TAKING THE MESSAGE TO HEART

God TEACHES US=

How to live in this world=

He often uses ordinary people

To GIFT us with GUIDANCE

Sometimes we don't

Get the message=but if we

Take the MESSAGE TO HEART=

We will eventually

Realize it is worth it

“........With your own eyes-

You shall see your TEACHER

While from behind

A voice shall sound

In your ears=

'This is the way=

Walk in it'”                                                                                                               Isaiah 30:20-21

Sometimes we go through

DARK DAYS in this life=

Where it becomes

Difficult to think or pray

But we have to

KEEP LOOKING for the

MESSAGES from God

We have to keep looking

For the messages from others=

We have to

Take the MESSAGE

To heart

“Who has believed

OUR MESSAGE=

And to whom

Has the arm

Of the Lord been revealed?”                                                                                        Isaiah 53:1

“Consequently faith comes

From hearing the MESSAGE

And the MESSAGE

Is heard

Through the word=about Christ”                                                                                  Romans 10:17

“For the MESSAGE

Of the cross is foolishness

To those who are perishing

But to us

Who are being saved

It is

The power of God”                                                                                              1 Corinthians 1:18

We have to

TAKE GOD'S MESSAGE

To heart=we have

To look for it

From others

And we  have to go back

And read the OLD READINGS

We have to look for

The MESSAGE of the psalms=

The proverbs=as well as

Jesus' message

From the NEW TESTAMENT

The teachings of Jesus=

The teachings of the psalms=

CAN SUSTAIN US

In times of trouble

This ADVENT we need

To LISTEN to our TEACHERS=

We need to

Take the LORD'S MESSAGE to HEART

“And God

Has placed in the church=

First of all apostles-

Second prophets=

THIRD TEACHERS........”                                                                                      1 Corinthians 12:28

“Now that I

Your Lord and TEACHER

THE BUILDING BUSINESS

 

 

 

 

January 8^th       

 

“The Building Business”

 

Jesus was

A carpenter by trade

 

He could have built anything

A home, a building

Any of the 7 wonders

Of the world

But he taught us how

To build something

Much more important

He taught us how

To build a life

 

We are

 Each the own carpenter

Of our life

And we can choose

What we put into our lives

 

We can choose

To put in love, forgiveness, and kindness

Or we can choose

Things like

Hatred, revenge, and indifference to others

 

Our Lord

Gave us the recipe

For a life that endures

 

Follow Christ’s teaching

And we have a life

Built on rock

 

Choose the other road

And we have a life

Built on sand

 

One thing is for certain

We will all be challenged

And tested in our life

 

Challenged by illness

Challenged by the death of a loved one

Challenged by a broken relationship

Or even just challenged

By the daily grind

 

One thing is for sure

Nothing was ever

Built on hatred

 

But if we build our life

On Christ’s teachings

Of love, forgiveness, and kindness

We will build

A LIFE THAT LASTS

Jesus brought=LOVING HIS FATHER=and loving service=OF ALL OTHERS=to

This world=That was and Who he is IS=THEN=NOW=AND FOREVER=”In those days=

A decree=Went out from Caesar Augustus……..to the city of David=That is called

Bethlehem=……..To be enrolled with Mary=His betrothed=Who was with CHILD”    Luke 2:1, 4-5

 

YES=through Jesus’ life=Beginning as a CHILD=THEN=NOW=and FOREVER!=Jesus

Offered HOPE and healing=to the wounded world=NOT power and control=HOW did

WE miss the point=SO BADLY in this world=Where all DOMION belongs to=The HOLY
FATHER GOD=and his Son Jesus Christ=”He remembers his covenant FOREVER=The

Promise he made=For a thousand generations”                                                  1 Chronicles 16:15

“The Lord REIGNS FOREVER=He has established his throne=For judgment”     Psalm 9:7

“And I will=Ask the Father=and he Will give you ANOTHER ADVOCATE=to help you=

And BE with you FOREVER”                                                                                                John 16:15

THE Son of God=His Spirit=The SPIRIT of the Holy Father God=LIVES with us=

He lived with us THEN=He Lives with us NOW=and he will LIVE WITH US FOREVER!=

THEN=NOW=AND FOREVER!

 

Just think about this=Two thousand years ago=A NEWBORN=and a young couple=In

Front of lowly shepherds=and a SINGING ANGEL=Brought about Jesus=and the SPIRIT

OF GOD=He was with us THEN=He is with us NOW=and he will BE WITH us FOREVER=Until

The end of TIME!=”Everyone who competes=IN the games=Goes into strict training=They

DO it=to get a crown=That will not last=But WE do it=To get a crown=That will last

FOREVER”                                                                                                                                   1 CORINTHIANS 9:25

“After that=We who are still alive=and are left=Will be caught up together=With them in

The clouds=To meet the Lord in the air=And so we will be=With the LORD

FOREVER”                                                                                                                                      1 Thessalonians 4:17

“ALL people are like grass=and all their glory=Is like the flowers=Of the field=The grass withers=

And the flowers fall=But the WORD of the Lord=ENDURES FOREVER”             1 Peter 4:24-25

 

THE GOOD NEWS=Is STILL the good news=Meaning God was  with us THEN=some

2,000 years ago=He is with US NOW==and THANKFULLY=He will be=with us

UNTIL the end of time FOREVER!

 

Jesus=The FATHER=and the SPIRIT OF GOD=will LIVE in our HEARTS FOREVER=MERRY CHRISTMAS!=My dear family=my dear friends==and to all of us=I LOVE you all too!

FIND A DREAM!

 

 

 

 

 

 

KEEP YOUR DREAMS ALIVE=In God the Holy Father

And Christ Jesus

 

 

 

JANUARY 7^th

 

 

FIND A DREAM

 

 

Plodding along day by day

Never seeming to get anywhere

The world is holding you at bay

Sometimes even knocking you back

But you continue to work

To get back on the track

Until you find what it is

That you lack

Sometimes you never find it

But you keep looking for the way

 

Dreams have been battered

Dreams have been broken

The dreams you once had

Are now only a token

But you make new dreams

You make new plans

Whether or not you can reach them

You don’t really know

But you’ve got to give it all you got

You’ve got to give a go

 

You go out day after day

Doing what you have to do

Not wanting your new dreams

To go astray

You’re mindful of your purpose

And you do whatever it is that you must

 

And then it happens again

Disaster strikes down all your dreams

Yow want to give up

You want to cry

But somehow you manage to capture some self-esteem

You ask yourself why

Why is it me

That fate must frown down upon

 

But then you look around to see

That somehow you just have to hang on

Until your soul is filled with glee

 

For one thing that’s true about dreams

No matter how many times they’ve been broken

No matter how many time they’ve become just a token

We can always create a brand new dream

And look for it in tomorrow

Fighting through our heartbreak

And all or sorrow

To plod along day by day

To somehow find a way

 

Until we can find the dream

That we can look to and look to

And make come true

Ps              as time marched on---I began to realize that the personal aspirations for my      

                  life---career-family-children---do to my health situation---and finances     

                  because of that--- were NEVER going to happen

 

                  so I began to really focus on my promise---“to live for my family, friends

                  and all people everywhere”

 

                  when I talk to people---if it is someone that seems to be overwhelmed with

                  their own problems---I try to tell them to focus on trying to help someone else

 

                  the one thing that I have learned through my life---is that the past is the past

                  and to leave it there---tomorrow is the FIRST DAY of the rest of your life

 

                  We are ALL CHILDREN OF GOD and GOD LOVES each and every one of

                   Us

PRAYING THROUGH THE DISTRACTIONS 

OF LIFE

My intentions

Are always GOOD

They are ALWAYS to

Spend time alone with God-and-

PRAY!-Pray!-pray!

But I have to tell you

Despite my intentions-it does

NOT always happen that way

THINGS happen-distractions set in

This happens-that happens-

Other things grab my attention

And BEFORE I know it

Before I am in the proper frame

Of mind

I am on to other things

“Do NOT FORGET

The works of the Lord”                                                         Psalm 78:7

We must REMEMBER

The works of the Lord

We MUST get ourselves

To that PROPER frame of mind

And PRAISE him at all times

ONE thing that I have come 

To do

IS to think of my whole life

As one big prayer

That way-whatever I am doing

I am conscious

That the Lord is with me

EVEN working for my good

In that situation

“But Martha was distracted

By ALL the preparations

That had to me made

She came to him and asked,

'Lord-don't you CARE

That my sister has left me

To do the work by myself?

TELL HER to help me!'

“'Martha-Martha,'-the Lord answered-

'You are worried and upset

About MANY things

But FEW things are needed-

Or indeed ONLY ONE

Mary has CHOSEN

What is better

And it will not be

Taken away from her'”                                                             Luke 10:40:42

MAYBE that is-in TODAY'S world too

Maybe we need to be

A little MORE Mary-and-a

LOT LESS Martha in our lives

CHOOSING to PRAY

Through the distractions of life

Nine hundred years ago

Saint Bernard of Clairvaux advised

The POPE how to KEEP

Spiritual focus in office

“I DESIRE indeed

That you should have peace

From distractions

But I don NOT want you

To make peace with them........”

I think sometimes OUR distractions

Are there for a REASON

Areas of our lives

That need attention

That NEED brought to God

“Listen-my sons-

To a father's instruction

Pay attention and gain understanding”                                         Proverbs 4:1

“WE must pay the

Most CAREFUL attention

Therefore-to what we have heard-

So that we do NOT drift away”                                                      Hebrews 2:1

Dear Lord-we PRAY

HELP US=at all times

To pray through

The DISTRACTIONS of life

And put you number 1

In our life=RIGHT

WHERE you ought to be

That way-we will FIND

The PEACE that we NEED

In our lives

No matter how we try

It’s that promise

It’s part of who we are

Much of ourselves

We would lack

 

Promises made

As long as we are alive

It is our promise

Who we are

PROBABLY=for the LAST few weeks=If not months=We have been=SETTING

EXTRA TIME aside=to Prepare FOR CHRISTMAS=PREPARING for Christmas=Getting

Those last few Shopping items for Christmas=Putting up decorations=Preparing

Meals=Making travel plans=But how MANY of us=Have been setting TIME ASIDE=

For Jesus=This Christmas=THE NEWBORN Jesus=and the HOLY FAMILY!=”Blessed

Be the Lord=……..He has COME to his people…….”                                                              Luke 1:68

 

IN the busyness=Of our every day lives=It is easy TO MISS=The PONT of Christmas=

 

And that is=Our SAVIOR the Christ Child=The GOD of love=and LIFE=ENTERING THE
WORLD=as a human being=YET being God himself=SET aside a few MOMENTS=TODAY to

Prepare=For the Father and Jesus=Don’t miss the INTEGRAL PONT=Of your life=Of

Your salvation=”Woe to you=Teachers of the law=and Pharisees=and hypocrites=You

Give a tenth of your spices--------mint=dill=and cumin=But you have neglected=The

MORE IMPORTANT matters of the law=Justice=mercy=and faithfulness”                           Matthew 23:23

“The MOST IMPORTANT ONE’=Answered Jesus=’is this=’Hear Oh Israel=The Lord our God=

The Lord is one=Love the Lord your Go=With all your heart=and with all your soul=and

Christmas is  just=A few days away=What is MOST IMPORTANT=In your life=Right now?=

It should be=To SET ASIDE=A FEW MOMENTS=To PRAY=and to PREPARE=for Christmas=

For the Christ CHILD=EMMANUEL=GOD IS WITH US!

 

So FIND a quiet place=TO PRAY=to sit down=and QUIET your mind and your SOUL=and

THANK Jesus=For coming into your life-with a few moments=OF PRAYER=GIVE him a few

MOMENTS=of your time=This is THE MOST important thing you=Can do right now=

“……..That the mirth=Of the wicked=Is brief=The joy of=the godless lasts=BUT A MOMENT”   Job 20:5

“For his anger=Lasts only A MOMENT==But his favor lasts a lifetime=Weeping may stay for=

The night=But REJOICING comes in the morning”                                                                                Psalm 30:5

“We did not give in=To them for A MOMENT=So that the truth of the gospel=Might be

Preserved  for you”                                                                                                                                            Galatians 2:5

 

Don’t LOSE SIGHT =of the fact=That Jesus Christ=Was born in=A STABLE=just for you=

REMEMBER=what he did for you=that very FIST CHRISTMAS=and What he=CONTINUES to=

Do for us=Every moment=OF OUR LIVES=That is how IMPORTANT =You are to him==WELCOME

Jesus=and his LOVING FATHER=into the STABLE of your heart

“For what I received=I passed on to you=AS OF FIRST IMPORTANCE=That Christ died for=

Our sins=According to the Scriptures…….”                                                                          1 Corinthians 15:3”

“But what does it matter?=The IMPORTANG THING IS==That in every way=Whether from

False motives or true=Christ is PREACHED=And because of this=I Rejoice”    Philippians 1:18

 

Dear Lord=My sisters and brothers and I=OPEN our hearts to you=THIS CHRISTMAS=Help

Us to REMEMBER=Every  DAY of our lives-to SET ASIDE SOME TIME for you daily=and the God

Of us ALL!
