JOURNAL=5-31-15=BELIEVE “When they ALL saw him-they WORSHIPED-but they DOUBTED” Matthew 28:17 We LIVE in a scientific age-we ALL want PROOF of everything-but WHERE GOD is concerned-it is a misnomer-because WE FIND GOD in faith-we find GOD by believing-WE BELIEVE despite the lack of evidence YET the circumstantial EVIDENCE for God is all around us-the sun-the moon-the green grass-and trees-OUR VERY OWN LIVES The WOMEN in the above example had already ANNOUNCED the incredible news to the disciples-Jesus is NO LONGER in the tomb-he is ALIVE in their midst-they BELIEVED-yet they doubted Jesus told the disciples that he would live-that he would RISE from the dead-even with PROOF-with Jesus right in front of them-the human condition was shining through-THEY WANTED to believe-yet they questioned and they doubted HOW about you and me? DO you believe the Scriptures-do you BELIEVE-the eyewitness testimony-WE PROFESS that Jesus is ALIVE-that God is ALIVE in this world-but do you really BELIEVE IT? I can only ANSWER for MYSELF-I was never so sure of anything in my ENTIRE LIFE-GOD IS ALIVE-JESUS IS ALIVE-He is alive IN YOU AND IN ME Dear Lord-we PRAY that we may be witnesses to you in this world-we may be WITNESSES to you-even when FAITH AND DOUBT coexist WE BELIEVE! It is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great day for having FAITH in God and for BELIEVING that Jesus Christ is ALIVE-and in our very midst it is a GREAT DAY for BELIEVING WITNESS 8-3-13 BELIEVE The best magic Doesn’t trick you IT MAKES YOU BELIEVE And that’s WHAT happened to me Believe In the GOODNESS of God BELIEVE In the KINDNESS of others GOD SAVED My life He has kept me alive Over and over again God is good BELIEVE Believe in the goodness of God Believe in miracles Believe in the MAGIC Of ordinary days Believe OUR GOD IS ALIVE “Jesus said, ‘I tell you the truth If you have faith and do not doubt Not only Can you do what was done To the fig tree But you can also say To the mountain ‘Go throw yourself into the sea’ And it will be done If you BELIEVE You will receive Whatever you ask for in prayer’” Matthew 21:22 BELIEVE Believe in God Believe in others SO MANY have helped me on my way Along my journey BELIEVE-in the KINDNESS of others GOD will not disappoint FAMILY will not disappoint FRIENDS will not disappoint THE BEST MAGIC IS GOD The next best magic is FAMILY And the next best magic Is your friends JUST BELIEVE “He (John the Baptist) came as a witness To testify Concerning that BELIEF So that through him ALL MEN WILL BELIEVE” John 1:7 “He himself Was NOT the light (JESUS was) He came only as a witness To the light The true light That gives light to every man Was coming into the world” John 1:8 & 9 And if you Do not believe In John’s testimony Or believe In my faith and testimony BELIEVE IN THE MIRACLES For no miracle Was ever performed by Jesus Without faith By the one Who received the miracle “WHY then Do you accuse me of blasphemy Because I said ‘I am God’s Son’ Do not believe me Unless I do what my Father does But if I do it Even though you do not believe me BELIEVE THE MIRACLES That you may know and understand That the Father is in me And I in the Father” John 10:37 & 38 Dear Lord-WE BELIEVE Robert P. JOURNAL=5-30-15=WHAT WOULD YOU ASK FOR? “WHEN I was young and innocent-I sought wisdom........” Sirach 51:13 MOST of us KNOW about King David's-son-Solomon-asking for WISDOM-when he was granted one WISH from God-but did you know that there was a another man pursuing WISDOM-a man by the name of Sirach In the book of Sirach-he speaks about LOOKING BACK on a lifetime of seeking God's will and experiencing God's guidance-FROM eighteen to eighty he “BURNED WITH DESIRE” for God's WISDOM SO I ASK YOU-have you been burning with desire to do GOD'S WILL-have you been burning with desire for seeking the WISDOM OF GOD-Solomon eventually throws away his gift of wisdom-by seeking pagan or alien wives-but what about Sirach-he makes no such mention-and what about you and me WHAT WOULD you ask for IF GOD granted you one wish-I would ask for UNENDING LIFE with God and Christ-and to LIVE in the HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD forever-and I would do my VERY BEST not to throw it all away-like SOLOMON-by choosing the wrong mate SO REMEMBER-as you go through your journey of life-to ALWAYS keep knocking on the door of God for WISDOM-and ask for the guidance to not make bad decisions-and IF we do-as we all have done at one time or another-KEEP IN MIND we worship a FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL GOD-who will always give us another chance-IF we are really and truly TRYING to get it RIGHT It is NEVER TOO LATE to open the door to God and to WISDOM it is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in God's LOVE for us and a great day to be “burning with desire” for the wisdom of God WITTNESS 5-6-13 WHAT WOULD YOU ASK FOR As David was dying He bestowed on his son, Solomon, his kingship And he told his son-Solomon To walk in the ways of the Lord And to keep God’s laws and requirements As written In the book of Moses And that God would “keep his promise” That someone from David’s descendants Would always sit on the throne After David does in fact die The Lord appears to Solomon and says, “Ask for whatever you want me To give to you” 1 Kings 3:5 So Solomon asks for, “A discerning heart To govern your people And to distinguish between right and wrong” 1 Kings 3:9 In other words---WISDOM God was so pleased With Solomon’s answer That he bestows on him, “Riches and honor So that in your lifetime You will have no equal among kings” 1 Kings 3:13 If you were Solomon What would you have asked for Basically, wisdom is practical insight The skill of living successfully And it begins With FEAR OF THE LORD In Solomon’s own words, he writes, “The FEAR of the Lord Is the beginning of knowledge For fools despise wisdom and discipline” Proverbs 1:7 Unfortunately for Solomon He made some bad choices with women Is there any of us men That can’t identify with that At least once in our life The Bible says That he-Solomon-had over 700 wives And as he grew older He let his wives Turn his heart toward other gods And that his heart Was NOT fully devoted To the one true God As his father-David’s-had been So Solomon---As ADAM did before him Chose to follow a woman over God God becomes angry at Solomon Because he DID NOT keep his covenant With God So God Let’s his kingdom become divided HOW MANY of us Have become LOST in life BOTH men and women By becoming enamored with someone of the opposite sex With a dubious reputation So dear friends---like Solomon before us We pray for WISDOM But NOT just any wisdom We pray for SPIRITUAL WISDOM And the FAITH to see it through “The man Without the spirit Does not accept the things That come from the spirit of God For they are foolishness to him And he cannot understand them Because they are spiritually discerned” 1 Corinthians 2:14 Dear Lord, humbly, we your people Ask you for one more thing That the SPIRIT OF GOD BE PRESENT IN OUR LIVES In Jesus’ name, we pray……. WHAT ABOUT ME?

WHAT ABOUT ME? Do you ever Feel like GOD LOVES other people Or even someone else MORE than he loves you I THINK it is a COMMON FEELING WHEN things Are going right in someone else' life Or sometimes SEEMINGLY every one else' life But our own When we Have serious health difficulties When we Have serious financial issues Or even When relationship Or family problems ARISE Though we know We shouldn't do it We look to The guy or gal BESIDE US Who are seemingly going Great guns And we wonder Why me-or WHAT ABOUT ME? We could LEARN A great lesson From the 21st chapter of Saint John's GOSPEL “Jesus said to Peter (regarding the disciple that Jesus loved) 'WHAT if I want him To REMAIN until I come What concern of it is yours? YOU MUST FOLLOW ME” John 21:22 Jesus was telling Peter As HE IS telling us today That his relationship With other people HIS RELATIONSHIP with other apostles and disciples ISN'T any of our business We are To be concerned ONLY with our own relationship With God and Jesus UNLESS We are called upon To ENCOURAGE ANOTHER Or HELP someone else ALL we need to do Is focus Or listen For his call And FOLLOW WHERE he leads us STILL you ask WHERE is the JUSTICE In that-or WHAT ABOUT ME? God will not forget Jesus will not forget JUSTICE for the righteous “For the Lord Is RIGHTEOUS He loves justice The upright Will see his FACE” Psalm 11:7 “MANY seek an audience With a ruler But it is FROM the Lord That one gets JUSTICE” Proverbs 29:26 So please-don't ever say “WHAT ABOUT JUSTICE?” You will receive your justice From God In the end-God WILL JUSTIFY YOU “WHO will bring Any charge Against those Whom God has CHOSEN It is GOD WHO JUSTIFIES” Romans 8:33 Dear Lord-WE PRAY HELP US To FOLLOW YOU In love and faith And NEVER SAY “WHAT ABOUT ME?” We are JUSTIFIED BY YOUR GRACE Robert P. JOURNAL=5-29-15=ANGER MANAGEMENT “On entering the temple area-he began to DRIVE OUT those selling and buying there-he overturned the table of the money changers........” Mark 11:15 Have you ever lost your temper-or has anyone ever LOST their temper on you-and have you ever rationalized your behavior by saying Jesus lost his temper too-by saying-Jesus threw the moneychangers out of the temple-and that the rest of us sinners are ENTITLED to anger BUT the TRUTH IS-anger is NEVER the Christian thing to do-it must be TENDERED WITH LOVE-JESUS' ANGER was without sin-he KNEW the intentions of the moneychangers-and he knew that no one would be harmed by his rebuke-the rest of us-have NO such wisdom And it is ONLY in our hindsight that we can see HOW we hurt someone-and how we could have tempered our attack with a little less anger-and a little MORE LOVE-Jesus had a RIGHTEOUS ANGER ANGER is an issue for MANY of us in today' world But PLEASE remember the BIG picture WE are here to ACCOMPLISH the RIGHTEOUSNESS Of God It is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE! In GOD'S LOVE for us WITNESS May 16th, 2013 ANGER MANAGEMENT One of the Most wasted emotions That we have is anger We get angry We tell someone off We write someone A nasty letter For what A split moment to feel better But it almost NEVER changes anything-long-term But what about God What does God Do with his anger When we disappoint him God told Moses, “The Lord, The Lord The compassionate and gracious God Slow to anger-abounding in love And faithfulness Maintaining love to thousands And forgiving wickedness, rebelliousness, and sin” Exodus 34:6 & 7 Maybe that’s what the Lord Wants us to do-forgive wickedness Maybe we are first To go to our brother and sister And talk with them “Therefore If you are offering your gift At the altar And there remember That your brother Has something against you Leave your gift there In front of the altar First go And be reconciled to your brother Then come and offer your gift’’ Matthew 5:23 & 24 And if You have already tried this And the person Proved themselves unreasonable I suggest You pray for them For God To change their heart And do your best To AVOID them Anger is A POWERFUL emotion But if We truly forgive the other person We can move Closer to becoming a better person And move CLOSER TO GOD I am NOT saying Do not feel anger But I am saying Temper your anger with mercy “The Lord Is compassionate and gracious Slow to anger ABOUNDING IN LOVE” Psalm 103:8 I am saying Before you blast someone verbally Before you fire off An e-mail Or write a nasty letter Think of what The Lord would do “This is how we should pray …….. JOURNAL=5-28-15=BREATHE A LITTLE “By the WORD of the Lord-the heavens were made-by the BREATH of his mouth-ALL their host” Psalm 33:6 God says the word “Be!”-and with that utterance-the sun-the moon-and stars-and ALL of God's creation are BREATHED into being WE too breathe-WE may NOT be able to create the world into being-or anything into being for that matter-BUT we can utter love-peace-and kindness into our brothers and sisters-in Christ-and with the proper words-we can BREATHE a little HOPE into another human being LIFE is sacred-with the breath of our lives-we can HONOR those who came before us-OUR VERY OWN FAMILY-and by living the PROPER VALUES-we can set the tone for those who come after us What kind of LEGACY are we leaving for those who come after us? JOURNAL=5-27-15=TAKE A LOOK........A GOOD LONG LOOK “HE began to tell them what was going to HAPPEN to him” Mark 10:32 BEFORE it happened-Jesus pulled his disciples aside-and told them what was going to happen to him-He told them he would be seized-tortured-and put to death-LOOKING back now-WE REALIZE he KNEW exactly what he was talking about it-but let's face it-WE-HIS DISCIPLES of today-would probably have NOT paid any more attention to him-than his disciples of yesteryear did-CAN YOU just IMAGINE what was going through his mind My disciples-MY FRIENDS-are ALL going to desert me-and leave me to be humiliated and die all alone-ARE YOU EMBARASSED?-I AM-WHAT are we going to say to him-IF we are FORTUNATE enough to meet him at the end of our life it is A GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us-and a great to FINALLY REALIZE-if we haven't already-what our LORD and Savior-Jesus Christ did for us-and a great day to BEGIN TO GIVE some portion of our life back to him TAKE A LOOK---TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK There’s a man Out there on the hill With something on his back Walking, struggling Trying to move along He was Made to do this By a man By the name of Pilate Because He fell out of favor With the people But he picked up the cross Willingly And moved right along He fell once, He fell twice And even a third time But he kept getting back up The people all knew It was wrong Take a look At this man Take a good long look The people of his day Did not want To confront their sins The same as me and you today They keep---we keep Living out of coldness Living out of ingratitude Living out of selfishness Denying the needs of one another Along the way On his walk with the cross He met his Mother Along the way He wept for the women of Jerusalem--- And the people of his day Take a look Take a very long good look He knew That these sins Had to be confronted He knew That these sins Had to be carried Had to be put away Keep looking See that cross That cross that he is carrying It is the perfect definition of his love For you and for me The greatest love, he once said, “Is to lay down one’s life For his friends” He is stripped Take a look He is crucified Take a very long look He dies And is put in the tomb Keep on looking His carrying of the cross Is the answer to ALL of our needs His perfect compassion His perfect love Jesus The Lamb of God Jesus The perfect life Jesus The perfect love Hanging out there in the tree For you and for me Take a look TAKE A GOOD LONG LOOK Robert P. JOURNAL=5-26-15=THE LAST SHALL BE FIRST “Jesus said: 'Amen-I say to you-there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands-for my sake and the sake and the sake of the gospel-who will not RECEIVE a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands-with persecutions-and ETERNAL LIFE in the age to come'” Mark 10:29-30 Have you ever finished LAST at something in life-or been CHOSEN last for something-NOT a very good feeling is it-yet Jesus tells us those that are last-will be FIRST in GOD'S KINGDOM-how comforting-when the world leaves us in its wake-God tells us-Jesus tells us-WE ARE still fist with him And as for the above example-ALL we have to do is LOOK TO the story of JOB-who lost everything-yet God gave him everything back and MORE-SO what do we have to give up to FOLLOW Jesus in today's world-WE have to RENOUNCE LIVING by the worldly values of-sex-money- and science first-and LIVE BY GOD'S VALUES of LOVE-FAMILY-kindness-and forgiveness first-WE HAVE to make GOD FIRST in our hearts BY HOLDING God first-we become loving and living vessels of GOD'S KINGDOM-WE are no longer slaves to a willful and selfish love-but we are DRAWN CLOSER and closer to him as we DRIFT further away form the values that the world teaches us-and we FINISH FIRST in the heart of God-just as JOB DID it is a great day to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us and a great day for making GOD number 1 in our hearts “The Last Shall Be First” In the 20th Chapter Of Saint Matthew’s Gospel Jesus tells the parable Of a landowner hiring workers He hires Some workers for the morning He hires Some in Mid-day And he hires some Late in the day When it comes time For payment He pays them All the same wages Is Jesus being unfair What is Jesus Trying to teach us Jesus is not being unfair Because he paid everyone What he promised to pay them I think here again Jesus is trying to teach us God’s ways Are not our ways I think he is Trying to teach us That it makes no difference When you come to God As long as YOU DO Come to God And I think Jesus Is trying to teach us That the payment Is the same for us No matter when we come to God As long as We do come to God And that payment Is GOD’S UNDYING LOVE FOR US Robert P.
