ON THE RIGHT TRACK?


Do you want to
LIVE FOREVER?


It's SIMPLE-just be PERFECT
PERFECT IN LOVE
Perfect in forgiveness
Perfect in EVERY action
-You have ever made-from GOD'S PERSPECTIVE
In this life


How PREPOSTEROUS is that?-
Everyone dies eventually


NOT so=says Jesus=if you can
Act in-and KEEP=ALL his
Father's words


“Jesus said to the Jews-
'Amen-amen-I say to you-
WHOEVER keeps my word
Will NEVER see death'


So the Jews
Said to him
'NOW we are sure
That you are possessed'” John 8:51-52


YES!-Jesus was
On the RIGHT TRACK-
LIVING ON the word of-
And in OBEDIENCE
To his FATHER'S WORD


How about you?
How about me?
Are we LIVING on the RIGHT TRACK?


Are we living by
The WORD of God?-
And not earthly possessions and values?


“And the words
Of the Lord
Are FLAWLESS


Like silver purified
In a crucible
Like GOLD refined seven times” Psalm 12:6


“Heaven and earth
Will pass away


But my WORDS
Will NEVER pass away” Matthew 24:35


So ALL we have to do
To LIVE FOREVER
Is to KEEP the word
Of God-and the WORD
Of Jesus


We may LEAVE this world
But we will LIVE FOREVER
In God and in Christ


ARE you on
The right rack=yes or no=
Just ADHERE to the TEACHINGS
Of Christ


As CHRISTIAN-we STRIVE to keep
The LORD'S WORD-in what we do
And in what we say


And what we DON'T DO
And don't say


People may CRITICIZE us
For living in the WAY
God WANTS us to live


They might think
WE are taking this “GOD THING”
A little too far


But really WHO ARE WE
If we are NOT living on
The WORD of God
The Word of Christ


CERTAINLY NOT CHRISTIANS


“My son
If you ACCEPT my words
And store up
My commands within you
….....” Proverbs 2:1


“Simon Peter answered him-
'Lord-to whom shall we go


You have the words
Of eternal life


WE have COME TO BELIEVE
That YOU
Are the HOLY ONE of God” John 6:68-69


So keep on the RIGHT TRACK
My friend


Keep the word of God
And you will
LIVE FOREVER in him


Dear Lord-draw us EVER CLOSER
To you-not the world


We BELONG to you
In your name Jesus-AMEN


I LOVE all people of every FAITH-
Every country-and every ethnicity

LIVING IN A BETTER WORLD


Throughout time
EVEN in the old testament
Prophets came
On behalf of God


SOME really were sent
From God-like Jeremiah-Isaiah-
Daniel-and many others


BUT many were false prophets
Saying that they were sent by God


They were actually bringing
FALSE truths and lies-
Just telling the people
What they wanted to hear


“Your prophets
Had before you
False and specious visions


They did not lay bare
Your guilt
To avert your fate


They beheld for you
In vision
False and misleading portents” Lamentations 2:14


Today it is the politicians
Telling us
What we want to hear


And we hear it
From the advertisers-
It is ENTICING


Who doesn't want to live
In a better world?
Who doesn't want to be
Richer-healthier-and more attractive?


BUT the ONLY WAY
To live in a truly better world


IS to live the message
Of God
LIVE the message of Jesus Christ


That is the REAL and TRUE way
To truly build a better world


“He rules the world
In righteousness


He judges the peoples
With equity” Psalm 9:8


“You are the LIGHT
Of the world


A town built on a hill
CANNOT be hidden” Matthew 5:14


“The God
Who MADE the world
And everything in it


Is the Lord
Of heaven and earth


And does NOT live in temples
BUILT by human hands” Acts 17:24


LIVING in a better world
Built by God and Jesus


The gospel-the MESSAGE given
To us by Jesus
PROMISES us change


But not without effort


He-the Lord-asks us to commit
Ourselves-to TRANSFORM ourselves-
To actually make ourselves into better people
BY LIVING THE GOSPEL


The Lord calls us
To the hard work of CHANGE


Dear Lord-PLEASE help us-we PRAY
To really and truly-
CHANGE the things that we can


So that we can ALL
Truly live


IN A BETTER WORLD

DON'T PUT OFF UNTIL TOMORROW=
THINK ABOUT IT TODAY


There used to be an old saying:
“Don't put off until tomorrow-
WHAT you can DO today”


I'll put it ANOTHER WAY
Don't PROCRASTINATE in your thinking=
THINK about what a GREAT GOD
You have=a God that LOVES YOU


And in my OWN LIFE
A FAMILY and friends who love me
As well as churches
Who SUPPORT ME


THINK about it TODAY
Think about what a GREAT LIFE
You have=don't put off these
POSITIVE THOUGHTS until tomorrow


“BLESSED be the God
Of Shadrach-Meshach-and Abednego
Who sent his ANGELS
To DELIVER the servants
That TRUSTED him” Daniel 3:95


YES-God delivered
His servants of yesterday
And he will DELIVER US-his servants
Of today- too


“For he will
DELIVER the needy
Who cry out


The afflicted
Who have no one
To HELP” Psalm 72:12


“MAY your supplication
Come before you


DELIVER me
According to your PROMISE” Psalm 119:170


Don't put it off
Until tomorrow
Think abut it today


The Lord is WORKING
On your behalf
Your HELP is coming


Coming SOONER-
Rather than later
Maybe as soon as TODAY


So MANY of us
Are first-class procrastinators
Especially where our
Own mortality is concerned


The TRUTH IS:
We are ONLY guaranteed two moments
In life-this moment-
And the moment
GOD calls us home


As CHRISTIANS-we have NO excuse
For being procrastinators-
For the gospels tell us-
We could die at ANY moment
And we NEVER KNOW
When the Lord-may come AGAIN


We are to be
READY for the Lord
As CHRISTIANS-we are to LIVE with hope


TRUST in the Lord
Be ready
For the COMING of the Lord


“TRUST in the Lord
With ALL your heart


And lean not
ON your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5


“NOW it is required
That those
Who have been GIVEN a TRUST
Must prove faithful” 1 Corinthians 4:2


Shadrach-Meschach-and Abednego
Had to THINK about it TODAY


They were thrown
Into the FIRE-literally
They were facing
CERTAIN DEATH


Like I was some 40 years ago
THINK about God TODAY
Think about your LIFE today


God DELIVERED these 3 servants=
And he delivered me=a long time ago=
And my LIFE is going well


Dear Lord-HELP US to NOT put off
The thought of you


And think about becoming a WILLING SERVANT
Of yours-TODAY-
TOMORROW-and ALL the tomorrows
Of our life

THE UNCEASING LOVE OF
OUR GOOD SHEPHERD


Every day-WHEN I do my prayers-
ONE of the prayers that I read
IS the 23^rd PSALM


Few-probably NONE of us-
ESCAPE the dark valleys of life-but some
Os us ENCOUNTER these valleys
Often-every day


But we SURVIVE-God-our Lord Jesus-
And psalm 23 ARE MESSENGERS OF HOPE


“Even though-
I walk in the dark valleys-


I fear NO evil” Psalm 23:4


Our VALLEY-our evil in life-
Come in ALL kinds of ways:
Tragedy-persistent anxiety-discouragement-
Sorrow-depression-all kinds of LOSS-
And even physical disability and illness


ANYTHING-
That takes away our joy &
STIFLES our hope


But we BATTLE back
Nothing stifles us for long-
If we are in God and Jesus
And in the SPIRIT


THE UNCEASING LOVE
Of the GOOD SHEPHERD


“The Lord is MY SHEPHERD
I lack nothing” Psalm 23:1


“He TENDS his flock
Like a shepherd
He GATHERS the lambs
In his arms


And carries them
CLOSE to his heart
He gently leads them
That have young” Isaiah 40:11


“I AM the good shepherd
The good shepherd
LAYS down his life
For the sheep” John 10:11


THE UNCEASING LOVE
Of the GOOD SHEPHERD


Psalm 23 was written thousands
Of years ago-BY DAVID


It was written to ASSURE
EACH and every person
That God-the GOOD SHEPHERD-
IS with us
In the dark-valley times too


ESPECIALLY in the dark times
Especially when life-when EVIL-
And events are TRYING to BRING US DOWN


The Good SHEPHERD CARES for us
The good shepherd ALWAYS loves us
He is PRESENCE=his presence
SURROUNDS our being


“You make KNOWN to me
The path of life
You FILL me


With JOY in your presence
With eternal pleasures
At your right hand” Psalm 16:11


“You PREPARE
A table before me
In the PRESENCE
Of my enemies


You anoint my head
With oil
MY CUP OVERFLOWS” Psalm 23:5


God-THE GOOD SHEPHERD
Will give us
What we NEED
To make it
THROUGH the dark times


He will give us GOODNESS
And KINDNESS
ALL the days of our LIFE


Psalm 23-a SONG OF HOPE

We live in a dangerous world-a world with terrorist threats that seem to be becoming MORE DANGEROUS every day-a world with crime on our streets-in every city in America-and it has never been more dangerous-sometimes-it seems we are NOT even safe living in our own homes


Yet the message of EASTER still resounds in us/and in me/choose GOD-choose life-we NEVER have to be ashamed of God or Christ


WHERE we are in life-is the SUM OF ALL the choices that we have made-and I am PROUD of the choices that I have made/and I am happy to be a GOD and CHRIST follower-doing my best to LIVE what Jesus has taught us=love-forgive-and BE KIND


LIVE in the SPIRIT of God-
Walk in the spirit of Christ


DON'T live in the gray area-but LIVE BOLDLY in the spirit of love


IT IS a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE For us










LIVING IN GOD


Do you ever feel
Like that
You have died
To this world


That you are no longer
Carrying yourself
BUT that it is God and Christ
Who are carrying you


I often have
SINCE my deathbed experience
At age 22


“I have been
CRUCIFIED with Christ


And I no longer live
But Christ LIVES in me


The life I live
In the body
I LIVE BY FAITH
In the SON OF GOD


Who loves me
And gave himself for me” Galatians 2:20


I COMPLETELY
Identify with Saint Paul


Left to my own devices
And my own strength
I don't feel like
I could take another step


IT IS GOD
It is Christ
Who are
Completely carrying me


Saint Paul
Is the EPITOME
Of what it means
To be a CHRISTIAN


He is REAL
He is HONEST
He has a firm sense
Of his own gifts


SOMETIMES he is boastful
And yet he is
Also HUMBLE
AND AWARE of his own weaknesses


“I DO NOT UNDERSTAND
What I do


For what
I want to do
I do not do


BUT what I hate
I do” Romans 7:15


MAYBE we are
A lot more like Paul
Than we care
To admit


OUR INTENTIONS
Are good
WE WANT to do good
For others
But for whatever reason
Sometimes we are UNABLE
To carry it out


But Paul CHOSE GOD
Over sin
Are we able
To do the same


For if we can do that
We are truly LIVING IN GOD
As Paul was


And in Philippians
Paul writes:


“I am caught
BETWEEN the two


I long to DEPART
This life


And be with Christ
For that
Is far better


Yet I am REMAINING
In the flesh
It is more necessary
For your BENEFIT” Philippians 1:23-24


I empathize with Paul
In this area too


I WISH
I could leave this world
And LIVE FOREVER in Christ


But God wants me
IN this world
For whatever reason
And I will
GIVE my testimony of God-
MY TESTIMONY OF GOD'S LOVE for them-
To whoever WILL LISTEN


Dear Lord
I am LIVING on
Your coattails


You are
THE LOVE of my life
And I am


LIVING IN GOD

STRONGER THAN EVER

STRONGER THAN EVER


LENT is a time-
For getting STRONGER-as we WAIT
For our COMING KING


We pray more
We fast more
And we get stronger in our CHARITY
And in our CARING for others


Lent is HERE
We are STRONGER than ever
And we WAIT for our Lord


“.........
The ONE who raised Christ
From the dead
Will give LIFE
To your mortal bodies
Through the SPIRIT
Dwelling in you” Romans 8:1


Christ is coming
He will CONQUER death
And he will leave
His SPIRIT with us


And he will be
STRONGER than ever
In us


“Who is this KING
Of glory?


The Lord-strong and mighty
The Lord-mighty in battle” Psalm 24:8


“For the foolishness of God
Is wiser
Than human wisdom


And the weakness of God
Is STRONGER
Than human strength” 1 Corinthians 1:25


Of course our SPIRITUAL TOOLS
Of fasting-praying-and charity-
Are with us-
ALL year long


But during LENT
We USE them
On a daily basis


We become more FOCUSED
We become stronger


Our spirit comes
CLOSER to God
We just have to WAIT
For the COMING of Christ-
The coming of the LORD


WAITING for the Lord-
Waiting for his strength
Waiting for his SPIRIT


“CREATE in me
A PURE HEART-O GOD


And RENEW a steadfast spirit
Within me” Psalm 51:10


“At that time
You will be GIVEN what to say


For it will NOT be
You speaking


But the Spirit
Of the Father
SPEAKING though you” Matthew 10:20


Christ will LEAVE with us
The FRUITS & qualities of the SPIRIT


“But the fruit of the SPIRIT
Is love-joy-peace-forbearance-
Kindness-goodness-FAITHFULNESS-
Gentleness-and self-control” Galatians 5:22-23


We will COMBINE these
With our ACTS of prayer-
Acts of fasting-and self-denial
And our CHARITY


And we will be
STRONGER THAN EVER
In the LORD OUR GOD

ALL PEOPLE BELONG TO GOD

ALL PEOPLE BELONG TO GOD


Today's gospel EMPHASIZES that
Jesus comes from Galilee
And the people are TAKEN BACK


The people question whether the MESSIAH
Can come from Galilee
They say he has-
HAS TO come from Bethlehem
That he MUST be from the the town
WHERE David lived


“The Messiah will NOT come from Galilee-
will he?” John 7:41


The TRUTH is the Messiah
Can come from ANYWHERE-


Who knows-maybe in the SECOND COMING-
Jesus might be coming from
New York-Dallas-San Francisco-or-
Maybe even Miami, Florida


ALL PEOPLE belong to God


“The noble-of the nations
Assemble-as the people
Of the God of Abraham


For the kings
Of the earth
BELONG to God


He is greatly exalted” Psalm 47:9


So do the POOR
So does EVERY color-every race-
Every religion


That is WHY
It is a sin
To DISCRIMINATE against anyone
We ALL-
BELONG TO GOD


“And you also
Are among those GENTILES-


Who are CALLED
To BELONG to Jesus Christ” Romans 1:6


THERE-right there
IS the truth


We never know
Who another person is


There but for the
GRACE OF GOD-go I


That person right there could be Jesus
-Man or woman-
No matter WHERE they are from


They could be the MESSIAH
From-Galilee
The Messiah-from OPA LOCKA
Or a SAINT
From the church AROUND the corner


And UNTIL we get to the point
That we treat all with DIGNITY
We haven't mastered this
LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR thing


We ALL-
BELONG to God-no matter
WHERE WE ARE FROM-


We all DESERVE
To be treated with DIGNITY
No matter-
Our station in life


“She is clothed
With strength and dignity


She can laugh
At the days to come” Proverbs 31:25


“Show proper RESPECT
To everyone


LOVE the family of believers
Fear God-
Honor the emperor” 1 Peter 2:17


MY DEAR FRIENDS


EVERY single one of us
BELONG TO GOD-
No matter-
Who we are
Or WHERE we come from


Treat them with RESPECT-like-
They are Jesus-OUR KING
