SUFFERING

 

 

What do you do

With your suffering

 

What do you do

With your cross

 

In our Lord’s day

Capital punishment

Consisted of hanging

On a cross in front of everyone

 

Today it is the electric chair

Or lethal injection

 

But the essence

The true essence of the cross

Is anything

That causes

Anguish of the mind

Or desolation of the spirit

 

Is there something

In your life

Causing you

Anguish of the mind

Or desolation of the spirit

 

Heaven knows

There are many things

In today’s world

That causes

Anguish of the mind

And desolation of the spirit

 

But there is an answer

To this anguish and desolation

And the answer is

God and Christ

 

So

Do not suffer alone

Pick up

Your cross

And share it with

God and your neighbor

 

Jesus said

Pick up your cross

And come follow me

 

DO NOT SUFFER ALONE
