LET IT BE

Let it be
Let it be
A love
Of not innocence lost
But of
Innocence gained

Let it be
Not a love of lust
But a love
A love of pure innocence

Let it be
A love of kindness
Let it be
A love of two hearts
A love based
On the
Love of friendship

Well I guess
Just let it be love

The love of a friend
For a friend

Ps        Happy Birthday to my friend Maggie
            On her 52nd birthday

“A friend loves at all time
And a brother is born for adversity”                                  Proverbs 17:17

Will follow me all the day of my life
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”                   Psalm 23:6

FAMILY OF GOD

Families helping families
That’s the way it should be
After all
We all belong
To the same family
The human family

The family of God
We should all be one
The family of God
Reel in the darkness
Bring out the sun

People helping people
What a world
That would be
A world
Where no one was excluded
We would
All be set free

The family of God
We should all be one
The family of God
Reeling in the darkness
Bringing out the sun

The family of God
We can still be one

GOD PLEASE SET US FREE

Ps        “And may you live to see your children’s children”                  Psalm 128:6

“And in him you too are being built together
To become a dwelling in which God
Lives by his spirit”                                                     Ephesians 2:19-22

            “HONOR your father and mother
Which is the first commandment with a promise
That it may go well with you
And that you may enjoy LONG LIFE
              On this earth”                                                             Ephesians 6:2 & 3

LOVE  ME LIKE A ROCK

It is believed
That the second letter of Peter
Was written not long before his death

Peter---in his second letter
Addresses another major threat
To the church---false teachings
From within the church

Then as now
There were and are
Many false teachings

I want to encourage believers
To study the Word of God
On your own
So that
You can mature
In the true truth of God

“You are the ROCK
The one upon I will build my church”                                                   Matthew 16:18

Peter encourages us
In his second letter
To grow in Christ
By reading the Word of God
And obtaining proper knowledge of the Gospel

Peter encourages us
To develop a personal relationship
With Christ
And that if we do this
God’s righteousness will prevail

Peter teaches us
That deceit comes in many forms
But truth only in one
The truth of God

Peter teaches us
That maturity in God will come
As we develop a personal relationship with him

Peter preached in Rome after Christ’s crucifixion
and was crucified upside down there
Because he did not feel worthy
To be crucified in the same manner as Christ

For his love of Christ
And his love of the church we owe Peter
Much thanks---and we continue
To love you

LIKE THE ROCK
That you were for Christ
And he ROCK that you continue to be
For the church today

I LOOKED AT THE MOUNTAIN I LOOKEDAT LOVE

There’s a saying
That goes like
When you look
At the mountain long enough
You become the mountain

Well I hope
That that is true
Because I have looked
At the mountain
And I have looked at love
And I turned to love
To get me through

The mountains keep getting larger
My love keeps getting stronger
Will my love get me through

I looked at the mountain
I looked at love
Is my love
Strong enough to get me through

I looked at the mountain
I looked at love
I guess my love
Will have to do

I guess my love
Will have to do

Robert P. Wallman

Ps        “Jesus replied,
“Because you have so little faith
               I tell you the truth
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed
You can say to this MONTAIN
               Move from here to there
               And it will move
NOTHING will be impossible for you”                         Matthew 17:20

            “And I have faith
              That can move MOUNTAINS
              But have NOT LOVE
              I am NOTHING”                                                    1 Corinthians 13:3

IT JUST TAKES ONE—PT 2

Sometimes it just takes one

One person to notice
One person to care
One person to share

The world is really tough
And it just keeps going on
No matter what happens to you
Even when you are down and out

Sometimes it just takes one

One person to notice
One person to care
One person to notice
One person to share

When you were down
When you were out
When you were on the flat of your back
Maybe someone reached out to you

Sometimes it just takes one

When you get back up
Maybe you could be a person
A person to reach out to someone new

Because
Sometimes it just takes one

One person to notice
One person to care
One person to give
Another person hope
One person to share

One person to share
In another’s problems
Yeah sometimes
It just takes one

One person to notice
One person to care
One person to share
In another’s problems
One person share

Sometimes-IT JUST TAKES ONE

Robert P. Wallman

Ps        “Anyone who receives instruction in the word
Must SHARE all good things with his instructor” (GOD)        Galatians 6:6

            “Command them to do good
To be rich in good deeds
And to be generous and willing to SHARE”                          1 Timothy 6:18

“And do NOT FORGET to do good
              And SHARE with others
For with such sacrifices-GOD IS PLEASED”                         Hebrews 13:16

IT JUST TAKES ONE

It just takes one
To believe
It just takes one
To get it all started
It just takes one
To begin anew
It just takes one
So let it begin with you

The world is falling apart
We need a brand new start
So much selfishness
So much pride
When did we turn away
Turn away from God
Turn to the other side

It just takes one
To believe
It just takes one
To begin anew
It just takes one
So let it begin with you

The world is full of lies
The world is full of deception

We have built our world
On the wrong values
No wonder
We are all walking around
So confused

It just takes one
To believe
It just takes one
To see the truth
It just takes one
To begin anew
It just takes one
So let it begin with you

Robert P. Wallman

Ps        “If you BELIEVE
You will receive whatever you ask for
              In prayer”                                                                   Matthew 21:22

             “Do not believe me
Unless I do what my Father does

              But if I DO IT
Even though you do NOT BELIEVE me
              BELIEVE the MIRACLES
That you may know and understand
That the Father is in me
              And I in the Father”                                                   John 10:37 & 38

GOODBYES AND PEACE

Goodbyes are difficult
Goodbyes always
Cause someone pain

Goodbyes occur
For many reasons
A move, a death, a broken relationship

But as Jesus
Was leaving this world
Jesus said
I leave my peace
With you

It is the kind of peace
That is
Not the peace from this world
But a peace
In spite of this world

A peace that says
In every situation
I am with you
To trust God
And know
God will bring you safely home

God’s peace
Is a victory
Over the darkness of sin
In this world

It is a victory over
The coldness, the indifference, the selfishness
The ingratitude, the luke warmness
And rejection of this world

So please know
That whatever you are facing
In this world

And if you
Are facing
A goodbye for any reason
I wish you peace

GOD’S PEACE

Robert P. Wallman
5-9-10

Ps       “Great PEACE have those who love your law
And nothing can make them stumble”                                             Psalm 119:165

           “A heart at PEACE
            Gives life to the body
But envy rots the bones”                                                                  Proverbs14:30

            “PEACE I leave with you
My PEACE I give to you
I do not give to you as the world gives
Do not let your hearts be troubled
And DO NOT be afraid”                                                                 John 14:27

FAILURE

God often
Gives us the tools
To be successful in life

The words to say
The words to write

The health to do
What needs to be done
The financial resources
To accomplish what needs to be done
The spiritual/emotional strength
To restore broken relationships

But what
If for some unknown reason
God wants us to fail
In a particular area
Or in ALL areas of our life

What then

The Bible says,
“Do not be afraid or discouraged
For the Lord, my God
Is with you
He will not fail you
Or forsake you
Until all the work
For the service of the Lord
Is finished”                                                              1 Chronicles 28:20

“I will maintain
My love to him forever
And my covenant with him
Will NEVER fail”                                                         Psalm 89:20

But what
If your intentions are pure
What if
Your intentions are totally unselfish
Your intentions
Are for GOD’S LOVE
To reenter---to what at times
Seems to be a God forsaken world

What then

I imagine
This is how Christ felt
When he uttered,
“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me”

We must know
That through faith
That God has a plan
For our lives---for our world

A plan
That can make everything turn out perfect
Even when it looks like
Our life---and our world
Are turning out all wrong

“Every good and perfect work
Is from above”                                                         James 1:17

Jesus Christ
Was the perfect sacrifice for us
A GIFT OF PERFECT LOVE
For all of us

Failure---there is no such thing
In a life totally devoted to God

God CAN AND WILL
Have the FINAL WORD
In us and for us
If only we let him

“And we know that in ALL things
God works for the GOOD
Of those who love him
Who have been called
According to his purpose”                                                       Romans 8:28

Failure---no such thing
In a life and love---given freely to God

THE LITTLE THINGS OF LOVE

You say you want to be great
In the world’s eyes

Send someone a birthday card
Tell someone you are sorry
Do something nice for someone
Without being asked

Little things
Little things
The little things of love

You say you want to be famous
You say you want to be remembered

Visit someone in the hospital
Volunteer to help someone
Do something nice for someone
Without being asked

Little things
Little things
The little things of love

THE LITTLE THINGS OF LOVE

Ps       “For GREAT is your love
            Higher than the heavens
Your faithfulness reaches to the sky”                                Psalm 108:4

           “Not so with you
Instead whoever wants to become great
             Must be your servant
And whoever wants to be first
             Must be slave of all

For even the Son of Man
Did NOT come to be served
             But to serve
             And to give his life
As a ransom for many”                                                    Mark 10:43-45

JOHN THE BAPTIST

Today is the feast
Of Jesus’ cousin, John
He was a forerunner
To Jesus’ message
Of peace and love
But he taught
In a way
Of fire and brimstone

He tried to
Prepare the way
For Jesus
He tried
To do what is right
He was rewarded
For his efforts
By someone
Cutting off his head

John had many followers
He even baptized Jesus
He was Jesus’ cousin
He was Jesus’
Forerunner in love

Robert P. Wallman
6-24-06

Ps        “Then Jesus came from Galilee
To the Jordan to be baptized by John
But John tried to deter him saying,

“I need to be baptized by you
And do you come to me?”

              Jesus replied,

              “Let it be so now
                It is proper for us
To do this to fulfill all righteousness”

                Then John consented

As soon as Jesus was baptized
He went up out of the water
               At that moment-heaven was opened
And he saw the SPIRIT OF GOD
Descending like a dove and lighting on him
And a voice from heaven said,

“This is my Son-whom I love
With him I am well pleased”                                               Matthew 3:13-17

WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE
( the story of JOB )

ALL my life
I have been BLESSED
By having
The most amazing friends

But everyone
Is NOT that fortunate
Everyone does not
Have loyal and amazing friends

All we have to do
Is look to the Bible
To the story of Job

Job begins
As one of the wealthiest
And most prominent men
On the face of the earth

He fears God
And is upright in his living

God tells Satan,
“Have you considered
My servant Job
There is no one
On earth like him
He is blameless
And upright
A man who fears God
And shuns evil”                                                           Job 1:8

The devil basically says,
“Why wouldn’t he
He has everything---family-health-wealth
What if he were to lose everything”

God’s response,
“Very well then
Everything he has is in your hands
But on the man himself
Do not lay a finger”                                                      Job 1:12

The devil
Takes away
Job’s family, his health, and his wealth

Job has 3 friends:
Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar

They come to comfort
But they end up discussing his life
And insist his suffering
Is for some sin in his life

Which of us
Hasn’t had some friend
Sometime in our life
That though meaning well
Experienced some betrayal
Or little act of treason
From them

ALL of us have
And if we are lucky
Our friendship survives

Finally a fourth friend Elihu
Comes to see him
And tells Job
That he needs to humble himself before God
And let God purify him

Even Job’s own wife says,
“Are you still
Holding on to your integrity
Curse God and die”                                                                  Job 2:9

Yet despite his suffering
Job says to his wife,
“You are talking
Like a foolish woman
Shall we accept
GOOD from God-and not trouble”                                                Job 2:10

Finally Job does QUESTION GOD
And Job learns valuable lessons
About the NEED
To totally trust God

Because
God does RESTORE
Job’s health, happiness, and prosperity
Even beyond his earlier state

So when trouble
Confronts us in this life
I pray
That you and I have a heart like Job---
And the FAITH of Job

And that we KNOW
That God deserves our love
REGARDLESS of our lot in life
And that God is enough

I have one last wish for you
And that is
That you be BLESSED
With FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Like I have had

NOT like Job

JUST AS I AM

Just as I am
I come before you
My head bowed
And on my way to my knees

I would confess all my weaknesses
To you
But you already know
So what’s the point

Just as I am
You always loved me
Just as I am
I know you always will

I would perfect myself
If I could
But you already accepted me
Just as I am

Just as I am
You always loved me
Just as I am
I know you always will

I know you will
Love me
Just as I am

You love me
Just as I am

Ps        God loves ALL his children

“I AM the true vine, and my FATHER is the gardener”                     John 15:1

“I AM the way and the truth and the life
No one comes to the Father except through me”                               John 14:6

             “Jesus said to her,
“I AM the resurrection and the life
He who believes in me will live
              Even though he dies;
And whoever lives and believes in me
              Will never die
Do you believe this?”                                                                  John 11:25 & 26

I HAVE A HUNGER

I have a hunger
For the Word of God
I have a hunger
For the love of another
I have a hunger
To take what is wrong
And make it right

I don’t know
What makes me this way
Bu I hate injustice
And I just love fair play

I hate
That people are starving
I hate
That people can’t get medical care
I hate everything unjust
Why can’t we learn
To live in a world
Where people will share

I have a hunger
For the Word of God
I have a hunger
For the love of another
I have a hunger
To take what is wrong
And make it right
I have a hunger

I have a hunger

Ps        “He will judge the world
             In righteousness
             He will govern the people
             With JUSTICE
             The Lord is a refuge
             For the oppressed
A stronghold in times of trouble”                            Psalm 9:8 & 9

             “When JUSTICE is done
It brings joy to the righteous
But terror to evildoers”                                        Proverbs 21:15

            “Therefore
              Since we have been JUSTFIED
              Through faith
              We have peace through God
Our Lord Jesus Christ”                                         Romans 5:1

FOR ANOTHER DAY

For another day
I would say anything
I would do anything
I would promise anything
For another day

For another day of life
I would promise anything
And I would do my best
To keep that promise
For another day

For another day
With my Mom
For another day-with my dad
For another day
With my family
I would do anything

For another day
With my friends
For another day
For all mankind
I would say anything
I would promise anything
For another day

And I would do my best
To keep that promise

For God
For family
For my friends
For all people everywhere

I would promise anything
I would do anything
For life
For another day

FOR ANOTHER DAY

Proclaim his salvation DAY after DAY”                       Psalm 96:2

“Therefore we do NOT lose heart
Though outwardly we are wasting away
We are being renewed Day by DAY                         2 Corinthians 4:16

HE HAD YOU AT HELLO

In a popular movie
From the 1990’s-called “Jerry McGuire”
The central characters-played by Tom Cruise and Renee Zellweger-breakup

After a period of time-he comes back to tell her
How much he misses and loves her
In front of a large group of women-no less
She puts her hand over his mouth-and basically says,

“SHUT UP-you had me at hello”

We come into this world as babies
We come in screaming and crying
But we NEED NOT worry
GOD HAS US AT HELLO

“In the beginning
God created the heavens and the earth”                          Genesis 1:1

God called you
Created you out of nothing
To be SOMEONE
To be –A CHILD OF GOD

GOD HAD YOU FROM HELLO

He called you to be HIS CHILD
A child of God

“In the beginning
You laid the foundation
Of the earth
And the heavens
Are the work of your hands”                                          Psalm 102:25

From the beginning
Of our life
God HELD YOU in the palm of his hand

YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD

“You created my inmost being
You knit me together
In my mother’s womb”                                                      Psalm 139:13

It can be a tough-cruel world out there
But we need not worry

GOD HAD YOU ( and me ) AT HELLO

A PERSON---NOT A NUMBER

You are a person
Not a number
You are a person
To be loved

Maybe not
To this world
But to God

God knows
Every inch of you
It is said
He even knows
The number
Of hairs
On your head

So when
This world
Gets you down
Remember
You are a person
With dignity
You are a person
Worthy of respect

God loves you infinitely

You are a person
Not a number

THE ONES I LOVE

The ones I love
Are family
The ones I love
Are friends
The one I love
Are everyone

Because the ones
I love
All belong to God

I believe every person
I believe every soul
That in them-somewhere-sometime
Is something good
Because they are
A child of God

Somewhere in them
Is a redemptive quality
Somewhere in them
Is something good
Because they are
A child of God

The ones I love
Are family
The ones I love
Are friends
The ones I love
Are everyone

Because the ones
I love
All belong to God

Because the ones I love
All belong

ONE IN A MILLION YOU

I read the newspaper today
It says
That child-abuse is over-stated
It says the child-abuse statistics
Are over-inflated

Even if that is true
What if you are
The one that
It happened to

What if the one-in-a-million
Is you

One-in-a-million you
Has your life been destroyed
Can you recover
From this tragedy
Can you build a life

We pray for
The one-in-a million-you

We love
The one-in-a-million-you

Robert P. Wallman

Ps      “It would be better for him
To be thrown into the sea
With a millstone tied around his neck
           Than for him to cause
One of these little ones to sin
           So watch yourselves”                                              Luke 17:2 & 3

“Unless the Lord BUILDS the house
Its builders labor in vain”                                           Psalm 127:1

A FAMILY STORY

“A Shot and a Beer”            ( John and the cemetery  )

My Uncle John is/was one of the most family oriented people in my life.  He stood
By my family, and me, through every family situation.

My Uncle John had this tradition of remembering his Mother and Father, my Father
After he died, and many other family members.  Each December, he would drive to
The cemetery, and at each grave, have a shot of whiskey and/or a shot of beer, depending
On how he felt.

I was with him and his wife, Karen, a few times when they did this.  Kimberly, his
Daughter, was there too.  Uncle John died in 2006.  But when I get
Back to Pittsburgh, Uncle John, I’ll be by, and I’ll have one for you.

“Two Different Shoes”

My Dad did many “crazy” things in his life.  One of the funniest things he ever did was to wear
Two different shoes to work.  My Dad’s boss, George, a good deal younger than my Father,
Got a big kick out of it.

They were doing inventory that weekend, and when my Dad came to work that Saturday,
Everybody in the Company was standing there with two different shoes on.

My Father was the only one with the correct shoes on.

A FAMILY STORY--THE LOON WENT THE WRONG WAY--HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

“The Loon Went the Wrong Way”

When I was a child, the 4 families always went on vacation together for a week or two.  In the early
Years, we all went to Cape May, New Jersey.  In the later years, it was Ocean City, Maryland.
And finally, the Outer Banks, in North Carolina.  My Uncle John was the mastermind, and usually
2 families stayed together in side-by-side houses, or we all stayed in the same house.

One year, we were all traveling together to Ocean City, Maryland. We were all following each other,
And we all had CB radios.  That particular year, I believe we had 4 or 5 cars, with my Dad tucked in
Next-to-last.  My cousin, Donny, was last, to keep an eye on my Dad.

My Dad had a habit of doing his own thing and going the wrong way.  About a ½ an hour before a
Specific turn on our way down, everybody starts talking about how up here, at such-and-such mile-
Marker you have to “bear to your right.”

So we get to the mile-marker, the first 3 cars bear to the right, and my Dad keeps going straight.
My cousin, Donny,  starts screaming over the CB radio, “the loon ( as he was affectionately called ),
Went the wrong way.  The loon went the wrong way.”

To make a long story short, they chased us down, we continued on our trip, and we had a wonderful vacation..

Respectfully,

ABRAHAM---THE FATHER OF US ALL

Did you know
That ALL three monotheistic religions
Can be traced back to one man---

ABRAHAM

Judaism by virtue
Of Abraham and Sarah’s son-Isaac
Islam by virtue
Of Abraham and Hagar’s son-Ishmael
And Christianity
By the blood of Christ
On Joseph’s side
Being traced back to David
To Ruth ( whose son Obed is the grandfather of David )
And ultimately to Abraham

Three religions—ONE MAN
THE FATHER OF US ALL
( in a manner of speaking )

And ultimately God’s representative
As the Father of many nations

Do you KNOW the story of Abraham

Abram married a woman
By the name of Sarai
The Lord said to Abraham

“Leave you country
Your people and your father’s house
And go to the land that I will show you

I will make you
Into a great nation
And I will bless you

I will make your name great
And you will be a blessing

I will bless those
Who bless you
And whoever curses you I will curse

And ALL people on earth
Will be BLESSED through you”                                                Genesis 12:1-3

Don’t you think
We should focus
On what we have in common

Religion—OUR SPIRITUALITY
Has the power to UNITE us
If only we would think
The way
God wants us to think

God RENEWS
his covenant with Abraham
But Abraham becomes disillusioned
And says to the Lord,

“You have given me no children
So a servant in my household
Will be my heir”                                                              Genesis 15:3

The Lord tells Abraham
To KEEP the faith
That he will still have offspring

Keep in mind
That Abraham is 100 years old
And Sarai 90 years of age

Abram’s wife-Sarai-says to Abraham,

“The Lord has kept me
From having children
Go sleep with my maidservant
Perhaps I can build a family through her”                                     Genesis 16:2

So Abraham sleeps with the maid
And has a son named Ishmael

God changes Abram’s name to Abraham
And Sarai’s name to Sarah

God says to Abraham

“As for me,

“This is my covenant with you
You will be the father of many nations
No longer will you be call Abram
You will be called Abraham
For I have made you
A father of many nations

I will make you very fruitful
I will make nations of you
And kings will come from you

I will establish my covenant
As an everlasting covenant
Between you and me
And your descendants after you
For the generations to come
To be your God
And the God
Of your descendants after you”                                            Genesis 17:3-7

There you have it
Three different religions
Fathered by one man

Why don’t we
Focus on what we have in common

Why don’t we FOCUS ON LOVE

Why don’t we
Focus on Abraham

If we do this
Each and every person
In this world
Is a child of God
And our brother and our sister

Why don’t we
Focus on Abraham
The Father of us all

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY EVERYONE
I LOVE YOU!

JUNE 16th, 2012

My father was kind
My father was loving
But more than that
He was a kid himself
He knew how to have fun

He loved his sports
We talked about it much
I’ll always have the memories
Of Forbes Field and the Pittsburgh Pirates
The street car and the White Tower
My father always had time for me

My father was kind
My father was loving
But more than that
He was a kid himself
He knew how to have fun

My father loved bowling on Friday night
My father liked a beer
My father
Loved his family and friends
Among others
We’ll never forget Walter and Ray

My father was kind
My father was loving
But more than that
He was a kid himself
He knew how to have fun

And when the end came
The last two years
He bore it
With the patience of a Saint

He was kind
He was loving
He had the faith of a child

He had the faith of a child
