SIN MAKES US AFRAID


Of course=we all KNOW=sin
Was BROUGHT into the world
When Adam and Eve ate fruit
Off of the FORBIDDEN TREE


It made them afraid
And want to HIDE


And when we SIN or do wrong
In this world=it makes us AFRAID
And want to hide too


“After the man-Adam-had eaten
Of the tree
The LORD God


CALLED to the man
And asked him
'WHERE are you?'


He answered-
'I HEARD you in the garden-
But I was AFRAID-
Because I was naked
So I hid myself'” Genesis 3:9-10


Sin is NOTHING less than
MISSING THE MARK-
With our lives


And WHEN-we miss the mark-
We hide because we are AFRAID
That we do not measure up=and
We SOMETIMES hide like Adam did


“The Lord is my light---
And my SALVATION---
Whom shall I fear?


The Lord is the STRONGHOLD
Of my life---of whom
Shall I be AFRAID?” Psalm 27:1


“He replied---'You of little FAITH-
WHY are you afraid?'


Then he got up and rebuked
The winds and the waves
And it was COMPLETELY CALM” Matthew 8:26


And WHY should we be afraid?
For all the WRONG Adam and Eve
Did=The Lord Jesus=made it RIGHT=
He GAVE his entire life=to FORGIVE
And make things right
For us


Sometimes when we do WRONG=
We hide and we SHY
AWAY from God


But God KNOWS the truth about
What we have a HARD TIME acknowledging


Today is the FEAST of the
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION=and she STANDS
Up for us too


Through GRACE=and her=and HER SON=we too
CAN BE FORGIVEN


LEAN on the BLESSED MOTHER today
And ask her=to SHARE
Her grace with you


“You are
The most EXCELLENT of men
And your lips


Have been anointed
With GRACE


Since God
Has BLESSED YOU FOREVER” Psalm 45:2


“The WORD became flesh
And made his dwelling
Among us


We have seen his GLORY
The glory of
The ONE & ONLY SON


Who came from the Father
FULL of GRACE=and truth” John 1:14


We NO LONGER need to be AFRAID=
The SON=MAKES us clean=and the
BLESSED MOTHER adds her GRACE

BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY=ALWAYS KEEP YOUR WORD

BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY=
ALWAYS KEEP YOUR WORD


WORDS come easily in this life=
But do we mean what we say?=and
Do we BELIEVE
What we say?


I PROMISED God=on my deathbed=
41 years ago=to LIVE for others=
And I meant it


But it hasn't ALWAYS come easy
To me=it isn't easy to subvert
Your own will=for the will of
OTHERS=but God has HELPED ME
And my life has BECOME
Very MEANINGFUL for me


“NOT everyone who says to me=
'Lord-Lord'=will enter
The KINGDOM of Heaven” Matthew 7:21


I have met MANY in this world
Who TALK a good game=but they
DON'T always mean what they say=
Much less do what they say


God always KEEPS his PROMISES
Always keeps his words=
GOD CANNOT LIE


“How can a young person
STAY on the path of purity?


By LIVING
According to your WORD” Psalm 119:9


“EVERY WORD of God
Is flawless


He is a SHIELD
To those
Who take refuge in him” Proverbs 30:5


“Jesus answered=
'It is written:
Man shall NOT LIVE
On bread alone


But on EVERY WORD
That comes from
The mouth of God'” Matthew 4:4


I think CONSTANTLY about God
Every day=that is WHY I
Write so much=and I do
TRY to live by GOD'S WORDS=by the
First two commandments of LOVE


I write words of love through
GOD'S PRINCIPLES of compassion=
Integrity=FORGIVENES=and justice


But if I am NOT LIVING
With these same principles in
MY LIFE=I am a phony


And anyone PROFESSING themselves
To be GOD FOLLOWERS=should be
LIVING by these same principles too


The WORDS of God=and the
GUIDANCE of the HOLY SPIRIT=
And then LOVE of family=friends=and
ALL others DIRECT my life


If it doesn't come
THROUGH in my ACTIONS=
Then I am NOT BELIEVING
What I say=and living with
The PRINCIPLES that I write


So PLEASE in the name of
OUR LORD=always KEEP your word
To the BEST of your ability


“Heaven and earth will pass away
But my WORDS will not
Pass away” Luke 21:33


Eternal words=eternal life=
BELIEVE what you say and write

With our SMALL EFFORTS


Jesus takes seven loaves of bread
And a few fish=and FEEDS four thousand men
PLUS women and children


It makes me WONDER what MIRACLES
Jesus can perform with
Our small efforts
In today's world


“Jesus said to them,
'How MANY loaves do you have?'
'Seven'=they replied,
'And a few fish'” Matthew 15:34


What SMALL THINGS do you
Have to offer Jesus today?


Just IMAGINE with GOD'S GREATNESS=
What miracles Jesus can PERFORM
With them


THE GREATNESS OF GOD!


“GREAT is the Lord
And most WORTHY of praise


HIS GREATNESS=
No one can fathom” Psalm 145:3


“But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit
HEALED the boy
And gave him back
To his FATHER


And they were all AMAZED
At the GREATNESS OF GOD” Luke 9:42-43


What small gifts do you have
TO OFFER Jesus?


A KIND HEART=A willing spirit=
Jesus ASKS us to give them to him
And with that he CAN=and does
WORK MIRACLES


“I will REMEMBER
The deeds of the Lord;


YES=I will remember
YOUR MIRACLES=OF LONG AGO” Psalm 77:11


“You are the GOD
Who performs MIRACLES


You display your power
Among the peoples” Psalm 77:14


“I PERSEVERED in demonstrating
Among you
The marks of a true apostle


Including signs-wonders-and MIRACLES” 2 Corinthians 12:12


Yes-Jesus WORKED miracles
Through his apostles
We ARE his modern-day apostles


LET us offer what we have=
Our donations=our food=even our 2
SMALL COINS like the poor widow


Let us let Jesus take our SMALL EFFORTS=
Add his GREATNESS=
And PERFORM modern day miracles


IT JUST TAKES FAITH!

THE LORD BRINGS NEW LIFE!


There are all sorts of EXAMPLES
In the bible=where the Lord=
BRINGS NEW LIFE


Not to mention Jesus' own RESURRECTION=
And the Lord brought NEW life
To me=when I was next to dead=
Some 41 years ago


One such EXAMPLE is read
In Isaiah where what was THOUGHT
To be a dead stump=we FIND
Life is STIRRING


We find that the seemingly
LIFELESS root of JESSE is sporting
A BLOSSOMING BUD


Thanks to the Lord's life-giving SPIRIT-
A branch will SPRING OUT of
What appears to be a
Dried-up waste


“A shoot shall SPROUT
From the stump of Jesse


And from his roots
A bud shall BLOSSOM” Isaiah 11:1


The LORD BRINGS NEW LIFE!


Someone is COMING in a few weeks
That knows JUSTICE by heart
That brings NEWNESS to our lives


YES one will be BORN
In a few weeks
That will be ROBED
In integrity and FAITHFULNESS


And he will bring NEW HOPE=
NEW LIFE=a new spirit
To us all


“He put a NEW SONG
In my mouth
A hymn of praise
To our God


MANY will see and fear
The Lord
And put their TRUST in him” Psalm 40:3


“A NEW command
I give to you:
LOVE one another


As I have loved you-
So you MUST LOVE
One another” John 13:34


And how he LOVED US=he did
ALL the way through his life=
UNTIL his last breadth


He will come and RESTORE
The world to PEACE
WHEN he comes again


FEAR of what is different
Will fade away
Even=enemies=will SHARE
The same table


It sounds like a “FAIRY TALE”
But I BELIEVE it can
And WILL HAPPEN


PREPARE yourself for the new=
He is COMING=our LORD=
This CHRISTMAS


Let us PREPARE for the NEW!


“You PREPARE a table
Before me
In the presence
Of my enemies


You anoint my head
With oil
MY CUP OVERFLOWS” Psalm 23:5


Is there something dead or
DRIED UP in your life?


Think again=PREPARE for the LORD
This Christmas


SOMETHING NEW is COMING=REJOICE in

FINDING THE FAITH!

FINDING THE FAITH!


TODAY-we read about-
The FAITH of the CENTURION=
A man of gigantic faith


Do you? Do I?=have that
SORT of faith


A centurion comes to Jesus
And asks Jesus to come and
HEAL HIS SERVANT


Jesus wants to come and
HEAL HIM


But the centurion REPLIES:
“Lord-I am NOT WORTHY
To have you
ENTER under my roof;


ONLY say the word
And my servant
WILL BE HEALED” Matthew 8:8


Jesus becomes amazed and says=
“Truly-I tell you=I have NOT FOUND
Anyone in Israel
With such great faith” Matthew 8:10


You and I need to FIND
That FAITH=will Jesus find
The faith of the centurion
In you and me=as WE SEARCH
For MIRACLES to our life's problems?


Maybe we need a HEALING
For a relative or friend
With stage IV cancer


Or maybe we or a family member
Are searching for a new job


Or maybe=just maybe=we are
TRING to HEAL from a
Past relationship=and FIND LOVE again


WHERE is our miracle?
Where is our FAITH?


“If you do not stand FIRM
In your faith
You will
NOT STAND at all” Isaiah 7:9


“He replied:
'Because you have so little faith=
Truly I tell you


IF you have faith
As small as a mustard seed
You can say to this mountain


'MOVE from here to there'
And it will move


NOTHING is IMPOSSIBLE with God” Matthew 17:20-21


FINDING THE FAITH!


It is important to REALIZE
That Jesus is ALWAYS with us
In this world


Maybe that suffering loved one=
Ends in a PEACEFUL DEATH


Maybe we find
That new career


And maybe=just maybe=that
Heartbreaking ending=
PREPARES us for a new relationship


MIRACLES come in
Different shapes and sizes


“You are the God
Who PERFORMS MIRACLES


You display your power
Among the peoples” Psalm 77:14


Dear Lord=as we repeat the
CENTURION'S PRAYER TODAY


Help us to BELIEVE=even
When we cannot see


FINDING THAT FAITH!

We need to RELY on the-
THE POWER OF GOD'S PRESENCE
To keep us settled and to keep us
At PEACE


This season has a way of
KNOCKING us off center


“GOD IS FAITHFUL...........” 1 Corinthians 1:9


Yes we have schedules=we have
Commitments=it is easy
To let deadlines get us out
Of whack


Let us entrust EVERY single thing
To God's PRESENCE=to RELY on
The power of God's presence=to keep us
In balance=and to keep our PRIORITIES
STRAIGHT


GOD AND FAMILY are number one


“Now this I KNOW:
The Lord gives VICTORY
To his anointed


He ANSWERS
From his heavenly sanctuary


With the victorious POWER
Of his right hand” Psalm 20:6


“But God made the earth
By his POWER;


He founded the world
In his wisdom
And stretched


Out the heavens
By his understanding” Jeremiah 10:12


“But you will receive POWER
When the HOLY SPIRIT-
Comes on you


And you will be my WITNESSES
In Jerusalem
And in all
Judea and Samaria


And to the ends
Of the earth” ACTS 1:8


YES=the POWER of
GOD'S PRESENCE
Makes all the difference
In this world


Makes all the difference
In our lives


God's presence gives us PEACE
Even in this hectic
Time of the year


We WILL try to go slower
But sometimes it
Will be difficult
To do so


When your pace speeds up
Give yourself to GOD'S CARE
And REST in his presence


“SURELY you
Have granted him UNENDING BLESSINGS
And made him glad


With the JOY
Of your presence” Psalm 21:6


Dear Lord=help us REST
In the POWER of your PRESENCE
Particularly this ADVENT SEASON

TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEART!


We LIVE in a rough-cruel world-
FEW would argue about that=but
Jesus gives us a TOUGH command too=
He tells us to=TAKE CARE OF
OUR HEARTS=he tells us that
The demands and anxieties of LIFE
Are many=and it is EASY to
LOSE your heart to something=
INSTEAD of him and HIS FATHER


“BEWARE your hearts
Do NOT become drowsy


From carousing and drunkenness
And the ANXIETIES of
Daily life” Luke 21:34


SOME DAYS I wake up early=I
Just feel the NEED to PRAY


I live by a lake=and WHEN I
SEE the lake and the crisp golden sun=
It STARTS my heart and my day off
In a GOOD way


And you know what=
The sun doesn't need my help
To COME UP=it AROSE
All by itself=with GOD


It made me REALIZE=for SURE=
That I am NOT the center
Of the universe=
And neither are you=ONLY GOD


God is the CENTER=and we NEED
To take CARE of our hearts=we NEED
To keep our hearts=CENTEREDON GOD


OUR God must be FIRST in our hearts=
Over EVERYHTING ELSE in this world


“This is
What the Lord says--------


Israel's KING and Redeemer=The LORD ALMIGHTY
I am the FIRST-and -
I am the LAST


Apart from me-
There is NO GOD” Isaiah 44:6


“But seek FIRST his KINGDOM
And his righteousness
And ALL these things


Will be given to you
As well” Matthew 6:33


It is easy to take on
A lot of RESPONSIBILITIES
In this world


But you/we/I am NOT
The center of the UNIVERSE
The SUN will
Still come up


DON'T put God's RESPONSIBILITIES
On your tiny shoulders
LIGHTEN your heart


And THINK for a moment
About how GREAT GOD'S LOVE
Is for you


God's CARE for you
Is great too


Dear Lord=we are TAKING CARE
Of our HEARTS today-
And letting our responsibilities
RIDE on your shoulders


For you CARE for us


“What is mankind
That you are mindful
Of them?


HUMAN BEINGS
That you CARE for them?” Psalm 8:4
