GOD will live

If you choose love

 

God will die

If you choose hate

 

If you see it through

God will live

Because of you

BECOMING A SIGN=OF LOVE=AND OF JESUS =IN THIS WORLD

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

BECOMING A SIGN=OF LOVE=AND OF JESUS=

In this WORLD

 

WE LIVE=In a world of SIGNS=Stop signs=Go signs=Caution signs=

School signs=EVERY KIND of sign IMAGINABLE=But there is ONLY ONE=

Real real TRUE SIGN=that INTERESTS ME=The sign of PERFECT LOVE=

As demonstrated by Jesus Christ’s Resurrection=OVER the Cross of death=

“When the people=SAW THE SIGN=He had done……..”                                                    John 6:1-15

 

HOW OFTEN=do you look for=SIGNS OF LOVE=and SIGNS that the Holy

Father God and Jesus=ARE ALIVE=In your life?=I am ASHAMED to admit it=

But I do it MORE OFTEN Than I should=May be you do it too

 

Today we READ about=Jesus FEEDING the 5,000 men=and not to mention=

Women and children=The PEOPLE saw this wonderful sign=and they were AMAZED=

But how quickly they and US FORGET=We all WANT continuous SIGNS!=”After

The people=SAW THE SIGN=Jesus performed=They began to say’=’Surely this

Is the prophet=Who is to COME=into the world’”                                                                              John 6:14

 

WHERE were these same people=When it came TIME for the crucifixion?=How

HAPPY we are=when we see SIGNS of=Jesus’ life and LOVE in our lives=and

HOW QUICKLY=we all FORGET=WHEN we no longer SEE=Those signs of love

In our life

 

“Therefore=The Lord himself=Will give you a SIGN=The VIRGIN will conceive=And

Give birth to a SON=and will call him Immanuel”                                                                             Isaiah 7:14

“He(Nicodemus)=Came to Jesus at night=and said’=’Rabbi=We know that you are=

A teacher=Who has come from God=For no one could perform=THE SIGNS you are

Doing=If God were not with him’”                                                                                                             Mark 3:2

“Jesus performed=MANY OTHER SIGNS=In the presence of his disciples=Which

Are not recorded in this book”                                                                                                                      John 20:30

 

But TODAY=we don’t need any MORE SIGNS=Of Jesus’ love=in this world=We have

THE EYEWITNESS TESTIMONY=of Mary Magdalene=and the 11 other apostles=and other

DISCIPLES=Testifying to the life=the death=and the RESURRECTION of Christ Jesus

 

THE QUESTIONS beckons to us=HOW are we going to be=a SIGN OF LOVE=and a SIGN

For Jesus in this world=This world=NEEDS MORE 21^st century Christian apostles=

Testifying for Jesus=Through their WORDS=Testifying with their deeds=and testifying

With their ACTIONS=for ALL the world to see=BECOMING A SIGN OF LOVE=And of JESUS=

In this world

 

“ALL the ways of=The Lord=are LOVING and faithful=Toward those who keep the demands

Of his covenant”                                                                                                                                                   Psalm 25:10

“Keep on LOVING=One another as brothers and sisters”                                                             Hebrews 13:1

“This is how we know=That we LOVE the children of God=BY LOVING God=and carrying out

His commands”                                                                                                                                                   1 John 5:2

 

So I ask you  guys=MY dear brothers and sisters=ALONG with myself=To ask yourself

This question=HOW CAN=we become=SIGNS OF LOVE=and OF JESUS=IN this modern

Day world=that we live in?=That is our CHRISTIAN DUTY=and moral obligation=IN this

World

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=OF OUR FOREVER LIVING=forever loving=Holy Father God!

AGAINST FALSE and Foolish Prophets

 

GOD’S WORD=AGAINST FALSE PROPHETS

 

Lines 1 and 2

THE COMMAND=to speak AGAINST False prophets

 

IN Ezekiel’s TIME=There were many FALSE POPHETS-

In Israel and Babylonia EXILE

 

They had an OPTIMISTIC POSITIVE MESSAGE=That

God WOULD DELIVER Jerusalem=And Judah

From Babylonia=and those exiled=WOULD COME HOME SOON

 

The SOURCE=was not demonic=Just from THEIR OWN HEART

They had=A NEED FOR ACCEPTANCE

 

The LORD’S MESSAGE to them=was to STOP LISTENING=to your own HEART

And HEAR=the WORD of God=THE WORD=Of the Lord

 

LINES 3-7

THESE PROPHETS=Yahweh=did NOT SEND

 

They were FULFILLED=by their own SPIRIT

They were FALSE PROPHETS=and fulfilled

 

From their=OWN heart and SPIRIT=and NOT

What GOD had said=They thought=they were

MORE IMPORTANT than God

 

They were NOT just stupid=BUT MORALLY INSENSITIVE

 

They were FOLLOWING=their own Spirit=NOT GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT

 

They were like=FOXES in the desert

Ie.       HELPING NOTHING=adding nothing=DELIGHTING in

            Their own BEST INTERESTS

 

THESE PROPHETS=lacked courage=NOT like soldiers

They did=NOT have the courage=To stand and STRENGTHEN ISRAEL

In a TIME OF CRISIS

 

THE LORD=did NOT send these FALSE PROPHETS

They were like=an EMPTY CHAIR=They did not speak=IN

The name=Of the LORD

 

LINES 8-9

THE NONSENSE=Spoken by the FALSE PROPHETS=

Was self-PROCLAIMED

 

They spoke nonsense and LIES=In God’s eyes

EVEN though it sounded SPIRITUAL

 

God was WORKING=against these FALSE PROPHETS

These prophets=WERE NOT GOD’S COVENANT PEOPLE

Ie.       NO SHARE=In Israel’s house or land

 

LINES 10-12

THE WEAK WALL=And the STORM

 

The false prophets MESSAGE=was attractive and seducing

 

They said PEACE=when there was NO PEACE

ISRAEL=was NOT going to win against Babylonia=and

That is=WHAT the false PROPHETS SAID

 

THIS SEDUCTIVE MESSAGE=Looked great=ON the outside

But HAD NO SUBSTANCE

 

It was LIKE a WALL=built with POOR MATERIALS

THE STORM WINDS=would tear it down=When Babylonia came=

EVERYONE would know=That they spoke FALSELY

 

LINES 13-14

THE COMING STORM

 

A stormy WIND=was coming=That

GOD WOULD SEND

 

ANYTHING made by God=IS STRONGER

Than man-made things

 

GOD WOULD BREAK=The self-appointed PROPHETS=and

Their man MADE MESSAGES

 

The WALL would fall=and take MANY PEOPLE WITH IT

 

LINES 15-16

GOD’S PURPOSE=IN THE STORM

 

GOD HATED=The work=of the FALSE PROPHETS=and the false prophets

WOULD BE Judged and destroyed too

 

THE MESSAGE of Jeremiah and EZEKIEL=was that

GOD’S PEACE=Was not on the way=JUDGMENT WAS=and

 

The people=SHOULD ACCEPT

GOD’S CHASTENING AND CLEANSING=The people WERE UNPREPARED

 

LINES 17-19

AGAINST FALSE PROPHETS

 

WOMEN FALSE PROPHETS=Ezekiel SPOKE OUT AGAINST

Women false prophets Too

 

NAMES     Miriam=The sister of Moses=Deborah=Huldah

                      The wife of Isaiah=Neadria=Anna=and 4 DAUGHTERS of Philip

 

THE BASIC WEAKNESS=of the FALSE PROPHETS was=INCLUDING the women

That they spoke=OUT OF THEIR OWN HEART

 

These women=USED magic charms=and clothing(VEILS)

To speak falsely=sewn

 

THESE women prophets=Were NOT HARMLESS or innocent=

IN GOD’S EYES=They were HURTING the souls of people

 

These woman=KEPT THEMSELVES ALIVE=made a LIVING

With FALSE works=Ceremonies=and actions

 

These women false PROPHETS=Were LYING to God’s own people

 

LINES 20-21

AGAINST THE MAGIC CHARMS=Of

The female FALSE PROPHETS

 

God is=AGAINST THESE MAGIC CHARMS=and false prophetesses

WHO TRAPPED VULNERABLE SOULS

 

God would DEFEAT=These false WOMEN Prophetesses=and RESCUE

Those trapped by them

 

AFTER God=defeats these women=Theses false prophets

GOD WOULD REVEAL HIMSELF=and they would know=You will KNOW

I AM LORD

 

LINES 22-23

THE TERRIBLE EFFECTS=of the LIES=of the false prophets

 

TWO EFFECTS form the false PROPHETS

 

1            SADNESS TO THE RIGHTEOUS

2            STRENGTHENED THE WICKED

Ie.    NO NEED TO TURN

 

GOD PROMISED TO DELIVER HIS PEOPLE

From these FALSE PROPHETS=Including the women

 

THEY WERE DEGRADING THE NAME OF THE LORD!

Everything that we know

About Philip

Comes from the New Testament

 

He was

Probably a disciple of John

Then began to follow Jesus

 

He also persuaded Nathaniel

To follow Jesus

 

At the feeding of the 5,000

He was concerned

That there was not enough bread and fish

To feed the 5,000

 

After finding Andrew and Peter

Jesus-leaving for Galilee-finds Philip

And says-“Follow me”

 

Philip-in turn-finds Nathaniel ( also called Bartholomew )

And tells him,

“We have found the one

Moses wrote about in the law

And about whom the prophets also wrote

Jesus of Nazareth-the son of Joseph”

 

Nathaniel says,

“Nazareth-can anything good come from there?”

 

Philip responds, “come and see”

 

Philip is believed

To have preached the Gospel in Phyrgia

After Christ’s Resurrection

And usually

Is represented by a cross

Or with loaves of bread

To recall his part

In the feeding of the 5000

 

JAMES THE LESS

 

Another apostle of Jesus

He was the son of Alphaeus

And it is believed

His mother stood at the foot of the cross

As Jesus was crucified

 

He also

May have written

The letter of James

 

It is believed

He was beat to death

With a club

After being sentenced to be stoned

By the Sanhedrin in 62 AD

 

His feast day

Along with the apostle Philip

Is May the 3^rd

WE ARE DIFFERENT=BECAUSE OF THE RESURECTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

WE ARE DIFFERENT=Because of

THE RESURRECTION

 

The apostles=Were DIFFERENT PEOPLE=Because of the RESURRECTION=

They went from People=Who ran away from Christ=To People who=and

Who were Physically ready=To give their LIVES=for him=We should be TOO!

“But Peter and the Apostles=Said in reply’=’We must OBEY GOD=Rather

Than men’”                                                                                                                                        Acts 5:29

 

And we should BE DIFFERENT TOO=Once we ACCEPT=Jesus as our Risen

Lord and SAVIOR=I am not saying=we should die=For Christ=UNLESS we

Have no other choice=But we should BE=READY and willing=To LIVE for

Jesus=WE ARE DIFFERENT=Because of THE Resurrection=Just like the

Apostles=or at least=WE SHOULD BE

 

THE Sanhedrin=Warned the apostles=to STOP Teaching in Jesus’ name=But

They didn’t run and hide=Like before the RESURRECTION=They didn’t deny

The Lord=They had the FAITH=to profess Jesus’ name=at any COST=How about

You and me?=Are we DIFFERENT BECAUSE of the Resurrection?=Do we

LIVE DIFFERENTLY=Because of Jesus?=We SHOULD!

 

“For there is=NO DIFFERENCE=Between Jew and Gentile=The same Lord is Lord=

Of all and richly blesses all=Who call on him=For EVERYONE who calls=On the

Name of the Lord=will be saved”                                                                                                      Romans 10:12

“There are=DIFFERENT KINDS of gifts=but the same Spirit=Distributes them=There

Are DIFFERENT kinds of service=But the same Lord=There are DIFFERENT kinds of working=

But in all of them=and in everyone=It is the SAME God at work”                            1 Corinthians 12:4-6

“For if someone comes=to you=and preaches a Jesus=Other than the Jesus=

We preached=Or if you receive a DIFFERENT SPIRIT=from the Spirit you received=

Or a DIFFERENT GOSPEL=From the one you accepted=You put up with it=

Easily enough”                                                                                                                                         2 Corinthians 11:4

 

No=that is NOT TRUE=For the ONLY Jesus=The apostles knew=And the ONLY GOSPEL=

The apostles accepted=Were that of Jesus Christ=That is=THE SAME WAY=for us=for you=

And me=For He is=The only MAN/GOD=Whoever walked the earth this way==Whoever

Talked this way=NO ONE ELSE=and we are DIFFERENT because of it=We are

DIFFERENT=Because of HIS RESURRECTION=and because of HIS VICTORY

Over death=In this world

 

The world=STILL does Not like=to HEAR about loving God=and loving others=ABOVE

All else=It is EASIER to=Just blend in=with the world=But YOU AND ME=we are DIFFERENT=

Because of THE RESURRECTION=We are living=surviving=even thriving=Because of

His VICTORY over death=Because of HIS PRESENCE WITHIN US!

 

“With God=we will GAIN THE VICTORY=and he will trample down our enemies”          Psalm 60:12

“When the perishable=has been Clothed=with the imperishable=and the mortal with

The immortality=Then the saying that is written=will come true=’Death has been

SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY’”                                                                                                      1 Corinthians 15:54

 

Dear Lord=WE PRAY=That like the apostles=WE accept your truth=and like

The apostles=We accept=YOUR life and RESURRECTION=For you are our

Teacher=and you are our=”WAY=TRUTH=AND LIFE”                                                                   John 14:6

You are the AUTHORITY=to whom we ANSWER=

 

BECAUSE WE ARE DIFFERENT=Because of THE RESURRECTION!=WE keep our

EYES on you

In Jesus’ name=and in the name =of our EVER LIVING=ever loving=ever VICTORIOUS=

Holy Father God!

GOD AND WORK

 

 

Do you like to work

Do you

Have a GOOD work ethic

 

NOW a days

Not only do we have jobs

But we have CAREERS

That we specialize in

 

It may SURPRISE you

To know

That God

Has a LOT to say

ABOUT WORK

 

First off he says

Do your work IN SIX DAYS

 

“Six days do your work

But on the seventh day

DO NOT WORK”                                                      Exodus 23:12

 

After ALL

GOD CREATED the world in six days

And on the seventh day

He RESTED

 

These days

I do NOT work for money

BUT nevertheless

I consider the work

That I do

Very important

 

Perhaps more important

Than when I worked for a career

 

I am working for the LORD

In fact, Jesus considered HIS MISSION AS WORK

 

“As long as it is day

WE MUST do the work of HIM

Who sent me

 

Night is coming

When no one can work

 

WHILE I AM

in the world

I am

THE LIGHT of the world”                                                    John 9:4-5

 

And we

Should have the SAME WORK ETHIC

That Jesus did

 

Though we

MAY NOT be the light

Of the world

 

We may be

The ONLY LIGHT OF GOD

That some people

May see

 

And whatever work

That we do

We should do it well

We should

Have PRIDE in our work

Even if

It is just sweeping floors

 

And ALWAYS know

That God wants you

To be HAPPY in your work

 

“MOREOVER

When God gives any man

Wealth and possessions

And enables him

To enjoy them

To accept his lot

And be HAPPY in his work-

This is a GIFT OF GOD”                                             Ecclesiastes 5:19

 

And KNOW

That whatever God began in you

He WILL carry it on to completion

 

God will NEVER forget you

And neither will I

 

BE HAPPY

In your work

WHETHER it is

THE WORK OF GOD

OR the work of your career

(or BOTH)

 

BE HAPPY

And do it

To the BEST of your ability

 

“I THANK my God

Every time I REMEMBER you

 

In ALL my prayers

For ALL of you

I ALWAYS pray

With JOY

Because of your partnership

In the gospel

From the first day

Until now

 

BEING CONFIDENT OF THIS

 

That he WHO BEGAN

A GOOD work in you

Will carry it on To completion

UNTIL the day of Christ Jesus”                                         Philippians 1:3-6

 

Until then

BE HAPPY-and do GOOD WORK
