HELD TOGETHER BY JESUS OUR LORD

I have been READING the BIBLE-
EVERY DAY for years=I have
Two bibles completely FALLING APART=
I am currently working
On a third

But I REMEBER the days
WHEN not only my bible
Was falling apart=but SO WAS I

Jesus has NOT only kept my
BIBLES together-from falling completely apart=
BUT ALSO ME

“THROUGH Jesus the WHOLE structure
Ia HELD TOGETHER-
And grows into a temple=
SACRED in the LORD” Ephesians 2:21

There is an OLD PROVERB that says=
“A bible that is FALLING APART=
Usually belongs to-
SOMEONE who isn't”

I think I am HOLDING together-
Pretty well now=THANKS to Jesus
OUR LORD

HELD TOGETHER
BY JESUS OUR LORD!

“As long as MOSES-
HELD UP his hands

The Israelites were winning=
But whenever=
He LOWERED his hands

The Amalekites were winning” Exodus 17:11

“ALL day long
I have HELD OUT my hands
To an obstinate people

Who walk in ways NOT good
PURSUING their own imaginations
--------------” Isaiah 65:2

“But CONCERNING Israel-he says=
'All day LONG-I have
HELD OUT my hands
To a disobedient and OBSTINATE PEOPLE” Romans 10:21

Yes=it is TRUE=it is JESUS=
Our Lord=that HOLDS us together

I DON'T CLAIM= to have my
Whole life together=but I would be
A lot WORSE OFF if I
Didn't read my bible=SAY my ROSARY=
And write my poems

All of that=helps me
STAY CLOSE to God

Saint Paul COMPARES Jesus to the capstone=
To the CORNERSTONE-
Of a building=that PIECE
That HOLDS it all together

“The STONE
The builders rejected
Has BECOME the cornerstone” Psalm 118:22

“Jesus said to them=
'Have you
NEVER read in the SCRIPTURES=

'The stone the BUILDERS rejected
Has become the CORNERSTONE

The Lord has done this-
And it is MARVELOUS
In our eyes'” Matthew 21:42

YES sir friends=the LORD
HOLDS us all together

So WHEN we are
FEELING BATTERED=when our lives
Are in PIECES

Let us PICK UP our bibles
And PRAY to the Lord=

“HOLD US TOGETHER=we hand the
PIECES of our LIVES to you”

In the name of the LORD=Jesus=our LORD=
And his most HEAVENLY FATHER

A LITTLE BIT CONFUSING I THINK

A LITTLE BIT CONFUSING I THINK

As human beings=I think we are ALL just
A little bit CONFUSING

We mean well=we SAY things perfectly=
But our actions sometimes BELIE
What we just said

This APPIES to all of us=and I THINK
The GREAT Saint Paul=said it BEST
“For I do not do
The GOOD I want

But do the evil
I do NOT WANT” Romans 7:19

YES=as human beings=we are NOT
Made simply=our WORDS and actions are
SOMETINES in direct opposition

We are CONFUSING=we are COMPLEX PEOPLE=
Yet MANY of us are STILL GOOD

All of us MESS UP
In this life=from time
To time=and it is NOT ON PURPOSE

It is NOT only about
Our morality=but it is about
OUR RELATIONSHIP with God and Jesus

OUR FAITH is about DOING
The RIGHT THING=but sometimes
We do the WRONG thing
AGAIN and again

Paul is PAINFULLY HONEST=knowing that
LOVING Jesus has NOT STOPPED him
From MESSING UP

I BELIEVE most of us are TRYING=
WE=are just people=and
WONDERFULLY COMPLEX

We just NEED to be HONEST
With God=and HONEST with ourselves-and
ASK ourselves the tough questions

“But they NEED NOT-
Account for the money
Entrusted to them

Because they are HONEST
In their dealings” 2 KINGS 22:7

“TEACHING you to be HONEST
And speak the truth

So that you bring BACK
Truthful reports
To those you SERVE?” Proverbs 22:21

YES-we are BASICALLY
GOOD human beings-
We WANT to do the right things

But we do NOT always
Do so-as Paul says

But KEEP trying to do good
FOR ALL=and we will be
And LIVE in a right relationship
With Jesus

“TASTE and see
That the Lord is GOOD

BLESSED is the ONE
Who takes REFUGE in him” Psalm 34:8

Yes=LIKE PAUL said=we do
NOT ALWAYS do
The GOOD that we want to do

We are just a little-bit-CONFUSING-
I think=and WONDERFULLY MADE
And COMPLEX by the Lord OUR GOD

In the name of Jesus OUR LORD=and
HIS MOST HEAVENLY FATHER

FINDING PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING IN THIS WORLD

FINDING PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING
IN THIS WORLD

It is a CRAZY-mixed-up world=
That is a FACT=and
FINDING PEACE and understanding
From others In this world
Is DIFFICULT

But we CAN find it in Jesus
And in God=RIGHT?

Yet Jesus said:
“Do you think that I have
COME to establish PEACE
On this earth?

No-I tell you-but rather division” Luke 12:51

Maybe OUR CONCEPT of peace
Is NOT CHIST'S concept of peace

Maybe we have MISTAKEN
Faith for certainty

MAYBE what it just comes down to
=IS TRUSTING God and Jesus

IF we can't find peace and understanding
In this world=WHERE can we find it?

Oh-but WE CAN=Christ Jesus
Tells us=that in him we CAN FIND
A PEACE that TRANSCENDS all understanding

Maybe we have mistaken PEACE for
Comfort=for lack of division=and for
FULFILLMENT of worldly needs

But CHRIST'S PEACE comes despite
all of that=whether we have them or not

“LOVE and faithfulness
MEET together-
Righteousness and PEACE
Kiss each other” Psalm 85:10

“And the PEACE OF GOD
Which TRANSCENDS all understanding
Will GUARD your hearts
And your minds
IN Christ Jesus” Philippians 4:7

“MAKE every effort
To LIVE in PEACE with everyone
And to be HOLY

Without holiness
NO ONE will see the LORD” Hebrews 12:14

You will NEVER find peace
In MATERIAL POSSESSIONS-in money-
Or through anyone else

But you CANFIND peace and UNDERSTANDING
Despite the things of
This world

In God and in CHRIST Jesus=
Jesus understands you=for He
UNDERSTANDS this world

He went through it all
Just the SAME as you and I

“GIVE me understanding
So that I
May KEEP your law

And obey it
With ALL MY HEART” Psalm 119:34

“We know also
That the SON OF GOD
Has come

And has GIVEN us UNDERSTANDING

So that we MAY also KNOW
Him who is TRUE
…...................” 1 John 5:20

Dear Lord=we KNOW that
We will NEVER FIND PEACE
In-or through this world

But we will FIND OUR
PEACE and UNDERSTANDING in you

In the name of Jesus OUR SAVIOR=and his MOST
HEAVENLY FATHER

SENSING GOD'S PRESENCE NOW

SENSING GOD'S PRESENCE NOW

Life is indeed FULL of SURPRISES
We never know
What is coming NEXT

Sometimes-though-we don't
Even RECOGNIZE the surprises
When they DO COME

Every day the Lord REVEALS
His PRESENCE in the people=
And places=and things around us

SURPRISE-surprise-surprise-
Do you recognize him?

“BE PREPARED”=Jesus says=
Or you will MISS the
SURPRISING WAYS=in which the Lord
Reveals himself

“You also must be PREPARED
For at an hour
You do NOT EXPECT
The SON OF MAN will come” Luke 12:40

SENSING God's PRESENCE now=
Sensing God's presence in the people-
In the places-and
In the things AROUND US

WHERE & WHEN
Will we SEE God's presence TODAY?
And IN WHO?

“For WHAT you have done
I will always PRAISE YOU

In the PRESENCE
Of your faithful people

And I will HOPE
In your name
For your name is GOOD” Psalm 52:9

“How can we THANK GOD enough
For you in RETURN

For all the JOY we have
In the PRESENCE of our God
Because of you?” 1 Thessalonians 3:9

“This is how we KNOW
That we BELONG
To the truth

And how we set our HEARTS
At REST in his PRESENCE” 1 John 3:19

I FIND the BEST way
To START the day is
WITH PRAYER

By READING the BIBLE
And saying my ROSARY=
Which I do EVERY DAY

This helps me to be RELAXED
And have FEWER worries and distractions
As I MOVE
Throughout my day

I find myself and MY PEACE
IN GOD=and by LOVING GOD=
And by recognizing others

“The Lord
GIVES strength to his people
The Lord
BLESSES his people with PEACE” Psalm 29:11

“Deceit is in the hearts
Of those who plot evil

But those who PROMOTE PEACE-
Have JOY” Proverbs 12:20

I find my peace in GOD'S PRESENCE=
GOD'S peace TRANSCENDS the
Distractions of this world

SENSING GOD'S PRESENCE NOW=
TURN to God and find peace

It is NOT only at life's end
That we find God=
The Lord comes to us DAILY

He waits for us PATIENTLY to notice
His presence NOW=in the people=
Things=and PLACES around us

In the NAMES of Jesus=and HIS MOST HEAVENLY FATHER

BE PREPARED=FOR WHERE AND WHEN

BE PREPARED=FOR WHERE & WHEN

“BE PREPARED”-is the motto
Of the boy scouts of AMERICA

And we FIND a version of it
In today's GOSPEL (Luke 12:35-38)

WHERE & WHEN is the LORD coming back?
In short=no one knows-
But we MUST be prepared=for
WE NEVER KNOW

“........Light your lamps and BE
Like servants who
AWAIT their master's RETURN
….....” Luke 12:35-36

BE PREPARED=for we know NOT
When-where-or how

“You PREPARE a table
Before me-
In the PRESENCE of my enemies

You anoint my head with oil
My cup OVERFLOWS” Psalm 23:5

“For we are GOD'S HANDIWORK
Created in Christ Jesus
To do GOOD WORKS

Which God PREPARED in advance
For us to do” Ephesians 2:10

“PREACH the word-
Be PREPARED in season
And out of season

Correct-rebuke-and ENCOURAGE-
With great patience
And careful instruction” 2 Timothy 4:2

ARE YOU READY? Are you PREPARED
For the COMING of the Lord?
Are you ready for
Where and when?

There are so MANY distractions
In life---will you be ready
WHEN Jesus CALLS?

Where do you need HELP-DAILY-
In your life? With generosity-
With service-with COMPASSION-or maybe
You NEED to LOVE God and
Others just a little more

How is your PRAYER LIFE?
WHERE do you NEED just
A little more HELP?

“In my distress-I CALLED-
To the LORD
I called-to my God
For HELP

From his temple
He heard my voice

My CRY-came before him-
Into his ears” Psalm 18:6

“I do NOT hide
Your righteousness-in my HEART

I speak
Of your FAITHFULNESS
And your SAVING help

I do NOT CONCEAL
Your love-and your faithfulness” Psalm 40:10

BE PREPARED for the COMING
Of the Lord=in season and out=
SAY your prayers daily=be PREPARED
Every day of your life

Are you LIVING SOULFULLY?
What STARVES your soul?

Your soul is WHERE
THE LORD RESIDES=PREPARE it
For him

LIGHT a lamp there=and
ALWAYS be ready and prepared
For the COMING OF THE LORD

GOD KNOWS US=BY OUR NAMES

GOD KNOWS US=BY OUR NAMES

FAME is a wonderful thing=
EVERYONE likes=maybe=even LOVES
To be acknowledged=for
WHO they are=and what they do

Everyone wants
THEIR 15 minutes of FAME

But for me
What is really important
Is that GOD KNOWS ME
By name

He knows EVERYTHING about me
About the INNER workings
Of WHO I am=of
Who you are

It matters to me=I HOPE
It matters to you too

“I have called you
By YOUR NAME
Giving you a title
-Though you knew me not” Isaiah 45:4

GOD knows us BY OUR NAMES

YES!-far BEYOND any fleeting
Moments of “FAME”
The fact that God
KNOWS us by name

PRODUCES a deep and LASTING JOY
That comes from knowing
That we are indeed KNOWN
By the CREATOR of the UNIVERSE

“For his anger
LASTS only a moment

But his FAVOR=LASTS
A lifetime-
Weeping- may STAY
For the night

But REJOICING
COMES in the morning” Psalm 30:5

“And if what was transitory
Came with GLORY

How much GREATER
IS the glory-
Of that which LASTS” 2 Corinthians 3:11

Yes=FAME in this world
Is fleeting=but GOD knows our NAME
And our glory in him
LASTS FOREVER

He=God=reaches out
And TAPS us on the shoulder
And says:

“I know you=YOU ARE MINE=and
I have a title for you=
My sons and daughters=

BELOVED”

Yes God LOVES US
For ALL of eternity

“About Benjamin-he said-

'LET the BELOVED of the Lord
Rest SECURE in him

For he SHIELDS him-
All DAY long

And the ONE=the Lord LOVES
Rests between his shoulders'” Deuteronomy 33:12

Yes my friends=
Fame is FLEETING

But God KNOWS US=in glory
ALL the days of our lives-
And for ALL OF ETERNITY

GOD KNOWS US AND LOVES US!

Dear Lord=Please let us
HEAR your VOICE today and
Sense your touch

As you REACH out to us
And CALL US by our NAMES

In the names of Jesus our LORD and HIS
MOST HEAVENLY FATHER
