FROM THE INSIDE OUT=
(Not from the Outside
in)
You and I=We FOCUS=On our bodies=We focus ON=What we put
INSIDE of them=
We want to eat right=To lose weight=To IMPROVE our medical
conditions=To plain
JUST LOOK GOOD=But God=Our LORD=tells us what is MORE
IMPORTANT=and it is=
WHAT comes out of us=”But what COMES OUT of the man-That is
what DEFILES THEM=
Jesus went on=’What COMES OUT of a person=is what DEFILES THEM=For it is
from
WITHIN=Out of a person’s heart=That evil thoughts
come=--------Sexual immorality=
Theft=murder=adultery=greed=malice=deceit=Lewdness=envy=slander=Arrogance=
And folly=ALL these evils=COME FROM INSIDE=and defile a
person’” Mark

NOT from the outside=in=But it is=FROM THE INSIDE OUT=that
we should focus!
But we FOCUS=On other things=Maybe abstaining from
alcohol=Or a limited amount
Of calories=Fats=Carbohydrates=etc…=But what about this=What about our THOUGHTS=
What about God=What about love=and KINDNESS=and forgiveness=ALL
the things we=REALLY
Need=Come from the INSIDE=Out=These things make the world=A
BETTER PLACE=DON’T get me
Wrong=To be physically HEALTHY=is really important=It is a
GREAT BLESSING=But to be
Spiritually healthy=FROM THE INSIDE OUT=Is really what
counts
“Who may ascend=The mountain of the LORD?=Who may stand in
his holy place?=The one
Who has CLEAN HANDS=and a PURE HEART=Who does not trust=In
an idol=Or swear by a
False god” Psalm

“Who can say=”I have kept MY HEART PURE=I am CLEAN and

out from it and BE PURE=

Let us face it=It takes a LOT=of self-control=a lot of
self-monitoring=and much much
SELF RESTRAINT=To stay away from=ALL of the evils=Jesus
speaks about=In today’s gospel=
EVERYONE has had some evil thoughts=From time to time=THOUGHTS
of greed=malice=
Deceit=arrogance=or laziness=But we MUST SUBVERT these
thoughts=We must=CONCENTRATE
On=the GOOD THOUGHTS OF GOD=Thoughts of Love=Thoughts of forgiveness=and
thoughts
OF KINDNESS=Focus on THOUGHTS OF LOVE and the Holy Father
God and JESUS=LIVE FROM
THE INSIDE OUT!=Be pure=Be CLEAN OF HEART!

Dear Lord this LENT=we ask for you to HELP US=LIVE from the
INSIDE OUT=and SUBVERT
Our evil thoughts and tendencies=and FOCUS only on things
LIKE LOVE=Like kindness=and
Like forgiveness=IF we do this LORD=We will have a GREAT
LENT=and be MOVING EVER CLOSER

THEY HAD=AND=
WE HAVE EACH OTHER
The sequence of the events=
For the apostles=
MUST have been mind-boggling
The crucifixion=death and
RESURRECTION of Jesus=must have
Beyond imagination-
For Mary Magdalene-
And the other apostles
THEN he walked the mountains-
The terrain and the hills with them
For 40 days
What I FIND HEARTENING
Is that-
THEY HAD EACH OTHER
TOGETHER=in the upper room
-As we have each other=
OUR family and our friends
In the hallways and rooms
Of our lives
“Then they RETURNED
To Jerusalem
From the mount
Called Olivet.........
When they
Entered the city
THEY went to the UPPER ROOM
Where they were staying
…......
ALL these devoted themselves
With one accord
To PRAYER.........” Acts 12:14
THEY HAD=and=
WE HAVE EACH OTHER
TOGETHER=unified and LOVING=
Having each other
IS what makes life work
In this world
“How GOOD and pleasant
It is
When God's people
LIVE TOGETHER in unity” Psalm 133:1

After Jesus died
WE have each other
As we MOVE FORWARD
With out lives
The vast UNKNOWN

The apostles were
SHOCKED some 2000 years ago
As they went through
The UNKNOWN
We-ALL-go through
Major transitions and reversals
In out lives
WHEN we go though transitions
LORD=Help us=to know=
You are always with us
In our INNER ROOM

A day of love
Between you
And your significant other
Or perhaps
Maybe the love
Of just a friend
For a friend
But what about
The love
God gave to you

The love God gives to you/us/me
Every day
He loves you very much
He went
To the cross for you

With an unconditional love
He loves you so much
That there is nothing

To separate
God’s love from you
