SISTER MARIA FAUSTINA KOWALSKA

 

 

Her name

Is forever linked

To the annual feast

Of the DIVINE MERCY

Celebrated the 2^nd Sunday of Easter

And at the Divine Mercy prayer

Celebrated each day at 3pm

 

Born August 25th, 1905

In now west central Poland

Helena was the third of ten children

 

She worked

 

As a housekeeper

In three cities

Before joining

The congregation of The Sisters

Of Our Lady of Mercy in 1925

 

While there

She worked as a cook, a gardener, and porter

 

She had

A DEEP interior life

In addition

To serving the need of the sisters

And the local people

 

Many Catholics at that time

Had a deep fear of God

And thought

That they could not be forgiven

 

Jesus-appearing to Sister Maria Faustina

Once told her

 

“I do not

Want to punish aching mankind

But I desire to heal it

Pressing it to my merciful heart”

 

Sister Maria

Wrote in her diary

 

“Neither graces-nor revelations-nor raptures

-Nor gifts granted to a soul

Make it perfect

 

But rather

The intimate union of the soul

With God

 

These gifts

Are mercy ornaments

Of the soul

But constitute

Neither its essence nor its perfection

 

My sanctity and perfection

Consist of the close union

Of my will

With the will of God”

 

Jesus loved us so much

Had so much mercy on us

That he preferred to die for us

Than to see us spend eternity in suffering

 

“Because judgment without mercy

Will be shown to anyone

Who has not been merciful

 

Mercy triumphs over judgment!”                                                    James 2:13

 

Sister Maria Faustina

Died of tuberculosis in 1938

 

Pope John Paul II

Beatified her in 1993

And canonized her 7 years later

 

We thank Sister Faustina

For her revelations of our Lord’s mercy

For all of us

And we thank our Lord

For BEING a merciful God

 

As Psalm 136 says

“God’s LOVE (God’s mercy ) ENDURES FOREVER”

AROUND THE WORLD

Think about it

What greater thing

Can you GIVE to someone

Than MERCY

What can you give someone

That would be greater

Than Jesus gave us

“So the eyes

Look to the Lord

OUR GOD

Till he shows us HIS MERCY”

“Have MERCY on us

O LORD

Have mercy on us

For we have ENDURED much contempt”                                      Psalm 123:2-3

Give someone mercy

What God gave you

COMING BACK FROM FAILURE

 

 

 

 

 

No matter who you are, you are going to fail in life-from time

To time.  You are going to fail in your personal relationships-or

With people from time to time.  It is just a fact of life.

 

The question is:  can you rebuild?  Can you come back from failure?

How much faith in God do you have?  How much persistence and

Perseverance do you have?

 

The answers to these questions will determine if you can come back or not.

Ps         For us Christians, the key is keeping our yoke tied to Christ.  He had

             The ultimate failure-by human standards.  But yet he had the ultimate

             Triumph by God’s standards-because he never took his eye off of the

             Key ingredient—which is LOVE—LOVE OF GOD AND LOVE OF

             OTHERS.

 

As Saint Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:8—“LOVE NEVER FAILS”

 

“Three remain—faith, hope, and love.  But the greatest of these is LOVE.”

1 Corinthians 13:13

 

The life, the death, and the RESURRECTION is of Jesus Christ is the proof.

Keep your yoke tied to Christ,

A REMINDER OF WHO WE ARE

 

 

Sometimes

We need not be instructed

So much

As reminded

As to who we are

 

 

We need to be

CONSTANTLY reminded

That we are

CHILDREN OF GOD

 

“Yet to all

Who received him

To those

Who believed in his name

He gave the right

To become children of God-

 

Children born

Not of natural descent

-nor of human decision

Or a husband’s will

BUT BORN OF GOD”                                         1 Luke:12-13

 

We need

To hear again and again

That we are

CHILDREN OF GOD

That Christ

Gave his body-soul-and spirit

For ALL of us

 

In the Epistle of Saint Paul

We hear the term-

“IN CHRIST”-155 times

 

“So “in Christ” all will be made alive”                 1 Corinthians 15:22

 

Christ didn’t live and die for the Jewish faith

For the Catholic faith

For the Christian faith

BUT FOR ALL

 

“These are a shadow

Of the things

That were to come

 

The reality-however

Is found IN CHRIST”                                             Colossians 2:17

 

And on and on and on

 

Truly Children of God

IN CHRIST

 

Life-by definition-must be lived

And the reality is

That God is in each of us

That God’s life is in us

And that God is our FATHER

 

The reality is

That God is MADLY in love with you

That he is living in you

And he loves you

“Like there is no one else”

 

He gives us his heart

And he gives us a home

He prepares a place

For us to come and live with him

At the end of our lives

 

                   HEAVEN

 

A place

Where we can

Live in perfect happiness

And in eternal communion with HIM

 

“Their mind is on earthly things

But our citizenship is in heaven”                                       Philippians 3:19-20

 

We are heirs

Truly heirs

To the Kingdom of God

 

There once was a nurse

Who married a common man

During the war

 

After the war

She found out

He was Lord of the manor

With servants

And endless wealth

 

And she cried

And she cried

TEARS OF JOY

 

“Why didn’t you tell me?” she said

“I wanted you to love me for myself,” he responded

 

And that

Is how we will be

When we-CHILDREN OF GOD

Enter our home with our Father

 

“The spirit himself

Testifies that we are God’s children”                                         Romans 8:16

 

Now if we are God’s children

Then we are his heirs

Heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ

And if indeed we share in his sufferings

We will ALSO SHARE in his glory

 

Dear Lord-WE YOUR CHILDREN

Pray that your light

Will be seen in us

WHAT DOES THE RESURRECTION MEAN TO YOU?

 

 

 

 

 

 

KEEPING OUR EYES ON JESUS!=or what=

DOES THE RESURRECTION MEAN TO YOU?

 

DID you ever stop and Think==IF Jesus’ RESURRECTION=Never did happen?=

What a DIFFERENT world this would BE=How different your LIFE would be?=Would you=

Have the SAME FAITH?=The same HOPE?=and the SAME LOVE=you have right now?=

I doubt that You would=I KNOW I=WOULD NOT!=My whole life=REVOLVES=Around

Jesus Christ=and his FATHER=and the FAITH-HOPE and LIFE=Because  of OUR LOVING
GOD!=Keeping my=KEEPING OUR EYES ON JESUS!=”I set the Lord=EVER BEFORE ME=With

Him at my right hand=I shall NOT be disturbed”                                                                           Psalm 16:8

 

It TOOK the DISCIPLES=a little while=AFTER the Resurrection=to ABSORB the truth=JESUS

DID RESURRECT!=From the dead=some 2,000 years ago=WE=2,000 years later=Tend to

TAKE=The RESURRECTION for granted=THE SINS of all HUMANITY=took Jesus to the CROSS=

That INCLUDES MY sins and yours!=WHAT DIFFERENCE=Does The RESURRECTION of the Lord=

Make in your life?=”For there is=NO DIFFERENCE=Between Jew and Gentile=The same Lord=is

LORD OF ALL=--------and richly BLESSES all who call on him”                                             Romans 10:12

“There are DIFFERENT KINDS=of gifts=But the same SPIRIT distributes them=There are DIFFERENT

Kinds of service=But the same Lord=There are DIFFERENT KINDS of working=But in all of them=

And in  everyone=Is the SAME God at work”                                                                          1 Corinthians  12:4-6

 

FEAR is a NATURAL component=Of our lives=I would have SO MUCH more fear=If I did  not

Have=Jesus’ RESURRECTION  of LIFE and love= to HOLD on to=With the RESURRECTION of life=We

CAN make it=THROUGH all our fear=KEEP your EYES ON THE LORD=Keep your EYES=

On the Resurrection=HOLD on to that  JOY=Hold on to=THAT IMAGE OF JESUS CHRIST!=and

We CAN make it through ANYTHING  TOGETHER!

“Does he=Who fashioned the ear=NOT HEAR?=Doe he=Who FORMED the EYE=

NOT SEE?”                                                                                                                                                       Psalm 94:9

“OPEN MY EYES=That I may SEE=Wonderful things in your law”                                      Psalm 119:18

“WOE TO ME!’=I cried=’I am ruined!=For I am a man of unclean lips=and I live among a  people=

Of unclean lips=and MY EYES=have seen the King=THE LORD ALMIGHTY’”         Isaiah 6:5

 

Do NOT TAKE=the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ=for granted=BELIEVE HE LIVES!=We can too=

You can=I can=we ALL CAN==IF we UNTITE our Faith=Hope=and LOVE=with the RESURRECTION

Of Jesus Christ=and the LOVE=of the Holy Father God!=”For it has been=GRANTED TO YOU=

On behalf of Christ=Not only to BELIEVE in him=But also to suffer for him=Since you are going=

Through the same struggle=You saw I had=and now hear=That I still have”                    Philippians 1:29

Because the Lord RESURRECTED=and CONTINUES to LIVE=We can LIVE IN LOVE=

In our hearts=In our minds=and in our souls=WITH LOVE for the Lord=for ourselves=and for

ALL of our sisters and brothers=This is the PATH OF LOVE=the Path that Jesus Christ himself

Took!

 

That is=THIS IS=THE DIFFERENCE the RESURRECTION=MAKES in my life=and in yours=and in

ALL OF US!=KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE LORD!

In Jesus’ Name=and in the name=Of our ever LIVING =ever Loving=ever HELPING
