There’s a saying

That goes like

When you look

At the mountain long enough

You become the mountain

 

Well I hope

That that is true

Because I have looked

At the mountain

And I have looked at love

And I turned to love

To get me through

 

The mountains keep getting larger

My love keeps getting stronger

Will my love get me through

 

I looked at the mountain

Is my love

Strong enough to get me through

There is=A FUNDAMENTAL QUESTION=that each and

EVERY ONE of us=have to ASK ourselves=What and WHO do you say

That Jesus is?=”He said to them’=’But WHO do you say That I am?’”                       Matthew 16:13-19

 

WE ALL=Know the answer NOW=Or at least we should know=But

Back then=NO ONE knew the answer=EXCEPT for Peter=for he was

CLUED in=by the Holy Father God=Peter’s RESPONSE=”Simon Peter

Answered’=’You are THE MESSIAH=the Son of the LIVING GOD’

And Jesus replied=’Blessed are you=Simon=Son of Jonah=For this

Was not revealed=to you by flesh and blood=But MY FATHER=in heaven’”           Matthew 16:16-17

“’And I tell you=that you are Peter=and on this ROCK=I will build my

Church=and the gates of Hades=will not overcome it’”                                                   Matthew 16:18

 

So far that=HAS NOT HAPPENED=but the DEVIL=is sure TRYING=Like

The dickens =to DESTROY PEOPLE=to Destroy families=and to DESTROY

The Christian Church=That is WHY=It is MORE important than ever=for

PEOPLE OF FAITH=People of God=people of LOVE=to band together

 

We are UNDER ATTACK my friends=Our FAMILIES=are under attack=Our

Churches=Temples=and Mosques are under attack=PEOPLE OF LOVE=People

Of God=Must come together=UNDER the Son of man=Under the Son of

THE LIVING GOD!

“Therefore=the Lord himself=will give you a SIGN=The virgin will=Conceive

And give birth=to a Son=And will call him Immanuel”                                                             Isaiah 7:14

 

“This is MY SON=Whom I love=with him=I am well pleased”                                        Matthew 3:17

“For God=so LOVE the world=That he gave his=One and only SON=

That whoever believes in him=shall not perish=but have ETERNAL LIFE”                     John 3:16

 

WHO do you say=Or What is JESUS to you?=For me=LIKE PETER=He is the

SON of the Father=the Son of=the FOREVER LIVING=Holy Father God=I have

KNOWN that=My whole life=and I have PUT my faith IN HIM=and them=And that

Is why I think=The Holy Father God=and Jesus=SUSTAIN ME with LIFE=Jesus was=

IS=the Son Of GOD=He is THE MESSIAH OF LOVE=and there is=NO GETTING

Around it

 

WITH the devil=Running rampant=in this world=Trying to DESTROY=Trying

To destroy you=Trying to DESTROY YOUR FAMILY=Trying to destroy the

CHRISTIAN CHURCH=Temples=and Mosques=We BETTER CLING together=We

Better Cling to Jesus=and HIS FATHER=with ALL of our might=They are

THE SUSTAINERS OF LIFE!

“I am=the God of Abraham=The God of Isaac=and the God of Jacob=He is NOT

The God of the dead=BUT OF THE LIVING”                                                                                         Matthew 22:32

 

“I am=THE LIVING ONE=I was dead=and now look I AM ALIVE=for ever=and

Ever=And I HOLD the keys=of death and Hades”                                                                            Revelation 1:18

 

Peter KNEW the answer=I do too=WHAT and Who=do you say Jesus is?=and who

IS the Holy Father God to you?

There is an age old

QUESTION=in WHICH PERSON on this

Earth is God?

The answer is an

EASY ONE=EVERYONE=for

In EACH of us

There is A TRACE OF

The presence of GOD

SEE GOD'S PRESENCE

IN EVERYONE!

“Then I heard EVERY creature

In heaven=and on earth

And under

The earth

And in the sea=

EVERYTHING in the universe

Cry out”                                                                                                            Revelation 5:13

This is a DEEP QUESTION=

Do we see the

PRESENCE of God

Not only in the priest=

Not only in the LEAD service minister

But do I see a

TRACE OF GOD

In everyone 

In the CHURCH?

In every person

That I MEET=even

In the BEGGAR on the street?

“For what you have done

I will always

Praise you

In the PRESENCE

Of your faithful people........”                                                                              Psalm 52:9

“How can we-

Thank GOD enough for you

In return

For all the joy

We have

In the PRESENCE

Of our God

Because of you?”                                                                                                         1 Thessalonians 3:9

“This is how we know

That we belong to the truth

And how we set

Our hearts at rest

IN HIS PRESENCE”                                                                                                 1 John 3:19

It is EASY to see

God's presence

In our LOVED ONES

And in individuals

That are a lot

LIKE OURSELVES

But how about

SEEING God in

Those that are

DIFFERENT than us

Those that

Are different in age-

In ethnicity-in social standing-

Or different than us POLITICALLY

Seeing GOD'S PRESENCE=

In everyone

The word=REVELATION=means

Removing the veil=

BETWEEN the seen

And unseen

Dear Lord=we PRAY

Help us to see

GOD'S PRESENCE

In everyone today

In those alike=and

Those who are DIFFERENT

Than us

“The Lord is

In his holy temple-

The Lord is on

His heavenly throne

He observes

EVERYONE on earth-

His eyes examine them”                                                                                     Psalm 11:4

“By this EVERYONE

Will know that you

Are my disciples

If you=

CHALLENGES=sometimes even setbacks=Today’s GOSPEL

Is an EXAMPLE of that=with “WOE TO YOUS”=to the TEACHERS

Of the law=and the Pharisees and hypocrites=”WOE to you=Teachers

Of the law and Pharisees=You hypocrites”                                                                            Matthew 23:15

 

The TRUTH is=the only example=in this life=we are to FOLLOW=is

The example o Jesus Christ=His example of LOVE=of forgiveness=and

Kindness=a life of EXAMPLE=and SCRIPTURES to follow-Our SCRIPTURES

Offer challenges=but they also OFFER ENCOURAGEMENT

 

And if we FOLLOW=Jesus’  examples of FAITH AND ENDURANCE=we

Stand out to God= we stand out to others=we ARE EXAMPLES TOO!

 

“Listen to me=Judah and people of Jerusalem!=Have FAITH in the Lord

Your God=and you will be upheld=HAVE FAITH in his prophets=and

You will be successful”                                                                                                       2 Chronicles 20:20

 

“HAVE FAITH in God’= Jesus answered=’Truly I tell you=if anyone=

Says to this mountain=’Go throw yourself into the sea’=and does not

Doubt=in their heart=but believes what they say=will happen=it will

The Thessalonians are EXPERIENCING persecution=but Paul

Tells them to REMAIN HOPEFUL=in their FAITH=and Paul and Jesus

Tell us this same thing=with their actions=their deeds and their words=

THEIR LIVES tell us=LIVE WITH FAITH AND ENDURANCE=for

It is VISIBLE to all=Including God

 

“May the God=who gives ENDURANCE and encouragement=give you

The same attitude of mind=toward each other=That Christ had=so that

 

With one mind=and one voice=You may glorify=the God and Father

Of our Lord Jesus Christ”                                                                                                                   Romans 15:5-6

 

“……..being strengthened=with all power=according to his

Glorious might=so that you may have=GREAT ENDURANCE and patience”                Colossians 1:11

 

What we HOPE for in life=shapes what we live for=and when we

EXPERIENCE doubt and difficulties=we still have to live=WITH FAITH

And ENDURANCE=for that is VISIBLE to God=and visible to others=and

Is an EXAMPLE OF CHRIST”=”I have set YOU AN EXAMPLE=that you

Should do=as I have done for you”                                                                                              John 13:15

 

Let your FAITH AND ENDURANCE=be VISIBLE to God

And others=and be EXAMPLES of sharing the GOOD NEWS

Goodbyes are difficult

Goodbyes always

Cause someone pain

 

Goodbyes occur

For many reasons

A move, a death, a broken relationship

 

But as Jesus

Was leaving this world

Jesus said

I leave my peace

With you

 

It is the kind of peace

That is

Not the peace from this world

But a peace

In spite of this world

 

A peace that says

In every situation

I am with you

To trust God

And know

God will bring you safely home

 

God’s peace

Is a victory

Over the darkness of sin

In this world

 

It is a victory over

The coldness, the indifference, the selfishness

The ingratitude, the luke warmness

And rejection of this world

 

So please know

That whatever you are facing

In this world

 

And if you

Are facing

A goodbye for any reason

I wish you peace

MANY of you=KNOW about my promise=I made on my deathbed in 1977=

WHEN I had gangrene=peritonitis=septicemia=13 blood transfusions=and

A temperature of 108 degrees=”TO LIVE=for my family=my friends=and ALL PEOPLE

EVERYWHERE”

 

Today=about two weeks=after my latest surgery=and hospitalization=and a CRITICAL SITUATION=

I humbly=REAFFIRM THAT PROMISE=To the Holy Father God=and his Son Jesus=A REMINDER

To myself=and to ALL OF US=”TO LIVE LOVING GOD FIRST=and to live=LOVING ALL OTHERS”

“I will MAINTAIN my love to him FOREVER=MY COVENANT with him=

Will NEVER FAIL”                                                                                                                                                  Psalm 89:28

My dear BROTHERS AND sisters=This life is NOT getting any easier for me=To keep and

MAINTAIN THAT PROMISE=In fact=It is getting harder=For my chronic pain and nausea has=

NOT gone away=With surgery=But I will CARRY THIS PROMISE=for as long as I MAY LIVE=with

THE LOVE=The HOLY FATHER has given me=I WILL CARRY it with Courage and with HOPE=for

Myself and all others!

 

“The Lord=has kept=THE PROMISE HE MADE”                                                                              1 Kings 8:20

“THE PROMISE=is for you=and your children=and for all=Who are far off=--------For all=

Whom the LORD our God will call”                                                                                                       Acts 2:39

“He redeemed us=In order=That the BLESSING given to Abraham=Might come to the GENTILES=

Through Christ Jesus=So that by FAITH=we might RECEIVE THE PROMISE=

Of the Holy Spirit”                                                                                                                                           Galatians 3:14

And so my SISTERS and brothers=MY REQUEST to you all=IS that you keep=PRAYING FOR ME=

That I can KEEP RENEWING MY PROMISE=and that I can=KEEP living the life=OF GOD’S LOVE=and

Jesus’ love=WITH COURAGE AND HOPE!

“BE strong and COURAGEOUS=Do not be afraid or terrified=Because of them=For the Lord=

“Be on your guard=Stand firm=In the FAITH=Be COURAGEOUS=Be strong=DO EVERYTHING

That is right MY DEAR FRIENDS=The Holy Father God LOVES YOU!=and so does his Son

Jesus=I LOVE YOU ALL TOO!=God’s love=YOUR ALL’S LOVE=CARRIES ME=It is what enables me=

TO KEEP ON GOING=SO let us NOT QUIT on one another=Let us not give up=LET US LIVE=

For God and LOVE=and for each other=WITH HOPE=for as long as we can!

“Let us hold unswervingly=TO THE HOPE=we profess=For he WHO PROMISED=

And so my SISTERS AND BROTHERS=Take the oath and THE PROMISE=along with me=For today

And tomorrow=GOD PROMISES LIFE-He gives us life and love=to LOVE HIM=and to love all others

For he is THE GOD OF LIFE=the God OF HOPE!

THE PRESENCE OF MIND

“MY Father

So ALWAYS

Do the WILL

Of your own father and mother-

And pay attention

To what and who

Your earthly brothers and sisters are

But also REMEMBER

Who your HEAVENLY relatives  are:

“For WHOEVER 

DOES the will

Of my heavenly Father

IS my brother, sister, and mother”                                              Matthew 12:50

SO-of course-I LOVE-my earthly sisters

And ALL my earthly relatives

BUT I also LOVE

ALL of you

My heavenly brothers and sisters

In Christ

YOU KNOW-who you are-

For I make NO SECRET of it

I LOVE 

ALL of you dearly too

Jesus was ALWAYS MOTIVATED

By doing his FATHER'S WILL

ALL the way

To the point

Of his death

I too

Like my HERO-Jesus

Always try to do

The will

Of my HEAVENLY FATHER

What a great motivating factor

“ALL a person's ways

SEEM pure to them

But motives

Are WEIGHED by the Lord”                                                      Proverbs 16:2

DOING the WILL

Of the Lord

And the things of today

Are very DIFFERENT

Than they were

2000 years ago

So things today

May call for different actions

But SOME THINGS are FOR SURE:

WE can't go wrong

By loving THE GOD OF LOVE

We can't go wrong

By loving others

And we can't go wrong

By being KIND AND FORGIVING OTHERS

We know for certain

That doing these things

Are certainly:

“DOING THE WILL OF GOD”

To do 

The WILL OF GOD THE FATHER

Is acknowledging God

As our creator

ACCEPTING the teachings

Of Jesus

And LIVING our lives

According to God's teachings

MAY we ALL

LOVE our earthly family

LOVE OUR heavenly family

And do

THE WILL OF GOD

THEN we will know

We are BUILDING

BOTH GOD'S earthly

And heavenly kingdoms

Today is the feast

Of Jesus’ cousin, John

He was a forerunner

To Jesus’ message

Of peace and love

But he taught

In a way

Of fire and brimstone

 

He tried to

Prepare the way

For Jesus

He tried

To do what is right

He was rewarded

For his efforts

By someone

Cutting off his head

 

John had many followers

He even baptized Jesus

He was Jesus’ cousin

He was Jesus’

Forerunner in love

Ps        “Then Jesus came from Galilee

              To the Jordan to be baptized by John

              But John tried to deter him saying,

 

             “I need to be baptized by you

              And do you come to me?”

 

              Jesus replied,

 

              “Let it be so now

                It is proper for us

                To do this to fulfill all righteousness”

 

                Then John consented

 

               As soon as Jesus was baptized

               He went up out of the water

               At that moment-heaven was opened

               And he saw the SPIRIT OF GOD

               Descending like a dove and lighting on him

               And a voice from heaven said,

 

               “This is my Son-whom I love

                With him I am well pleased”                                               Matthew 3:13-17

 

BE A LIGHT=IN TODAY'S WORLD

 

BE A LIGHT=IN TODAY'S WORLD

We live in CONFLICTING-

Disappointing times=in which

There is NO PUBLIC UNITY

Where we can't even AGREE

On a leader=we can't LOOK

To political people

For SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

We need to be THE VOICE=

The voice for the world

WE need to be the LIGHT

IN OUR DARKNESS

“If you remove

From your midst oppression=

False accusation

And malicious speech

If you BESTOW

Your bread on the hungry

And SATISFY the afflicted

The LIGHT shall rise

For you in

The darkness

And the gloom

Shall BECOME for you

Like midday”                                                                                                            Isaiah 58:9-10

ISAIAH tells us today

That when we are CONFRONTED

By HUMAN SUFFERING

Our call is NOT

To look to another

To fix it all

Our call is to

LEAVE our comfort zone=

STEP FORWARD

For the NEEDY=and embrace

Our brothers and sisters

In Christ

BE THE LIGHT=

In this world-

Be the light

In this dark dark world

“The Lord wraps himself-

IN LIGHT=

As with a garment

He stretches out

The heavens

Like a tent”                                                                                                            Psalm 104:2

“The people

Walking in darkness

Have seen a GREAT LIGHT”                                                                            Isaiah 9:2

“This is the verdict=

LIGHT has come

Into the world

But people loved darkness

Instead of LIGHT=

Because their deeds

Were evil”                                                                                                             John 3:19

With the election=coming up

This year=there seems

NO END

To the political talk

We LIVE in a spiritually

Barren time=NO MATTER

Who wins the

Upcoming election

We were born to FIGHT

GOD'S BATTLES=and there is

NOTHING stopping us from

Being that LIGHT

In Matthew=chapter 5

Jesus gives us the BEATITUDES=

And he tells us

We are BLESSED

“BLESSED are

The PURE in heart

For they will see God”                                                                                     Matthew 5:8

This year=no matter

What else happens=

It is TIME for us

To step forward=and

BE=LIGHT

To our country=and our world

In the name of Jesus=and OUR FATHER=our ONGOING LIGHT

ONLY GOD---The Restorer of Lost Things

 

Only God

 

Who Can Restore Lost Things

Who or what can restore a broken soul

Only God

 

In a world

That breaks us down

A world

That leaves us cold

A world that breaks us in two

Tell me God

What can we do

 

For every million out there

That can heal a broken body

There is only one

Who can restore a broken soul

 

ONLY GOD can do it

Restore my heart

Oh Lord

Restore my soul

 

For all those out there

Who can heal a broken body

For ALL of us out here

Broken in so many ways

But this world can break you---Oh Lord

You know that all too well

What are we to do

 

Create in me a clean heart

A NEW AND RIGHT SPIRIT  within me

IT'S NOT EASY=TO BE A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST

 

IT'S NOT EASY

(TO BE A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST)

It wasn't easy

To be a follower of Christ

Two thousand years ago

In fact

It could cost you 

Your very life

And often did

TODAY-unless we are

In a foreign land

It is not likely to cost us

Our life

Yet it can cost us-

You and me-a great deal

“Peter began to say to Jesus,

'We have given up everything

And followed you'”                                                                      Mark 10:28

Today-it is MORE likely

To cost in terms

Of our finances

Or the TIME we devote

To our ministry

But what about

The less tangible ways

WHAT are the costs

Well we

Shouldn't be judging others

And we shouldn't be gossiping

About our neighbor

And we shouldn't be OVERLY CRITICAL

Of others or ourselves

And we shouldn't be RETURNING

Harsh words or hatred to others

WHEN they have mistreated us

So there are COSTS

To carrying the cross

Just as there were great costs

To Jesus and his disciples

“The BEGINNING of wisdom 

Is this:  GET WISDOM

Though it cost ALL you have-

GET UNDERSTANDING”                                                               Proverbs 4:7

IT'S NOT EASY

To be a FOLLOWER of Christ

“Then Jesus said to his disciples,

'WHOEVER wants to be

My disciple

MUST deny themselves

And TAKE UP the cross

And follow me

For whoever wants 

To SAVE their life

Will lose it

And whoever loses their life

For me

WILL FIND IT”                                                                                 Matthew 16:24-25

I found myself

I found MY LIFE

I found my PURPOSE

For living

In being a FOLLOWER of Christ

No-it has not been easy

It is a CONSTANT CHALLENGE

To KEEP God and Christ

Number ONE in your life

It's hard

To be a follower of Christ

And we are

NEVER going to be perfect at it

Maybe-not even good at it

But every day-

WE get a NEW OPPORTUNITY

A fresh opportunity

To be strengthened

By OUR FAITH

And by God's and Christ's GRACE

And by our community

To GROW CLOSER to God

Dear Lord-the REWARDS

Of your LOVE AND GRACE

Are worth the COST
