WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!
WHAT AN AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!
Our GREAT GOD=
Our creator is
AN AWESOME GOD
He can do anything=
HE CREATED the universe=
He created us=the world
And EVERYTHING in it
“For the Lord=the Most High
The AWESOME
Is the great king
Over ALL the earth” Psalm 47:3
We SERVE an AWESOME GOD!
Awesome is a word
USED all the time
In today's world
Maybe we are misusing it
Maybe we are WATERING
It down
MAYBE it is a word
That should be used
For totally awesome things
Like God=like OUR CREATOR
We truly SERVE
An AWESOME GOD=the
Creator of=
The RULER of all things
“In your majesty
Ride forth victoriously
In the cause of truth-
Humility-and justice
Let your right hand
Achieve AWESOME DEEDS” Psalm 45:4
“He provided redemption
For his people-
He ordained
His covenant forever-------
Holy and AESOME is his name” Psalm 111:9
“Lord=the great and AWESOME GOD
Who keeps
His covenant of love
With those who love him
And keep his commandments” Daniel 9:4
Our God=the MOST HIGH
The CREATOR of the universe=
What a truly AWESOME GOD=
We serve
But maybe our God
Likes the word-AWESOME-
Likes that=
We use it
For maybe we all
THINK of God=
When we use that word=
“AWESOME”
For wherever=there is truth
Wherever there is beauty
Wherever there is newness=
Creativity=laughter or love
There is
There is=OUR AWESOME GOD
That we serve
“If we are thrown
Into the blazing furnace
The God we SERVE
Is able
To deliver us from it
And he will deliver us
From your Majesty's hand” Daniel 3:17
“Each of you
Should use whatever gift
You have received
To SERVE OTHERS
As faithful stewards
Of GOD'S GRACE
In its various forms” 1 Peter 4:10
What a great God our
CREATOR IS
Wishing you an AWESOME DAY

“For the word of God
Is living and active
Sharper than any double-edged sword
It penetrates
Even to dividing soul and spirit---joints and marrow
It judges the thoughts and attitudes
of the HEART “ Hebrews 4:12
“The reason my Father loves me
Is that I lay down my life
---Only to take it up again
No one takes it from me
But I lay it down
Of my own accord
I have authority
To lay it down
And authority to take it up again
This command
I received from my Father” John 10:18
Today at 3pm---Jesus Christ laid down his human life
Only to pick it back up on Sunday
To live in eternity with his Father and us
A person is ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD

RESPONDING WITH A GRATEFUL YES
RESPONDING WITH A GRATEFUL YES
God made a PROMISE
To Mary=one that
Was FULL of mystery
Though Mary didn't UNDERSTAND
HOW the promise
Would be fulfilled
Or HOW
It would affect her life=
She responded with
A resounding YES
She received the PROMISE
Of God and said “YES”
“Blessed are you
Who believed
That what was spoken
To you-by the LORD
Would be FULFILLED” Luke 1:45
I think maybe
We ALL= can learn something
From this
The Lord makes PROMISES
To us=too
He promised us that
He would always be
With us=and he is=
With his ADVOCATE=his Holy Spirit
The Lord helps us
KEEP our promises too
I promised God=NOT KNOWING
If I would live to
Make another breath
“To LIVE for my family=friends=
And all people everywhere
IF I LIVED”
I will be 65 years old
Next January=God willing
“RESPONDING WITH A GRATEFUL YES”
“My comfort in my suffering
Is this
Your PROMISE=PRESERVES

“Hopes placed in mortals
Die with them
All the PROMISE
Of their power

“He redeemed us
In order
That the blessing
Given to Abraham
Might come to the GENTILES
Through Christ Jesus
So that by faith

The PROMISE of the Spirit” Galatians 3:14
And the Lord
Has left us with the ADVOCATE-
His HOLY SPIRIT
The Lord promised us
If we love him
We will bear FRUIT
And he PROMISED US
Our relationship with him
Will last FOREVER
So we are with him
Forever=
In life and death
“The Lord is NOT SLOW
In keeping his PROMISE
As some understand slowness
Instead=he is patient
With you
Not wanting anyone to perish
But everyone=
To come to repentance” 2 Peter 3:9
God's promises are full
Of mystery=like Mary
We DON'T KNOW
How they will
Be fulfilled=in our lives
ONLY THAT THEY WILL
But like Mary
We can RESPOND
With a trusting heart
And a GRATEFUL “YES”
Dear Lord=we are grateful
For the PROMISES of our life

YOU ARE THE WITNESSES!
YOU ARE THE WITNESSES!
Today is the FEAST
Of the ASCENSION
Of our LORD
He goes to see
The Father=today
We are left behind
As they were many
Years ago=they were
The WITNESSES of yesteryear
But we are the
WITNESSES TODAY=the witnesses
Of our Lord's birth=
His life and death=
And his RESURRECTION!
And we are to SHARE
The beauty and JOY
Of it
We are the witnesses=TODAY
“You are the
WITNESSES of these things
And behold I am
Sending the promise
Of my Father
Upon you
But stay=in the city
Until you are clothed
With power from on high” Luke 24:48-49
We are the witnesses
Of GOD'S GOODNESS=we are
The witnesses of the SON
Going to the Father
And because we are witnesses
We are CHANGED PEOPLE
Changed into BELIEVERS
“But if
They will not listen
Take one or two
Others along
So that
Every matter may be established
By the testimony
Of two or three WITNESSES” Matthew 18:16
“But you will receive power
When the Holy Spirit
Comes to you
And you will be my WITNESSES
In Jerusalem
And in all Judea
And Samaria
To the ENDS of the earth” Acts 1:8
And we are
The WITNESSES TODAY
We are
The BELIEVERS of today
We have RECEIVED the SPIRIT
And it is UP to us
To share the GOOD NEWS
Of the LORD=OUR LORD
Until it is received
And ACCEPTED
By everyone in this world
The Holy Spirit
Is INVITING US=just like
The original disciples
To SHARE the good news today
We are the BELIEVERS
The ones to SHARE the good news
In today's world
“........And giving joyful thanks
To the Father
Who has qualified you
To SHARE
In the inheritance
Of his holy people
IN the kingdom of light” Colossians 1:12
“And do not forget
To do good
And to SHARE
With others
For which sacrifices
God is pleased” Hebrews 13:16
MY DEAR FRIENDS=we are
The WITNESSES in today's world
We are to SHARE the GOOD NEWS
Of the Father=and his Son-Jesus
Dear Lord=HELP us to pay attention
To the good news=and SHARE IT
With everyone

MISSING THE POINT ( of life )
Are you like me
Do you find
That many of us
Are missing the point
Of God’s central theme
Of who he is
And what he is
Trying to teach us
And what he is
Trying to teach us
Is that he loves us
With an ever-lasting---never-ending
Kind of love
And that
He has mercy and compassion for us
Even in our deepest---darkest moments
GOD LOVES YOU
Love is patient
Love is kind
God loves you
The Lord appeared in the past saying,
“I have loved you
With an everlasting love
I have drawn you
With loving kindness” Jeremiah 31:3
Love does not boast
Love is not proud
Love is not rude
Love is not self-seeking
If we are living out our lives
On these qualities
Putting ourselves first
We are MISSING THE POINT
Of life
“A new command I give you:
Love one another
As I have loved you
So you must love one another
By this all men will know
That you are my disciples
If you love one another” John 13:34 & 35
Love is not easily angered
It keeps no record of wrong
Love does not delight in evil
But rejoices in the truth
And the truth
Shall set you free
And the truth is that
GOD LOVES YOU
It always protects
Always trusts
Always hopes
Always perseveres
If we live out our life
By loving him
If we live out our life
By loving others
We know that we won’t be
MISSING THE POINT

Because as 1 Corinthians 13 tells us

My dad liked whistling=he
Could really WHISTLE
A TUNE
I can't whistle=NOT a
Single bit
Thank God for the GLORY=
Thank God for
The green green grass=
Thank you for the SUNRISES=
The sunsets=
The oceans in this world
It all works
For the GLORY OF GOD
“Heaven and earth
Are FULL of your GLORY” Psalm 148
I love MUSIC=all types
It touches me=it makes me
FEEL=the glory of God
I hear the GLORY of God
In the sweet melodies
I am TOUCHED by
The glory of God
In it
ALL THINGS work for
The GLORY OF GOD
In this world
“Lord-our Lord
How majestic is your name
In all the earth!
You have set YOUR GLORY
In the heavens” Psalm 8:1
“Lord you have enlarged
The nation=Lord
You have
Enlarged the nation
You have gained
GLORY for yourself
You have
Extended all the borders
Of the land” Isaiah 26:15
“At that time
People will see
The Son of Man
Coming in clouds
With great power
And GLORY” Mark 13:26
Life is a great thing-
Or at least-
IT CAN BE
It is a lot like WHISTLING
A lot like MUSIC
The melodies of life
Are BEAUTIFUL
“And we know
That in all things
God works for the GOOD
Of those
Who love him
Who have been called
According to his PURPOSE” Romans 8:28
WHEREVER you are
In life=this day
This=this beautiful day
Give thanks for the
GLORY OF GOD
And LISTEN for the
Beautiful harmony and melodies
Of YOUR LIFE
I assure you they are there
We just have to LISTEN
For them
For if we cannot whistle=
We can still APPRECIATE those
Who can
LOVING and MISSING MY FATHER
“But grow in the grace
And knowledge
Of our Lord-
And Savior Jesus Christ
To him=BE GLORY=

IN US AND THROUGH US
IN US AND THROUGH US
Did you KNOW that Christ
Never actually left us?
That he left a PIECE
Of himself=behind for us
And it is called=his
HOLY SPIRIT=his ADVOCATE
And that this advocate
Lives IN US AND THROUGH US
And through this Advocate=
Through his HOLY SPIRIT we are
To CONVEY Christ=to convey
His LOVE=and our love
To all others in this world
“For if I do not go
The ADVOCATE=
Will not come to you
But if I go
I will SEND him to you” John 16:7
We know that Jesus
Was born=lived
And taught his disciples
For three years
And those same disciples=TAUGHT US
Through the gospels and epistles
Relying on Christ's teachings
To us=his modern day
21st century apostles
Do we actually REALIZE
That Jesus did NOT actually
Leave us?
Do we actually realize
Jesus is living IN US
And THROUGH US?
That when we offer a KIND WORD
Or a HELPING HAND=
We are actually being
Christ to ONE ANOTHER
We are living his TEACHINGS=
We are being his ADVOCATES
In this world=this modern day
21st century
“Even now my witness
Is in heaven
My ADVOCATE is on high” Job 16:19
“And I will ask the Father
And he will give you
Another ADVOCATE
To help you
And be with you FOREVER--------
The SPIRIT of truth” John 14:16-17
“But if anyone does sin-
We have an ADVOCATE
With the Father--------Jesus Christ-
THE RIGHTEOUS ONE” 1 John 2:1
YES=our Lord Jesus Christ
Lives in us
Lives IN US AND THROUGH US
We are the MODERN DAY DISCIPLES=
Mothers and Fathers-
Doctors and nurses-
Teachers and coaches
We are the ones
That are to TEACH OTHERS
Today
In the NAME of Jesus
He is in us
And he is WORKING through us
To touch all others
We are his DISCIPLES too!
“Therefore=go and make
DISCIPLES of all nations.......” Matthew 27:19
A disciple is a FOLLOWER
Of Jesus=and it is UP to us
To SPREAD THE WORD
To all people
In this MODERN DAY WORLD
After all=we are his ADVOCATES=
He is LIVING IN US and
THROUGH US
To spread the word of God=
To SPREAD THE WORD OF LOVE

Its cotton culler’s faded see,
Aroun’ the edges, ah, well
Guess it’s a lot like me.
It’s been in the dooryard nigh’ on
Four generations, Lord knows,
Attached to the Ole Pole awavin’
Any way the wind blows.
The Ole’ Flag can still bring on
A glow of emotion, a sigh
When it snaps to an’ stretches out
Like cloth pinned to the sky.
Its culler’s once were carried with pride
Aroun’ the world just ‘bout everywhere
In theatres of war where heroes died
So that others would breathe free air.
I’ve seen it in the sunrise
Sil’vry dew hung on the bars,
An’ against the golden sunset
That bursts into blindin’ stars.
The Ole’ Flag, how proud it flies
Yet half-mast would befit it best,
When this last ol’e soldier dies
An’ goes to his LONG rest

PREVAILING WITH GOD AND JESUS
Let's face it=life is
A TOUGH TEST=
The road is rough
And BUMPY
Health problems=financial problems=
The PROBLEMS with
Our relationships
But we can make it=
We can survive=if we
Take the RIDE
With God the FATHER
And Jesus
“I have told you THIS
So that you-
May NOT fall away” John 16:1
And Jesus PROMISES US
An additional HELP
In his absence
He promises the help of
His ADVOCATE=the help
Of the HOLY SPIRIT
Along the way
“When the ADVOCATE comes-
Whom I will send out
From the Father--------
The Spirit of TRUTH
Who goes out
From the Father--------
He will testify
About me
And you also must TESTIFY
For you have been with me
From the BEGINNING” John 15:26-27
It is a rough road=
THIS LIFE IS=there are
All sorts of problems
But the SPIRIT of God
Will take us places=
That we thought
We could never go
The Holy Spirit gives
Us CONFIDENCE=that we will
Not only stand tall-
But that we will PREVAIL
We will prevail
THROUGH this life
With the HELP of God
And the help of
The Holy Spirit
We will thrive
We will PREVAIL through
This life=
Thanks to the Holy Spirit
The Holy SPIRIT OF GOD
“He will guard
The feet
Of his faithful servants
But the wicked
Will be silenced
In the place
Of darkness
It is NOT by strength
That one PREVAILS” 1 Samuel 2:9
YES it is not
By strength that we
Survive this life
It is by the HOLY SPIRIT
Of GOD AND JESUS
That we prevail
“Many are the plans
In a person's heart
But it is the=LORD'S PURPOSE
That PREVAILS” Proverbs 19:21
Thank goodness
For the EASTER SEASON
Thank the Lord
It is seven weeks long
And thank God and Jesus=
We have the HOLY SPIRIT of God
That we can survive
AND PREVAIL through this
Tough-testing life

CHRIST IS PRESENT IN US
CHRIST IS PRESENT IN US
Every SUNDAY=at every
Christian service and every
Catholic Mass=Jesus Christ
Is PRESENT in all of us
In fact=he is PRESENT
In all of us=at all times
BELIEVERS OR NOT
It is EXACTLY for that reason
That we believers need to TREAT
Every human being=with dignity
And respect=AT ALL TIMES
“PEACE I leave with you=
My peace I GIVE to you” John 14:27
As we TURN toward each other
At Church on SUNDAY
We can give a ½ hearted
SIGN OF PEACE
Or we can give an
HONEST- SINCERE sign of peace
To one another
We need to CONVEY
The fact=that we
REALLY are Jesus Christ
For one another
In both=church on Sunday
And in
OUR every day lives
And so=as we give each other
The SIGN OF PEACE this Sunday
Let us do so
With a SMILE
And let us do so
With a heartfelt handshake
And EXCHANGE OF WORDS
Christ is PRESENT
In us=in each and
EVERY one of us
“For what
You have done
I will always praise you
In the PRESENCE
Of your faithful people
And I will hope
In your name
For your name
IS GOOD” Psalm 52:9
“After two days
He will revive us-
On the third day
He will restore us
That we may live
IN HIS PRESENCE” Hosea 6:2
“For Christ
Did not enter
A sanctuary
Made with human hands
That was only
A copy of the true one
He entered heaven itself
Now to appear for us
IN GOD'S PRESENCE” Hebrews 9:24
And as we leave CHURCH
This Sunday
Let us REMEMBER
To carry ourselves
With PEACE-to every single person
In this world
To convey a TRUE
Heartfelt feeling of caring
“To ALL in Rome
Who are loved by God
And called to be
His holy people
Grace and PEACE to you
From God our Father
And from
The Lord Jesus Christ” Romans 1:7

To all of you=in CHURCH
And I wish peace to all

Of your life=for CHRIST

Do you know
What the word martyr means
It means WITNESS
In this sense
A witness
That dies a literal death
But you don’t have
To physically die
To be a martyr
You just have to DIE to yourself
And your selfishness
In today’s world
YOU CAN BE
A living martyr
A witness
Gives evidence
Of WHO God is
And gives the evidence of truth
As to how
GOD AND CHRIST
Has changed our lives
And has worked in our lives
“YOU will receive power
When the Holy Spirit
COMES upon you
And you will be my WITNESSES

POPULAR OR NOT?
POPULAR OR NOT?
Our job in this WORLD
IS to be like Jesus=
To be A DISCIPLE
Of Jesus
It doesn't matter
IF we are successful-
It doesn't matter
If we are popular
BE LIKE Jesus=
Make the right decision-
Popular or not!=
LOVE LIKE Jesus
“........but because
You do NOT BELONG
To this world
And I have CHOSEN you
Out of the WORLD-
The world hates you” John 15:19
We tend to think-
IF we are POPULAR
We are successful
NOTHING could be further
From the truth=just because
We get LARGE NUMBERS=it
Doesn't mean we are
On the RIGHT TRACK
WHEN Jesus was crucified=
He was probably-
The LEAST POPULAR PERSON
On this earth
Yet he was LIVING on
The right track=and the
Father PROVED him to be right
Through his RESURRECTION
POPULAR OR NOT?=
But the right track
BE in the world-
But not
Of the world
“He rules the WORLD
In RIGHTEOUSNESS
And judges the people
With equity” Psalm 9:8
“I was formed
Long ago
At the very beginning
When the WORLD
Came to be” Proverbs 8:23
“For God
So loved the WORLD
That he gave his ONE
And only Son-
That whoever
Believes in him-
Shall NOT perish-

POPULAR OR NOT?=
Believe in God
Believe in Jesus
Do what IS RIGHT
NONE of us like it=
Or want to be rejected
But we should be WARY
Of doing things
Just to be WELL-LIKED
It takes GUTS to do
What is RIGHT-
It takes gut
To do what=GOD
Calls us to do
DO=WHAT IS RIGHT
In the first reading today-
In ACTS 16=we read about
PAUL and his companions
TRAVELING the road=the Father
Has called for them
We too=have been
CALLED=”OUT of the world”
To do what is RIGHT
“So that you may
Be PROVED RIGHT
When you speak
And PREVAIL when you judge” Romans3:4
Live to LIVE LIKE JESUS=
Out of love=forgiveness=
And kindness
DON'T play the numbers game
In this world
To be POPULAR
Let us CHOOSE what God is
Telling us to do=
POPULAR OR NOT?

Jesus was
A carpenter by trade
He could have built anything
A home, a building
Any of the 7 wonders
Of the world
But he taught us how
To build something
Much more important
He taught us how
To build a life
We are
Each the own carpenter
Of our life
And we can choose
What we put into our lives
We can choose
To put in love, forgiveness, and kindness
Or we can choose
Things like
Hatred, revenge, and indifference to others
Our Lord
Gave us the recipe
For a life that endures

Built on rock
Choose the other road
And we have a life
Built on sand
One thing is for certain
We will all be challenged
And tested in our life
Challenged by illness
Challenged by the death of a loved one
Challenged by a broken relationship
Or even just challenged
By the daily grind
One thing is for sure

AS I LOVE YOU!
AS I LOVE YOU!
Jesus broke ALL the
Ten Commandments=
Down to basically two
Love God=his and our FATHER=
And LOVE ONE ANOTHER
As I have loved you
And that is the KICKER=
Who can love
LIKE JESUS CAN?
“This is my commandment
Love one another=AS I
LOVE YOU” John 15:12
Just a single sentence=
Just a sentence that
Contains SO MUCH
It isn't easy to LOVE
ONE ANOTHER=because we are
All IMPERFECT=we all have
FAULTS
Yet there it is=we are
To love each other=love EVERYONE
The way Jesus does
GIVING up our own loves=our own
SELFISH ambition=for the wants
And needs of other human beings
THREE little words=
love one another
With the realization
AS I LOVE YOU
That is the MOST difficult part=
Loving others-
The ways in which HE LOVED US
“For I have always been mindful
Of your UNFAILING LOVE
And have lived
In reliance
On your faithfulness” Psalm 26:3
“Many claim to have
UNFAILING LOVE
But a faithful person
WHO can find?” Proverbs 20:6
I sure wish Jesus
WOULDN'T have added that phrase
“AS I LOVE YOU”
Who can love=with an
Unfailing love=like Jesus
I KNOW I CAN'T-
Though I try
Jesus RAISED the bar high
With his love=and he loves
EVERY single one
Of us
Jesus loves us compassionately-
Inclusively-UNCONDITIONALLY-consistently-
Joyfully=and sacrificially
It is HARD to
Love sacrificially=
It is hard to love
Someone else=and GIVE UP
A piece of ourselves
But that is WHAT
We have to do=
IF we are to
LOVE LIKE Jesus
Can our love measure up
To JESUS'?=probably not
But we=we have to CONTINUE
To TRY and love like him
“But to you who
Are listening=I say
'LOVE your enemies=do good
To those who hate you
BLESS those
Who curse you
Pray for those
Who mistreat you'” Luke 6:27-28
“No one has
Ever seen God
And if we=LOVE ONE ANOTHER
God lives in us
And his LOVE is
MADE COMPLETE IN US” 1 John 4:12
Dear Lord=we TRY
To love JUST LIKE YOU
But we fall short
For the times-we have

Contrary to the public opinion
In today’s world
There is a NEED FOR GOD
In our lives
In fact more today
Than ever before
More in our lives globally
More in our lives nationally
And more in our lives
Both in our families
And in our lives individually
Take a look around
Are you seeing
The same world that I am seeing
We have war in our streets
We have murder
We have rape
We have incest
And we have child abuse
Our families are NOT safe
Our children are NOT safe
And it is NOT safe to be on the streets
Of any major city in this country
And we have
MORE of a need for God
In our lives than ever before
“Do not be like them ( the pagans )
For your Father
Knows what you need
Before you ask him” Matthew 6:8
We have war among governments
We are having complete financial breakdowns
In many European countries
And yet the prevailing opinion is
For less God
In today’s world
The last time that I checked
It was not God
Who was responsible
For many of these things
It was us-but of course-WE KNOW BETTER
MORE GOD-not less
“Share with God’s people
Who are in need
Practice hospitality” Romans 12:13
MORE GOD-not less
Love God with your whole heart
Love your neighbor as yourself
Forgive 70x7
It doesn’t sound to me
Like God’s teachings
Lead to murder in the streets,
Rape, incest, or child abuse
It’s the me first-you last-or you never attitude
That exists in our world today
Selfishness
That is what gets us into trouble
Families breaking down-losing friendships
Over health, money, sex, and death
“He who despises his neighbor sins
But BLESSED is he
Who is kind to the needy” Proverbs 20:21
MORE GOD-not less
Leave the NAME OF GOD on money
Leave PUBLIC PRAYER in schools
Let us all
PRAY to the ONE true God
Whose name is LOVE
“So when you give to the needy
Do NOT announce it with trumpets
As the hypocrites do
In the synagogues
And on the streets
To be honored by man
I tell you the truth
They have received their reward in full” Matthew 6:2
More we-LESS I
MORE GOD-less me
We pray WITH GREAT NEED
To God
To my/our LORD and SAVIOR Jesus Christ

In GOD'S LOVE
How is your CONNECTION

Saint Rita
Is a SAINT for the impossible
Rita was a widow
Then later an Augustinian nun
She is considered to be
The patron Saint of Desperate Cases
As a child
Rita wanted to become a nun
But married
In deference to her parents’ wishes
Her husband—after marriage
Became violent and notoriously unfaithful
They had 2 sons together
And Rita endured
Her husband’s insults and unfaithfulness
For 18 years
One day
He was murdered
And his sons set out to avenge his death
They too died
Rita then became a nun
She prayed constantly and with meditation
So intensely
That a wound appeared on her forehead
As though
She was pierced by a crown of thorns
She died of tuberculosis
And after her death
Her reputation for holiness and miracles
Continued to spread
Her body
Remains incorrupt even today
Today-along with saint Jude
She is known
As the patron of impossible cases
She is also known
As the patron for difficult marriages
Particularly where the husband
Is violent or unfaithful
Her feast day is May 22nd
And includes

RESIST GOD'S HELP

We can do it

Jesus put it BLUNTLY

And I in him

It reminds me of
The STORY= where a man
Was drowning=
And the man was WAITING
For God to HELP=and
Didn't help himself
FINALLY God says=”I sent
You=three boats and a helicopter=
What more do you want?”
We all NEED God's help
To just get by=but we
Need to TAKE IT
When it comes

He offers us a TENDER GOODBYE=
Full of LOVING CARE

He offers us words
Of COMFORT=and of PROMISE-
And he BLESSES us
With the gift of PEACE
And tells us
NOT to be afraid
He speaks of his
PROFOUND CONNECTION to the Father-

WE WERE MADE for finding God in our lives-and once we find him-we are to HOLD on to him-ALL the days of our life-and NEVER LET GO
GOD grants us 70 years-80 if are strong-and some of us-even get a little more TIME than that-but we should TREASURE our time with God-treasure our time with others-LOVE-LOVE-LOVE-as much as you can-for that is THE ONLY THING that makes a lasting difference in this world-and we KNOW-through the life of Jesus Christ that LOVE NEVER DIES
And when life gets tough-WHEN life gets difficult-SIMPLY SERVE your TIME on your knees-but NEVER let go OF THE PRESENCE of God-he really IS the VINE-and we really are the branches-he will lead us back to our feet
ABIDE IN GOD-abide in Christ-GIVE all your time to LOVING THEM-and LOVING OTHERS-and your LIFE-your time on earth-WILL MAKE a lasting difference in this world
it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day for giving OUR TIME to God-who will DRAW US closer and closer to him-ALL the days of our life

But we need to REMEMBER-
WHERE our talent and ability
Come from
We need to remember
That EVERYTHING we have
COMES FROM God

In a reading from ACTS today=
We read about Saint Paul
HEALING a cripple
And Paul implores the crowd=
“WE ARE HUMAN”
And that is
WHAT we need to remember too
No matter how GREAT
Our ability-
No matter how great
Our talent
WE ARE HUMAN
Like the PSALM says today
GIVE God the GLORY
For our abilities
“I will GLORY
In the Lord
Let the afflicted
Hear and rejoice” Psalm 34:2
“Let them
GIVE GLORY to the Lord
And proclaim his praise
In the islands” Isaiah 42:12
“When the SON of Man
Comes in his GLORY
And all the ANGELS

A LITTLE TENDERNESS
In the first chapter
Of Saint Paul's letter to Timothy
Paul gives Timothy some ADVICE
He lists the qualities
That a disciples of Jesus
Should possess-and ONE of
These qualities is GENTLENESS-or
Tenderness-if you prefer
TRY a little gentleness-
A little tenderness in your dealings
With people
It CAN go a long way
“But you-man of God
Pursue righteousness-devotion-
Faith-love-patience-and GENTLENESS” 1 Timothy 6:11
And it is also LISTED
In the FRUITS of the spirit-as-
ONE of the qualities
That a follower of Christ
Should have
“But the fruit of the SPIRIT
Is love-joy-peace-forbearance-
Kindness-goodness-GENTLENESS-and self-control
Against such things

As a Christian follower-

He has even called for:

And IF you are thinking
That that is weak-
LISTEN to what Pope Francis said
“Tenderness is NOT
The virtue of the weak
But rather a SIGN of strength”
BE GENTLE in your walk
As a Christian
You can still
Get the job done
TRY A little tenderness
Gentleness is a quality-
That BELONGED to Christ-and-
A quality of God's
“By the humility and gentleness
Of Christ-
I appeal to you-
I-Paul-who am “timid”
When face to face with you
But “bold” toward you when away!” 2 Corinthians 10:1
“Take my yoke upon you
And LEARN from me
For I am gentle

God's PROMISES still
Stand tall
And God GIVES US
A new day
To make all things=NEW

“The days are coming,”
Declares the Lord

Declare a NEW COVENANT
With the people
Of Israel
With the people
Of Judah” Jeremiah 31:31
This EASTER season-
Let us live each day
With NEW compassion
With NEW HOPE=and plan
To persevere EVERY DAY
In our faith
With Jesus
NOTHING stands in the way
Of God's MERCY and LOVE=
Unless we plan on
CLINGING to our
Guilt=grief and anger
Just like a NEW SUNRISE
Every day=God is giving
Us NEW HOPE TODAY
To begin anew
And make all things
Turn out
For the GLORY OF GOD
“May those who fear you
REJOICE=when they
See me
For I have put
My HOPE
In your word” Psalm 119:74
“Be joyful in HOPE
Patient in affliction-
Faithful in prayer” Romans 12:12
RIGHT in front
Of our
Very own eyes
GOD is making all
THINGS NEW
Today is a NEW DAY and
We need to make the BEST of it
IN THE LORD

LOOKING FOR THE GOOD NEWS IN LIFE
LOOKING FOR
THE GOOD NEWS IN LIFE
We live in a fallen world-
A world FULL of sin
IT is hard to FIND
The GOOD NEWS in life
You read the daily newspaper
Or watch the news on TV
And the world
Is ripe with stories of:
murder-child molestation-violent crimes-
And EVERY kind of white collar crimes
That there is:
Fraud-deceit-libel and slander-and on-
And on-and on
WHERE do we find the good news
In the world?
Where do we find our HOPE?
WE FIND it in God-
We find it in Jesus-
We find it ONLY in God
Where the REAL HOPE is
For this world
Yet the world
Doesn't want to believe it now
Just as it didn't want
To believe it 2,000 years ago
“Jesus said,
'….....no prophet
Is ACCEPTED in his own native place'” Luke 4:24
LOOKING for the good news
In LIFE
After John
Was put in prison
Jesus went to Galilee
And PREACHED the good news
From God
“'The right time has come,'
He said,
'The kingdom of God
Has come near,
Repent and BELIEVE the good news'” Mark 1:14-15
Believe the good news
It is NEAR
It is as close
As God and Jesus
Is to us
ALL we have to do
Is OPEN our hearts
That is where they LIVE
“LIGHT in a messenger's eyes
Brings JOY to the heart
And good news
Gives health to the bones” Proverbs 15:30
Believe the good news
Of the Lord
Bring HEALTH to your body-
To your mind-
And to your spirit
“........The people were looking
For him
And WHEN they came
To where he was
They tried to keep him
From leaving them
But he said,
'I must PROCLAIM
the good news
Of the kingdom of God
To the other towns
Because that is why
I was sent'” Luke 4:42-43
Do you ever feel that way
FEEL like Jesus?
I KNOW that I do
I know that I feel
MY PURPOSE in life
Is to tell-
The GOOD NEWS of the Lord
ALL OVER AGAIN
To anyone and EVERYONE in life
That will listen
What could be more important
Than our salvation?
Than LIVING for all of eternity
With God and Jesus
WELL we have the good news
Of the world-that we see and hear everyday
And we have the GOOD NEWS of the Lord
In the bible-maybe more of us
Should take the time
TO OPEN IT UP
Dear Lord-WE PRAY
HELP us to be unconcerned
About what others think of us-
About we say and do
And to SHARE the good news
Of the Lord
WE are all looking
To FIND the good news
In life
Dear Lord-The GOOD NEWS IN LIFE

COURAGEOUSLY TRUSTING IN THE LORD!
COURAGEOUSLY TRUSTING IN THE LORD!
Do you have
COMPLETE TRUST
In God the Father?
Complete trust in Jesus?
I do=I mean=IF it
IS in line with God's
PLAN for my life=
Our life=the GOOD
Of all mankind
“If you ask anything of me
In MY NAME=
I will do it” John 14:14
I do have COMPLETE TRUST
In God=to make all things RIGHT
But I have to say
This verse
IS a little bit puzzling
It seems to be saying-
IF we ask right=
All things will be granted
But we know
That this is
NOT always true
Nevertheless=we have
To approach the Lord
With CONFIDENCE
We have to UNDERSTAND
That the Lord
Does KNOW what is BEST
For us=and for ALL OF MANKIND
We have to approach the Lord
With TRUST=
COMPLETELY TRUSTING
In the Lord
“He TRUSTS in the Lord
They say=
'Let the Lord
Rescue him
Let him=deliver him
Since he delights
IN HIM'” Psalm 22:8
“Whoever gives heed
To instruction prospers
And blessed is the one
Who TRUSTS in the Lord” Proverbs 16:20
“See I lay
A stone
In Zion
A chosen and
Precious cornerstone
The one who TRUSTS
In him
Will never be put
To shame” 1 Peter 2:6
I have PRAYED for things
That have NOT happened
Nevertheless=I pray and PICTURE
Jesus beside me=
Working everything out
For my BEST INTERESTS
I picture Jesus saying=
“I am with you in this”
Sometimes what we PRAY FOR
Are NOT
In our own best interests
Picturing God the Father
Picturing Jesus working everything
Out-for what
Is IN
My best interest
For what is IN
OUR best interests
COURAGEOUSLY TRUSTING
IN THE LORD!
“For it is time
For judgment=to begin
With God's household
And if it begins
With us
What will the OUTCOME BE
For those=who do not obey
The gospel of GOD?” 1 Peter 4:17
The outcome may NOT
Always be what I/we want
But some kind of GOOD-
ALWAYS comes out of it
In Jesus' name=and in the name=of God OUR HOLY FATHER

THE LIGHT WE ARE TO FOLLOW
THE LIGHT WE ARE TO FOLLOW
Today we read-
ONE of the CLASSIC LINES
In all of Scripture
“I am the way
And the truth
And the LIFE
No one comes
To the Father
Except through me” John 14:6
I have to CONFESS=
For years=before I
STARTED reading the bible
I never knew
IF the word=was LIGHT
Or LIFE
For the record=
It is LIFE
But it makes no difference-
For Jesus is the LIFE=
And he is the LIGHT
Which we are to FOLLOW
He is the light
And we are INSTRUCTED
In Matthew 14
Not to hide
Our light either
SHINE YOUR LIGHT
On Jesus
Follow the ONE TRUE LIGHT
“You Lord-
Keep my LIGHT burning
My God turns
My darkness into LIGHT” Psalm 18:28
“You are
The LIGHT of the world
A town
Built on a hill
CANNOT be hidden” Matthew 5:14
“The night is
Nearly over
The day is almost here
So let us put aside
The deeds of darkness
And put on
The armor of LIGHT” Romans 13:13
Jesus is the light
We are to FOLLOW
He is the LIVING GOD
Who does
Give us LIFE
Jesus' disciples call themselves
The FOLLOWERS of
The WAY
We too=the 21st century disciples
Are the followers of
THE WAY
The followers of Jesus TODAY-
Jesus' IDENTITY=LOVE=is to be
Our path too=
We are to follow in LOVE=
In KINDNESS=and in FORGIVENESS
Just like Jesus
“Surely your goodness and love
Will FOLLOW ME
All the days
Of my life
And I will dwell
In the house
Of the LORD FOREVER” Psalm 23:6
The Lord JESUS-
IS my life
He is everything
I wish I could be
I DEVOTE my life
To him-
And I will FOLLOW HIM
And his WAYS forever
PRAYING FOR=and to LIVE with
THE LIGHT and SPIRIT=
We are to FOLLOW
In Jesus' name=and in the name of our ALL LIGHT-and LIFE-GIVING FATHER

PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL
PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL
Do you know
That God's love for you
Is PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL
Nothing that you can do
To interfere with his love
For you
HIS LOVE-for you
Has NO reservations
“The Pharisees went out
And immediately took counsel
With the Herodians
Against Jesus
To put him to death” Mark 3:6
There is an odd conspiracy
At work here
The Pharisees-so pure-
That they are untouchable
And the Herodians-
Contaminated-are united-
By their hatred of Jesus
They have sworn to kill him
Hatred kills-LOVE heals everything
Some people hate the idea
Of a PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL loving God
So much-they just hate God
Jesus HEALS the man
With the withered hand
On the Sabbath
Jesus' LOVE for the poor man
Is pure and unconditional
And ours should be
For each other too
“Create in me-
A PURE HEART-O God
And renew a steadfast spirit
Within me” Psalm 51:10
“The Lord detests
The thoughts of the wicked
But gracious words
Are PURE in his sight” Proverbs 15:26
HATE conspired to kill Jesus
And it did
Albeit temporarily
But LOVE HEALS
Love encourages
And LOVE INSPIRES
And that Is WHERE
Our CHRISTIAN LOVE should be
ENCOURAGING AND INSPIRING others
To live great Christian lives
“Finally brothers and sisters-rejoice
Strive for full restoration
ENCOURAGE one another
Be of one mind
Live in peace
And the God
Of LOVE AND PEACE
Will be with you” 2 Corinthians 13:11
And our PRAYERS for others
Should be PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL too
Just as GOD'S LOVE for us-IS
WE should have the courage
To pray
For those who ignore us
To pray for those
Who scold us
And even PRAY for those
Who doubt us and hate us
Just as Jesus did
Finally-Dear Lord-
LET our prayers for others
Be PURE and UNCONDITIONAL
And encourage and inspire others
Just as Jesus' was

BREAKING DOWN THE BARRIERS!
BREAKING DOWN THE BARRIERS!
We live in a DIVISIVE WORLD=
That is becoming more so
Every day
And we need to BUILD a
UNIFIED WORLD=by concentrating
On the ONE GOD-
The ONE LORD=
Whose name is LOVE
Whatever vehicle you USE
You need=we NEED
To get to the point
Of concentrating on the ONE GOD=
The one Lord
Whose name is love
For me=that VEHICLE=will
Always BE our Lord and
SAVIOR=Jesus Christ
“When Jesus had washed
The disciples' feet-
He said to them=
'Amen-amen=I say to you=
NO slave is greater
Than his master
NOR any messenger-
Greater than the one
Who sent him'” John 13:16
Jesus tells us
In his words=and with
His actions-
That we are ALL EQUAL
IN GOD'S EYES
NEITHER slave nor master
Has an advantage
Over any other person
There is just so much DIVISION
In this world=and we all
Want to lord what we have-
We need to END THIS=and
Concentrate on UNITY in this world
BREAKING DOWN THE BARRIERS!
“How good and pleasant it is
When God's people-
Live together IN UNITY” Psalm 133:1
“I have given them
The glory
That you gave me
That they may be ONE
As we are one--------
In them
And you and me--------
So that they may be brought
To COMPLETE UNITY” John 17:22-23
“........until we
All reach UNITY
In the faith
And in the knowledge
Of the SON of God
And become mature
Attaining the whole measure
Of the FULLNESS
Of Christ” Ephesians 4:13
BREAK DOWN THE BARRIERS!=
Break down the divisions
ONE FAITH=one Church
Under the GOD OF LOVE
Maybe we need
To BEND DOWN a little more
Like Jesus=
Maybe we need to LIVE
With a little
MORE HUMILITY
Maybe we actually
NEED to live
The living GOSPEL=
Like the God of life
“You make known
To me
The path of LIFE
You will fill me
With joy
In your presence
With eternal pleasures
At the right hand” Psalm 16:11
We live in a world
That is CRYING for attention
That is dying=literally dying
For UNITY
BREAK DOWN THE BARRIERS!
In Jesus' name=and in the name of our all living=ALL LOVING FATHER
