Did you ever know
SOMETHING about our good=GREAT GOD?
He never works through
The great=he always CHOOSES
The poor and the LOWLY=
To work through
Today we celebrate ANOTHER
Feast of Mary=OUR LADY
OF GUADALUPE
"Blessed are you=daughter=
By the MOST HIGH GOD
ABOVE all the women
On earth"                                                                                                                             Judith 13:18
Our BLESSED MOTHER
APPEARED to people
All over the world
Today we celebrate the appearance
Of Mary=in Guadalupe, Mexico
Mary made her LOVE known
To many people of the world=
LIFTING up the lowly-
With a MOTHER'S LOVE
Today we commemorate
A REMARKABLE APPARITION=
Our Lady of Guadalupe=
DRESSED in the garb
Of a young Mayan woman=
She APPEARED to Saint Juan Diego
And helping to bring
A conversion
Of the NEW WORLD
OUR BLESSED MOTHER=
Appearing to the LOWLY
"Pride brings a person low
But the LOWLY in spirit
Gain honor"                                                                                                                                         Proverbs 29:23
"I live in a high
And holy place
But also with the one
Who is contrite
And LOWLY in spirit
To revive the spirit
Of the LOWLY
And to revive
The heart of the contrite"                                                                                                             Isaiah 57:15
At GUADALUPE
Mary did NOT APPEAR
To the high and the mighty
But to a SIMPLE
MAYAN PEASANT
By her examply=she
"Dispersed the arrogant........
But LIFTED UP THE LOWLY"                                                                                                            Luke 1:51-52
How BLESSED we are
To have such
A MERCIFUL=
And loving MOTHER
"Blessed are the MERCIFUL
For they
Will be SHOWN MERCY"                                                                                                               Matthew 5:7
"BE MERCIFUL to those
Who doubt=
Save others
By snatching them
From the fire........."                                                                                                                          Jude :22
Dear Lord=we PRAY
That LIKE MARY=and Jesus
You use us
To show the LOWLY=MERCY=
And LIFT THEM UP
In Jesus'  name=and in the name of our EVER MERCIFUL FATHER=and Mary=
The merciful MOTHER OF JESUS

PLACING OUR HOPE IN GOD!

PLACING OUR HOPE IN GOD!
Today we have a VERSE
From Isaiah
Probably ONE of the most
Famous verses=of any by the LORD=
One of my favorites
"They that HOPE in the Lord
Will RENEW their strength
They will soar
As with eagle's wings"                                                                                                                          Isaiah 40:31
What a great line
What a great VIRTUE=
HOPE IS
Hope is the virtue
That carries our FAITH
And love into the FUTURE
The future is scary
IT is UNCERTAIN=
That is WHY
WE buy insurance
But what do we
PLACE our future hope in?
Certainly not ourselves=
NOT in a guru=
Not in a church
We place OUR HOPE
IN OUR LORD
"Why my soul
Are you downcast?
Why so disturbed
Within me?
PUT YOUR HOPE IN GOD=
For I will
Praise him
My Savior=and MY GOD"                                                                                                                        Psalm 43:5
"There is surely
A FUTURE HOPE for you
And your HOPE
Will not be cut off"                                                                                                                           Proverbs 23:18
"For in THIS HOPE
We were saved
But HOPE that is een
Is no hope at all
Who HOPES FOR
What they already have?
But if we HOPE
For what we
Do not yet have
We waith for it patiently"                                                                                                          Romans 8:24-25
PLACING OUR HOPE IN GOD!
We PLACE our hope in God
Like an EAGLE
How does the eagle soar?
EFFORTLESSLY=and with strength
And perseverance=and grace
These are QUALITIES that
We have too=if we place
OUR HOPE in God
And what quality is there
That is better than PERESEVERANCE=
The ability
To withstand all things
"Consider it pure joy
My brothers and sisters
Whenever you face trials
Of many kinds
Because you know that
The testing of your faith
PRODUCES PERSEEVERANCE"                                                                                                     James 1:2-3
My dear LOVING GOD=help us
To PLACE all OUR HOPE IN YOU
And give us the strength=
Perseverance=and grace to HELP
Bring about a BETTER FUTURE
Than which WE ever hoped
PLACING OUR HOPE IN YOU DEAR LORD!

WELCOMING HIM FOREVER

WELCOMING HIM FOREVER


Don't you just hate it=
The stores seem like
They are STARTING to prepare
For Christmas-
AS early as Halloween


But how about Isaiah=
The POET OF ADVENT=
He is hanging lights
And trimming the tree=600 years
BEFORE the big day


“Comfort=give comfort
To my people
Says your God” Isaiah 40:1


And on and on and on=
“Speak tenderly to Jerusalem” Isaiah 40:2
“Make straight in the wasteland-
A highway for our GOD” Isaiah 40:3


Yes we are to prepare
Ourselves=for the COMING of
The Lord=this Advent
And every Advent


We need to MAKE ROOM
In our hearts
For the coming of the LORD


Yes WELCOME our Lord FOREVER=
Every day this Advent and
Every day of OUR LIVES


Make room for the COMING
Of Jesus=CELEBRATE!


“Whoever WELCOMES
One of these little children
In my name
WELCOMES ME


And whoever WELCOME ME
Does not welcome me
But the one
Who sent me” Mark 9:37


“........and you will
Receive a RICH WELCOME
Into the eternal kingdom
Of our Lord
And Savior Jesus Christ” 2 Peter 1:11


“Anyone who WELCOMES them
Shares in
Their wicked work” 2 John :11


Yes we need to PREPARE
For the Lord=this Advent
As Christmas approaches


We need to prepare for
The Lord
With self-examination
And repentance


But Advent is NOT
A gloomy time=
It is a JOYFUL TIME


And no matter how
FAR we have STRAYED
From Jesus=he will come
And FIND US


The question is=is WHEN he finds us
Will he find a WELCOMING HEART?


Will he find a JOYFUL HEART=
Just waiting for JESUS?


“Worship the Lord
With gladness


Come before him
With JOYFUL SONGS” Psalm 100:2


“May your father and mother
Rejoice=May she who
Gave you birth
BE JOYFUL” Proverbs 23:25


This Advent PREPARE ROOM
For the Lord


And be JOYFUL-
As you wait for him-
LIKE ISAIAH

FULL OF GRACE

FULL OF GRACE


Today we celebrate
The feast of the
IMMACULATE CONCEPTION of
The Blessed Virgin Mary


She was indeed
FULL OF GRACE=
“Hail Mary=full of GRACE.......”


“Mary said='Behold-I am
The handmaid of the Lord


May it be done to me
According to your word'” Luke 1:38


Mary was without sin
From the VERY BEGINNING


Looking at an infant=it would
Be EASY to know that an INFANT
Is WITHOUT the stain of sin


But as we grow older=with
The PASSAGE of years
Sin gets a hold of us


But if we STAY CLOSE to God=
IF we pray to God and Jesus
For the HOLY SPIRIT


We can FIND GRACE
ONCE AGAIN


NOT completely full of grace
Like MARY


But we can FIND some grace
To SUSTAIN US
Through this world
And our lives


“You are
The most excellent
Of men


And your lips
Have been anointed
WITH GRACE


Since God
Has blessed you forever” Psalm 45:2


“With great power
The apostles continued


To testify to
The Resurrection
Of the Lord Jesus


And GOD'S GRACE
Was so powerfully at work
In them all


That there was
No needy persons among them” Acts 4:33-34


“But by the GRACE OF GOD
I am what I am


And his GRACE to me
Was not without effect” 1 Corinthians 15:10


It was through
God's favor and grace
That Mary KNEW
No sin


Yet she still knew all the BURDENS
Of being human=
She knew sorrow=worry=anxiety=
And ALL the burdens
Of the human heart


We must try to EMULATE Mary
We must follow
The Spirit of God


We must live by FAITH
And walk with ENDURANCE
Through all the years of LIFE=
Trying to obtain SOME GRACE


“The GRACE of our Lord
Jesus Christ
BE with your spirit
Brothers and sisters=AMEN” Galatians 6:18


We will NEVER
Be free of sin
Like Mary


But we MUST trust God
And his goodness=and try to
OBTAIN GRACE through our lives


In Jesus' name=and in the name of the FATHER=and our Blessed Mother=FULL OF GRACE

PRAYING FOR JUSTICE IN OUR WORLD


A lot of things
GO WRONG in this world=
A lot of things
Go wrong
In our PERSONAL LIVES


It seems as though
Life is NOT FAIR=
Praying that we RECEIVE JUSTICE


If not in this world
At least=from GOD=praying
That we receive MERCY
If not from others
At least from God


“O God= with your judgment
Endow the king


And with your JUSTICE
The king's son” Psalm 72:1


MOST of the 150 psalms
Are written by David=
But this one psalm 72
Is written by Solomon


This psalm is a religious
Prayer for the IMPROVEMENT
Of government for the country


God knows=our country
Needs that=as well as
DOES every other country


Wouldn't it be great
If our modern day leaders
EXPRESSED CONVICTIONS and
Objectives like Solomon?


Before Solomon took over
His reign=he renounced his desire
For glory=fame= and riches


He prayed only FOR WISDOM
And to rule honestly
And faithfully


PRAYING for our leaders=
Praying for JUSTICE
In this world


“Arise Lord
In your anger


Rise up
Against the rage
Of my enemies


Awake my God
DECREE JUSTICE” Psalm 7:6


“It is not good
To be partial
To the wicked


And so deprive
The innocent of JUSTICE” Proverbs 18:5


“........but with righteousness
He will judge the needy


WITH JUSTICE
He will give decisions
For the poor
Of the earth” Isaiah 11:4


I wish all kings-queens-
Princes-and princesses


Would publicly profess
And produce qualities
Of good judgment
And justice
Like is in psalm 72


“For he has set
A day
When he will judge
The world


WITH JUSTICE
By the man
He has appointed


He has given proof
Of this=to everyone


By raising him
From the dead” Acts 17:31


And so today
We PRAY for our NATION
And ALL the nations
Of the world


To bring goodness
To the world
And FOR GOODNESS
In all of our hearts


In the names of Jesus=and our FATHER=and OUR EVER JUST GOD

THE REASON FOR THE SEASON


Before I left Pittsburgh
You couldn't say
The word “CHRISTMAS” on tv


“Happy Sparkle Season”
Hardly has the same effect--------
At least for me


How quickly we forget


A miniature cre'che
Identical to the one in Rome
Had to be moved
From the government courthouse
To outside a corporation


How quickly we forget


Haven't you heard
JESUS IS THE REASON
FOR THE SEASON


Without Jesus
You would be getting
NOT one single gift this year


Putting up my decorations
And my Christmas tree
Trying to remember-trying not to forget
JESUS IS THE REASON
For the kindness and goodwill
He is the REASON
FOR THE SEASON


Trying to remember
The love, the forgiveness, and kindness
That he brought to us-in this world
Trying to remember-his name-the name of Jesus Christ
Trying to let him know
That it all
Wasn't for not
That it all-wasn't in vain


Let us put the letter “C”
Back into Christmas
Lat us put the name CHRIST
Back into Christmas


It is not so hard to remember
It really isn't---all we have to do
Is take one long look at the CROSS


JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

FACING THE DANGERS OF THIS WORLD

FACING THE DANGERS OF THIS WORLD


We live in a
Very DANGEROUS WORLD=
Where anything can happen
To us-
At any time


We need to REMAIN
Courageous and strong
And face up to
The world=IN FAITH


We can FALL BACK
On our faith=
On the words
Of the LORD=
Try reading the 27^th psalm
To BOLSTER your faith


“The Lord
Is my light and
My salvation


Whom should I fear?” Psalm 27:1


There is much to FEAR
In this world=
Fearing for our SAFETY=
There are those


In this world
Who INTEND to do us harm=
And then there is ALWAYS
The unintentional harm
From accidents


We can find safety
IN the Lord
We can find safety
In the WORDS OF GOD


“In peace
I will lie down
And sleep


For you alone Lord
Make me DWELL IN SAFETY” Psalm 4:8


“The name
Of the Lord
Is a fortified tower


The righteous run to it
AND ARE SAFE” Proverbs 18:10


Psalm 27 was written in
A very much more DANGEROUS AGE=
Even more dangerous than
Our own


But faith gives us
AN INNER SAFETY=
The love of God
Gives us
A DEEP inner safety


And a DAILY relationship
With Jesus=PROTECTS us from
All types of dangerous situations


JESUS knows all too well
What it means to FACE
The dangers of this world


He faced plotting-betrayals-
Torture-and death on the CROSS


A DAILY RELATIONSHIP with him
Can KEEP us going-
To face whatever dangers
This world may bring us


“I remain
CONFIDENT of this


I will see
The GOODNESS of the Lord
In the land
Of the LIVING” Psalm 27:13


So hang on to
THE FATHER=
Hang on to Jesus
With all of YOUR MIGHT


And he=they
Will see you through
The DANGERS of this world


PROTECTING YOU
Every step of the way


“Love always PROTECTS=always trusts=
Always hopes=always perseveres
LOVE NEVER FAILS” 1 Corinthians 13:7-8


In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS PROTECTIVE FATHER
