GOD PUT YOU IN MY WAY

The other day

I heard a story

A Catholic priest

Was telling the story of two travelers

One an African-the other an Egyptian

They did not know each other

The Egyptian encountered some problems

While traveling

And the African

Went out of his way to help

The Egyptian asked: “Why id you help me? You don’t even know me.”

The African responded: “I had to help. God put you in my way.”

When the Egyptian returned home-he found out

His former fiance’ had encountered some problems

The Egyptian went out of his way

To try and help her

His ex-fiance asked: “Why did you help me? You don’t even like me.”

He responded: “I had to help. God put you in my way.”

It made me think

About who has helped me in my life

Without any thought of ever getting repaid

I wonder if they thought:

“I had to help

God put you in my way”

WHO HAS GOD PUT IN YOUR WAY

CARRYING OUR CROSSES

( FROM VACATION)

The crosses of

Our life=are

Sometimes=LIFE CHANGING

They include=

The DEATH of a loved one

A betrayal=by someone close

The Loss of a job

Or a DEBILITATING ILLNESS

I have dealt

With this CHRONIC ILLNESS=

All my life=and it is

Indeed A CROSS

But Jesus=taught us

Once and FOR ALL

How to CARRY OUR CROSSES

Do it with love!

CARRYING OUR CROSSES!

With love

“Whoever wishes=to come

After me=must deny himself

TAKE UP HIS CROSS=and follow me” Matthew 16:24

These PIVOTAL MOMENTS

In life=include

A COMPLETE SURRENDE to God=

And require a

Great deal of FAITH=

CARRYING OUR CROSSES

And doing it ALL

For love=Just like our Jesus

“For Christ

Did not send me=to baptize

But to preach=the gospel--------

Not with wisdom=and eloquence

LESS THE CROSS of Christ=

Be emptied of its power” 1 Corinthians 1:17

“And having disarmed

The power of authorities

He made a public spectacle

Of them=Triumphing

Over them=BY THE CROSS” Colossians 1:15

We all have SMALL CROSSES

In life too=but

What is most important

Is OUR RESPONSE to them

That we CARRY THEM

Just like Jesus

With patience and love

Some things in life

Are not “BAD”=

They are just challenging=

But we must respond

WITH LOVE

“……..fixing our eyes on Jesus

The pioneer=and perfecter

Of faith

For the joy=set before him

HE ENDURED THE CROSS

Scorning its shame

And sat down

At the right hand=of the throne

Of God” Hebrews 12:2

SO FOLLOW Jesus

Follow the patron Saint

Of ordinary life=Saint Therese Liseux

NEVER MISS a chance to smile=

To leave a KIND WORD

And do it all=with love

Like Jesus=and Saint Therese

We all know=that our HOLY FATHER GOD=and His Son Jesus=

Are with is=In our good moments=IN our moments of

LIGHT AND LOVE=but what about OUR DARK MOMENTS

Those moments=WHEN

EVERYTHING is going wrong=when we are EXPERIENCING=

What some SAINTS call=

“THE DARK NIGHT OF THE SOUL”

My friends=my DEAR BROTHERS and sisters=our God

Our Jesus=are with us=IN OUR DARK MOMENTS TOO=Carrying

Us=on their shoulders through those dark=DIFFICULT TIMES

“For to us=a child is born=to us=a son is given=and the

Government will be=ON HIS SHOULDERS” Isaiah 9:6

“And when=he finds it=He joyfully puts it=on

HIS SHOULDERS=and goes home=Then he calls his

His friends and neighbors together and says=’Rejoice

With me=I have found my lost sheep’” Luke 15:15

And in the same way=WHEN WE ARE LOST=in our

DARK MOMENTS of life=Jesus REJOICES when we make it=

THROUGH the darkness=of our life=Our Lord is with us=

IN THESE DARK MOMENTS TOO

“You Lord=are my lamp=the LORD=TURNS MY DARNESS

Into light” 2 Samuel 22:29

“This is the verdict=Light has come into the world=but people

LOVED DARKNESS=instead of light=because their deeds were evil” Isaiah 3:19

“Do not be yoked together=with unbelievers=For what do

Righteousness=and wickedness=have in common=Or what

Fellowship=can light HAVE WITH DARKNESS?” 2 Corinthians 6:14

SPEND some time=with the LORD JESUS=and the Holy Father God=

IN YOUR DARK MOMENTS=then let THE SOURCE of his grace=

Their LIGHT=pick you up=and put you=ON the right path with

God and Jesus=for they are with us=IN OUR DARK MOMENTS TOO=It

Is called FAITH

WHEN we spend our TIME=with God=in our DARK MOMENTS=

His love=FILLS US UP=with the GRACE=of his HOLY SPIRIT!=

IN OUR DARK MOMENTS TOO!

“You are=the most excellent of men=and your lips have

Anointed=WITH GRACE=since God has blessed you forever” Psalm 45:2

“For the law=was given through Moses=GRACE and truth came

Through Jesus Christ” John 1:17

“Now I commit you=to God=and to the word=OF HIS GRACE=which

Can build you up=and give you an inheritance=among all those who

Are sanctified” Acts 20:31

And so MY FRIENDS=when you are feeling down=AND HOPELESS

And experiencing the DARKNESS=the dark moments=OF YOUR SOUL

HOLD ON=to the Holy Father God=Hold on to HIS SON=Jesus Christ=

And they will pull you=THROUGH THE DARKNESS=and into their GRACE

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of OUR HOLY FATHER GOD=the

TRUE LIGHTS=OF THIS WORLD

THE SUNDAY MORNING SERENITY

Awakening in the morning and feeling so much at peace

I never felt so good

I never felt so complete

It’s the Sunday morning serenity that makes me feel this way

It’s the Sunday morning serenity that always makes my day

For on Sunday morning there’s no where to go

There’s no one to see

There’s nothing else that matters

But you and but me

It seems I’m looking for a reason to pull me through to the next day

I’ve searched all the seasons

And am looking in all that I do

But the world doesn’t often ring the bells of truth

And I just have to find it

And put it in my life to stay

Looking out my window and what do I see

People all dressed up and on their way to worship

But that’s not the way it is for you and for me

For it’s these Sunday mornings when we find ourselves alone

And much of our inner feelings are revealed

And we find the courage to let it show

These moments of idleness and peace

They surely do not come often

And we need them to soften

The blows we feel throughout the week

So it’s the Sunday morning serenity

I look to throughout the week

It’s the Sunday morning serenity that makes me feel so good

And makes me feel complete

It’s the Sunday morning serenity that leaves me in my peace

Thank God for the Sunday morning serenity

It’s everything I live for

It’s everything I need

I just don’t think that I could live without

Made more certain

Life is growing

Life isn’t always knowing

Life is learning

From your previous mistakes

Life is yearning

To be something better

Life is thriving

To reach that unreachable goal

Life is being a fool

And swallowing our pride

But most of all life is living

Each day as it comes

And making the decisions we see fit

Based on our collective experiences

Of our successes and failure

And applying our success to tomorrow

And screening our failures from yesterday

And saying here I am world

You can take me or leave me

I’m getting by the best that I can

IN TODAY’S MIRACLE=A CANAANITE woman=is Pleading with Jesus=to HEAL her daughter=

Who is tormented by a demon=But Jesus does NOT want=to do it=For she is NOT A JEW=

But the CANAANITE WOMAN=Keeps begging Jesus=To help her sick daughter=COMPARING

It to=the SCRAPS of food from a table=Finally JESES IS MOVED=as her GREAT FAITH=The

COMPASSION of Jesus=The GOODNESS and LOVE of Jesus=and the Holy Father God

“You intended=to harm me=But GOD=Intended it for GOOD” Genesis 50:20

“Job replies’=’You are talking=Like a foolish woman=Shall we accept=GOOD FROM GOD=

Sometimes EVENTS and people conspire against us=and those events and/or PEOPLE

Are trying to take us DOWN=DON’T get up on it=Because no bad thing=CAN BEFALL US=

Unless God DECREES it=The story of JOB=PROVES just that=TRUST IN=THE GOODNESS OF

OUR GOD!=Our Holy Father and HIS SON!

FAITH can be DEFINED as=”The gift to TRUST=in THE GOODNESS OF GOD”=and that is WHAT

The Canaanite woman has=IN TODAY’S MIRACULOUS STORY=and Jesus is SO AMAZED=by

Her TRUSTING OF GOD==and HIM=that two things do occur=Her daughter is HEALED IMMEDIATELY=and her FAITH PROVES=That Jesus did NOT ONLY come for People of Israel=

But also for the Gentiles!=THE GOODNESS OF GOD!=TRUST IN IT!

“This is what=The Lord says’=’Stand at the crossroads and look=ASK for the ancient paths=

Ask where=THE GOOD WAY IS= and walk in it=and you will find REST=

For your souls’” Jeremiah 6:16

“A GOOD MAN=brings GOOD things=Out of the GOOD=stored up in him=and an evil man brings

Evil things=Out of the evil=stored up in him” Mathew 12:35

“No one=should seek=THEIR OWN GOOD=But the GOOD OF OTHERS” 1 Corinthians 10:24

Dear LORD=and Holy Father God=We your brothers and sister=YOUR sons and daughters=PRAY

That you help us=DEEPEN our TRUST in you==Our dear GOD OF LOVE=For it is IN OUR FAITH=

In you=That we FIND OUR TRUST=Just like the Canaanite woman=and her daughter=So we can EXPERIENCE the MIRACLES of you=In today’s world

“TRUST in the Lord=With all your heart=and lean NOT=On your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5
