“Saint of Miracles”

 

 

St. Anthony is known as the Saint of Miracles.  He is also known

As the Restorer of Lost Things  ( both material and spiritual  ).

 

Saint Anthony died June 13^th,  1231.  He was buried on June 17^th.

Legend has it that on that day June 17^th, during his funeral procession,

Miracles began to occur. 

 

The blind saw, the deaf heard, the dumb spoke, and the lame walked

Again.  It was and still is the general belief that miracles can occur on

This day, if asked with a sincere heart through St. Anthony.

 

Whatever miracle you seek, or that you need, if it is in your best interest,

I join you in prayer today for that miracle, through God’s Saint of

Miracles, St. Anthony of Padua.

I ran this today, Decmber 7^th, because today is the day before the feast

Of the Immaculate Conception.   And Saint Anthony had a tremendous love

for Our Lady.

The Immaculate Conception    

 

 

Today is the feast of The Immaculate Conception---the day we officially

Honor Mary for giving birth to Jesus.  For saying yes to God when

All others would have said no

 

As far as I know, there are no other virgin births.  But I would

Like to pay tribute to all those women who have spent their life

Devoted to their family, devoted to their man, and devoted to

Their children.

 

And to all those women who have tried.

SAINT ANDREW

 

 

 

 

SAINT ANDREW

 

 

Before Jesus

There was John

Andrew was a disciple of John

 

One day

Jesus was walking

Beside the Sea of Galilee

He saw two brothers

Who were fishermen

And he said to them,

 

“Come follow me

And I will make you fishers of men”

 

They immediately

Laid down their polls

And decided

To follow this mysterious man

 

Later on

Andrew was the one

Who found the little boy

With the two fish

And the five barley loaves

 

And immediately

A miracle was done

 

After Jesus’ Resurrection

We don’t know where

But we know

He preached God’s word

Wherever he could

 

Today

There are many churches

Named in his honor

And he is

The patron Saint of Scotland and Russia

 

Tradition states

If you say a certain prayer

Between today and Christmas                                      ( 15 times )

A miracle may be possible

 

Today, November 30^th, is his feast day

It has happened=ONLY ONCE

In the history=of the world=and that once

Was THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION=that

Brought to us-THE SAVIOR OF MANKIND

Jesus Christ

 

THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION=THE PRELUDE TO

(The Light of the WORLD)

 

“……..and the VIRGIN’S name

Was Mary”                                                                                                                                   Luke 1:27

 

Do you KNOW the story of

Johne Ferretti?=More famously known

As Pope Pius IX

 

John suffered from epilepsy=as a young man=

But he was religious=intelligent and handsome

HE PRAYED TO MARY=for a cure

And he was HEALED=and he told everyone

About Mary’s INTERCESSION

 

Years LATER=when he was POPE

When he was 62 years old=he put out an encyclical

TO HONOR MARY=as the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

 

The virgin birth=MARY

THE PRELUDE TO=THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

 

“Therefore the Lord himself=will

Give you a sign=THE VIRGIN will conceive

 

And give birth to a son=and

Will call him=IMMANUEL”                                                                                                      Isaiah 7:14

 

“The VIRGIN will conceive=and

Give birth to a son=and they

Will call him Immanuel=which means

‘GOD WITH US’”                                                                                                                     Matthew 1:23

 

“I am jealous for you=with a

Godly jealousy=I promised you to

One husband=Christ=so that I might

Present you=as a PURE VIRGIN=to him”                                                                          2 Corinthians 11:2

 

I do believe in=THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION

With my whole heart=my whole mind

And ALL my strength

 

I do BELIEVE Mary=was

The PURE MOTHER=of Jesus Christ

The PRELUDE TO=the=LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Forever and ever

The Immaculate Conception was proclaimed

The SOUL of Mary OVERFLOWS

With grace and light=THE PRELUDE TO

(The Great LIGHT of the world)

“May the God of hope=fill you

With all joy and peace=as you trust in him

 

So that=YOU MAY OVERFLOW=with hope

By the power=Of the Holy Spirit”                                                                                               Romans 15:13

And=the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD

We honor Mary as

SAINT NICHOLAS-A SAINT FOR ALL SEASONS

 

 

The historical facts

And the legends of Saint Nicholas

Are-in fact-intertwined

 

What we know for sure

Is that

He was Bishop of Myra

And may or may not

Have been instrumental

In the council of Nicea in 325

 

He became widely known

In the East-and that was increased

By an account of a fictitious biographer

 

And his legend

Began to spread to the West

In the 10^th century

 

Many have claimed him

As their patron Saint

Including children-sailors-unmarried girls-

Merchants-pawnbrokers-and perfumiers

 

It is believed

He saved three girls from prostitution

By throwing 3 bags of money

Through their windows

To provide dowries

So they could get married

 

It is believed

That this is the basis

Of three gold bars

As the pawnbrokers sign

 

It is believed

He raised three boys

After they were murdered by a butcher

And that he saved three men

Unjustly condemned to death

As well as

Three sailors lost at sea

Off the coast of Turkey

 

Many churches

Are named after him

And he is believed to be

The most painted Saint

Other than the Blessed Mother

 

The most popular result

Of his cult

Is the belief that Saint Nicholas

Is responsible for the origins of Santa Claus

 

This is based on

Nicholas’ love of children

And his giving them gifts

 

Nicholas remains

A very popular name

As well as its many variations including:

Colin-Nicola-Nicolette-and many others

 

So this December 6h

On his feast day

Let us all remember

That giving is NOT just for Christmas

 

But ALL YEAR round

And Nicholas is not just a Christmas Saint

BUT A SAINT FOR ALL SEASONS

REMAINING ROCK SOLID IN OUR FAITH!

 

REMAINING ROCK SOLID!=

(In our Faith)

 

AS WE AGE=things

Get tougher and tougher=the CHALLENGES

Get tougher and tougher

 

And it is=UP TO US

To STAY even closer to God=to stay

ROCK SOLID=in our faith=and in prayer

To get through=from day to day

REMAINING ROCK SOLID!=in our faith

 

“……..the winds blew=and buffeted the HOUSE

But it did not collapse=it had been set

SOLIDLY ON ROCK”                                                                                                               Mattthew 7:25

 

Our houses=OUR HOMES=won’t collapse

IF they are built solidly=and

We won’t collapse either=WHEN

The challenges to our faith comes

 

Not if our FAITH IS SOLID

Not if=we are BUILT on

The gifts of the Holy Spirit=like

Counsel and wisdom=and

ALL of the other gifts

 

We must GROUND OURSELVES=every day

By PRAYING=to the Holy Father God

And to His Son=Jesus Christ

REMAINING ROCK SOLID!=in our Faith

 

“Nevertheless=God’s SOLID FOUNDATION

Stands firm=sealed with this inscription=

 

‘The Lord knows those=who are his’=and

‘Everyone who confesses=the name=of the Lord

Must turn away from wickedness’”                                                                                          2 Timothy 2:19

 

What we need to be=is to

BE living=the FRUITS of God=living off

The fruits of his SPIRIT=that keeps us

ROCK SOLID in Christ and in his=HOLY FATHER GOD

 

“Create in me=a pure heart=O God=

And renew a STEADFAST SPIRIT=within me”                                                                            Psalm 51:10

 

“I live=in a high

And holy place=but also

With the one=who is contrite=and

LOWLY IN SPIRIT

 

To receive=the SPIRIT=of the lowly=and

To revive the heart=of the contrite”                                                                                   Isaiah 57:15

 

“But the fruit=of the SPIRIT=is love

Joy=peace=forbearance=kindness=goodness

Faithfulness=gentleness=and self-control=

Against such things=there is no law”                                                                                     Galatians 5:22-23

 

IF we are living in=and with

THE FRUITS of the spirit=we are ROCK SOLID

In our faith=and we are indeed BUILT

ON a solid foundation=and able to withstand

Almost anything

 

“See=I lay a stone=in Zion

A tested stone=a precious stone for

A SURE FOUNDATION

 

The one=who relies on it

Will never=be stricken with panic”                                                                              Isaiah 28:16

 

We are aging=and worldly things

Are crumbling=before our eyes

BUT=if we are built

 

On God’s love=built on

THE FRUITS=of the SPIRIT=we will

REMAIN ROCK SOLID!=(In our Faith)

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LIVING=forever loving

FOREVER FAITHFUL=Holy Father God!
