Did you ever stop and
Think as the STARS as
BEACONS OF HOPE?


The SAME is true
Of KIND ACTS of LOVE
In this world


They are BEACONS OF HOPE too=
And neither the stars=
Nor these KIND ACTS of love
Are ever FORGOTTEN


“Look up
At the sky
And count the STARS
If you can


Just so.........=shall
Your descendants be” Genesis 15:5


These words REFER
To the PROMISE of
Countless members


Who will
Eventually EXPAND Abraham's family


And maybe it REFERS
To us=and
OUR FAMILY MEMBERS
Of love too


Because our family members
Though gone=will NEVER
BE FORGOTTEN either


We will have a large
BEAUTIFUL FAMILY in this world
Just like Abraham
Just like Jesus
Just like the stars


That will
NEVER BE FORGOTTEN


“You have FORGOTTEN
God your Savior
You have


Not remembered
The ROCK=your fortress


Therefore=though you set out
The finest plants
And plant imported vines........” Isiah 17:10


“Are not five sparrows
Sold for two pennies?


Yet NOT one of them
Is FORGOTTEN by GOD” Luke 12:6


Yes=we don't forget our
God=and our God does
Not forget us or
OUR FAMILY


“WHY my soul
Are you downcast?
Why so disturbed
Within me?


Put your HOPE IN GOD
For I will
Yet praise him
My SAVIOR=and my God” Psalm 42:5


In the HEART AND MEMORY
Of God
We are=our FAMILY IS


Jut like Abraham's descendants
Just like the STARS=
BEACONS OF HOPE


And NEVER FORGOTTEN or wasted


And like thousands of STARS=
Our KIND ACTS OF LOVE
Are NEVER FORGOTTEN


And bring us
BLESSING UPON BLESSING
To be SHARED
With the universe=and our family
As well as ABRAHAM'S FAMILY


In Jesus' name and in the name of our ALL LOVING FATHER=who is KING OF THE UNIVERSE

AN IRISH SAYING




May those who love us, love us
And those who don’t love us,

THE LIFE STORY OF SAINT PATRICK




There has been much controversy
Surrounding the life of Saint Patrick
Both as to what he did
And what he didn’t do


Patrick was British by birth
He lived during the fifth century
His father was on the town council
And was a deacon
His grandfather was a priest


When he was young
He was captured by Irish pirates
And was made a slave for 6 years


During these years
Patrick began to pray
And draw close to God
Which was in contrast to his earlier years
When he “knew NOT the true God”


After the 6 years
He escaped or was freed
And did some traveling
But almost starved to death


Patrick returned home to his family
A changed man
And trained to become a priest


After some contact with the Papacy
Patrick succeeded Palladius
To be the first bishop of the Irish
To believe in Christ


Patrick worked principally in Northern Ireland
Organizing the church
And had many missionary journeys
From there


Patrick was not especially learned
But lived with a sincere simplicity
And deep pastoral care


He worked to abolish paganism and idolatry
And made no distinction
Among classes of people
HE LOVED ALL


He himself was ready and willing
To accept imprisonment and death
For his FAITH IN CHRIST


Because of being a slave and fugitive
He learned to completely trust God


The historical Patrick is much different
Than the legendary Patrick
And much more interesting


He DID NOT convert Ireland single-handedly
In fact---it took MANY evangelists
And many generations to accomplish


But make no mistake
He was the PRIMARY INSTRUMENT of God
In getting it all started


He remains the most popular Saint
From Ireland
And he is Ireland’s patron
To this day


His cult spread form Ireland to Europe
In the middle ages
And in modern times
To the United States and Australia
Where it still flourishes on his feast day

SAYING GOODBYE


Saying GOODBYE to others
IS one of the HARDEST things
To do in this world


I STILL miss my mom and dad
Who have BOTH left this world
IT was NOT easy to
Say goodbye


And it was not easy to
Say goodbye to my FAMILY
And FRIENDS


When I MOVED from up NORTH
To down here
In FLORIDA


“Moses spoke to the people
Saying='this day the Lord
Your God


Commands you to observe
These statutes and decrees


Be careful=then
To observe them
With all your heart


And with
ALL YOUR SOUL'” Deuteronomy 26:16


The book of Deuteronomy
Is said to BE
MOSES' FAREWELL LETTER
To the Israelites


Moses KNOWS that they
Have to GO ON
Without him


And he INSTRUCTS them
Over and over on
How to proceed


What PARENT couldn't IDENTIFY
With Moses=when they
Are saying GOODBYE
To their children


They=the parents=want their
CHILDREN to have the GOOD LIFE
As they have
PREPARED them
For the journey


SAYING GOODBYE
Is never easy


“See I am
Sending an ANGEL
AHEAD of you


To guide you
Along the way


And to bring you
To the place
I have PREPARED” Exodus 23:20


“However as it is written
'What no eye has seen
What no ear
Has heard


And what no human mind
Has conceived---------


The things GOD has PREPARED
For those who LOVE HIM” 1 Corinthians 2:9


Moses wanted his people
To have a SUCCESSFUL LIFE=and
OUR PARENTS want us to
Have a successful life too


And they PREPARED US
For it=in life


If we do that-
LIVE the good life
Our parents have=
Moses has
Done their job


ALL we have to do
Is LOVE ONE ANOTHER

From the beginning


I ask that we

Saying GOODBYE to my parents
Was not easy


But I am happy LOVING
My SISTERS=and my FAMILY

LIVING IN A BETTER WORLD


Throughout time
EVEN in the old testament
Prophets came
On behalf of God


SOME really were sent
From God-like Jeremiah-Isaiah-
Daniel-and many others


BUT many were false prophets
Saying that they were sent by God


They were actually bringing
FALSE truths and lies-
Just telling the people
What they wanted to hear


“Your prophets
Had before you
False and specious visions


They did not lay bare
Your guilt
To avert your fate


They beheld for you
In vision
False and misleading portents” Lamentations 2:14


Today it is the politicians
Telling us
What we want to hear


And we hear it
From the advertisers-
It is ENTICING


Who doesn't want to live
In a better world?
Who doesn't want to be
Richer-healthier-and more attractive?


BUT the ONLY WAY
To live in a truly better world


IS to live the message
Of God
LIVE the message of Jesus Christ


That is the REAL and TRUE way
To truly build a better world


“He rules the world
In righteousness


He judges the peoples
With equity” Psalm 9:8


“You are the LIGHT
Of the world


A town built on a hill
CANNOT be hidden” Matthew 5:14


“The God
Who MADE the world
And everything in it


Is the Lord
Of heaven and earth


And does NOT live in temples
BUILT by human hands” Acts 17:24


LIVING in a better world
Built by God and Jesus


The gospel-the MESSAGE given
To us by Jesus
PROMISES us change


But not without effort


He-the Lord-asks us to commit
Ourselves-to TRANSFORM ourselves-
To actually make ourselves into better people
BY LIVING THE GOSPEL


The Lord calls us
To the hard work of CHANGE


Dear Lord-PLEASE help us-we PRAY
To really and truly-
CHANGE the things that we can


So that we can ALL
Truly live


IN A BETTER WORLD

WHEN I was a younger=
Much more IMMATURE person=
I TRIED holding a grudge
A couple of times


I have to tell you-
It nearly ate me
Up alive


A HEARTFELT RECONCILIATION
Helps everyone=don't be too big
To apologize=and don't be
Too big to accept
Any apologies


Be a LOVING=
Be a forgiving person
Be mature


“All the ways
Of the Lord
Are LOVING and faithful


Toward those
Who KEEP the demands
Of the covenant” Psalm 25:10


“Keep on LOVING one another
As brothers and sisters” Hebrews 13:1


“This is how we know
That we love
The children of God


By LOVING GOD
And carrying out his commands” 1 John 5:2


Jesus tells us to HEAL
Those relationships that
Are wounded


DON'T cast away
Your brothers and sisters
In God=and of Jesus


I have seen people get so
ANGRY=and seen RIFTS last so
Many years=that the people
Involved=can't even REMEMBER
How it all got started


HEAL those relationships=BE A
LOVING-FORGIVING PERSON


“But you
Are a FORGIVING God


Gracious and compassionate
Slow to anger
And abounding in love” Nehemiah 9:17


“Lord our God
You answered them


You were to Israel
A FORGIVING GOD


Though you punished
Their misdeeds” Psalm 99:8


My dear FRIENDS=
For the HEALING of
Your very own heart


BE A LOVING-FORGIVING PERSON=
And do NOT
Carry grudges


It is the ONLY WAY
To live
Do that-offer your gift
And HEAL

GOD BREATHS LIFE INTO US


God breathed life into me
The first time
Om January 19^th, 1955-


UNFORTUNATELY-I didn't
Always get it right


And FORTUNATELY for me
He BREATHED LIFE into me
For the second time in a life
And death situation
That began in January of 1977


And still exists today
As a chronic condition


God GAVE me eternal life-
Through his Jesus-and he
GAVE it to you too


“........The Lord
FORMED man out of the clay
Of the ground


And blew into his nostrils
THE BREATH OF LIFE
And so man became
A living being” Genesis 2:7


It is-of course-God-
And his Son-Jesus
Who CONTROL life and death
In this world
And the next


But there ARE times
One man can HELP another man
Physically-spiritually-and emotionally


HELP each other
With the breath of life
UNDER God's control


ONE WAY we can help another
IS with mouth-to-mouth resuscitation
Or even by donating
A body part


Emotionally=by keeping on ENCOURAGING
And spiritually by PRAYING for one another


MIRACLES come in ALL shapes and sizes
But it is God and Jesus
Who ULTIMATELY control
All of them


It is God and Jesus
Who BREATHE LIFE into us


Life in this world and ETERNAL LIFE


“For with you
It is the FOUNTAIN of life
In your light-WE SEE the light” Psalm 36:9


“The fear of the Lord
Is a fountain of life


TURNING a person
From the snares of death” Proverbs 14:27


“As for you
See that what you have heard
From the beginning
REMAINS in you


If it does
You will also remain
In the SON-
And in the Father


And this is what
He PROMISED US-ETERNAL LIFE” 1 John 2:24-25


Our CHRISTIAN FAITH
Calls us to embrace
The TRUTH that there is NO DEATH


I TOTALLY believe that-DO YOU?


Our physical death
Is merely just a PASSAGE
From this earthly life


To the heavenly life
With God and Jesus


WHEN we breathe our last breath
In this life


God will draw NEAR
And breathe life into for us
For yet a SECOND TIME


God BREATHES LIFE into us
Yet again


And we will RISE AGAIN
To life

FACING OUR HUMANITY

FACING OUR HUMANITY


Jesus was=Jesus IS
The FACE OF HUMANITY=
He gave his life
For all of us


He did to others=
He did for others=what he
WISHED OTHERS would have
DONE for him


He took on their sins
He was the
GOLDEN RULE PERSONIFIED


“DO to others
Whatever you would
Have them DO to you


This is the LAW
And the prophets” Matthew 7:12


HUMANITY is a funny thing
Hypocrisy is a FUNNY THING=and
It can be
Downright embarrassing


The very thing
That we criticize others for=
We turn around and
DO IT OURSELVES


But NOT our Jesus=
He was the FACE
OF HUMANITY


But we have to
LOOK OURSELVES in the mirror
We have to
FACE OUR HUMANITY


“His purpose
Was to create in himself
ONE NEW HUMANITY
Out of the two


Thus making peace
And in one body
To reconcile both of them
To GOD=through the cross
By which he put
To death their hostility” Ephesians 2:15-16


“Since the children
Have flesh and blood
He too shared
IN THEIR HUMANITY


So that
By his death
He might break the power
Of him


Who HOLDS the power of death---------
That is the devil---------


And FREE those
Who all their lives
Were held in slavery
By their FEAR OF DEATH” Hebrews 2:14-15


Since Jesus was
BOTH God and man
He could FACE
His own humanity
And CONQUER IT


NOT so for us=
But for us=it
Is a GIFT
Just to NOTICE our humanity


To FACE it=and
To MOVE FORWARD


Yes it is DIFFICULT
To be self-righteous
And hold ourselves ABOVE=
WHEN we are truly
Looking at ourselves in the mirror


We just have to FACE our
Own HUMANITY


“Yet for our sake
We FACE death
All day long


We are considered
As sheep
To be slaughtered” Psalm 44:22


Yes=let us LOOK at ourselves
Let us LAUGH at ourselves=
And GROW IN COMPASSION
For our fellow man


And really and TRULY RECOGNIZE
Who Jesus was=and IS=
THE FACE OF HUMANITY
