THE JOURNEY

 

 

The journey

Is long

The journey

Is never-ending

The journey

To find God

Is mind altering

Is mind bending

 

The journey

Takes you to places

That

You don’t really want to go

The journey

Reveals to you

Parts of your self

That

You don’t really

Want to know

 

But through it all

God continues to care

Through it all

God continues

To be fair

 

 

Because

God loves you

At all times

And if you keep searching

He’ll work with you

Until at times

You feel sublime

 

For me

The search

Has carried with it

Much pain

Both physical and emotional

But for every loss

God has given me

A little gain

 

The journey

Is long

The journey

Is never-ending

The journey

To find God

Is mind altering

It is

Mind bending

 

But please

Do not give up

On your journey

Or on yourself

Your journey

 It is well worth it

In the end

I am=INSPIRED BY WINNERS!=But by losers too=as long as they GIVE their

MAXIMUM EFFORT=We live in a COUNTRY=a CULTURE=and a WORLD=Where

Everyone wants to finish first=But I am HERE=to tell you=Like Jesus Christ-

JUST FINISH!=and you are a WINNER in my book=”When he had=Received the drink=

Jesus said’=’IT IS FINISHED’=With that he bowed his head=and gave up=

His spirit”                                                                                                                                                    John 19:30

“At that time=Jesus said’=’I praise you Father=Lord of heaven and earth=Because you

Have hidden these things=From the wise and the learned=and REVEALED them to=

Little children’”                                                                                                                                    Matthew 11:25

 

IS the person=Who FINISHED 100^th place=In the marathon=But does a PERSONAL BEST

A loser?=I don’t think so!=Life is about=BEING the BEST  you can be=It is NOT about=

COMPARING yourself=to any other human being!=FINISH first!=Finish last=JUST FINISH!!=BY

Being the best=THAT YOU CAN BE!=and along the way=LOVING GOD FIRST!=and loving others

Second=”I have testimony=Weightier than that=Of John=For the work=the FATHER=has given

Me to FINISH=-------the very works =that I am doing=--------Testify that the Father has sent

Me”                                                                                                                                                              John 5:36

“However I consider my life=Worth nothing to me=My only aim is to=FINISH THE RACE=and

Complete the task=The Lord has given me=--------The task of testifying=To the GOOD NEWS=

Of God’s grace”                                                                                                                                          Acts 20:24

 

My sisters and brothers=DON’T COMPARE yourself=To the PERSON=standing or sitting by you=

JUST BE=The BEST that you Can be=DO the best=That you can do=FOR YOU!=Within your talents and limitations=and FIND

The Lord=and the Father=along the way=Paul KNEW what was important=JUST FINISH  THE

RACE!=and LOVE your God=Love your Neighbor=as you JOURNEY=Through this life!

“By the seventh day=God had FINISHED the work=He had been doing=So on the seventh day=

He rested=From all his work”                                                                                                             Genesis 2:2   

“I have FOUGHT the good fight=I have FINISHED THE RACE=I have KEPT the

FAITH”                                                                                                                                                     2 Timothy 2:4

 

My dear friends=By human standards=I am a LOSER in this life==NO fame or fortune in

This world=No family of my own=Not much health=But I have TRIED to keep  MY death bed

PROMISE=to the Holy Father God=and I have LIVED with FAITH=HOPE AND LOVE!=In this life=

You will NOT always finish FIRST=But it is NOT about that=It is about=FINISHING THE RACE!

“I press on=TOWARD THE GOAL=To WIN the prize=For which God has called me=Heavenward=

In Christ Jesus”                                                                                                                                             Philippians 3:14

 

Dear Lord=we pray=we KNOW =we are not all winners=In this life=We know =WE won’t all

FINISH FIRST =But we Ask you=To LEARN from you=That it is NOT always about being First=as

You taught us=WHEN you turned out to be=THE SON OF GOD=Help us=BE STRONG=In our

Weaknesses and FINISH THE RACE!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=Of our FOREVER LOVING=Forever  living=and forever

To the sisters I have had

Io the extended family I have had

I have been blessed

 

To the friends I have had

I have been blessed

 

For the churches

Who have supported me

I have been blessed

In my walk though this life

I have been blessed

Down every avenue

I have been blessed

HAPPY 250^th AMERICA=FROM SEA TO SHING SEA!

 

AMERICA’S 250^th birthday=Was just a couple of days ago=and ONE thing

I know=For sure is that=EVERY single one of us=IS Made in the “DIVINE IMAGE”=

Of God=and HOW do I know that?=For one=Chapter one of Genesis=tells

Us so=”God CREATED man=IN HIS IMAGE=In the DIVINE IMAGE=He created him=

Male and female=He Created them”                                                                                                 Genesis 1:27

And secondly God tells us=Jesus tells us In the second commandment=of his

FATHER=“TO LOVE OUR NEIGHBOR as ourself”=and who EXACTLY is our neighbor?=

Luke in chapter 10=TELLS US about the GOOD SAMARITAN=Your neighbor is=

Each and every other person in this world=Jesus says=”Which one of these three=

Do you think was a NEIGHBOR=to the man=Who fell into=The hands of robbers?”

“The expert in the LAW replied’=’The ONE who had MERCY on him’”

“Jesus told him’=’GO and do likewise’”                                                                                         Luke 10:36-37

 

THE HOLY FATHER GOD=gives us the=FREEDOM TO CHOOSE=how we want to LIVE=

After he tells us=HOW WE=OUGHT TO LIVE=But as we celebrate=Our 250^th birthday=as

GOD-LIVING=GOD-LOVING people=We should Know=That OUR ULTIMATE HAPPINESS=is in

A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with the Father=and his Son Jesus Christ

“But  may the righteous be glad=and rejoice before God=MAY they be HAPPY

And joyful”                                                                                                                                                     Psalm 68:3

“Is anyone among you in trouble?=Let them pray=IS ANYONE HAPPY?=Let them sing songs

Of praise”                                                                                                                                                       James 5:13

 

The MEN who wrote the=DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE=had something to say=

ABOUT HAPPINESS=The creator too=On July 4^th, 1776=They wrote about=THE PRECIOUSNESS OF

EACH LIFE=”We HOLD these truths=to be self-evident=That ALL men are CREATED EQUAL=That

They are=Endowed by their CREATOR=With certain unalienable RIGHTS=that among these are=

LIFE-LIBERTY-and PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS”

HUMAN DIGNITY is a right=STEEPED in God’s words=In Jesus’ words=I PRAY that each individual

LIFE=In this world=and in OUR COUNTRY=May feel the=DIGNITY of our God=HAPPY

250^th AMERICA=FROM SEA TO SHINING SEA!=We are ALL made=IN GOD’S IMAGE=Every

Single one of us=and we should be LOVING ONE ANOTHER=Like the GOOD SAMARITAN did

 

And so today=On our 250^th BIRTHDAY=I pray=That the people of our NATION=that the

PEOPLE=of our world=LOVE and give THANKS for our country=and FELLOW man=There is

FREEDOM IN God=I pray that we=ULTIMATELY make the right choice=I give thanks too=

For the FREEDOM=to live my religion=and my SPITITUALITY

“He is the MAKER=of heaven and earth=THE SEA=and everything in them=--------He remains

Faithful forever=He upholds the CAUSE of the oppressed=and gives food to the hungry=

The Lord=SETS PRISONERS FREE”                                                                                                   Psalm 148:6-7

“To the Jews=who had believed in him=Jesus said’=’Then you will know the truth=and the

TRUTH=will set you FREE’”                                                                                                                John 8:32

 

Dear LORD=we pray=for this GREAT country of ours=and all of its FREEDOMS=and we pray=

FOR YOUR GRACE=Your love=and your HELP=as well as GUIDANCE=In getting back to

LIVING by the WORDS OF our Founding Fathers=and the LORD OUR HOLY FATHER GOD!

HAPPY 250^th AMERICA=from sea to SHINING SEA!

A TRUE CHILD OF GOD

The story of Maria Goretti

 

 

Maria Goretti

Was the eldest daughter

Of a poor Italian farmer

 

Because of this

She never went to school

Or learned to read

Or to write

 

She was a devout

And cheerful girl

 

Her father had died

And then a young man

Of the neighborhood

Began first to make advances to her

Then pester her

And finally attempted to rape her

Threatening to kill her

If she resisted him

 

She fought him

With all of her strength

As he repeatedly stabbed her

Saying,

“No God does not wish it”

 

A TRUE child of God

A TRUE child of faith

 

Her last hours

Were marked with concern

About where her mother would sleep

And forgiveness for her attacker

 

Her killer

Was sentenced to life imprisonment

 

After eight years

He repented

And after 27 years

He was released a new man

 

He attended her canonization

In 1950

 

She was a martyr

For chastity

And for

The Christian life

 

She had a SIMPLE faith

She knew

God loved her

And she knew

She loved God

 

She was

A TRUE CHILD OF GOD

Even at the cost

Of her very own life

 

On July 6^th-her feast day

We honor her

As well as ALL martyrs

Who prefer death to dishonor

What is happening

Preying on the littlest

Ps        Today is the feast day of Saint Maria Goretti

            A 12-year old girl

            Who preferred death to dishonor

            

            She is a model for chastity

            And the Christian life

            She died in 1902

            And was canonized in 1950

 

            May she be with all children in spirit

            If something bad is happening to them

            In today’s world

 

“Yet to ALL who received him

To those who believed in his name

He gave the right to become CHILDREN OF GOD

 

Children born NOT of natural descent

NOR of human decision or a husband’s will

BUT BORN OF GOD”                                                           John 112-13

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!

The TEACHINGS of Jesus?

ON GOD’S LOVE?

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!

“I am already-

Being poured out-

Like a libation

 

And the time=of my departure

IS AT HAND

 

I have competed well=

I have=finished the race

I have

KEPT THE FAITH!”                                                                                                             2 Timothy 4:6-7

 

How about you=

Are you=

FINISHING STRONG=In the Lord?

Do you have

ENOUGH FAITH=to see you

Through to the end?

BUILT TO LAST!

 

Pauls’ second letter

To Timothy=reads like

Saint Paul’s LAT WILL and testament=

The DEATH of Paul

Is imminent

 

Pauls’ time is SHORT=

And he knows it=

But it is not death=

It is a DEPARTURE

 

His WORDS about Christ

Will last AN ETERNITY

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!

 

“My food’=said Jesus

‘Is to do the WILL=of him

Who sent me

And to FINISH=HIS WORK’”                                                                                                      John 4:34

 

“However I consider

My life worth nothing

To me

 

My only aim

Is to FINISH THE RACE=

And complete  the task

The Lord has given me--------

 

The task of

Testifying to the good news

Of God’s grace”                                                                                                                         Acts 20:24

 

I love sports=DON’T YOU?

And Paul uses eloquent words

To COMPARE=THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

To an athletic event

 

He=Paul

Is FILLED with perseverance

To finish the race

THE MARATHON=of his Christian TESTIMONY

 

NOTHING is wasted by Paul=

All is on the line

For him=to FINISH THE RACE

 

“LET PERSEVERANCE=FINISH its work

So that you may be

Mature and complete=NOT lacking anything”                                                                              James 1:4

 

Dear Lord=we PRAY

That we all know

We will FACE DEATH=one day

 

Please help us

TO FINISH STRONG=IN THE LORD!

Like the great Saint Paul=and Jesus himself

 

And die in faith=let our faith

Pull us=THROUGH THE FINISH LINE

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!
