Do you remember

The parable

Of The Prodigal Son

He needed

A second chance

And his father

Gave him one

What about you

Do you need

A second chance

Another try at life

Another try at love

Don’t give up

God will give you

Another chance

Our God

Is the God of second chances

And third, and, fourth, and fifth

Chances too

So take a chance

On God

Take a chance

On love

Take a chance

On life

Be like the Prodigal Son

Don’t be afraid

To come home again

Are you a CHRISTIAN/and or a CATHOLIC=Either way=You should BE SHINING=

For you are something DIFFERENT=People should be=SAYING about you=”I WANT

What that gal or guy has”=Do people get YOUR LIGHT?=You are a LIGHT=each and

EVERYONE of you=and you should be SHINING=”In the same way=Let YOUR LIGHT

SHINE=Before others=That they may see=Your good deeds=and glorify=Your Father

IN HEAVEN” Matthew 5:16

WHEN you were a child=Or even when=You were an ADULT==Your sponsors and

You=Received from the priest or minister=A candle as they said=”RECEIVE the

LIGHT of Christ”=IF you are not shining=what is wrong?=If you are a LIGHT=You need

To Be SHINING=God’s LIGHT OF LOVE=Jesus’ Light of love=all around you=You are

A CHRISTIAN=and You NEED to SHINE=and to show people=That the LIGHT OF GOD=

Lives in you!

“You Lord are my lamp=The Lord turns my darkness INTO LIGHT” 2 Samuel 22:29

“For you=Have delivered me from death=and my feet from stumbling=That I may

Walk before God=IN THE LIGHT OF LIFE” Psalm 56:13

“The people walking in darkness=Have seen a GREAT LIGHT=Of those living in=the

Land of deep darkness=A LIGHT has dawned” Isaiah 9:2

GOT A LIGHT?=Oh YES you do!=Whether or not=You are USING it or not May be

A DIFFERENT MATTER=But you have been BAPTIZED=You have the LIGHT OF CHRIST=

Living in you=You NEED TO SHINE!

Are we OFFERING God’s love=to those around us?=Are we SPREADING GOD’S LOVE all around?=

Do NOT=Take your light for granted=This world is=A deep dark place=Take that Light of God=

That is LIVING inside of you=and set the world on FIRE!=If you are a Light=You need to=

LET IT SHINE!

“This is the verdict=LIGHT has come into the world=But people loved darkness=Instead of

LIGHT=Because their deeds were evil” John 3:19

“For God who said’=’LET LIGHT=shine out of darkness’=Made his Light=SHINE IN OUR
HEARTS=to give us the Light of=The knowledge=Of God’s glory=Displayed in=the face of

Christ” 2 Corinthians 4:6

“This is the Message=we have heard=From him=and declare to you=GOD IS LIGHT =in

Him=there is NO DARKNESS at all” 1 Peter 1:5

My friends=My dear SISTERS AND BROTHERS=It is a BIG BAD=I mean Bad awful world out

There=So TURN ON=Your light=IN your small CORNER of the world=You could be INSPIRING

OTHERS=and be GIVING them the HOPE=to keep on going=The world needs TO SEE=THAT

LIGHT=from all Christians=Regardless of your denomination=If you are a Christian turn on=

Your LIGHT=If you are a CATHOLIC=TURN ON your light=This world=COULD BE=On fire=

Because of you=GOT A LIGHT?

“The city does NOT need=The sun=or the moon=TO SHINE on it=For the Glory of God=

GIVES IT LIGHT=and the LAMB=is its LIGHT……..” Revelation 21:23

Let us ALL=TURN ON=Our lights for God!=The world NEEDS to see you/me/US

CRAZY LIKE A FOX

CRAZY LIKE A FOX

My grandfather, Carl, was an interesting man. I don’t think too many people would

Argue with me if I said he was a little bit mean and ornery. But he liked me.

He played sandlot football-middle linebacker-until he was 50 years old. At 23, he

Was offered a professional baseball contract to play for the New York Giants. He

Turned it down to marry my grandmother, Ruth. There wasn’t a lot of money in

Professional sports in those days.

My main memories of my grandfather, Carl, was when he was an older man and

Lived with us.

He used to sit in the red swivel chair in our living room and swat everyone with his cane.

In fact, my mother had 2 brothers, each with three kids. One set of kids he would swat

With his cane. The other set he would let go by.

My mom and dad both worked. When they would go to bed, he would turn all the lights

On and off and make as much noise as he could. There were a couple of times that I

Thought my father was going to kill him. In fact, he became so difficult my parents

Tried to put him in the Little Sisters of the Poor. But when dad took him on the Interview, he wouldn’t open his eyes. The nuns said he would be too difficult for

Them. And then, on the way home, he shoplifted two packages of razor blades.

I really thought dad would kill him that time.

My grandfather never went out alone. After he died, we found out that after we all

Went to work and school, he went to the Garden theater. The Garden theater was an

x-rated pornographic theater.

For all his nastiness, I will always love my grandfather. He is probably the reason I am

Alive today. When I was 22, and was given 0% chance to live, my grandfather prayed

That God would take him instead of me. The day that I left Saint John’s hospital, my

Grandfather took a stroke and went into Saint John’s hospital. He died two weeks later.

I never saw him alive again.

I can’t tell you how many times that I have thought of him over the past 30 years.

I love you granddad.

Today is the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes---a day of miracles. Though I have always been ill---I know it was a miracle that I walked out of Saint John’s hospital---

This day in 1977.

My grandfather prayed that God would take him instead of me.

On February 26^th, 1977, God did.

February 11^th, 2026=will be the 49th ANNIVERSARY of MY MIRACLE

OUR LADY OF LOURDES-I WILL NEVER FORGET

Our Lady of Lourdes

Is a title for the Blessed Virgin Mary

Used by Roman Catholics

In honor of apparitions of Mary

And for many miracles

That are said to have occurred there

At Lourdes, France

On the evening

Of January 18^th, 1977

I developed a tremendous pain/ pressure

In my groin area

And I was admitted to the hospital

The next day

I WILL NEVER FORGET

I was rushed

To emergency surgery

The next day

With a perforated bowel

I WILL NEVER FORGET

The first apparition

Of Our Lady of Lourdes

Was made February 11^th, 1858

By Bernadette Soubirous

A 14-year-old peasant girl

Who admitted to her mother

That a “lady”

Spoke to her

In the cave of Massabielle

About a mile from her home

The apparition of the “lady”

Were reported

On seventeen further occasions

That year

After the surgery

I laid there

For two weeks

With tubes coming

Out of every orifice in my body

In a state between life and death

I WILL NEVER FORGET

The apparition

Asked Bernadette to dig in the ground

And drink

From the spring she found there

And she did

From that day onward

That spring

Has produced 27,000 gallons of water per week

My health

Took a turn for the worse

Dr. Christian was called in

To work on me

And Father Newell was called in

To administer the Sacrament for the Sick

My temperature

Reached as high as 108 degrees

And my blood count went down to three

And I had many blood transfusions

It looked like death was imminent

I WILL NEVER FORGET

Many miracles have occurred

At Our Lady of Lourdes

Some proven authentic miracles

And many not reported at all

The day

I walked out of the hospital

Was February 11^th, 1977

The day of the first reported vision

At Lourdes, France in 1858

I will testify FOR GOD

And give thanks TO GOD

For every day

Of the REST of my life

I WILL NEVER FORGET

GOD’S PLAN

When I tried

To follow my own plan

I didn’t get anywhere

I didn’t know where to stand

Follow God’s plan

God’s plan will get you through

Follow God’s plan

And He’ll make you new

His plan won’t get you stuck

His plan will get you through

His plan will lead you

When there is

Nothing else to do

When you

Try to think God

There’s nothing left to self

You put your ego

Up on the shelf

And let God’s word take hold

His plan

Is not about money

His plan

Is not about sex

His plan

Is all that matters

His plan

Is about true happiness

Live out of love

Live out of goodness

Let the past behind

Forget about

All the should have hads

Follow God’s plan

God’s plan will get you through

Have you---Like me

Ever wondered

If your one little life

Is of any value to God

Your value to God

Is infinite

Your value to God

Is forever

In Luke 15

Jesus tells us

About the story of one lost sheep

And how the Shepherd

Will leave the other 99

And come find him

Then he will

Tell his friends and neighbors

“Rejoice with me

I have found my lost sheep”

We may get lost

Along the way

On the road of life

But don’t worry

God will come find you

And Jesus

Tells us the story about a woman

With coins---who loses one

And when she finds it

She will say,

“Rejoice with me

I have found my lost coin”

Your value to God

Is infinite

Your value to God

Is forever

Or the story

Of the lost son

And his loving Father

Who says,

“For this son of mine

Was dead

And he is alive again;

He was lost

And is found”

So if

You are lost

On this road of life

Please patient

Please persevere

God will come find you

And if he can’t

Please come home again

On your own

God will be there

Your value to God

Is infinite

Your value to God

Is forever

He will come find you

And if he can’t

PEOPLE OF GOODWILL AND LOVE

PEOPLE OF GOODWILL AND LOVE=

(Are in DIRECT CONTRAST=To some others)!

There is a FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION=at large=In today’s world=and that is=

HOW are we LIVING OUR FAITH?=Are we Living lives=OF GOODWILL and LOVE?=

Towards all others?=Or are we LIVING lives=FULL OF HATRED and Exclusion?=”Herod

Feared John=KNOWING him to be a RIGHTEOUS and HOLY MAN……..” Mark 6:20

Is it any DIFFERENT TODAY=Than it was 2,000 years ago?

IF we are living lives=THE RIGHT WAY=Living Lives of=GOODWILL AND LOVE=Toward

ALL others=It should come across in GOODWILL=and it should SHOW=some

Fascination with Jesus=IF we are LOVING GOD=and Loving others=It should be=

READILY APPARENT to others=BEING ATTRACTIVE to others=Is matter of=LIVING

Out of love and GOODWILL=Like Jesus Christ=and it is=A MATTER OF DIRECT CONTRAST-

Toward some others=In today’s world

“You intended to harm me=But God INTENDED it FOR GOOD=To accomplish what=

Is now being done=THE SAVING OF MANY LIVES” Genesis 56:2

“Trust in the Lord=and DO GOOD=Dwell in the land=and enjoy safe pasture” Psalm 37:3

“He has shown you=O mortal=WHAT IS GOOD=And what does the Lord=Require of you?=

To act justly=and love mercy=and to walk humbly=With your God” Micah 6:8

Two thousand years ago=A little before Jesus=We had his cousin=John the Baptist=DOING GOOD=

And King Herod=Was fascinated with John=”He liked to LISTEN to him” (Mark 6:20)=And yet

He FEARED John too=”Knowing him to=Be a righteous and a HOLY MAN” (Mark 6:20)=John was

A man of GOODWILL AND LOVE=and Herod ENVIED John’s popularity=with the people=and

Herod himself was a tyrant=and ACHIEVED his power=Through intimidation=and BRUTE FORCE=

In DIRECT CONTRAST to John the Baptist!=and some others=NOTABLY Jesus=It was 2,000 years ago=And yet it is NO DIFFERENT TODAY=LIVE with Goodwill and LOVE=and people will=

TAKE NOTICE=Of the GOD OF LOVE=in you=It will make you=ATTRACTIVE TO OTHERS!

“WHAT GOOD=is it for=Someone to Gain the whole world=Yet forfeit their soul?=Or what CAN

Anyone give=In exchange for their soul?” Mark 8:36

“And we know=That in all things=God WORKS for the GOOD=of those who love him=Who have been

Called according to his purpose” Roman s 8:28

“……..Being confident of this=That He who began=A GOOD WORK=in you=Will carry it on

To completion=Until the day Of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6

Dear Lord=I thank you=WE THANK YOU=For the people of GOODWILL AND LOVE=In our

Lives=and we will TRY=to MAKE God and Jesus=Number one in our lives=and make an=

ATTEMPT at LOVING ALL OTHERS=In our lives of FAITH

We thank you=FOR these people=of GOODWILL=OF LOVE=and of INCLUSIVENESS=For

NOT all of us=are BUILT this way=Some others=Live in DIRECT CONTRAST=to the people=
