Everything that we know

About Philip

Comes from the New Testament

 

He was

Probably a disciple of John

Then began to follow Jesus

 

He also persuaded Nathaniel

To follow Jesus

 

At the feeding of the 5,000

He was concerned

That there was not enough bread and fish

To feed the 5,000

 

After finding Andrew and Peter

Jesus-leaving for Galilee-finds Philip

And says-“Follow me”

 

Philip-in turn-finds Nathaniel ( also called Bartholomew )

And tells him,

“We have found the one

Moses wrote about in the law

And about whom the prophets also wrote

Jesus of Nazareth-the son of Joseph”

 

Nathaniel says,

“Nazareth-can anything good come from there?”

 

Philip responds, “come and see”

 

Philip is believed

To have preached the Gospel in Phyrgia

After Christ’s Resurrection

And usually

Is represented by a cross

Or with loaves of bread

To recall his part

In the feeding of the 5000

 

JAMES THE LESS

 

Another apostle of Jesus

He was the son of Alphaeus

And it is believed

His mother stood at the foot of the cross

As Jesus was crucified

 

He also

May have written

The letter of James

 

It is believed

He was beat to death

With a club

After being sentenced to be stoned

By the Sanhedrin in 62 AD

 

His feast day

Along with the apostle Philip

Is May the 3^rd

HEALING AND FAITH!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WITH so many of us=HAVING HEALTH=and FAMILY ISSUES=and

WITH  THE issues=WITH OUR COUNTRY and our WORLD=it is TIME

To PRAY FOR HEALING=for us ALL=I LOVE YOU and=OUR HOLY FATHER

God and His SON JESUS=LOVE US SO MUCH MORE!=PRAYERS are being SENT!

 

 

 

 

WITNESS

HEALING AND FAITH

 

 

 

 

There are millions in this world

Who can heal a broken body

But only one---who can heal

A broken spirit---a broken soul

 

GOD

 

How would you describe healing

I would describe it

As a betterment

Of making one whole again

 

The one element

In ALL the miracles that Jesus did

Was that the person

Had great faith

 

In the 8^th and 9^th chapters

Of Saint Matthew’s Gospel

Matthew tells us about

Some of Jesus’ miracles

 

A centurion comes to Jesus and says,

“My servant lies at home paralyzed

And in terrible suffering”

Jesus says,

“I will go and heal him”

 

And the centurion responds,

“Lord I do not deserve

To have you come under my roof

But just say the word

And my servant will be healed”

 

Jesus becomes astonished and says,

“I tell you the truth

I have not found anyone in Israel

With such great faith…….”

 

Jesus continues,

“Go! It will be done

As you believed it would”

 

And the servant was healed

 

FAITH

 

A ruler came before Jesus, and said,

“My daughter has died

But come and put your hand on her

And she will live”

 

Jesus went to the ruler’s daughter, and said,

“Take her daughter

Your faith has healed you”

 

Many laughed at Jesus

Scoffed at him---mocked

Saying the girl was dead

 

Jesus said,

“Go away---The girl is not dead”                                      Matthew chapter 9

 

FAITH

 

That is

Not so say

That if you are not healed

That you do not have enough faith

 

It just means

That God---Jesus

Might be using you/us in other ways

Maybe using our suffering

As intercessory prayer

Or accepting our  suffering for others

 

THIS IS CALLED REDEMPTIVE SUFFERING

 

The diseases of the body

Are one thing

But the diseases of the soul---the spirit

Are quite another

 

For every million out there

Who can heal a broken body

There is only one

Who can heal a broken soul

 

GOD

 

Dear Lord---we pray

Please heal our broken bodies

If it be your will

 

But more importantly

Heal our broken spirits

Heal our broken souls

 

Of each of us individually

Of each of us collectively

Of our broken society

And our broken world

 

And if we are to carry our suffering

Both physically and spiritually

Please help us to pray like Saint Paul:

 

“Three times

I pleaded with the Lord

To take it from me

But he said to me

 

My grace is sufficient for you

For my power is made perfect

In your weakness”

MY PRAYER FOR SICKNESS  ( pt II  )

 

 

 

 

God, won’t you carry me

Please carry me the seed

I am a friend of yours and I am in need

It’s so awful to be sick

But I shan’t plead

Because even when I am feeling lousy

I have so much to be thankful for

 

Lord you give me brains

When there are many so many who are so mentally challenged

Lord you give me a beautiful family

When there are so many orphans

You give me food three times a day

When there are so many without any

You give me common sense

When so many have so little

 

Lord, what more can I ask for

You give me two arms, two legs, looks, athletic ability, mental stability

So what more can I say

 

I’m a little bit sick and I immediately ask for help

But help all those people with lesser talents than I

And if you have anything left

Then please think of me

IF you are like me=Sometime I/WE Put God and Jesus=In the CORNER of=

OUR HEARTS=Of our minds=and EVEN our souls=UNTIL we need him=For our=

HEALTH ISSUES=Our financial struggles=and our RELATIONSHIP PROBLEMS=

“ASK and=It will be given to you=SEEK and you will find=Knock and the door=Will be

OPENED TO YOU=For everyone who Asks-RECEIVES=The one who SEEKS FINDS=and

The one who KNOCKS=The door will be OPENED”                                                     Mathew 7:7-8

 

THAT IS GREAT!=But what HAPPENS=If the ANSWERS to our prayers=are NO=or not

JUST RIGHT NOW=I have had many PRAYERS=Go UNANSWERED=Health issues REMAIN=

Financial issues continue=and SOME people I wanted in my life=NEVER CAME

 

But what we have=TO REMEMBER=Is that OUR LIFE=Is NOT ONLY ABOUT ME=IT IS ABOUT

HIM!=and it is about GIVING PRAISE=HONOR=and GLORY to Our Father and HIS SON=In

Every CIRCUMSTANCE of our life=NO MATTER what stage of our life=we are IN=GIVE PRAISE=

To our God always=HONOR and GLORY too=IT IS ABOUT HIM!

“I will proclaim=The name of the Lord=OH PRAISE THE GREATNESS=

Of our God!”                                                                                                                                            Deuteronomy 32:3

“The Lord lives=PRAISE BE to my Rock!=Exalted be my God=The Rock=

MY SAVIOR!”                                                                                                                                      2 Samuel 22:47

“I will extol the Lord=at all times=HIS PRAISE will be=ALWAYS on my lips”                Psalm 34:1

 

If you are like me=You don’t want to=WAIT PARTICULARLY LONG=for the answer=to your

PRAYERS=You WANT what you want!=and you want it now==But sometimes we have to=WAIT

PATIENTLY=For the Lord to ANSWER our prayers=But he KNOWS what you need=and WHEN you

NEED IT=What we want=May NOT BE=a part of GOD’S PLAN for you=But his plan is PERFECT=and

He may have=SOMETHING BETTER in store for you=HE LOVES YOU!=Follow him=and ALWAYS

Remember=IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU!=It is about HIM!

“BUT now the Lord declares’=’FAR be it from me!=Those  who HONOR ME=I will HONOR=

But those who despise me=Will be disdained’”                                                                      1 Samuel 2:30

“You have made them=A little lower than the angels=And crowned them with GLORY and

HONOR”                                                                                                                                                            Psalm 8:5

“Whenever the living creatures=Give GLORY-HONOR and Thanks to him=Who sits on

The throne=and who lives for EVER AND EVER……..”                                                            Revelation 4:9

 

And so my DEAR SISTERS AND BROTHERS=While you are waiting=For the Holy Father God=and

Jesus=To ANSWER your prayers=Please be PATIENT=It is about THE FATHER=The SON=and the

HOLY SPIRIT of God=and their PLAN=for your life=IT IS NOT ABOUT YOU!=IT IS ABOUT HIM!=It is

About=THE GLORY=Of God the Father and THE SON!

 

“The heavens declare=THE GLORY OF GOD=The skies proclaim the=WORK of

His hands”                                                                                                                                                              Psalm 19:1

“And they were calling to one another’=’HOLY-Holy-Holy is the Lord Almighty=The whole earth

Is FULL of his GLORY’”                                                                                                                                   Isaiah 6:3

“……..And I saw=THE GLORY OF GOD=Of Israel=coming from the EAST”                             Ezekiel 43:2

Dear BROTHERS AND SISTERS=When you KNOCK on God’s door=For an ANSWER to

YOUR prayers=Remember this=IT IS ABOUT HIM!=Not about you!

 

In Jesus’ name=and IN the name=Of our EVER LOVING=ever living=Ever answering

I believe that God speaks through each and every one of us

Each time we:

And whole strength

 

Love our neighbor as our self-each time

We treat another

As we ourselves-would like to be treated

 

Every time that we forgive someone something

 

Every time that we try to live the Beatitudes

And use our money, time, and kindness

To try and help someone less fortunate than ourselves

 

God is STILL SPEAKING through each and EVERY ONE of us
