IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE TOO One of my MOST favorite movies Is “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE” With James Stewart In the role of George Bailey This past weekend Particularly the day and evening of Saturday=March 21st Drove home for me the theme For the umpteenth time In my life That it really is: A WONDERFUL LIFE In the movie The ONE particular scene That ALWAYS hits home is when: George is contemplating Taking his own life And another man Jumps in first FORCING George to jump in To SAVE the unknown stranger Called Clarence- Who is an ANGEL by the way Clarence=through a series Of flashbacks Makes George UNDERSTAND How other lives Would have CHANGED too If George “Had NEVER been born” The very words George said Just before jumping in to SAVE Clarence “SURELY goodness and love Will follow me ALL the days Of my life And I will dwell In the house of the Lord FOREVER” Psalm 23:6 On March 21st At the MASS for my mom And OUR FAMILY I couldn’t help but think How extremely BLESSED that I am To have the parents that I had The sisters that I have-and nieces And the cousins-second cousins-and third In a couple of instances PLUS the most beautiful lifelong friends It made me AGAIN think How MERCIFUL God is To PRESERVE me from death’s door OVER and over again in my 20’s “But God Because of his GREAT LOVE For us God-who is rich IN MERCY- Made us ALIVE in Christ Even when we were dead In transgressions -It is by GRACE You have been SAVED” Ephesians 2:4-5 And Saturday evening-March 21st- To look out and see ALL my family and friends Made me again REALIZE HOW SPECIAL life is And it is NOT To be taken for granted It really is A WONDERFUL LIFE In a couple of weeks time I will be heading HOME And back to my NEW LIFE That was started 13 years ago WHERE I have friends From ALL over the country-and world And special churches WHERE I WORSHIP “EVERY time a bell rings An ANGEL gets his wings” Ding-a-ling-a ling THANK YOU for being a part Of my life= You are ALL ANGELS to me It really is A WONDERFUL LIFE TOO I LOVE YOU! THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE Do you have A special someone Do you have A SPECIAL someone In your life I had thought I had found That SPECIAL someone A few times In my life But my feelings Went unrequited So you are ALL SPECIAL SOMONES to me A very CLOSE Single woman friend ONCE said to me: “It’s good That you didn’t Have anyone special In your life BECAUSE you were NEVER meant to Love just one” Maybe that’s it Maybe that is WHY I have no one special In my life Why I don’t Have my own family But I DO Have many women friends And I can HONESTLY say ALL WOMEN Are special to me ALL ages and all types I do LOVE WOMEN I do love spending time With women And I do Have many male friends also ALL PEOPLE are special To me I do love ALL PEOPLE Also a number Of people Have asked me “WHY didn’t you Become a priest, Or a minister?” NOT a priest Because I was NEVER SURE I wouldn’t meet that special someone And want to marry And NOT a minister (or a priest) MAINLY because Of my health reasons And the physicality REQUIRED To perform Jesus himself Was not a priest BUT turned out to be THE PRIEST OF US ALL “But you Are a royal priesthood A HOLY nation A people belonging to God That you may declare THE PRAISES of him Who called you Out of darkness Into his WONDERFUL LIGHT” 1 Peter 2:9 And I will SING THE PRAISES OF GOD And my Lord Jesus Christ FOREVER MORE And the great SAINT PAUL Taught me it was OK To be WITHOUT that special someone “NOW to the unmarried And the widow I say, ‘it is GOOD For them to stay unmarried As I am But IF They can’t control themselves They should marry FOR it is better to marry Than to BURN with passion” 1 Corinthians 7:8 But I do Burn with PASSION To make GOD’S NAME And Jesus’ name KNOWN AND ACCEPTED ALL OVER THE WORLD So married or single Man or woman-young or old KNOW THAT I LOVE YOU So whether or not You have that special someone Know that YOU are special to me AND I LOVE YOU Robert P. CHOICES=ENCOURAGING OTHERS

CHOICES=ENCOUAGING OTHERS WE ALL Face many choices Each day CHOICES of all shapes-varieties- And issues And ONE of the choices We face constantly IS WHETHER to move CLOSER To God Or whether to move Further away ONE of the things That I have learned is IF we make The SMALL choices FOR GOD WHEN it comes time We will MAKE The big choices for God The BIG COMMITMENT To have God In our life “As Jesus drew nearer Jerusalem He saw the city And wept over it-saying: ‘If this day You only knew What makes for PEACE But now it is HIDDEN From your LIVES’” Luke 19:41-42 SOMEHOW I know If Jesus was perched Outside of any major city In America He would be saying The same thing As back then But I ENCOURAGE YOU To choose God In your life To encourage others To CHOOSE GOD “If anyone chooses To do God’s will He will find out Whether my teachings Comes from God Or whether I speak On my own” John 7:17 “But we ought ALWAYS To thank GOD For you BROTHERS LOVED by the Lord BECAUSE from the beginning God CHOSE YOU To be SAVED Through the sanctifying work IN THE SPIRIT And through belief OF THE TRUTH” 2 Thessalonians 2:13 And ONCE YOU make that choice For God I encourage you To ENCOURAGE OTHERS To do the same For there is nothing More powerful Than a BELIEVING WITNESS In the Gospel And in TRUTH AND LOVE In today’s world “You HEAR-O Lord The desires of the afflicted You ENCOURAGE them And you LISTEN to their cry” Psalm 10:17 “The people read id And were glad For its ENCORAGING MESSAGE Judas and Silas Who themselves were prophets Said much to ENCOURAGE And STRENGTHEN their brothers” Acts 15:32 CHOOSE GOD-CHOOSE LIFE Then ENCOURAGE others To do the same As someone Who constantly-as a spiritual guide- TRIES to point others In a positive direction I HOPE AND PRAY For you to make LIFE-giving=GOD-giving choices With positive results I LOVE YOU-I pray for you And my WISH for you IS that you find peace and WHOLENESS Robert P. “MANY are the troubles of the JUST MAN” Psalm 34:20


Are you a good person? Do you have troubles in your life? WE ALL have troubles in our life-whether a good person-or bad-it's just a fact o life-LIFE HAPPENS to us all


And anything CAN HAPPEN to any of us at any time-GOOD OR BAD-that is WHY it is important that we stick CLOSE to God-to give him the CREDIT when the good things happen-and LEAN on him when the ill-fortunes of life blow our way-so we CAN make it through and come out the other side


I do know ONE THING-it is NOT GOD'S will for bad things to happen to us-he wants ONLY GOOD for us-and SCRIPTURE says GOD WILL DELIVERS us from our troubles-so when trouble does come-DON'T BLAME God-but ASK for and RECOGNIZE his help-WHEN he comes to your aid


The actions that RESCUE YOU come from God


it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day to RECOGNIZE the actions of HELP and God in your life




TRIALS-AFFLICTIONS-DIFFICULTIES




Do you have trials-afflictions-
And difficulties
In your life


Have you ever


IF you answer no
To both questions
GOD BLESS YOU
Because
You are not human


EVEN Jesus did


Another word
For these words is tribulation
And tribulation
IS trouble in one's life
Often associated with great afflictions


Saint James-Jesus' ½ brother
Once wrote,


“Consider it ALL JOY
My brothers
When you encounter various trials........” James 1:2


We probably hate to admit it
But TRIALS can be GOOD for us
Because they can bring MATURITY
DEVELOP character
And IF we take on our crosses
As Jesus did
They can bring us GREAT JOY


It all goes to our mind set
TRIALS can make us or break us
It all depends
On the ATTITUDE we face them with


We should become
An EXAMPLE to others
Like Jesus


You are probably saying,
“Bob/Robert are you nuts
How can trials and afflictions
Be good for us?”


“It was good for me
To be afflicted
So that I might learn
Your decrees” Psalm 119:71


First of all
They can remind us
Of our human limits


Sometimes
The MIRACLES of our life
DEPEND on God's power
NOT on our own


John 4
Tells us about the HEALING
Of an official's son


Jesus says,


“UNLESS you people see miraculous signs
And works
You will NEVER believe” John 4:48


“The royal official said,
'Sir, come down,
Before my child dies'” John 4:49


“Jesus replied,
'You may go
Your son will live'” John 4:50


The power of faith
The power of belief
COMES FIRST
Then comes THE HEALING


Put your TRUST in God


Secondly-afflictions can develop virtues
In us


VIRTUES like humility-patience-understanding
Wisdom-and compassion


And these virtues
Can lead to
Human and spiritual maturity


But if we
Let our afflictions break us
This can lead to qualities
Like meanness-pettiness-and selfishness


WHICH PERSON
Are you
Going to choose to be


So I ask you
What kind of trials
Are you experiencing
In your life-right now


And what kind of person
Are they turning you into


Dear Lord-we pray
That you USE our trials
In life
To HELP us become
MORE AND MORE like you


And BECOME
A shining example to ALL

Have you ever been PUZZLED in your life-arriving at a PLACE in your life-that you don't know how you got there-wondering what your next move should be-what you should do now


I AM SURE this is HOW Joseph had to feel-when he found out Mary was with child-and she claimed she had been with NO MAN-what about us WHEN we are puzzled-when we are without a normal explanation for with what IS going on in our life


Can we walk with Joseph?---can we step FORWARD as Joseph did-can we -will we-LISTEN for God's VOICE as Joseph did and let God take our hand-let God TAKE AWAY our fear


Dear Lord-WE PRAY-that like Saint Joseph-we will not only accept the plight of our lives-but STEP FORWARD and EMBRACE who and what GOD CALLS US to be right now-and live our lives with CHRISTIAN JOY


it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day to ACCEPT the calling of our lives-DEAR SAINT JOSEPH-please help us that we may no longer be afraid

And as his human Father---
Along with Mary
Was responsible for developing the human traits and character
Of Jesus

A man of honor and faith

Who stood tall
In the midst
Of it all

The Father of the Holy Family

WHAT has INFLUENCED me the most in my life-other than GOD'S LOVE for us-is the love and family life that I was brought up with


I HAD the greatest two parents-and the most beautiful two sisters-and four nieces-that a guy could ever wish to have-and LOVE was always been at the center of our family life-and still is-even though it is five years today that my mom is gone-and fifteen years for my father


LOVE still continues to be the CENTER of our family life-and this Saturday there is a MASS honoring our mom and family life in general-as well as a 60 birthday celebration for me (even though my birthday was in January)=IN the Wallman family-we celebrate life-love-family-and the LOVE OF GOD all year long-and the love of each other


OUR GOD is a compassionate God-a LOVING GOD and desires a COMMUNITY OF LOVE all around him-and all around each other-we should ALWAYS love one another
That is a REVELATION that should make us smile


it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a GREAT day to smile at GOD and those family members with him in heaven that make us SMILE

“That Sweet Sweet Smile”

That sweet sweet smile

Will linger in my heart

If not forever

At least

For a little while

That look of contentment

And peace

That look of it ending

Of course-WE all want to be WELL-don't we-well physically-well emotionally-well SPIRITUALLY-well financially-WELL-in every area of our life


BUT-some people suggest that the ROOT of our gifts is ALSO the root of our sins-I THINK-it is UP to us to MAXIMIZE the gifts that GOD gave us-while at the same time DIMINISHING our negative faults-NOT an easy thing to do-BECAUSE the root-the same QUALITY where our gifts come from-is also the same quality where our sins come from-but it CAN be done-IF we maximize our CONNECTION with the SPIRIT OF GOD


SAY YES to God-and let your GIFTS outshine your sin-and the GIFT that ALWAYS keeps SHINING-IS the LOVE of GOD and the love of others


it is a GREAT day to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to let OUR GIFTS SHINE

THE SHEEP OF GOD




We are ALL
The sheep of God


BOTH the sheep
That have been lost
And are STILL lost
And those that
Have already been FOUND


“MY SHEEP

And then there are
THOSE SHEEP that are still lost
Some will
FIND their way back to God
Some never will
Some aren't even looking anymore

DID YOU ever become DRY in GOD-dry in prayer-that you just can't FEEL God's PRESENCE inside of you-I have-we ALL have-TRY as we might-we just can't feel the PRESENCE OF GOD


I ASSURE YOU-this is a NORMAL step in the spiritual journey-and we MUST simply live
through it-it happens to all of us-even to the Saints


WHEN we feel this dryness-we must just keep PRAYING-and the dryness will PASS at some point-and it will be REPLACED by THE GRACE OF GOD


it is a great day to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day to replace our dryness with FAITH-and really feel the PRESENCE OF GOD

WHAT type of person are you? Are you boastful? DO YOU think you are better than everyone else?
--IF so-I can humbly tell you-that is NOT who God wants you to be-


-just take a look at the above parable-THE PHARISEE is PROUD of his own RIGHTEOUSNESS-so much so-that he begins to LOOK DOWN on others=HE BECOMES focused on himself and becomes DISCONNECTED from God


-God wants you to CONNECT with him-and he tells us EXACTLY how to do this-”LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR as yourself”-and your neighbor IS every other single human being in this world-regardless of economic status-race-nationality-or religion (or gender)


-The TAX COLLECTOR-was ONE of the most despised professions of the JEWISH CULTURE-yet this is who Jesus preferred over the self-righteous Pharisee-because OUR GOD-and HIS SON JESUS are merciful-as he EXPECTS US to be one another


DEAR LORD-we pray that we-in fact-GET IT-as the people of yesteryear did NOT-it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day for living with a HUMBLE HEART

Do you ever
Stop and think
That the one thing
Our Lord wanted us to learn from him
Was and is to act with humility


Humility
Is the quality
Of being modest and respectful
It is seen as being humble
Or grounded


But how do most of us
Live our lives today


We seek flattery
We seek
The applause of the crowd
And we seek riches


Nothing humble or grounded
In that


“He has showed you-o man
What is good


And what does the Lord
Require of you


To act justly and to love mercy
And to walk humbly
With your God” Micah 6:8


That is
Exactly what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ did


And HOW was he repaid


With a broken body
With a broken heart
And with ALL of his disciples and friends deserting him


But he could do it
For he was GOD
And for that
He is exalted today


But what about us
Poor humans
Will we even make the effort
To walk humbly


Saint Paul
Encourages us to do so


“Live in harmony
With one another


Do not be proud
But be willing to associate
With people of low position


Do NOT be conceited” Romans 12:16


That is exactly
Who Christ was
That is exactly
What he did
And he took much criticism
For WHO he chose
To be his twelve apostles


SO KNOW
That whatever your state in life
WHOEVER you are
That GOD CHOOSES you


Our God
Is not too good for you
The question is
DO YOU THINK
You are too good for God


Know that
God loves each of us
With a special individual kind of love


A little bit hard to believe
A little bit overwhelming
THAT GOD CHOOSES YOU AND ME


And the more humble you are
The more humility
That you have
The MORE SPECIAL you are too God


“Blessed are the poor in spirit

“DO NOTHING

But in HUMILITY

Like the poor widow
(maybe like me-?-at
DIFFERENT stages of my life)


NOT GIVING very much
To the church
But giving out of
“WHAT you have to live on”


Sometimes
We just have
To bear with it


GIVE till it hurts
So to speak


BEARING with our life
And with our circumstances
FOR AS LONG as is necessary


Yet giving ourselves
To God and to the church
(TIME-MONEY-PRAYER)
In whatever way
WE have
The capacity to give


FROM OUR POVERTY
Physical-financial-spiritual-emotional
COMES DEEP DEEP FAITH


WHEN we continue to GIVE
Despite our poverty
God can WORK miracles
In us and through us


“YOU are the God
Who performs miracles” Psalm 77:14


“'WHERE did this man
Get these things,' they asked


'WHAT'S this wisdom
That has been given him
That he even DOES MIRACLES


ISN'T THIS the carpenter's son........'” Matthew 13:54-55


WHEN we don't think
We can go on


WHEN we don't think
We can bear a circumstance
Any longer

Do you ever feel that your burdens are TOO HEAVY-like there is a ton of bricks that you are carrying around with you-I KNOW that I do-I KNOW that our burdens can feel quite heavy at times-WE often can feel WEIGHED DOWN by our burdens-worries and concerns-and WHEN we are HELPING others too-it can really weigh us down


BUT GOD CAN-Jesus can HELP US-IF we let him-HE wishes to FRE US from our burdens by taking them on his own shoulders-TRUST HIM-LOVE HIM-let God and HIS SON help you


Dear Lord=WHEN I feel weighed down-with concerns and worries of ALL KINDS-PLEASE ease our burdens with your love


it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for letting GOD and Jesus carry us for a little while-for he OUR HOPE AND SALVATION












CARRYING ANOTHER’S BURDENS




Have you ever
Tried to help another human being


I mean really help someone
NOT just giving lip service


Whether it be family, friend
Or a virtual stranger


We ALL need help
At one time or another


It may be
Because of health difficulties
It may be
Because of financial problems or obligations
A lost job---mitigating circumstances
Broken relationships within a family
Or with a very close friend


In any case
We need help---we can’t do it alone
Because we are fighting heavy battles
And we are losing


It may surprise you to know
That OUR LORD knows this
It wasn’t any different 2000 years ago


Jesus saw this
And with a compassionate loving heart
He said,


“Come to me
All you who are weary and heavy burdened
And I will give you rest
Take my yoke upon you
And learn from me
For I am gentle and humble of heart
And you will find rest
For your souls


For my yoke is easy
And my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30


A yoke is the instrument
That binds 2 animals together


Maybe you have
So many problems
That you feel
You have nothing left
To help someone else


Maybe you have
So many burdens
That you feel
Nothing and no one can help you


I have some news for you
Jesus can


He carried
The weight of the world
Some 2000 years ago
I thin he is quite capable
Of carrying yours and my burdens


We live
In a world
Full of selfishness
Becoming more and more so
Each day


“What the world needs now
Is love---sweet love
It is the only thing
That there is just too little of” from a song many years ago


Tiredness of body---come to me
Weakness of soul and spirit---come to me


Jesus says,


“Come to me
Let me help you
Carry your burdens”


He can carry burdens
And solve problems
That we never can
Maybe
Burdens and problems that we
Were never intended to carry


Moses believed in God’s promises
Abraham believed
The Blessed Mother---Mary---believed


“I am the Lord’s servant
may it be done to me
According to your Word” Luke 1:38


Do you believe
Do I believe


Your problems my be great
My problems may be great


They are NOT insurmountable


“And we know
That in all things
God works for the good
Of those who love him” Romans 8:28


Maybe we can’t
Carry another’s burdens
Maybe we can’t even
Carry our own


But God says---Christ says,
“I can”
He says,
“Tie your yoke to me”


He says the most appealing words
Ever heard
This side of paradise---


---“COME TO ME”
And you will find REST for your souls

Are you OBEDIENT to God? Are you obedient to anyone or anything? In today's culture-you would think OBEDIENCE is a dirty word-That is ALL the Lord asked the children of ISRAEL-in RETURN for his protection and his friendship


And that is ALL-he asks of us in today's world-PEOPLE 2600 years ago found that following God's WILL was difficult-and I think it is TRUE of us today too-And so I ask you too-DO you have enough CONFIDENCE in God's will to FOLLOW HIM


AFTER ALL-isn't that what Jesus said-”COME FOLLOW ME.......”


It may be a little UNCOMFORTABLE at first-but I assure you-we are STILL getting the BEST END of the deal


Dear Lord-we PRAY-HELP US to grow in love-trust-humility-and OBEDIENCE
it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in God's LOVE for us-and a great to be OBEDIENT to the leadership of GOD and the Lord

Obedience to God

It is important

To hear the word of God

It is important to listen

To what God is telling us to do

The question becomes

Are we obedient

To what God is telling us

If we are

True followers of God

God sometimes asks us

To do some very difficult things

“But the one

Who hears my words

And does not put them in to practice

Is like a man

Who built a house without a foundation

The moment the torrent

Struck that house

It collapsed

And its destruction was complete” Luke 6:49

Love, forgiveness, kindness

Christ tells us what is rock

Was he right

YOU KNOW he was

Nothing was ever built on hatred

Being obedient to God

May be to just keep being kind

To that same difficult person

That turns their head

When we say hello

That treats us with contempt

That thinks we are beneath them

Being kind to that same difficult person

That takes us for granted

Over and over and over again

Christ taught us

About a different kind of love

It is called agape

And it means, “love your enemies”

“If your enemy is hungry

Give them food to eat

If he is thirsty

Give him water to drink

In doing this,

You will keep burning

Coals on his head

And the Lord will reward you” Proverbs 25 : 21 & 22

Being a Christian

Means not only listening, hearing,

And knowing the Word of God

But being obedient to God

When he asks you

To do something difficult and uncomfortable

Do you think

Christ wanted to be mocked, ridiculed, humiliated, crucified

And die a shameful death

Of course not---but he did it

Because that is what God---His Father---

Our Father---told him to do

“Those who obey his commands

Live in him

And he in them

And this is how we know

That he lives in us

We know it by the spirit

That he gave us” 1 John 3 : 24

So the next time

God asks you

To do that difficult task

To love that difficult person

Who treats us with contempt

Lord please help us to always say yes

Like Jesus---Your Son---and our eternal Brother

Do you KNOW the story of Maria Goretti? How about this? Do you know the story of Alessandro Serenelli? If you know ONE-CHANCES ARE you know the other-because their lives did intercept


At the age of eleven-a young man in the neighborhood-first made advances to her-pestered her-and threatened her and kill her-IF she resisted-She resisted and he killed her


She FORGAVE the 20-year-old Alessandro on her deathbed-saying she wanted to see him in PARADISE-in a modern day world-WHERE almost any kind of FORGIVENESS seems unattainable-what an UNBELIEBABLE STORY


BUT the story does NOT end there-Alessandro had a CONVERSION EXPERIENCE in prison-and later asked for and RECEIVED FORGIVENESS from Maria's mother-and attended the canonization of Maria in 1950


SOMETIMES-we wallow in our own GUILT-and we wonder IF FORGIVENESS is even possible-but the story of Alessandro and Maria and her mother-and the story of Jesus-HIS death and crucifixion-and HIS RESURRECTION for ALL of our sins tells us that it is


it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a good day to ask-WHO CAN we FORGIVE today-and GIVE the GLORY to GOD




GLORY




I am not seeking
Earthly glory
Nor even
Heavenly glory
ALL I wish
Is that someone/somewhere/some day
Will give GLORY TO GOD
Because of the life
That I have tried
To lead


And by glory
I mean
“The grandeur and majesty
Of God revealed'


“But you are a shield

You bestow GLORY on me

God doesn't need me
Nor you-For that matter
To GLORIFY his name

Has already been done
In the PERFECT life and love
Of OUR Lord Jesus Christ

'My father,'-they said-'IF the prophets have told you to do something EXTRAORDINARY-would you not have done it? ALL the more now.....” 2 KINGS 5:11,13


WE are ALWAYS looking for God in the extraordinary-but it is TRUE that God is often found in the ordinary MOMENTS of LIFE and of LOVE-like Naaman in the above scenario-he CAN'T BELIEVE that the CURE to his leprosy is FOUND in something as simple as WASHING in the river Jordan


It is like us in today's world-ALWAYS LOOKING for the KEYS to life-the keys to life ARE EXACTLY what Jesus was and IS STILL TRYING to teach us:


LOVING GOD with our whole heart-mind-and soul
LOVING OUR NEIGHBOR as OURSELF
FORGIVING 70 x 7
and LIVING the BEATITUDES


THAT'S IT-that is the KEY to life-but we become too busy looking for a BIG SIGN or SPECIAL PROCESS-that we FORGET that GOD is in the ordinary events of our life


Let us live with INTENTIONALITY-leave our heart OPEN to God-and let GOD'S GRACE and healing-HELP TURN US back to God


it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great to love GOD BACK and really and TRULY love our neighbor

“WE proclaim Christ crucified........” 1 Corinthians 1:23


Did you know that South Korea is ONLY 29 per cent Christian and-of that-11 per cent Catholic-despite that-the cross is VERY PRESENT there-especially at night


Jesus made the SUPREME SACRIFICE OF LOVE for us in life and in death-”GREATER LOVE has no man than this-that he LAY DOWN his life for his friends” John 15:13 (THAT is right-you and me are Jesus' friends-as are the people of South Korea-and BELIEVERS-and non-believers alike all over the world)


So this Lent and this Easter-spend a few minutes with the CRUCIFIX-the symbol of CHRIST'S ignominy all over the world-BUT also the SYMBOL OF his love for us


And maybe you will see-as I have seen-throughout my life-that CHRIST-”is the way-the TRUTH-and the LIFE” John 14:6


There are ONLY about 2.8 billion BELIEVERS of the 7 billion people of this world-and maybe you will see your life RESURRECTED over your daily problems-for there is life in JESUS


“THEREFORE go and make disciples of ALL NATIONS---baptizing them in the name of THE FATHER-and of the SON-and of the HOLY SPIRIT” Matthew 28:19


IT IS a great day to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and in EVERY DAY of our lives

Luke 15-is without a doubt ONE of my most favorite parables-about ONE lost sheep-one lost coin-and
about one lost child-A BELOVED SON-and the JOY that arises WHEN the lost has BEEN FOUND


THERE are so many things that are lost in our life-that really NEED FINDING-and I am NOT talking about wealth or material possessions-or our sexuality-NO I AM talking about the things that really matter:


PURPOSE in life
HUNGER for God-for the HOLY ONE
And TRUST in Divine PROVIDENCE among other things


WE LIVE and think we have to be constantly busy-but what we really NEED to do is to take a step back-and think about the really important things in life-THE ABOVE-THIS LENT-I encourage you to
really SPEND some time in REFLECTION-for IF you feel lost-there is NOTHING LOST -that can't be
FOUND BACK in GOD-the RESTORER of LOST THINGS


it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for RECLAIMING OUR LIVE THROUGH GOD

But I have also done good things

I think this is
What God wants


Let GOD be our reward
( if there is to be a reward )


PURITY OF HEART


“Create in me a pure heart
Oh God

We should do good
Because it is good
Not to look good
In the eyes of others


Purity of heart
Motivated by God


“Blessed are the pure in heart
For they will see God” Matthew 5:8


“Finally brothers
Whatever is true
Whatever is right
Whatever is lovely
Whatever is admirable
If anything is excellent or praiseworthy
Think about such things


Whatever you have learned or received
Or heard from me

In the PASSION of Luke-we HEAR those same words-just BEFORE Jesus dies-Did you ever REALIZE that Jesus' words were from psalm 31:6-the very first of its two lines-I didn't UNTIL RECENTLY


The NEXT words of the psalm are:
“YOU will REDEEM ME-O Lord-O FAITHFUL GOD”


Jesus KNEW the old testament scripture INSIDE and out-HE KNEW exactly what he was doing-HIS PRAYER was MORE than resigned surrender-he knew he was REDEEMING THIS WORLD-and he knew NEW LIFE-through HIS RESURRECTION was just ahead


THIS LENT as we suffer though his death-and our sins slowly die-may a BRAND NEW YOU/and NEW LIFE RISE in Christ's RESURRECTION this Easter and beyond


FAITHFUL GOD-we know that your REDEEMING LOVE is right around the corner in OUR LIVES


it is a GREAT to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for US and a GREAT DAY to realize HOW MUCH GOD
loves the people of this world-”FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD........”

IS the boat of your life on a STRAIGHT AND STEADY course-Or has the boat of your life gotten off kilter for some reason-DO YOU LONG to make things RIGHT with God and right with others?


THE PRIORITIES that I try to keep for my LIFE-is loving God and LOVING family-TRYING my darndest to LIVE the two COMMANDMENTS of Jesus and living a life of FORGIVENESS and KINDNESS-that doesn't mean I can't get off kilter-but it does mean I AM less likely to do so


BUT HEALTH problems and age catch up with everyone-And we must REMEMBER that GOD is the true CENTER OF HEALING and that science-medicine-and physicians are just GOD'S TOOLS-it is a PROVEN FACT that those who BELIEVE in a higher power and PRAYER-do much better in the long run


BUT WHERE-most people go wrong is that they put money-possessions-and POWER above GOD-or succumb to sexual temptation ABOVE God and FAMILY


I have NO IDEA what-IF ANYTHING-may need to be made straight in your life-but I do KNOW a couple of questions that you might want to ASK YOURSELF:

1. HAVE I strayed from my INTENTION to live my faith?
   
2. ARE GOD and CHRIST number ONE in my heart and is the PATH a straight and steady one?
   

It is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD LOVE for us and a great to KEEP LOVE of God and LOVE of others-number 1 and 1A in our lives






RIGHT WHERE?




Do you RECOGNIZE Jesus
In the ordinary course
Of your day


Maybe you say
You have NEVER SEEN God
NEVER felt God


In the 20^th chapter
Of Saint John's gospel
Mary Magdalene
Did not recognize Jesus
AFTER his Resurrection


“WHEN she had said this
She turned around
And saw Jesus there


But did NOT KNOW
It was Jesus”


Mary Magdalene
Did not recognize Jesus
AFTER seeing him


So WE must be FORGIVEN
IF we cannot
FEEL OR SEE the presence
Of Jesus
In today's world


WHERE is Jesus?
RIGHT WHERE?


MAYBE God and Jesus
Come simply
As a COMFORTING PRESENCE
Right when
We NEED him most


“I will fear
No evil


For thou art with me
Thy rod and staff THEY COMFORT ME” Psalm 23:4


MAYBE he
Is just there
In some of my
MOST BROKEN and desolate moments


NOT something
That I can see
Just a comforting presence
TO BE FELT


RIGHT WHERE?


RIGHT THERE
In the PRESENCE
Of the HOLY SPIRIT
Who Christ left behind for us


“And walking
In the fear
Of the Lord
And in the COMFORT
Of the Holy Spirit
Was multiplied” Acts 9:31


RIGHT WHERE?


WHERE is the
PRESENCE OF GOD?


Right there
In the presence
Of the scriptures


“For whatsoever things
Were written for them
Were written
For our LEARNING


That we
TROUGH PATIENCE AND COMFORT
Of the scriptures
MIGHT HAVE HOPE” Romans 15:4


Like Mary
We might NOT RECOGNIZE
The PRESENCE of God and Jesus


But like Mary
WE FEEL his presence


We feel his presence
In his spirit
LEFTBEHIND


We feel
His presence
THROUGH THE SCRIPTURES


Maybe even in a HUG
Or a well-timed phone CALL
From a FRIEND


RIGHT WHERE?


RIGHT THERE


You were PRESENT
ALL THE TIME

“BE MERCIFUL-just as also your FATHER is MERCIFUL” Luke 6:36


DO you ever get annoyed by people? DO YOU ever run into annoying people during the course of your day? MY ANSWER is yes and yes-I have come to REALIZE that sometimes being annoyed is a good thing-ACTUALLY A BLESSING


For in Luke 6:37-it says-


“STOP JUDGING and you will not be judged-STOP CONDEMNING and you will not be condemned-FORGIVE and you will be forgiven”


FOR the TRUTH is-as often as we are annoyed by others-WE ANNOY others just the same-AS I have said before-FORGIVENESS-is a most difficult task-especially WHEN we are the ones who are perfect
-lol-SERIOUSLY-the thing GOD calls us most to do is LOVE-and to LOVE difficult people-we can't do it on our own-we have to OPEN ourselves up to GOD'S LOVE-and here is WHERE the BLESSING part comes in-when we are MERCIFUL with and love others-GOD IS more merciful with us-OF COURSE-he ALWAYS LOVES us -all of us-and as his disciples-that is what we are CALLED UPON to do-LOVE AN FORGIVE ALL PEOPLE


Dear GOD-we THANK YOU for the annoying people in this world-FOR THEY OPEN US up WIDER to your LOVE


it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day to LOVE AND FORGIVE the difficult people in this world-HELP US ALWAYS to GIVE MERCY






GIVE MERCY




It is EASY
To sit in judgment
Of another


To CRITICIZE them
For this
Or for that


What is NOT
So easy
Is to GO the extra mile
And to GIVE someone mercy


What exactly is mercy


MERCY is compassion
Shown to an offender


It is forgiveness
EXTENDED to someone
Who doesn't deserve it


That is what
Jesus did for us


He lived and died
And RESURRECTED
For our sins


For us
Who didn't deserve it


HE TOOK OUR PLACE


In his first encounter
With his apostles
AFTER the resurrection
After they all
Deserted them
He says to them


“PEACE be with you
As the Father
Has sent me
So I send you” John 20:21


The human reaction
Would be
To be angry
At the apostles
But the GODLY reaction
Is to BLESS them


And MORE than that
He challenges us
To extend that SAME MERCY
To one another


“Be merciful
Just as your Father
Is merciful”


How can we be merciful
Towards others


Basically
By FOLLOWING CHRIST'SEXAMPLES
And living with
Corporal and spiritual acts
Of mercy


FEEDING the hungry
Clothing the naked


Visiting the sick and imprisoned
Sheltering the homeless
COMFORTING the sorrowful


And MOST of all
PRAY-PRAY-PRAY for others
And encourage them
And build them up


REFRAIN form gossiping
About them


And ALWAYS
Give someone another chance


After all
God has given us
Chance after chance


Give someone MERCY
Give them another chance


DON'T PASS JUDGMENT


“For I desire mercy
NOT sacrifice
And ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of God
Rather than burnt offerings” Hosea 6:6


“HE has showed you
Oh man-what is good


And what does the Lord
Require of you


To act justly and LOVE MERCY
And to walk HUMBLY
With your God” Micah 6:8


Give someone another chance
Give mercy


GIVE MERCY TODAY
