FINDING GOD IN SURRENDERING

( OUR SOULS THIS LABOR DAY WEEKEND 2026)

We are all BATTLING something

In this often

Difficult world

Depression-Addiction-PAIN-and just

STRIVING to FIND God

In this sometimes

God FORSAKEN world

We often FIND GOD

When we least expect him

When we give up on

Our efforts and just LET HIM

Come and find us

“Therefore=let us strive

To enter into that REST

So that no one may fall

After the same example

Of disobedience”                                                                                             Hebrews 4:11

We WANT to find God

We want to search and seek

But we don't always

Want to give up

OUR disobedience

OFTEN our God

Will find us

If we just stop

And REST

If we just

SURRENDER our own personal will

To GOD

SURRENDERING to find God

In rest

“Truly my soul

Finds REST in God

My salvation

COMES from him”                                                                                     Psalm 62:1

“The SPIRIT of the Lord

Will REST on him

The Spirit of wisdom

And understanding

The Spirit of counsel

And of might

The Spirit of the knowledge

And fear of the Lord--------------------”                                                                 Isaiah 11:2

“........for anyone

Who enters GOD'S REST

Also RESTS from their works

Just as God

Did from his”                                                                                                           Hebrews 4:10

Sometimes even SURRENDERING

To God can become

Hard work

Sometimes we have to WORK

To strive for a willingness

To SURRENDER 

And when we STOP working

Either from failure-exhaustion-

Or whatever

We will FIND that

God FINDS US=when

We are at rest

“YES my soul=

Finds REST in God

My hope 

Comes from him”                                                                                                          Psalm 62:5

“This is what the

Lord says=

'STAND at the crossroads

And look-

Ask for the ancient paths

Ask where

The GOOD WAY is

And walk in it

And you will FIND REST

For your souls........'”                                                                                             Jeremiah 6:16

PEACE comes from exhaustion

From SURRENDERING to God=

When he finds us

We can TRUST the Lord

Even when our own

Efforts FAIL 

Saint Paul tells

The HEBREW people

“Therefore a SABBATH REST

Still remains

For the PEOPLE OF GOD”                                                                                       Hebrews 4:9

SMALL THINGS WITH LOVE=MOTHER TERESA!

 

 

 

 

 

SMALL THINGS WE CAN DO=But We are NOT

MIRACLE WORKERS=Mother Teresa

 

ALL WE ARE=All we can Ever be=IS by the POWER OF GOD=God and Jesus are THE SOURCE=

We UNDERSTAND that= We cannot earn=GOD’S LOVE OR GRACE=or even good FORTUNE=

By our own merits=Everything is a GIFT=From our LOVING Holy Father=and His SON!=”What do=

You POSSESS=That you have not received?”                                                                     1 Corinthians 4:7

 

NOTHING!=We have to REALIZE=Our abilities=Our merits and our CONFIDENCE=Come from

God and Jesus=We have to LIVE in humility and with GRATITUDE=To our God and LIVE=Lives of

SERVICE=For others!=and Leave the MIRACLES=To our Holy Father God and Jesus=They are

THE SOURCE=of all things=and of ALL LOVE!

“And now Israel=What does the Lord your God=ask of you=But to fear the LORD=Your God=and

Walk in obedience to him=To love him=TO SERVE the Lord your God=with ALL your heart=and

With all your soul……..”                                                                                                                   Deuteronomy 10:12

“But if=SERVING THE LORD=Seems undesirable to you=Then Choose for yourselves this day=

Whom YOU WILL SERVE……..”                                                                                                         Joshua 24:15

“Jesus said to him’=’AWAY FROM ME SATAN’!=For it is written=’Worship the LORD=Your God=

And SERVE him only’”                                                                                                                   Matthew 24:10

DO SMALL THINGS=With GREAT LOVE=For others=and Leave the MIRACLES=to the LORD=and

HIS FATHER!

 

ONE PERSON=who always did SMALL THINGS=with GREAT LOVE=Is the SAINT we Honor today=

And it is MOTHER TERESA=Saint Teresa of Calcutta!=Her life is LEGENDARY!=and she is=THE Realization=of doing SMALL THINGS=WITH GREAT LOVE=She was a CONDUIT for the Father  and

Jesus=She KNEW=that everything comes=From the Father and the SON=and was/is INTENDED

For their PURPOSES=We cannot Take CREDIT for ourselves=DO SMALL THINGS=with GREAT LOVE=

And leave THE MIRACLES=To Jesus and the FATHER=SERVE the Lord and the Father=By loving

Others=MOTHER TERESA=did exactly that!

“No one=Can SERVE two masters=Either you will hate the one=and LOVE the other=Or you will

Be devoted to the one=and despise the other=YOU CANNOT SERVE=

Both God and money”                                                                                                                             Mathew 6:24

“SERVE WHOLEHEARTEDLY=as if you were=SERVING the Lord=not people=Because you know

That the LORD=Will reward each one=For whatever GOOD they do=Whether they are slave=

Or free”                                                                                                                                                             Ephesians 6:7-8

 

We may NOT DO=great miracles=For they are the FATHER’S and Jesus’s job=But we STILL have a

Part to do=IN THE HEALING=of this world=With our EVER so small acts of LOVE=For others=For

Mother Teresa herself said=”In this LIFE=We CANNOT do great things=We can ONLY DO=

SMALL THINGS=with great LOVE”

 

Dear LORD=we PRAY to you today=Your Brothers and  SISTERS=In this modern day world=

Your 21^st century apostles=That we can do some SMALL THING WITH GREAT LOVE=for

Someone today=Like MOTHER TERESA herself did!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=OF OUR EVER LOVING=Forever living=Forever MIRACLE

WORKING Holy Father God!

ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS

(DIANE-sharing the LOVE of God)

 

 

My mom had a friend named Diane

She was 24 or 25 years her senior

Diane also worked for my mom

 

But most importantly

They were best friends

Diane became my very GOOD FRIEND too

She became like family to us

She IS family to us

 

Diane is one of the MOST SPIRITUALLY SOUND people

That I have ever known

She has worked with a spiritual advisor for years

 

She is actually the equivalent of a lay nun

And took the name of Theresa

After Saint Theresa of Liseux

 

Thank you for your friendship Diane

Thank you for your love

 

And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Do something

Make a difference

In someone’s life

Don’t expect anything in return

What’s it matter anyway

Because when you’re helping others

You’re helping yourself

Make a difference

 

Get your mind

Off of yourself

Get your mind

On someone else

 

Get your mind

Off of your problems

And on theirs

Make a difference

 

Do something kind

Do something out of love

A NEW CREATION=IN GOD

 

A NEW CREATION IN GOD

Sometimes life is DIFFICULT

Our plans are thrown

A CURVEBALL 

And we tend to FORGET

That these bad experiences

Will NOT last forever

I know sometimes-I

Wake up-and I do not feel well

And I EXPERIENCE 

A bad day

Then I REMIND MYSELF=tomorrow

Will NOT necessarily

BE the same as today=I may

Feel BETTER=and probably will

“Who led his people

THROUGH the wilderness

For his mercy

ENDURES FOREVER”                                                                                         Psalm 136:16

Illnesses do pass

Things are changed

Losses are TRANSFORMED

Into opportunity

RELATIONSHIPS BECOME RESTORED

We COME to see

Grief can give birth

To COMPASSION

We become a NEW CREATION

IN GOD=we BEGIN AGAIN

“Let all CREATION

REJOICE before the Lord

For he comes

To judge the earth

He will JUDGE the world

In RIGHTEOUSNESS

And the peoples

In his FAITHFULNESS”                                                                                       Psalm 96:13

“Therefore-if anyone-

Is in Christ

The NEW CREATION has come

The old has gone

The NEW is HERE”                                                                                          2 Corinthians 5:17

We are NEW CREATIONS

In-GOD-new CREATIONS

In Christ

There is HOPE

For new beginnings

TOMORROW is another day

OUR GOD

Is NOT a security blanket

But a LOVING PRESENCE

Along the way

Along the PATH

Of life

“SHOW me your ways

O Lord

TEACH me your paths”                                                                                 Psalm 25:4

“In ALL your ways

Submit to him

And he will

ALL things old

DO become NEW AGAIN

WHAT DOES JESUS SEE IN PETER?=WHAT DOES HE SEE IN US?

 

 

 

 

 

 

WHAT DID JESUS SEE IN PETER?=What does Jesus and THE FATHER=

SEE IN US?

 

Do you EVER WONDER=What Jesus saw in Peter?=Do you ever wonder=WHAT QUALITIES=

Peter had=That endeared HIM=to Jesus?=And while we are at it=THINK about what

QUALITIES=you have=That ENDEARS You to Jesus=WHY does Jesus choose you?=to BE

ONE of his 21^st century apostles!=”He saw=at the water’s edge=There alongside the lake=

The FISHERMEN=Had disembarked and were=Washing their nets”                                            Luke 5:2

 

What did PETER HAVE=What do we have=That Jesus and the HOLY  FATHER GOD CHOOSE US?=

Did Jesus see the POTENTIAL=For leadership in Peter?=Did he see HUMILITY?=Does/did he

See the PERSISTENCE of Peter?=Or maybe that NEVER GIVE UP ATTITUDE?=That says=

“We will NEVER=Give up=or give in”=Maybe some innate GOODNESS in the original apostles?=

IN US?=Why?=Why?= WHY?=ONLY Jesus and THE FATHER=Know for SURE!

 

“You may say to yourselves’=’How can WE KNOW=When a message has not=Been spoken=By

The Lord?’”                                                                                                                                               Deuteronomy 18:21

“You asked’=’Who is this=That obscures my plans=Without knowledge?=Surely I spoke of things=

I did not understand=Things too wonderful=FOR ME TO KNOW’”                                  Job 42:3

“Search me God=and KNOW MY HEART=Test me and=KNOW my anxious thoughts”     Psalm 139:23

We may NEVER KNOW=Why God and Jesus Chose Peter=and the OTHER APOSTLES=and we may

NEVER KNOW=Why he chooses us=But we know=OUR HOLY FATHER GOD=and Jesus choose us=

WITH AN EVERLASTING LOVE=a never ending KIND OF LOVE=and we know=That When he does CHOOSE US=He will never abandon us!

 

SOME THINGS that we need=To Consider are=HOW MUCH POTENTIAL=do we have=The LORD

KNOWS and sees=What we are CAPABLE OF==He sees things in us=That we DON’T EVEN know=

That we have=The LORD God of Heaven and his Son=SEE OUR HEARTS=See our Goodness=and

IN THE END=Peter and the other apostles=CAME THROUGH for the Lord=They got the job done=

Jesus KNEW they would=WILL WE? Get it done=IN the world today?=Jesus and The HOLY FATHER GOD!=Believe in us=Have confidence in us

 

“I am the Good Shepherd=I KNOW my sheep=and my sheep KNOW ME=--------Just as the Father KNOWS me=and I KNOW the Father=-------and I lay down my life=for my sheep”             John 10:14-15

“AND WE KNOW=That in all things=God works for the good=of those who LOVE HIM=Who have

Been called=According to his purpose”                                                                                                  Romans 8:28

“This is=HOW WE KNOW=What love is=Jesus Christ laid down his life=for us=and we ought to

Lay=Down our lives=For our brothers and sisters”                                                                           1 John 3:16

WHY did Jesus CHOOSE Peter?=Why did Jesus call us?=WE DON’T KNOW=Only Jesus and=

THE FATHER know=But Jesus said=”FOLLOW ME”=Peter and the other apostles  did=WILL WE?

 

“When he has brought out=all his own=He goes out ahead of them=and his sheep FOLLOW HIM=

Because they know his voice”                                                                                                                           John 10:4

My FRIENDS=That is WHY Jesus picked Peter=WHY he picks us today=To be HIS APOSTLES

Because HE KNOWS=We would FOLLOW HIM=ALL the days of our life=and WE DO!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER LOVING=ever LIVING=ever leading and Guiding
