IN THE RIGHT PLACE=AT THE RIGHT TIME

 

IN THE RIGHT PLACE=AT THE RIGHT TIME

The AMERICAN SPIRIT suggests that

The HARDER we work=

The more

We can ACHIEVE

But this is NOT

Always true

Sometimes it comes down

To who we know=

Or quite possibly=

BEING AT the right PACE=

At the RIGHT TIME

“Lord if you wish=

You can make me CLEAN'=

Then Jesus-

Stretched out his hand-

Touched him=and said=

'I DO will it=

Be made clean'” Luke 5:12-13

Today the LEPER=is

AT the right place

At the right time

Though the diagnosis of leprosy

Is terminal=BY CHANCE

He encounters Jesus

And RECOGNIZES HIM

To be the right person=

THE CHRIST

The person of Jesus

Wants GOOD HEALTH

For the leper

We may be TEMPTED

To attribute this healing=

To the leper's audacity=in ASKING

But the EXCHANGE

Between the leper=and Jesus

Makes it clear

It is CHRIST'S CHOICE

And his desire=to make him clean

This leper was

AT THE RIGHT PLACE=

At the RIGHT TIME

How many times has

GOOD FORTUNE fallen down

Upon us=for this same reason

Juts being at the RIGHT PLACE

AT THE RIGHT TIME?

It has happened to me=

Has it happened to you?

“For if you remain silent

AT THIS TIME

Relief and deliverance

For the Jews

Will arise from another place

But you and

Your father's family=will perish” Esther 4:14

“For it is TIME

To seek the Lord

Until he comes

And showers his righteousness

On you” Hosea 10:12

“For this was how

The promise was stated

'At the appointed TIME

I will return=and Sarah

Will have a son'” Romans 9:9

So much in life

Is being at

IN THE RIGHT PLACE

AT THE RIGHT TIME

But=for all intents and purposes=

Our HEALINGS in our life

DEPENDS on the will of God=

And the will OF CHRIST

The right place to BE is at

IN GOD and CHRIST'S HEART

All the days of our lives

In Jesus' name=and in the name of our FOREVER LIVING LOVING FATHER

IN GOD'S IMAGE

We are a people=

BUILT in GOD'S OWN IMAGE=

We have a human God-

A God with skin-

In the name of Jesus Christ

IN GOD'S IMAGE!

“If anyone says='I love God'=

But hates his brother=

He is a liar

For whoever

Does not love a brother

Whom he has seen

Cannot love God

WHOM HE HAS NOT SEEN” 1 John 4:20

With the INCARNATION=

Our God taking on the human condition=

In the form of Jesus Christ

We have exactly that=

A God of skin

A God=

In WHOSE IMAGE we are made in

“Then God said=

'Let us make mankind-

IN OUR IMAGE-

In our likeness........” Genesis 1:26

“For those God foreknew

He also predestined

To be conformed

To the IMAGE

Of his Son

That he might

Be the firstborn

Among many brothers and sisters” Romans 8:29

“A man ought not

To cover his head=

Since he is the IMAGE

And glory of God” 1 Corinthians 11:7

The Incarnation of Jesus Christ

Is truly UNIQUE=and this TOUCHABLE GOD

Is present in all people

For we are ALL MADE

In the image of God=

We are all=IN GOD'S IMAGE

All of us are made

In God's image=this INCLUDES

The difficult people

Those who TEST

Our ability to love

The family member of friend

That we hold a grudge towards

That coworker who annoys us=

And that NEIGHBOR=

Who is always around=

When we are PRESSED FOR TIME

IN GOD'S IMAGE

“The Son is THE IMAGE

Of the invisible God=

The firstborn

Over all creation” Colossians 1:15

“........and have put on

The new self

Which is being renewed

In knowledge=in the IMAGE

Of its Creator” Colossians 3:10

All people are REMINDERS

That we may encounter God

In others=every day

Of our lives

The challenge is in

RECOGNIZING THE IMAGE

Of Jesus

In those most difficult people

Right IN FRONT of our eyes

In the names of Jesus=and God our Father=our ever LOVING GOD

THE DAWN WILL COME

 

THE DAWN WILL COME

Just imagine=

What the apostles FELT

They were out at sea=

In the predawn hours-

With the wind and storms

Whipping up=

Where was Jesus?

Nowhere to be found

To make matters worse=

A ghost

APPEARED to be

Advancing towards them

“But at once-

He spoke with them=

'Take courage-it is I

Do NOT be afraid'” Mark 6:50

But it was Jesus=

He was RIGHT HERE=

He was walking on water

THE DAWN will come=and

Jesus will be there

And the dawn will come

IN OUR LIVES=and we will find out

Jesus was ALWAYS right there

With us=walking right BESIDE US

It is always the darkest

RIGHT before dawn comes=

We will not be alone

THE DAWN WILL COME=

Do not be afraid

“He will make

Your righteous reward

Shine like the DAWN

Your vindication-

Like the noonday sun” Psalm 37:6

“The people walking in darkness

Have seen a great light=

On those living=

In the land of deep darkness

A LIGHT HAS DAWNED” Isaiah 9:2

“The people living in darkness

Have seen a great light

On those=living in the land

Of the shadow OF death-

A light HAS DAWNED” Matthew 4:16

It can be HARD for us too=

Just like it was for the APOSTLES

And like the apostles=

We will see him=when we NEED HIM

The DAWN WILL COME!

We face so much in this world=

When we LOSE a loved one=or

Get a frightening medical diagnosis

When we don't get that

Job promotion=or job raise=

OR LIKE NOW=when there is so many PROBLEMS

Facing this world=because of the pandemic

But we need not be afraid=

THE DAWN WILL COME!

Jesus will come to us

“Even in darkness=LIGHT DAWNS

For the upright

For those who are

Gracious-and compassionate=and righteous” Psalm 112:4

“........as to a light

Shining in a dark place

Until the DAY DAWNS

And the morning star rises

In your hearts” 2 Peter 1:19

When we believe in the LIGHT of God=

THE DAWN will inevitably COME

In Jesus' name=and in the name of our ever living-loving=EVER BRIGHT GLORIOUS FATHER!

THE FUNDAMENTALS OF GOD!

One of the first things that

I LEARNED about God=

Is that GOD IS LOVE!

And that the first two commandments

Of God=is to

Love God=and to

LOVE ALL OTHERS!

The FUNDAMENTALS of God!=

God is love

“........for God is LOVE” 1 John 4:8

God is love=and in

That love=is the FIRST GIFT

Form God=

And it contains all others

God loves you=God loves me=

It is up to us

To ACCEPT THAT LOVE=

And to return that love to God

God's love for us

IS PERSONAL=it is a GIFT

To us and it is

The first gift=he wishes for us=

To ACCEPT from him

The FUNDAMENTALS=the gifts

Of God to us

“For the wages of sin

Is death=

And the GIFT OF GOD

Is eternal life

In Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23

“Thanks be to God

For his INDESCRIBABLE GIFT” 2 Corinthians 9:15

Yes=THANK YOU to God

For his FUNDAMENTAL GIFT

Of love=Yes thanks to God

For the AMAZING GIFT of his love

“Do not neglect

YOUR GIFT=

Which was given you

Through prophecy-

When the body of elders

Laid their hands on you” 1 Timothy 4:14

This Christmas season=and

The NEW YEAR=let us take time

To Reflect

Reflect on the ABUNDANCE

Of all of God's gifts

Including the CENTRAL THEME

Of God's LOVE=for both you and me

THE FUNDAMENTALS of God's LOVE

The fundamentals of God's love

In that God loves us=

Jesus=born in the stable

Born in-

The city of Bethlehem

Christ=born to love us

Born to SAVE US

And through Christ

We have the SPIRIT=

We have the Church=

We have the BIBLE=and

Sacraments=we have it ALL

Because of the GIFT

Of God's love

The gift of love=is that

He LOVES US=Despite it all

Despite all of our sins and imperfections

“Every good and PERFECT GIFT

Is from above=Coming down from the Father

Of the heavenly lights=who does not change

Like shifting shadows” James 1:17

“Each of you=should use WHATEVER GIFT

You have received=to serve others

As fruitful stewards=of God's grace

In its various forms” 1 Peter 4:10

ALL the graces of God=

Are given to us=IN GOD'S LOVE

The FUNDAMENTAL TRUTH=is that

God is love=and HE LOVES US=

The fundamentals of God's love=

JESUS' TEACHING FOR ALL OF TIME

JESUS' TEACHING FOR ALL OF TIME

The apostle John=

Was the LAST SURVIVING

Of all of the APOSTLES=

It is believed

That he LIVED

To be 100 years old=

While most of the other apostles

IF not all=died as MARTYRS=

Except Judas

“You BELONG to God-children.......” 1 John 4:4

As John ADVANCED in years=

Many people=would ask him

To SHARE his insights

And memories of Jesus

Like what was it LIKE

To walk with Jesus=for three years?

What is it about Jesus' miracles-

The meaning of the parables=

And other truths=that really stuck with him?

John would always RESPOND

With five words=

“Little children=LOVE ONE ANOTHER”

And this my friends=this is

The basic concept of Jesus

This my friends=is THE TEACHING
FOR ALL OF TIME

For if we really did this=could we

EVER do another thing

To hurt another human being?

And the bible is LACED

With quotes about=LOVING ONE ANOTHER=

Including John

He learned from his

MASTER teacher very well=

What could we be?

What would we be?

As human beings=IF we learned

To BE as much like Jesus=as John?

“My command is this=

LOVE EACH OTHER as I

Have loved you

Greater love=has no man than this=

To lay down one's life=

For one's friends” John 15:12-13

“........and so that whatever you ask

In my name

The Father will give you

This is my command=

LOVE EACH OTHER” John 15:16-17

This is=JESUS' TEACHING

FOR ALL OF TIME=

If you never learned

Another thing from Jesus

But you have learned this-

You have learned

The ESSENCE OF HUMANITY=

If you but put it into PRACTICE

At all times

“He said to them=

'It is not for you

To know

The TIMES or dates

The Father has set

By his own authority.......'” Acts 1:7

Let us CLOSE OUR EYES

For a minute=and picture John=

With his head on Jesus' shoulder

At the LAST SUPPER

Let us picture John

Who was at Calvary=

Who witnessed the empty tomb=

And took Jesus' Mother-Mary

For his own

And let us picture John=

WHEN he was 100 years old

Telling us to go and=”LOVE ONE ANOTHER”

And then let us

PRACTICE doing it

THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES

For it is

JESUS' TEACHING FOR ALL OF TIME

And it is ours to remember=and to DO

LOOKING FOR THE LORD!

Today we celebrate

The EPIPHANY of the Lord

The word-Epiphany-

Means “appearance” or “manifestation”

What could be BETTER

Than to go LOOKING

For something=and finding it=UNLESS

It is=the FINDING

OF THE LORD?

LOOKING FOR THE LORD=and finding him

Living right INSIDE-

All of our own hearts

“They were overjoyed

At SEEING the star........” Matthew 2:10

The reading today

FOLLOWS the journey

Of the Magi

To encounter

The CHRIST CHILD=

They were to

LOOK for the presence

Of the STAR

As the sign of

WHERE to go

And how to find him

The star

LEADING us to love=the star

Leading us to the Lord

IF it were only that easy

In this world

To have a star

Leading us TO THE LORD

Oh but it is=

We have the bible=

We have the CHURCHES=

We have our prayers

And our hearts

We just have

To pay attention=and OPEN

All of them up

LOOKING FOR THE LORD!=

Looking for the star

In today's world

“Those who LOOK to him

Are radiant=their faces are never

Covered with shame” Psalm 34:5

“Let your eyes

LOOK straight ahead=

Fix your gaze directly before you” Proverbs 4:25

“At the same time=

If anyone says to you

'LOOK here is the Messiah!'=or

'LOOK-there he is!'=

Do not believe it” Mark 13:21

We are STILL LOOKING

For the Lord today=

We are still looking

Like the MAGI=

To find the presence

Of the Lord

We experience a DEEPER KNOWING

That there is

A greater presence=

A more meaningful connection

In life

We know that there is

SOMETHING MORE

And that something more=

Is to be on a JOURNEY

To find God=

Just like the Magi were

“Again it will be like

A man=going on a JOURNEY

Who called his servants

And entrusted wealth to them” Matthew 25:14

So FOLLOW the light=

Follow the star

That leads you to

The FULL LOVE OF GOD

Follow=the STAR OF LOVE=just

LOOKING FOR THE LORD!

INCREASING TRUST AND LOVE

Mary remembered and PONDERED

Everything in her life=the SAME

That most of us do=

The good and the bad

But what EXACTLY

Did Mary ponder

She REFLECTED on everything=

Gabriel's announcement=Jesus' conception=

Her visit to Elizabeth

Joseph's initial anguish and

His INCREASING TRUST AND LOVE

She pondered on=

The ARDUOUS TRIP to Bethlehem=

The birth in the stable-

The visit of some shepherds

NOT just the good things=

But the painful and mysterious things

OF GOD

For Mary knew=nothing was BEYOND

The SCOPE of God's love

In her life

And we SHOULD KNOW=nothing

Is beyond=the scope of God's love

IN OUR LIVES

“Mary kept all these things-

REFLECTING ON THEM

In her heart” Luke 2:19

In this NEW YEAR=let us

RENEW ourselves=let us remember

And ponder the things

That comprise=our daily lives

Whether they are pretty=painful

GOOD=or steeped in

The MYSTERY OF GOD

Let us renew ourselves

In the KINGDOM OF GOD=

Let us know that=EVERY DETAIL

Of our lives=matter to God

“Create in me=a pure heart=O GOD

And RENEW=a steadfast spirit

Within me” Psalm 51:10

“But those who hope

In the Lord=

Will RENEW their strength

They will soar

On wings like eagles=

They will run-

And not grow weary

They will walk

And not be faint” Isaiah 40:31

May we ALL RENEW

Our faith and TRUST in God

Just like Mary did

KNOWING that nothing

Can happen to us=

That is BEYOND the reach

Of God's SAVING LOVE

INCREASING OUR TRUST AND LOVE

For God=just like Mary did-

Pondering and remembering

God's love for us=in the

Dark days of our lives

TRUSTING GOD!

“TRUST in the Lord

And do good=dwell in the land

And enjoy safe pasture” Psalm 37:3

“Now it is required

That those

Who have been given

A TRUST=must prove faithful” 1 Corinthians 4:2

Dear wise and GRACIOUS GOD=

Teach us like Mary

To remember and PONDER

All the things

In our DAILY LIFE

Both good and bad

We TRUST this to you=

Just like our dear Mary did
