CALLED TO BE AN APOSTLE TOO

I wonder where we

Would be

IF the apostles

Had REFUSED to leave their nets

And FOLLOW Jesus

What if NO ONE

Wanted to SHARE Jesus' message?

We OWE so much

To the APOSTLES

Who followed Jesus

And shared his message

The “YES” of the APOSTLES

Has brought JOY

To an untold number

Of people

Who came after=Jesus=and

The MESSAGE that was SHARED

By the apostles=in LOVE

“Jesus said to them=

'Come after me=and I will make you

FISHERS OF MEN'

Then they left their nets

And followed him” Mark 1:17-18

How much THANKS=and GRATITUDE

We owe to the APOSTLES

And all their work

But we have to REMEMBER

That the apostles

Were NOT the only ones

Called to follow Jesus

And make his message KNOWN

We were called

To BE APOSTLES too

We too were called

To SHARE the message

“The generous will

Themselves be blessed

For they SHARE their food

With the poor” Proverbs 22:9

“Now if we are children

Then we are heirs-----------------

Heirs of God

And co-heirs with Christ

If indeed

We SHARE in his sufferings

In order

That we may also

SHARE in his glory” Romans 8:17

“Nevertheless

The one who receives instruction

In the word

Should also SHARE

All good things

With their instructor” Galatians 6:6

Like the APOSTLES

SHARED Jesus' word=message=and love

With the world

Like us SHARING the message

Of Jesus

With our very own lives

We are CALLED

To be an APOSTLE TOO

Jesus addressed all

With his message=

And he TAILORS our various circumstances

And our lives

So that we can BE

HIS APOSTLES TOO

So that we can SHARE

His word and his message

Another REASON for showing

Our GRATITUDE to Jesus

And the apostles

“You know the MESSAGE

God sent to the people

Of Israel

Announcing the good news

Of PEACE through Jesus Christ

Who is LORD OF ALL” Acts 10:36

“Let the MESSAGE of Christ

Dwell among you richly

As you teach and admonish

One another

With all wisdom

Through psalms-hymns-and songs

From the SPIRIT

Singing to God

With GRATITUDE in your hearts” Colossians 3:16

Yes we can ALL be apostles=

No matter who we are=

Parents=students=physicians=

Plumbers=retired people

We are CALLED to be APOSTLES

We are all called

To SPREAD the WORD & LOVE of God

Lord=HELP US make you known

THROUGH our words and our actions

Often times

We think of life as a destination

If we get that job

Then I’ll be happy

If we get that person as a partner

Then I’ll be happy

The truth is

Nothing external to ourselves

Can make us happy

The truth is

Life is a journey

We have good days

We have bad days

But we have

To get up every day

And KEEP on going

Because every day MATTERS

There is a retired minister

From a church I once belonged to

Who used to say

“We are ALL a “work-in-progress”

I could not agree more

Hopefully-when we leave this world

Someone will have benefited

Because we were a part of it

I would like you to ask yourself a question

And the question is:

If you could change one thing about your life

Or one quality about yourself

Would you do it

My first reaction was

That I would love to change my health situation

It would make life better/easier

In so many areas

However-upon further reflection

I would not

Because it would change

Who I am internally

And I am finally

Getting to the point

That I really and truly

Like who I am---internally speaking

What about you

What would you change about yourself

Field=Building=C0-WORKERS=Can it be=ANY more PLAIN than that?=WE are to be

CHRIST’S FOUNDATION=in this world=The FOUNDATION of God’s love My friends=This IS=

The Invitation for us=To remain OPEN=to the HOLY SPIRIT of God=The FATHER and Jesus are

Telling us=To Receive the seeds=Of God’s grace=God’s wisdom=God’s love=and the DIVINE

Purpose of the Lord=for which we are to be=and to FIND the Foundation of Jesus Christ=For

It LIVES within ourselves=and to take that PURPOSEFUL LOVE=to the entire world

“So this is what=The sovereign Lord says’=’See I lay a stone in Zion=a tested stone=a precious

Cornerstone=for a SURE FOUNDATION=The one who relies on it=Will never be stricken

With panic’” Isaiah 28:16

“For no one=CAN LAY ANY FOUNDATION=Other than the one already laid=which is

For the world=We are THE CO-WORKERS=HE is to LIVE in us=and we are to BRING Jesus ALIVE=

And so my SISTERS and BROTHERS=When the storms of your life=Come CALLING to threaten you=

FIND peace and solace=-In God’s INVITATION TO PARTNERSHIP with him=For Jesus Christ is=

THE ONE AND SURE FOUNDATION=of each and everyone of us=and our lives=We all Find=

OUR PURPOSE in him=and in THE FATHER!

Accomplish =what I desire=and ACHIEVE THE PURPOSE=For which I

Sent it” Isaiah 55:11

“And we know=That in all things=God works for the good=Of those who love him=Who have

My dear brothers and sisters=Jesus’ invitation to PARTNER with him=MAKES him number

ONE in our lives again=and we are to TRY and make him number ONE=with the world=By

LOVING him=By trusting him=In EACH ACT of our faith=and by TAKING POSITIVE STEPS forward=

With him=In our lives=Jesus and THE FATHER=are the SURE FOUNDATION of our lives

What WAY= do you=or did you CHOOSE?

Many years ago=There was a SONG sung by Frank Sinatra called=”I DID

IT MY WAY”=I don’t CLAIM to be an ORIGINAL THINKER=for I am TRYING

To do it THE LORD’S WAY=To what I consider=HIS BASIC TEACHING=I am

TRYING=but easier said=THAN DONE=”May another=Take his office” Acts 1:20

WE live in a society today=That places great worth=ON BEING=an individual=

GREAT WORTH in doing things=YOUR OWN WAY=but WHY=shouldn’t I live=

THE LORD’S WAY=For my friends=no one else=In the HISTORY of civilization=

EVER did it any better=HE found the KEY to eternal life!

STAY CONNECTED to Christ!=TRY to live=and LOVE his way=or at least make=

A maximum EFFORT=at living like the Holy Father God=and HIS SON

LOVING others as yourself=Forgiving 70X&=Living the BEATITUDES=

Stay TRUTHFUL=Stay INCLUSIVE=LIVE the Lord’s way=with MAXIMUM EFFORT

“Jesus said to them’=’MAKE EVERY EFFORT=to enter through=the narrow door=

Because many=I tell you=Will try to enter=and will NOT be able to’” Luke 13:24

“It does not therefore=DEPEND On human desire=OR EFFORT=but on God’s mercy” Romans 9:16

“So then dear friends=Since you are looking forward to this=MAKE EVERY EFFORT=

My DEAR BROTHERS and sisters=NONE of us=Can make it=TO HEAVEN=Based

On our own efforts=We will all=COME UP SHORT=We are ALL DEPENDENT=on

The LORD’S love and mercy=and the love and MERCY=of our Holy Father God=

We need to try and IMITATE=their way of love=but we will STILL=come up short=

NEVERTHELESS=We need to TRY and do it=THE LORD’S WAY=The Lord’s Way=

Of Love=Mercy=Kindness=and Forgiveness

“Jesus answered’=’I am the WAY=and the truth and the life=No one comes to

THE FATHER=Except through me” John 14:6

“Now eagerly=Desire the greater gifts=And yet=I will show you=THE MOST

EXCELLENT WAY” 1 Corinthians 12:31

“Therefore brothers and sisters=Since we have confidence=To enter the Most

Holy Place=by the blood of Jesus=By a new and LIVING WAY=Opened for us

Through the curtain==that is=HIS BODY” Hebrews 10:19-20

And so my brothers=and SISTERS=MAKE EVERY EFFORT=In putting your own

SPIN on your life=But always try=to IMITATE=His LOVE=His forgiveness=his

MERCY=and his Kindness=For HIS WAY=The Lord’s way=and the WAY=Of

His Father=IS THEE WAY=”……..For in Christ Jesus=I became your Father=through

The gospel=Therefore I urge you=TO IMITATE ME” 1 Corinthians 4:15-16

IMITATE Jesus’ love=and the love=Of the 12 twelve who=CAME AFTER HIM=and

Saint Paul=who came after him=THERE IS=NO OTHER WAY!

My brothers and sisters=I FAILED=In living life=MY OWN WAY=Now I try

To do it=By the LORD’S WAY=I am trying=STAY CONNECTED To Jesus!

“He will proclaim=Peace to the nations=HIS RULE will extend=From sea to sea=and

YES=Let us be thankful=For the GOODNESS AND LOVE=and God’s grace=That has been given=

RULE in today’s world!

OUR LORD’S LOVE=their rules and their WORDS=LOVE ALWAYS WINS!

Are you LIVING FOR GOD=and LOVING FOR GOD=In today’s world?=If so=you

Have FOUND OUT=Like me=That to do that=IS NOT so easy==With all the OBSTACLES=

That are thrown at you=IN TODAY’S WORLD=it is AN OBSTACLE COURSE out there=

Our Great Saint Peter=Found that out=some 2,000 years ago=”Get behind ME Satan!=You

Are an OBSTACLE to me” Matthew 16:23

Peter did NOT WANT=Jesus to give HIS LIFE=Back to the Father=For all mankind=So JESUS=

Calls Peter a STUMBLING BLOCK=For thinking like=A HUMAN BEING!=And do NOT=each one=

Of us=WHO are trying to LIVE OUR LIVES for God and=Love God and others=RUN into our SHARE=

Of stumbling blocks=and OBSTACLES=So many of us=Have turned our backs on Christ=God=

And THE CHURCH=LIVING FOR GOD!=LOVING FOR GOD!=Takes Patience=and takes stamina=as

Well as WILLPOWER

“Great peace=have those who=LOVE your law=and Nothing can=

Make them STUMBLE” Psalm 119:165

“He will be=A holy place=For both Israel and Judah=He will be=a stone that cause people to

STUMBLE=and a rock=that makes them fall” Isaiah 8:14

“They will come=with weeping=They will PRAY=as I bring them back=I will lead them beside=

Streams of water=On a level path=Where they will Not STUMBLE=Because I am Israel’s Father=

And Ephraim is my firstborn son” Jeremiah 31:9

LIVING FOR GOD!=LOVING FOR GOD!=That is something we=CAN all do==Or at least TRY=as

21^st CENTURY APOSTLES=for the Lord=Do not be AFRAID to stumble=as Peter did!

I do not=WANT to be=a STUMBLING BLOCK=For the Lord=for others=IN our world today=I

Want to be a DISCIPLE=for the LORD=a building block=For Jesus=UNTIL OUR LORD=Decides

To come back!

We are all BUSY=LIVING OUR LIVES=and we all have=OUR OWN personal ambitions=But by

HELPING the Lord=Build his Kingdom=We are being buildings BLOCKS=we are being AMBASSADORS of GOD’S LOVE=LIVING FOR GOD!=LOVING FOR GOD!

“We are therefore=CHRIST’S ANBASSADORS=as thought God were making=His appeal through

Us=We implore you=ON CHRIST’S BEHALF=Be reconciled to God” 2 Corinthians 5:20

Dear Lord=We pray to you=FOR YOUR HELP=to help us BE=a PATH FOR OTHERS=to the

Lord=and the HOLY FATHER GOD=For their Kingdom on earth=and in HEAVEN=For we want to

LIVE our lives Like=Mini Christs=LIVING FOR GOD!=LOVING FOR GOD!

“Your word is a lamp=For my feet=A Light for MY PATH!” Psalm 119:105

“The PATH of life=Leads upward for the prudent=To keep them from=Going down to the

Realm of the dead” Proverbs 15:24

A good idea=TO DOUBT our God

It is never=a good idea=to doubt

That GOD CAN AND WILL

Do miracles=in your life

Right BEFORE=I went unconscious

WHEN I was 22=

Right after=I made my LAST RIGHTS

And was TOLD=that I have

NO CHANCE TO LIVE=I didn’t know

BUT I BELIEVED=God

Could work a MIRACLE=in me=and he did

HAVING DIVINE BELIEF!=Taking

OUR COMFORT in God=I have lived 49 and ½ years

LONGER than ever expected

BELIEF and doubt=seem to coincide=

They are PRESENT=in everything we do

In our health matters=IF we move

To a new residence=If we take

A new job=and in our RELATIONSHIPS

With our family and friends

I CHOOSE to believe in God=

MORE than doubt=

I choose to HAVE DIVINE BELIEF!=

To believe in the DIVINE POSSIBILITIES

For our lives=TAKING MY COMFORT=in

God’s plan for our lives=HAVING DIVINE BELIEF!

“I will=fear no evil=for you are

With me=Your rod and staff=

THEY COMFORT ME” Psalm 23:4

“May your unfailing love=

BE MY COMFORT=according to your promise

To your servant” Psalm 119:76

“Praise be=to the God=and Father

Of our Lord Jesus Christ=

The Father of compassion=and

The God=OF ALL COMFORT……..” 2 Corinthians 1:4

Our God=never wants us

TO DOUBT HIM=he wants us=to have

That DIVINE BELIEF in him

And I do=I hope that

You ALL do too

REMEMBER=Our Jesus told

Our apostle Thomas=to STOP DOUBTING

And believe=and he told a man

Who asked him=to HEAL his son=NOT

To doubt what he could do

NEVER doubt our Jesus=HAVING DIVINE BELIEF!

So don’t doubt that God and Jesus

CAN PERFORM A MIRACLE=in your life

And TAKE COMFORT in him=have

THAT DIVINE BELIEF!

“As it is written’=

‘See=I lay in Zion=a stone

That causes people to stumble=

And a rock that makes them fall=and

The one who BELIEVES IN HIM=

Will never be put to shame’” Romans 9:33

You will NEVER be commended=

For doubting God=but if

You believe in him=if you

HAVE DIVINE BELIEF!=and take COMFORT

In God=you may see=SOME MIRACLES

In your life

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our EVER DIVINE=miracle working=Holy Father God!

PREPARING FOR PRAYER!=PREPARING FOR TIME=With the LORD!

PREPARING FOR PRAYER!=PREPARING FOR TIME=

With the LORD too!

Did you ever NOTICE=an athlete=Does NOT just show up=For the game=Or for the

Marathon race?=They TRAIN=It is the SAME WAY=with OUR MEETING=with the LORD!=

We need to PREPARE=For that MASS=Or for that CHRISTIAN SERVICE=On Sunday=Or

Whatever day=Of the week that that is=We need TO PREPARE=to meet the LORD=In

PRAYER=Or for our Inheritance in HEAVEN!=Are you PREPARED to meet OUR LORD?

“The foolish ones=WHEN taking their lamps=Brought NO OIL with them=But the WISE=

Brought flasks=Of oil=with their lamps” Matthew 25:3-4

PREPARE for the LORD!=Prepare for THAT DAY=He is coming back=and he is=JESUS IS!=

COMING back with The Father=Do NOT be like=Those five foolish virgins=Whose lights burned

Out=BE PREPARED=When the bridegroom comes back=Do not be foolish!=Be WISE and

PREPARE=Prepare for Prayer!=and PREPARE FOR YOUR living/loving GOD OF LOVE!

OUR SPIRITUAL LIVES=in this world=are OUR TRAINING to meet Jesus=and HIS FATHER=as

Well as THE HOLY FAMILY in Heaven=It takes much TRAINING=It takes MUCH PREPARING=to

MEET our Jesus=Our LORD=should BE=with us every minute of the DAY=Spend your day with

Jesus and HIS FATHER=No matter what you are doing=Be IN TRAINING=for that eternal time=

OF YOUR LIFE=With the Lord=PREPARE FOR PRAYER!=Prepare for THE LORD!

Do you have A MANTRA=A PREPARATION PRAYER=That you say to yourself=ALL DAY LONG?=

Since I was a YOUNG BOY=I have always REPEATED to myself=and to the LORD=and HIS FATHER=

“EVERYTHING I am=Everything I could ever BE=Everything I will ever be=IS all because of you

LORD”=And so be it=That is the WAY=MY LIFE has turned out=and I would NOT change it=IF

I could==PREPARE to meet the Lord=Your LIFE=is your training place=for YOUR INHERITANCE=with The Lord and HIS FATHER!=”However as it is written=’What no eye has seen=What no ear has

Heard=and what NO human mind has conceived’=--------The things God has PREPARED for=those

Who LOVE HIM=--------” 1 Corinthians 2:9

“For we are=God’s handiwork=Created in Christ Jesus=to do good works=Which GOD PREPARED=
