I am sure
You have heard the saying
“Don’t forget where you came from”


Did you know
That the entire Christian faith
With the exception of one man
Was started and begun
By Jewish people


Christ himself was a Jew


Never forget


Of Christ’s 72 original disciples
Only one was a non-Jew
Luke ---a gentile and physician


Never forget


Abraham was a Jew
In fact---the founder of the Jewish nation
In fact---the 3 monotheistic religions
Can ALL be traced back to him


Abraham---the father of many nations
We owe him a debt of gratitude
Thank you Abraham


Never forget


Moses was a Jew
He led his people to the Promised Land
He gave us the ten Commandments
We owe him a debt of gratitude
Thank you Moses


Never forget


Christ himself was a Jew
He taught us the 2 GREATEST COMMANDMENTS
He taught us about forgiveness
He taught us the beatitudes


He was given an assignment by God
He COMPLETED it


HE was the WORD MADE FLESH
God himself
Yet one of us too
( KNOWS all too well about our pain and suffering )


Walked it, did, lived it , died it


Thank you Jesus


NEVER FORGET


As I said
71 of the original disciples were Jewish


How ironic is it
That Jewish people were the beginning
Of the entire Christian movement


We owe them a debt of gratitude
We must---never forget


My mother always told me,
“Bob, love draws a circle
And pulls people in
Hate draws a circle
And pushes people out”


We must LIVE AND WALK IN LOVE


Last I heard
There were 6 or 7million Jewish people
Living in the United States


If we are ever to really be
“ONE NATION UNDER GOD”

I LOVE YOU ALL!

SMALL FAITH CAN CREATE MIRACLES

SMALL FAITH=CAN CREATE BIG MIRACLES


Do you KNOW
What a mustard seed is?


Do you have FAITH
The size of a
MUSTARD SEED?


Just a little BIT of small faith
Can lead to a
BIG MIRACLE for you=
And a big miracle
For the WORLD


“When the mustard seed
Was FULLY GROWN


It became a large bush
And “the BIRDS of the sky
Dwelt in its branches” Luke 13:19


MUSTARD SEEDS are very TINY=
They are NOT
Even a quarter of an inch wide


Yet fully grown
The plants stand about
NINE feet high


LARGE enough for
Birds to nest in


Do you POSSESS the FAITH
The size of a
Mustard seed?


IF SO=maybe you
Can CREATE a MIRACLE
For this ENTIRE WORLD


“He TOLD them another parable=
'The kingdom of heaven
IS like a mustard seed
Which a man took
And PLANTED in his field


Though it is
The SMALLEST of all seeds
Yet when it GROWS


It is the
Largest of garden plants
And becomes a TREE


So that the birds
Come and perch
In its branches'” Matthew 13:31-32


Let your FAITH GROW into
The mustard seed
Let it become LARGE


SMALL FAITH
Can equal=BIG MIRACLES


“He replied=
'Because you have SO little faith


TRULY I tell you
IF you have FAITH
As SMALL as a mustard seed


You can say
To this mountain
'move from here to there'


And it will MOVE=
NOTHING will be impossible
For you'” Matthew 17:20-21


HEAR THAT?
Your tiny=eensy small
BIT OF FAITH
Can create a miracle
For this world


“NOTHING” is impossible for you


SMALL doesn't scare the Lord
He can WORK MIRACLES
With the tiniest of faith
Within us


Small faith
Can EQUAL big miracles


“You ARE the GOD
Who performs MIRACLES


You display your power
Among the peoples” Psalm 77:14


We just NEED to muster up
Some strength=and FAITH
To say YES to LOVE=and


TRUST GOD=he will
DO the rest


Dear LORD=we come SMALL
And UNSURE=make a MIRACLE
Out of our lives


SMALL FAITH
CAN CREATE MIRACLES

LIVING THE LIGHT


We LIVE in a
DARK dark world


Where hatred and killing
Are THREATENING
The LIGHT


Just last week=we had a BOMBER
Going after all those he
Didn't agree with=via MAIL


And then we had an ANTI-SEMITIC killer
Going after JEWISH PEOPLE
In Pittsburgh=where I am from


SADNESS and DARKNESS
all around us


“Live as CHILDREN OF LIGHT” Ephesians 5:8


We NEED to look
Back at the SCRIPTURES


We need to look back
At the LIFE OF JESUS CHRIST
To SEE the light


To see HOW
That we may NEED
To live


And we need to put
KINDNESS AND LOVE into action


LIVING THE LIGHT!


“You LORD
Keep my lamp burning


My God
Turns my darkness
INTO LIGHT” Psalm 18:28


“Come descendants
Of Jacob
Let us walk


In the LIGHT of the LORD” Isaiah 2:5


“The people
LIVING in darkness
Have seen a GREAT LIGHT


On those
Living in the land
Of the shadow of death


A LIGHT has dawned” Matthew 4:16


LIVING in the light
Of LOVE
Living in the LIGHT
Of our LORD!


The gospel=Jesus
Demands us=to separate
Our selfishness and greed
FROM OUR LOVE


We IMITATE he=Jesus
Who is
The LIGHT of the world


We imitate Jesus
WHEN we are
LIVING THE LIGHT!


And we are to live
Giving COMPASSION and MERCY
To all=NOT out of hatred
And killing people


This world has gone NUTS=
It is NOT FOLLOWING
The compassion and MERCY OF Jesus


“Who redeems your life
From the pit
And crowns you
With LOVE AND COMPASSION” Psalm 103:4


“Therefore
As GOD'S CHOSEN PEOPLE
Holy and dearly loved


Clothe yourselves with COMPASSION=
Kindness=humility=
Gentleness=and patience” Colossians 3:12


Dear LORD=FREE us
From our fears=we move forward
SHINING our LIGHT and LOVE brightly


Our God of LIGHT=help us to
Spread goodness to others


KEEP LIVING THE LIGHT!

LIVING A GRATEFUL LIFE


Dear FRIENDS=I implore you TODAY
To take a look BACK
At your life


And look at all the MOMENTS
God has INTERVENED in your life
For you


And help put you
On the PATH
That your life has now taken


LIVING A GRATEFUL LIFE and
I am thankful and GRATEFUL
To GOD
For ALL he has done
For me


“Jesus told him
'Go your way
Your FAITH has SAVED YOU'


Immediately he RECEIVED
His sight
And followed him
On his way” Mark 10:52


Bartimaeus =was a man
WITHOUT SIGHT
But a man of FAITH
And VISION


But how about
Me and you?
Are we people of FAITH?
Are we people of VISION?


And Bartimaeus was totally
GRATEFUL for Jesus


How about you and me?
Are we GRATEFUL
For Jesus?


Are we grateful to God
For the times
He has STEPPED IN for us?


Thankful to God
Thankful to You=
My brothers and sisters
For HELPING ME
Along the way=in this crazy life


“Let the PEACE of Christ
RULE in your hearts


Since as members
Of one body
You were
Called to peace


And be THANKFUL” Colossians 3:15


“Devote yourselves to prayer=
Being watchful and THANKFUL” Colossians 4:2


“Therefore=since we are
Receiving a kingdom
That CANNOT be shaken


Let us BE THANKFUL
And worship God acceptably
With reverence and awe


For OUR GOD=
Is a consuming fire” Hebrews 12:28


I am thankful and GRATEFUL
For life=ANY kind of life


I have almost died
So many times=and I LIVE
In UNBEARABLE PAIN=every day


Yet I am so
THANKFUL for life=
Thankful to God=
Just for life itself


I think we SHOULD be
People of faith=and
People of vision=like Bartimaeus
And be grateful to God
For every=little thing


“In the last days
God says


I will pour out
MY SPIRIT
On all people


Your sons and daughters
Will prophesy


Your young men
Will see VISIONS
Your old men
Will dream dreams” Acts 2:17


Dear Lord=dear brothers and
Sisters=thank you for ALL
You have done for me


Thank you for GIVING me a
LIFE=to be GRATEFUL FOR

LET US BE GENEROUS OF SPIRIT


There are ALL TYPES of ways
To GIVE of ourselves
In this world


OUR time-our money-OUR PRAYERS-
Sometimes just our own-
GENEROUS SPIRIT


“MANY rich people
Put in LARGE sums


A poor WIDOW also came
And put in two SMALL COINS
Worth a few cents” Mark 12:41-42


We all have different TALENTS-
And different amounts-
To GIVE to this world


As long as we GIVE-
What we can-in WHATEVER WAY-
That we can
We are DOING our part


In today's readings=the ANGEL-Raphael-
Tells Tobit-
ALMSGIVING is better than
Prayer and fasting


And the POOR WIDOW-
GAVE more than any
Of the wealthy donors-because-
She gave her all


WE should always give
ALL we can-in all the ways
Of our lives


Let us be GENEROUS OF SPIRIT
In giving ALL that we can


“All day long-
He craves for more


But the RIGHTEOUS GIVE
Without sparing” Proverbs 21:26


“In EVERYTHING I did-
I showed you that
By this kind of hard work


We MUST HELP the weak
Remembering the words
The Lord Jesus himself said:


'It is MORE BLESSED to give
Than to receive'” Acts 20:35


“But since you EXCEL-
In everything-


In faith-in speech-
In knowledge-in complete earnestness


And in the LOVE-
We have KINDLED in you
SEE that you also excel-


In this GRACE OF GIVING” 2 Corinthians 8:7


Let us be GENEROUS-
IN SPIRIT-in every walk
Of our lives


Dear Lord-we PRAY-
That we be LESS calculating-
And more SPONTANEOUS in giving=
In whatever FORM that that is


And that we BE GENEROUS


“GOOD will come
To those who are GENEROUS
And lend freely


Who conduct their affairs
IN JUSTICE” Psalm 112:5


“A generous PERSON
Will prosper


Whoever REFRESHES others
WILL BE REFRESHED” Proverbs 11:25


Dear Lord we pray=HELP US
To be GENEROUS IN SPIRIT-
By GIVING all that we can


By giving a helping HAND-
WORDS of praise-
A listening ear-
Doing small FAVORS for others
And financial contributions-
WHEN WE CAN


We do THIS=in YOUR NAME O Lord-
And OFFER it up to you

JUDGING WHAT IS RIGHT


There seems to BE
Sin=temptation=and evil
All AROUND US


How can we be SURE
On which WAY to go?
We have to be able
To JUDGE for ourselves


“Yo know how to INTERPRET
The appearance of the earth
And the sky


WHY do you
NOT know how to interpret
The present time?


Why do you not judge
For yourselves=what is RIGHT?” Luke 12:56-57


Are you serious Lord?
How can we KNOW
Which way is right


With so much evil and temptation
ALL around?


We have to REMEMBER
That we are all sinners


We must LOOK
At ourselves IN THE MIRROR
And identify the INTENT
Of our hearts


And then CHOOSE the way
We think is RIGHT


JUDGING WHAT IS RIGHT


“For the word
Of the LORD
Is RIGHT and true


He is faithful
In all he does” Psalm 33:4


“Kings take pleasure
In honest lips


They VALUE the one
Who speaks what is RIGHT” Proverbs 16:13


“NOT at all!
Let God be true=and
EVERY human being a liar


As it is written


'So that you
May be PROVED RIGHT
When you speak


And prevail
When you JUDGE'” Romans 3:4


Dear Lord=help us ALWAYS
To know=and be able
To JUDGE
What is RIGHT in this world


Dear Lord=
HELP US to not only be ABLE
To judge what is right
But also=to do IT

It is a TOUGH WORLD
That we live in=
Things happen-


That throw us OFF BALANCE
In today's world


We need to STAY GROUNDED
We need to
Stay ROOTED
We need to keep on
HANGING ON TO GOD'S LOVE


“That you
ROOTED AND GROUNDED in love
May have strength........


To know
The love of Christ
That surpasses knowledge


So that you may be FILLED
With all the FULLNESS
Of God” Ephesians 3:17-18, 19


WHEN we are off balance
In life
When we are SURROUNDED
By the CHAOS
Of this world


Go BACK and READ
This passage from Ephesians


And STAY rooted and grounded
In God's love
Keep on HANGING ON
To the LOVE OF GOD


“So then
Just as your received Christ
Jesus as LORD


Continue to LIVE your lives
In him-
ROOTED and built up
In him


Strengthened in the faith
As you were taught
And overflowing with THANKFULNESS” Colossians 2:6-7


“Therefore=put on
The FULL ARMOR of God


So that
When the day of EVIL COMES
You may be able
To stand your GROUND


And after you have
Done everything to stand” Ephesians 6:13


I keep on
HANGING ON TO GOD'S LOVE
For evil days=evil happenings
Are all AROUND US

To the revelation
Of GOD'S PRESENCE in
The here and NOW


HANGING on to
GOD'S LOVE
Hanging on
To the PRESENCE of my God
And Jesus


“You make known to me
The path of life

With joy in your PRESENCE

At your right hand” Psalm 16:11


“HOW can we thank God
Enough for you
In RETURN for all the joy


We have
In the PRESENCE of our God

Dear BELOVED Lord=
THANK YOU for showing us
Your love
