A WORLD=THAT NEEDS SO MUCH

 

 

 

 

 

A WORLD=THAT NEEDS SO MUCH

 

We live IN a =CAPITALISTIC SOCIETY=and we GET CHALLENGED FINANCIALLY=

And in So MANY other ways=IN OUR LIFE=and this makes it DIFFICULT=for us=

To ACCEPT=How to account for OUR RESOURCES=So many challenges=So many

Choices=”……..How MANY full baskets=Of fragments=did you pick up?”     Mark 8:19

 

I sometimes WONDER=How I have made it  THROUGH all of my problems=My health

Problems=Financially=and without A SIGNIFICANT OTHER=To share  my life with=I am a

PERSON=with issues=as we all are=But I have RECEIVED so much From the Holy Father

God=and his Son=and from family members=From friends=and a FEW RARE INSTANCES=

From strangers=I am getting by=I am MAKING IT=with the LORD’S HELP=and I HOPE

That you are too!=For we LIVE in a  world=That needs so very MUCH!

 

SOMETIMES=it is HARD to know=when we HAVE ENOUGH=But I do=I have everything that=

I NEED!=The world screams=”MORE-MORE-MORE”=but Jesus says to=For us=”TO EMPTY
OURSELVES”=Of everything that You have=and HIS FATHER GOD=Will give us=

MORE in abundance=Especially  love=THE ESSENCE of God’s love=and of Jesus’ LOVE!

 

SO GIVE=what you have=TO THE WORLD and remember=You reap what YOU SOW=We Live=

In a WORLD=THAT NEEDS SO MUCH!=But IF=we cooperate with God’s love=WE HAVE ENOUGH=

“As I have observed=Those who plow evil=and those who SOW TROUBLE=REAP IT”        Job 4:8

“Remember this=Whoever SOWS sparingly=Will also REAP sparingly=and whoever SOWS

GENEROUSLY=Will also REAP GENEROUSLY”                                                                            2 Corinthians 9:6

“Do not be deceived=God cannot be mocked=A man REAPS WHAT HE SOWS”     Galatians 6:7

 

God wants us to know=THIS WORLD=NEEDS SO MUCH!=It is in=DESPERATE NEED  of love=

Of forgiveness=of material BLESINGS=and of course KINDNESS=SO GIVE=what you CAN!=Even

IF it is=ONLY LOVE AND KINDNESS=God can MULTIPLY=With his LOVE=Just look at

THE MIRACLE of=THE  LOAVES and the fishes=In the gospel of Mark

 

The disciples  are COMPLAINING=Because they have no bread=But Jesus knew=GOD WOULD

PROVIDE!=”Jesus said’=’WHY are you talking=About having no bread?=Do you still not see=

Or understand?=Are your hearts hardened?=

 

‘Do you have eyes=But fail to see?=and ears but

Fail to hear?=And don’t you remember=When I broke FIVE LOAVES=for the five thousand=How

Many basketful of PIECES=did you pick up?’

‘Twelve’=They answered

‘And when I broke the seven loaves=for the four thousand=How many basketful of PIECES=

Did you pick up?’

“They answered’=’ Seven’

He said to them=’DO YOU still not understand?’”                                                                          Mark 8:17-21

 

My friends=We live IN a HURTING WORLD=That NEEDS SO MUCH!=But if we LOVE=If

We GIVE what we CAN=THE LOVE of=The Holy FATHER God and His SON=Jesus Christ=

WILL make the difference

MY LIFE=is a LIVING TESTIMONY TO THAT!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LIVING=FOREVER LOVING=Forever

MULTIPLYING Holy Father God!

WITNESS

WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO

 

 

 

 

I road

The public bus today

 

Saw all the blank stares

Saw the long and desolate faces

Saw the look of hopelessness

In so so many of us

 

I ask myself

I ask you

 

WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO

 

Perhaps you are

Putting your hope

In all the wrong things

 

Hope is NOT visible

It is the looking

As to what is to come

It is KNOWING that

There is something better

 

“For in this hope we were saved

But hope that is seen

Is no hope at all

Who hopes for

What he already has

But if we hope

For what we do not yet have

We WAIT for it patiently”                                                         Romans 8:24

 

Perhaps you have a chronic illness

No known cause---no known cure

God forbid

Maybe even a terminal illness

 

Perhaps you are looking

For a scientific miracle

I wish for one for you too

 

Just remember

All miracles begin and end with

THE POWER of God

 

WHERE DID OUR HOPE GO

 

“Put your hope in God

For I will yet praise him

My Savior and my God”                                                     Psalm 42:5

 

Perhaps you have

Serious financial difficulties

Can’t feed your family

Or even yourself

 

PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD

 

“Command those who are rich

In this present world

Not to be arrogant

Not to put their hope in wealth

Which is so uncertain

Bu to put their hope in God”                                                   1 Timothy 6:17

 

Where did our hope go

Perhaps we are putting it in

All the wrong places

 

PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD

 

People have failed you

Broken relationships abound

A broken family

An estranged parent or child

 

PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD

 

“Not only so

But we also rejoice in our sufferings

Because we know that suffering produces perseverance

Perseverance---character

And character---hope

 

And hope DOES NOT DISAPPOINT US

Because God has pored out his love

Into our hearts

By the Holy Spirit

Whom he has given us”                                                             Romans 5:3-5

 

WHERE DID OR HOPE GO

RIPPLE EFFECTS=FROM THE LORD

( BECAUSE our Lord WORKS=for us=WITH OUR FAITH)

 

ARE you a Woman or=Man of FAITH?=Do you try and SPREAD the WORD OF GOD?=

If you do=I have some GOOD NEWS for you=for you and YOUR GOOD WORDS=Your

Good works=They do NOT=stop with you!=There is a RIPPLE EFFECT=Because of

YOUR FAITH=That the Lord and THE FATHER GOD=Use to spread=HIS LOVE and=

WORDS AROUND=”……..What God has PREPARED=for those who LOVE HIM=This God=

Has REVEALED  to us=Through the SPIRIT”                                                                             1 Corinthians 2:9-10

 

Do you know=WHAT A RIPPLE EFFECT is?=It is=When you THROW A STONE=Into a lake=

Or a river=THE RIPPLE flows outward=FARTHER than we=COULD ever throw the

STONE itself=That is what HAPPENS=When you SPREAD GOD’S LOVE=God’s WORDS and

Works too=Ripple EFFECTS from the Lord=Because of YOUR FAITH=OUR FAITH!

“But the Word of God=Continued TO SPREAD and flourish”                                            Acts  12:24

“In this way=The WORD of the Lord=SPREAD WIDELY=and grew in power”                Acts 19:20

“We sent Timothy=Who is our BROTHER=and co-worker  in God’s service=IN SPREADING

The gospel of Christ=To strengthen and encourage You=In your faith=So that no one=would

Be unsettled=By these trials”                                                                                           1 Thessalonians 3:2-3

 

JUST IMAGINE=that the Word of God=You send out=and SPREAD about=from your

Lips=Works like that stone=and its RIPPLE EFFECT=Jesus=and HIS FATHER=can take their

WORDS =that you use IN FAITH=and spread it the SAME WAY=It can NOT ONLY touch

Your corner of the world=But it can EFFECT THE WHOLE WORLD=Because of

THE RIPPLE EFFECT of your FAITH in the LORD=For we are  21^st century Christian Apostles=

And Catholic apostles=of the LORD JESUS Christ=and His Father=It happens=Whether

You see it happening or not!=Because  of The Ripple Effect=Of the HOLY SPIRIT of

Our God

 

Dear Lord=WE PRAY=Get us out of the way=For the GOSPEL of our Lord SPREADS=The words

OF GOD=are WONDERS and  miracles!=”Listen to this Job=Stop and consider God’s

WONDERS”                                                                                                                                               Job 37:14

“Show me=THE WONDERS of your great love=You who save by your right hand=Those who

Take refuge in you=From their foes’                                                                                         Psalm 17:7

“I WILL SHOW WONDERS=In the heavens above=and signs on the earth below=Blood

And fire=and billows of smoke”                                                                                                       Acts 2:19

WHEN we Pray to the Lord=He INSTILLS the Spirit of God=IN US==and he GUIDES and

Directs us=In which way to go=He lays WISDOM and the Spirit of God on us=Through our

FAITH=and the LORD GOD OF LOVE and=HIS FATHER=Instill the RIPPLE EFFECT=In

Our words and actions

 

And so MY SISTERS AND BROTHERS=EVEN IF=You are NOT seeing any results=from

Your WORDS AND WORKS=The Word of God=is still PROGRESSING=We must have the

FAITH the Good Lord and his Father gave us=For he is PRODUCING A RIPPLE EFFECT=Not

Only in our corner of the globe=BUT IN THE WORLD

 

“Consequently=You are no longer=Foreigners and strangers=But FELLOW CITIZENS with=

God’s people=and also members of his household=Built on the foundation=Of the apostles=

And the prophets=With Christ Jesus himself=as the chief CORNERSTONE”            Ephesians  2:19-20

THE SPIRIT=of the Holy Father of God and Jesus the Lord   PRODUCES a RIPPLE EFFECT!=

Count on it!=IN JESUS’ NAME

FROM THE INSIDE OUT=

(Not from the  Outside in)

 

You and I=We FOCUS=On our bodies=We focus ON=What we put INSIDE of them=

We want to eat right=To lose weight=To IMPROVE our medical conditions=To plain

JUST LOOK GOOD=But God=Our LORD=tells us what is MORE IMPORTANT=and it is=

WHAT comes out of us=”But what COMES OUT of the man-That is what  DEFILES THEM=

Jesus went on=’What COMES OUT  of a person=is what DEFILES THEM=For it is from

WITHIN=Out of a person’s heart=That evil thoughts come=--------Sexual immorality=

Theft=murder=adultery=greed=malice=deceit=Lewdness=envy=slander=Arrogance=

And folly=ALL these evils=COME FROM INSIDE=and defile a person’”                              Mark 7:20-23

NOT from the outside=in=But it is=FROM THE INSIDE OUT=that we should focus!

 

But we FOCUS=On other things=Maybe abstaining from alcohol=Or a limited amount

Of calories=Fats=Carbohydrates=etc…=But what about  this=What about our THOUGHTS=

What about God=What about love=and KINDNESS=and forgiveness=ALL the things we=REALLY

Need=Come from the INSIDE=Out=These things make the world=A BETTER PLACE=DON’T get me

Wrong=To be physically HEALTHY=is really important=It is a GREAT BLESSING=But to be

Spiritually healthy=FROM THE INSIDE OUT=Is really what counts

 

“Who may ascend=The mountain of the LORD?=Who may stand in his holy place?=The one

Who has CLEAN HANDS=and a PURE HEART=Who does not trust=In an idol=Or swear by a

False god”                                                                                                                                                     Psalm 24:3-4

“Who can say=”I have kept MY HEART PURE=I am CLEAN and without sin?’”              Proverbs 20:9

“Depart-depart=Go out from there!=Touch no unclean thing!=Come out from it and BE PURE=

You who carry the articles=Of the Lord’s house”                                                                     Isiah 52:11

 

Let us face it=It takes a LOT=of self-control=a lot of self-monitoring=and much much

SELF RESTRAINT=To stay away from=ALL of the evils=Jesus speaks about=In today’s gospel=

EVERYONE has had some evil thoughts=From time to time=THOUGHTS of greed=malice=

Deceit=arrogance=or laziness=But we MUST SUBVERT these thoughts=We must=CONCENTRATE

On=the GOOD THOUGHTS OF GOD=Thoughts of Love=Thoughts of forgiveness=and thoughts

OF KINDNESS=Focus on THOUGHTS OF LOVE and the Holy Father God and JESUS=LIVE FROM

THE INSIDE OUT!=Be pure=Be CLEAN OF HEART!

 

“BLESSED are the PURE IN HEART=For they will see GOD”                                                 Matthew 5:8

“Do not be hasty=In the laying on of hands=and do not share=In the sins of others=

KEEP YOURSELF PURE!”                                                                                                                     1 Timothy 5:22

“All who have this HOPE in him=PURIFY THEMSELVES=Just as he IS PURE”             1 John 3:3

My DEAR SISTERS AND BROTHERS=Lent is LESS than=a week  away=KEEP the focus

ON your interior THOUGHTS=Let us FOCUS ON=Living from the INSIDE OUT=as Jesus

Himself did=NOT ON from the outside in=”CREATE in me=A PURE HEART=O God=and

Renew a steadfast spirit within me”                                                                                                      Psalm 51:10

 

Dear Lord this LENT=we ask for you to HELP US=LIVE from the INSIDE OUT=and SUBVERT

Our evil thoughts and tendencies=and FOCUS only on things LIKE LOVE=Like kindness=and

Like forgiveness=IF we do this LORD=We will have a GREAT LENT=and be MOVING EVER CLOSER

To you

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=Of our ever LIVING=Ever loving=EVER PURE=Holy Father God!
