LONGING TO HEAR=THE LORD’S VOICE=and so are WE

(THE FEAST DAY=OF SAINT MARY MAGDALENE)

 

WHEN we LOSE someone=By death=Or even if=They are Just missing=There

IS a Shake up=in us=and If we LOVE that person=We LONG to hear their VOICE=

Once again=That was the Case=With Mary Magdalene and Jesus=When he Died=Or

So she THOUGHT

 

And then When she saw him ALIVE=She was FILLED WITH JOY=For she was=LONGING

To HEAR the Lord’s voice=once again=JUST ONE MORE TIME!=and so are WE=”Mary Magdalene=

Went to the Disciples= With the NEWS=’I have SEEN the Lord!’=and she told them=

He had said these  things to her’”                                                                                                             John 20:18

There is/ARE=LOTS of joy=In today’s readings==In SONG OF SONGS=The BRIDE is

Looking for=Her lost love=and then she finds him=”All night LONG=on my bed=I LOOKED

For the one=MY HEART LOVES=I looked for him=But did not find him”      SONG OF SONGS 3:1

And in Psalm 63=The Psalmist is SEARCHING=For his/her God=as You and I are too=

“You God are MY GOD=Earnestly I seek you=I thirst for you=My whole being=LONGS for you=

In a dry and parched land=Where there is no water”                                                               Psalm 63:1

And then we have Mary Magdalen=Whose FEAST is today=SEARCHING for the body of Jesus=

And FINDING THE RISEN LORD!

 

And that is TRUE=of us ALL=On today’s feast=In today’s world=SEARCHING FOR God=Searching for

Jesus=LOOKING to hear=The LORD’S VOICE=Just one more TIME=and much to OUR SURPRISE=Just Like Mary Magdalene=FINDING him=Living=IN our own hearts=our own minds=and

Our OWN SOULS=”For truly I tell you=Many prophets and righteous people=LONGED to see=what

You see=But did not see it=and to HEAR what you hear=But did not hear it”                     Matthew 13:17

“Jerusalem-Jerusalem=You who kill the prophets=and stone those=SENT to you=How often

I have LONGED=To gather your children together=as  a hen gathers her chicks=Under her wings=

And you were NOT WILLING”                                                                                                               Matthew 23:37

“Now there is=In store for me=The Crown of righteousness=Which the Lord=THE RIGHTEOUS

JUDGE=Will award to me=On that day=--------and not only to me=But also to all=Who have

LONGED for his appearing”                                                                                                                 2 Timothy 4:8

LONGING to hear=THE VOICE of Jesus=Just ONE more time=In my HEART=Just like Mary

Magdalene=WE ALL ARE=On this day=Mary’s feast day

 

Mary does NOT RECOGNIZE Jesus=at first=But she KNOWS her SHEPHERD=as we all do too=

Dear Lord=WE PRAY=Let us HEAR your voice=ONE more time=In today’s world=For ONE

MORE MIRACLE!=”ALONGING FULFILLED=is sweet to the soul=But fools detest=Turning

From evil”                                                                                                                                                           Proverbs 13:19

HELP US=Dear Lord=To RECOGNIZE YOUR VOICE=YOUR LOVE=In our life=Even in the

Darkness of this world=Mary Magdaleme was LONGING To hear your voice=and so are

WE ALL!=Just one MORE TIME!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name==Of our FROREVER LIVING=FOREVER LOVING=FOREVER

GUIDING=Holy Father God!

Picture this

 

Your best friend

And teacher has died

The only person

That has ever

Really and truly

Believed in you

 

You go to the tomb

To collect the body

There is

No body there

 

“Don’t be alarmed,”  ( the man says  )

“I know you are looking

For Jesus of Nazareth

Who was crucified.

He is not here,

He has been raised!

Now go

And give the message

To his disciples.”  ( Mark 16:6-7 )

 

You feel

A plethora of feelings/emotions

Confusion, happiness, bewilderment

You really

Are not sure

What you feel

What you believe

 

But you decide

To do what the man said

 

You run

To the rest of your friends

You say,

“They have taken

The Lord out of the tomb

And we don’t know

Where they put him”

 

You and his other best friend

Run back to the tomb

There still

Is no body there

 

Slowly

It is dawning on you

What your best friend Jesus

Has been teaching you

All along

 

At this

Your dear friend---Jesus

Appears to you and says,

“Woman, why are you crying”

 

You do not recognize him

And reply,

“They have taken my Lord away

And I do not know

Where they have put him”

 

Then you recognize him and say

“Teacher”

He says,

“Go and tell our friends

The good news”

 

You run

As fast as you can

To tell

The rest of your friends

That your friend, Jesus

Is indeed alive

 

Dear Lord

Your Resurrection

Has changed everything for us

And has made everything old---new

 

We pray to you---Dear Lord

That your life

Will fill our

Bodies, souls, hearts, and minds

With your new life

I think she has a beautiful body

I think

She is very very sexy

But there’s

Nothing I can say

She doesn’t think of me

That way

 

So I love her heart

I love her soul

I love her mind

Some may think of me

As a fool

But to me

It’s pretty cool

 

There’s more to her

Than her body

She also has a heart

She also has a soul

She has a beautiful mind

I think that’s pretty cool

 

She hasn’t noticed my body

Thank God for that

But she likes my heart

She likes my soul

She likes my mind

She thinks I’m cool

 

So we are in love

But it’s NOT that kind

You might not think it

But it’s pretty cool

 

We have the perfect love

Are people seeing Jesus Christ

People seeing Jesus Christ in me

People seeing Jesus Christ in you

 

Grace sustained

Grace made plain

If I am living right

People should be seeing

God’s grace in me

 

If not

Why not

Is it something in me

Is it something in you

 

Are people seeing God’s grace in me

If not

THE COMPASSION OF JESUS!

 

THE COMPASSION OF JESUS!

Today=we see a story

That DEMONSTRATES Jesus' COMPASSION=

Anyone who has ever LOST

A loved one=would be

DRAWN in too

At the ENTRANCE of

The city Nain=

Jesus encounters a weeping woman=

A woman=who has LOST

Her only son

“A man=who has died

Was being carried out

The ONLY SON

Of his mother

And she was a WIDOW”                                                                                           Luke 7:12

We can only IMAGINE Jesus=

An only son

Seeing the PARALLELS between

His own family=this woman

And his VERY OWN MOTHER

FILLED WITH COMPASSION!

I too can IDENTIFY=when I was 22

And being told=

I was NOT going to live

All I could do

Was imagine the PAIN

Of my mom=and my FAMILY

If I was no longer here

JESUS was FILLED WITH COMPASSION!

For the widow Nain

“As a father

Has COMPASSION

On his children

So the Lord

Has COMPASSION

On those who fear him”                                                                                            Psalm 103:13

“For a brief moment

I abandoned you

But with DEEP COMPASSION

I will bring you back”                                                                                                Isaiah 54:7

“But after I uproot them

I will again have COMPASSION

And will bring

Each of them

BACK to their own inheritance

And their own country”                                                                                            Jeremiah 12:15

Jesus knows something

Of the TENDER relationship

Between a MOTHER

And the LOSS of her child

He KNOWS that the LOSS

Of her child=is

Her GREATEST FEAR

I know it too=because I

Could feel MY MOTHER'S PAIN

If I were lost to her=

And this world

COMPASSION MOVES JESUS!

“But while

He was still a

Long way off

His father saw him

And was FILLED

WITH COMPASSION for him

He ran to his son

Threw his arms

Around him=and kissed him”                                                                                               Luke 15:20

Jesus is MOVED with compassion

He restores LIFE

To the widow Nain's SON

And sees an EMBRACE

Between her and her

Almost gone FOREVER SON

THE COMPASSION OF JESUS!=

How does compassion for

The PAIN in someone else

Move you to ACT TODAY?

FILL YOURSELF with

THE COMPASSION OF JESUS!

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our FOREVER COMFORTING FATHER!

CONTINUES IN US TODAY!

 

We all KNOW=That Jesus and THE RESURRECTION=Of his LIFE=Over death=is

THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD!=But what many of us Don’t know=Or REFUSE to

ACCEPT=Is that the story=HIS STORY=Is to CONTINUE with us=We are to BE=The 21^st

CENTURY Apostles=Of the Holy Father God=and of Jesus=and to BRING them=

BACK TO LIFE=In this world=Like never before=The GREATEST STORY ever Told=

CONTINUES IN US!=”Many people FOLLOWED HIM=and he Cured them all=But

He warned them=NOT to make him known”                                                                          Matthew 12:15-16

 

WHEN Jesus gave=The above quote=He already was with LOVE=He had already

PERFORMED MIRACLES=and had PUT together his 12 APOSTLES=and sent them out=To

PROCLAIM the good news=But the Pharisees were already with IDEAS=About ending his

MISSION=and had John the Baptist  IN PRISON=They wanted TO END this God story=But it

CONTINUED with Jesus=and it CONTINUES WITH US=THIS GREATEST STORY ever told=

HIS 21^st century apostles=”This is the First and GREATEST COMMANDMENT’=and the

Second=Is like it’=’LOVE you NEIGHBOR as yourself’=ALL the Law=and the Prophets=

Hang on these two commandments”                                                                            Matthew 22:38

“Whoever welcomes=This little child=IN my name welcomes me=and Whoever welcomes me=

Welcomes the ONE=who sent me=For it is the One=Who is LEAST among you all=WHO IS

THE GREATEST”                                                                                                                                 Luke 9:48

“And now these three remain=Faith=Hope and Love=But the GREATEST of these is

LOVE”                                                                                                                                             1 Corinthians  13:13

 

Jesus was ON a MISSION=From his Father=His LIFE had a PURPOSE=OUR LIVES should

Have Purpose too=As HIS 21^st Century Apostles and disciples=We should BE AIMING too=

To Bring his name=and the Name of the Holy Father God=Back to EVERY human being=In this

World=That is OUR GREAT PURPOSE=In this life=THE GREATEST LIFE STORY EVER TOLD=

CONTINUES =In each of us=Jesus had INCREDIBLE PERSEVERANCE=We should too!

“Not only so=But we also Glory in=Our sufferings=Because we know that suffering=PRODUCES

PERSEVERANCE==Perseverance-Character=And Character-HOPE=And hope does not=Put us

To shame……..”                                                                                                                                      Romans 5:3

“And let us=RUN WITH PERSEVERANCE=The RACE marked out=for us=Fixing our eyes on Jesus=

The pioneer and PERFECTER of Faith”                                                                                                Hebrews 12:1

 

So harness up YOUR FAITH=My sisters and brothers=Spread the WORD=that the Holy Father God=

And his Son=are ALIVE in this world=That is OUR PURPOSE=To continue=THE GREATEST STORY=

EVER TOLD=In today’s world

“Many are the plans=In a person’s heart=But it is THE LORD’S PURPOSE

 That prevails”                                                                                                                                                 Proverbs 19:21

“And we know=That in all things=God works for the good=Of those who love him=Who have

Been called=ACCORDING to his PURPOSE”                                                                                        Romans 8:28

There is ONE THING

I know about us=

And that is

We worship=A LOVING GOD-

A forgiving God=and a God

Who is

FULL OF KINDNESS

 

Just look at=who God

CHOSE TO

Represent him=on this earth

A man=who was called THE CHRIST!

 

A man=who ALWAYS took the TIME

To perform miracles=heal

The sick=and on occasion

RAISE THE DEAD=and be

Full of kindness=IN this world

THE KINDNESS OF GOD!

 

“……..of the KINDNESS

Of the Lord=the earth IS FULL”                                                                                         Psalm 33:5

 

SCIENTIFIC STUDIES have proven

There are antidepressant microbes

In the earth’s soil=and so

The soil of the earth

CAN MAKE US HAPPY

 

Truly the KINDNESS=and

The love of God

Is all around us

 

SO WHEN= you

Are having a bad day

 

Take a few MOMENTS=and see

The LORD’S KINDNESS breaking through

THE KINDNESS OF GOD!

 

“He has SHOWN KINDNESS-

By giving you rain

From heaven=and crops

In their seasons

 

He provides you=

With plenty of food=and fill

Your hearts with joy”                                                                                                       Acts 14:17

 

“Consider therefore=THE KINDNESS

And sternness of God

 

Sternness to those=who fell

BUT KINDNESS TO YOU=provided

That you continue=IN HIS KINDNESS”                                                                                  Romans 11:22

 

WHERE do you see GOD’S KINDNESS

IN your daily living?

 

Is it in the Giving

Or the RECEIVING=of a good deed

To someone=who lives nearby?

 

Is it in=SPENDING TIME

With your children=or grandchildren?

 

The kindness of God

Is breaking through DAILY=

Don’t forget=to offer thanks

For the love and kindness of God

THE KINDNESS OF GOD!

 

Don’t forget=That kindness

IS one of

THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT=and we

Should always be=LIVING IT

Living in=THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT!

 

“…….in order

That in the coming ages

He might show

 

The incomparable riches

Of his grace=expressed in

HIS KINDNESS to us=In Christ Jesus”

 

THE KINDNESS OF GOD!

Is all around us=even in the soil

Don’t forget=to thank him

For the roof over your head=and the food on your table

 

Giving thanks again for

THE KINDNESS OF GOD!
