RENEWING YOUR LOVE WITH GOD THIS CHRISTMAS
RENEWING YOUR LOVE WITH GOD=
THIS CHRISTMAS
Life happens=Things happen
In our lives=and we move AWAY
From God
This Advent=This CHRISTMAS
We PRAY=that it becomes
A time for RENEWAL
A time for RENEWING
Our love with God
“He will rejoice
Over you with gladness
And RENEW YOU
In his love
He will sing joyfully
Because of you
As one sings
At festivals” Zephaniah 3:17-18
Doesn't the prophet Zephaniah
Hit the nail RIGHT
On the head
With this wondrous piece
OF AFFIRMATION?
He tells us=that
This Christmas=
GOD IS RENEWING
His love with us
That this Advent=should be
A time of HOPE
For us=a time of renewal
OF LOVE
God is=
Christ is=RESTORING us to
Him=this Christmas=
God is being
RESTORED IN YOU
“Create in me
A pure heart=O God
And RENEW a steadfast spirit
Within me” Psalm 51:10
“But those
Who HOPE in the Lord
Will RENEW their strength” Isaiah 40:31
“Therefore we do NOT
Lose heart
Though outwardly
We are wasting away=
Yet inwardly
We are being RENEWED
Day be day” 2 Corinthians 4:16
This Christmas=this Advent
God is TOUCHING us
All over again
Like it was the very
First time
He ever touched OUR HEART
Have you fallen AWAY
From God?=Don't worry
His love keeps FOLLOWING YOU
He keeps REACHING OUT to you
To touch you once again=
To RENEW your heart
THIS CHRISTMAS
“........who satisfies your desires
With good things
So that your youth
Is RENEWED
Like the eagle's” Psalm 103:5
“Do not conform
To the pattern
Of this world
But be transformed
By the RENEWING
Of your mind” Romans 12:2
Our God is the
GREAT RESTORER=
He renews all things
In these final days
Of ADVENT=let us get READY
For Christmas
JOIN in the GREAT CELEBRATION=
BE RENEWED!

NOT WHO WE ARE
NOT WHO WE ARE
The men and women of this WORLD
Have been DEFINED by sin=
Since the
Beginning of TIME
But it is
IMPORTANT to remember
That that is NOT
WHO WE ARE
We are BROTHERS AND SISTERS
Of our Lord Jesus Christ=
And CHILDREN of the Father
We are defined BY
GOD'S LOVE FOR US
"REMEMBER that your compassion=
O Lord
And your kindness
Are from of old
........in your KINDNESS
Remember me
Because of your goodness=
O LORD" Psalm 25:6, 7
Extravagant overflowing LOVE
For us=that is what
The FATHER
Has for us=That is
What Jesus has for us
He is a KIND=
LOVING GOD
God's love for us
Is like the love
From from the Father=
For his PRIDIGAL SON
In Luke chapter 15=of Saint Luke's GOSPEL
We are DEFINED NOT by sin
But by God's
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for us=
That love that is EVERLASTING
"Before the mountains
Were born=
Or you brought forth
The whole world
From EVERLASTING to EVERLASTING
You are God" Psalm 90:2
"In a surge
Of anger=
I hid my face from you
For a moment
But with EVERLASTING KINDNESS
I will have compassion
On you
Says the Lord
YOUR REDEEMER" Isaiah 54:8
NOT by sin are
We defined=but by
GOD'S EVERLASTING LOVE
For us
WHEN we return to God-
When we are contrite=
When we WALK in
GOD'S TRUTH
God rejoices for us
And embraces us
WITH A HUG
Our past sins NEVER
Stand in the way=
Of God's all UNCONDITIONAL LOVE
For us
"LOVE is patient-
Love is kind=
It does not envy
It does not boast=
It is not proud

LOVE always protects-
Always trusts-
Always hopes-
Always PERSEVERES
LOVE NEVER FAILS" 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
We are NOT DEFINED
By sin
We are not defined
BY OUR BROKENNESS
We are GOD'S LOVE for us
We are psalm 25
We are the PRODIGAL SONS
AND DAUGHTERS
RETURNING to our Father God
Jesus says=God the FATHER says=
You are NOT SIN
You are DEFINED BY MY LOVE
FOR YOU=Come and FOLLOW ME

COME JESUS COME!
SORRY ABOUT no poems this week=WHEN I got back from Virginia on MONDAY NIGHT=
I had NO television, internet, or home phone UNTIL TONIGHT=
MISSED YOU=LOVE YOU ALL!
COME JESUS COME!
Advent can be
A time of SPIRITUAL RENEWAL
For us
The last five days
BEFORE Christmas can be
Challenging and frantic
For all of us
CONE JESUS COME!=
O dear Lord JESUS-
Please come into our hearts
"Therefore the Lord himself
Will give you
This sign=
The virgin shall CONCEIVE
And bear a son
And shall name him
EMMANUEL" Isaiah 7:14
There are all kinds
Of things for us
To do=in these days
Preceeding Christmas
Gifts to buy-
Parties to attend-
Food to prepare
And FINALIZING our Christmas plans
So much to do=we can get
Mixed up
About what is REALLY IMPORTANT
The coming of Jesus
Into our hearts=
COME JESUS COME!
PREPARE for Jesus
To come and LIVE
In our hearts=AT CHRISTMAS
And all year through
"YOU PREPARE
A table before me
In the presence
Of my enemies
You anoint my head
With oil
My cup overflows" Psalm 23:5
"And if I go
And PREPARE a place
For you
I will come back
And take you
With me
That you also
May BE where I am" John 14:3
Prepare for the COMING
Of Jesus=Each day
Take a few minutes=to prepare ROOM
In your heart=PRAY for him
For the coming of Jesus
INTO OUR HEARTS
RECONCILE your heart
This Advent=for the coming
Of Jesus
COME=O Jesus come!=
Come and LIVE in our hearts
This Christmas
And STAY in our hearts
ALL YEAR LONG
"Let me LIVE
That I may praise you
And may your laws
Sustain me" Psalm 119:175
Try to make ADVENT=
SPECIAL in your life
Special in your heart
This Christmas season
And make the
LAST few days of ADVENT
More than just a race
To the finish line

THE DISPLAY OF FAITH
THE DISPLAY OF FAITH
LIFE is a difficult thing=
But our FAITH can
Make such a difference
IN OUR LIVES
It has in mine and
I FIRMLY BELIEVE
That that is WHY
I am alive today
Why I have LIVED
ALL these years=
My promise=
"To live for my FAMILY=
My friends=
And all people everywhere"
Did you ever notice
How the apostles
Try to SHOO the people
AWAY=who are calling out
To Jesus
TODAY we read about a
POOR WOMAN=trying to
Calling out for help
For her daughter
"She said='please Lord
For even the dogs
Eat the scraps
That fall from
The table
Of their masters'" Matthew 15:27
This lady is DESPERATE-
She will take anything
Jesus will provide
FINALLY=Jesus is moved
By the woman's FAITH
And says=
"Woman-you have GREAT FAITH-
Your request is granted" Matthew 15:28
And the daughter is HEALED
At that precise moment
Jesus wants us to UNDERSTAND
That the ESSENCE
Of this miracle
Isn't the miracle itself
But the DISPLAY OF FAITH
By the mother
THE DISPLAY OF FAITH!
"If you do not
Stand firm
In your FAITH
You will NOT
Stand at all" Jeremiah 7:9
"He replied=
'Because you have
So little FAITH
Truly I tell you-
If you have FAITH
As small
As a mustard seed
You can say to
This mountain'
'Move from here
To there
And it will move=
NOTHING=will be
IMPOSSIBLE to you'" Matthew 17:20-21
"Therefore=since
We have been justified
Through FAITH
WE have
Peace with God
Through our Lord Jesus Christ
Through whom we have gained
Access by FAITH
Into this grace
In which we now stand" Romans 5:1
My dear friends
Jesus NEVER worked a miracle
Without first
The DISPLAY OF FAITH
It is TRUE in this story
And it is true
In my VERY OWN LIFE
Whatever you are FIGHTING
In your life=keep on fighting
DON'T GIVE UP
And keep on showing
That DISPLAY OF FAITH
BELIEVING in Jesus=and believing
IN OUR SUPREME FATHER!

DISCERNING OUR GOD!
DISCERNING OUR GOD!
We live complicated lives
Where our choices
ARE MANY
HOW do we know which way
Is right?
How do we know which way
IS GOOD?
Which way
Is the RIGHT WAY?
"In those days
Like a fire-
There appeared
The prophet Elijah
Whose words
Were a FLAMING FURNACE" Sirach 48:1
The TRUTH is-we can't
Always be sure=IF
We are going
In the right direction
Sometimes we just
Have to PRAY
About a certain situation
WEIGH the pros and cons
And choose a DIRECTION
And move that way
DISCERNING OUR GOD!
"But who can DISCERN
Their own errors?
Forgive my hidden faults" Psalm 19:12
"You DISCERN
My going out
And my lying down
You are familiar
With all my ways" Psalm 139:3
"And this is my prayer=
That your love
May abound more
And more
In knowledge and depth
Of insight
So that you may be able
TO DISCERN
What is best
And may be pure and blameless
For the day of Christ" Philippians 1:9-10
And then there
Are those times=
When we feel
Like the HOLY SPIRIT
Is speaking
DIRECTLY to us
Our hearts are BURNING
With the prophetic words
The SPIRIT
Lays on our hearts
The SPIRIT OF GOD
Lays his words on our hearts
On EXACTLY
Which way to go
"Commit your WAY
To the LORD=
Trust in him=and
He will do this" Psalm 37:5
"Start your children off
On the WAY
They should go
And even when
They are old
They will not
TURN from it" Proverbs 22:6
PAY ATTENTION
To the word-
Of the Lord=
PRAY about his words
TURN these words
Over in your heart
And he will GUIDE YOU-
In the RIGHT WAY
To go
DISCERNING OUR GOD!=
Discerning the diredtion
Of the Lord
Lord=help us RECOGNIZE
The words you speak to
OUR HEART
In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our EVER DISCERNING FATHER

A DESIRE TO BE WHOLE AGAIN
A DESIRE TO BE WHOLE AGAIN
Many of us have
Been ILL during
Our life
Many of us deal
With a CHRONIC ILLNESS
Of some type or
Chronic limitations
In our life-
We desire to be
WHOLE AGAIN
"Jesus said to him=
'Rise=take up your mat=
And walk'" John 5:8
Today we read about
A man
Lying by the pool
At Bethesda
This man has lived
With a CRIPPLED BODY
For 38 years-
Yet Jesus asks him
"DO you want to be well?" John 5:6
I have been dealing with
A CHRONIC ILLNESS
For 42 years
IF I were this man-
I would scream out=
"YOU BET I DO"
Yes I have a DESIRE
To be WHOLE AGAIN
I have a desire
To be well again
Jesus saw into the man's heart
Jesus SEES into our hearts-
He recognizes our DESIRE
For WHOLENESS
He knows we all
Want to be WELL AGAIN
"For they are life
To those who find them
And health
To one's WHOLE BODY" Proverbs 4:22
"Why should you be
Beaten anymore?
Why do you
Persist in rebellion?
Your WHOLE head
Is injured=
Your WHOLE heart afflicted" Isaiah 1:5
"May God himself
The God of peace
Sanctify you
Through and through
May your WHOLE SPIRIT=
Sole and body
Be kept blameless
At the COMING of
OUR Lord Jesus Christ" 1 Thessalonians 5:23
Jesus HEALED this man's
Crippled body=
Jesus set into motion-
A kind of resurrection
For this man
A journey of HOPE
And HEALING=sometimes I wish
He would do the same
For you and me
For we all have
The desire to be
WHOLE AGAIN
"You Lord=
Hear the DESIRE
Of the afflicted
You encourage them
And you listen
To their cry" Psalm 10:17
"What the wicked dread
Will overtake them
What the righteous DESIRE
Will be granted" Proverbs 10:24
I was GIVEN THE MIRACLE
Of a second chance at life
And though I have NEVER-
Been granted WHOLE HEALTH=
I have been ENCOURAGED
By God and others
And I live in communion
With the FAMILY OF GOD
And the FAMILY of others
Feeling WHOLE ONCE AGAIN=
I hope that you
Feel it too

HAVING THE HEART OF GOD
HAVING THE HEART OF GOD
Our GOD is a loving
And compassionate God=he has
A HEART for evryone
He WANTS all the people
In this world to BELONG
To the KINGDOM OF GOD=
We should want that too
We should have a loving
And COMPASSIONATE HEART=just like
God the Father=and his Son
Jesus Christ
"I-the Lord
Your God
Teach you
What is
For your own GOOD
And lead you
On the way
You should go" Isaiah 48:17
The poet=Emily Dickinson wrote=
"The HEART wants
What it wants"
And this is true
But what we want
For ourselves
Is often
NOT for our own good
We should HAVE A HEART
Like God=we should want
What is BEST for us
How well
Do we KNOW
Our own heart?
How often
Do we want
What is BEST FOR US?
How often do we have
The heart
Of our LOVING & COMPASSIONATE FATHER?
"Take delight in the Lord
And he will give you
The desires
OF YOUR HEART" Psalm 37:4
"Light in a messenger's eyes
Brings joy
TO THE HEART
And good news
Gives health
To the bones" Proverbs 15:30
"For it is with
YOUR HEART
That you believe
And are justified
And it is with
Your mouth
That you profess
Your faith
And are saved" Romans 10:10
Often our urges for ourselves
Are subliminal=
That we kept HIDDEN
Even from ourselves
But if we HAVE
The HEART of our LOVING GOD=
All things become transparent
And become known
Dear Lord=we PRAY
For ourselves today=that
We have a loving heart
That is COMPASSIONATE and LOVING
Just like you=and YOUR SON
We pray that we DON't
Always get ANSWERED PRAYERS=
But we get answers
That are BEST for us
And ALL OF MANKIND
Dear Lord=
Teach us what is GOOD
And what WAY
We should go
"Now that you have
Purified yourselves
By obeying the truth
So that you
Have sincere love
For each other
Love one another
DEEPLY FROM THE HEART" 1 Peter 1:22
Dear Lord=OUR GOD & FATHER
We pray always that
We have
The ONE TRUE HEART OF GOD
