“An Angel of Mercy”

 

 

After my first surgery, when I had the gangrene, the peritonitis, and a 108 degree temperature,

There was a beautiful young nurse-to-be helping to take care of me.  She had long brown

Hair, she was beautiful, and just a couple of months from being an actual nurse.

 

Her name was Linda Mc…., and she was kind.  When she had free time, she would come in,

Sit by me, and hold my hand.  We would watch tennis together.  I will never forget the crush

She had on the tennis player Bjorn Borg.

 

When I was doing better for a few months following my surgery, I stopped down the

Hospital once to see her.  I also tried to call her a couple of times.  I never did see or speak

To her again.  Wherever you are, Linda Mc…., thank you.  This one is for you.

THE GREAT FREEDOM!

 

THE GREAT FREEDOM!

 

Like the STORY GOES=

There are ONLY two beings

That ever died

To give us FREEDOM

 

The American soldier

And our Lord and Savior

Jesus Christ

 

What a PRIVILEGE=that it is

TO LIVE in this country=

What a privilege it is

To LIVE in this country

With the GUIDANCE of the Holy Father God

And my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

 

Freedom=THE GREAT FREEDOM!

“…….the little girl AROSE”                                                                                                    Matthew 9:25

 

Today we CELEBRATE

FREEDOM in our country=

Today we celebrate

That all men=ARE CREATED EQUAL

And have the SAME OPPORTUNITY

 

Regardless of race-or gender-

Age-or health=whether born

Or NOT yet born

 

And we celebrate

That Jesus died for us

FOR US ALL

No matter who we are

 

THE GREAT FREEDOM!

Of our country=The Great Freedom

Of our God=what a gift

Whether we believe=or not

CELEBRATE!

 

“Serve the Lord

With fear=and CELEBRATE

His rule with trembling”                                                                                                        Psalm 2:11

 

I think our nation’s FORMULA

Of liberty and equality=is a reflection

OF GOD’S GREAT DESIGN

 

On this 4^th of July=

May we GIVE THANKS

For this great nation=and give thanks

For the ultimate freedom

TO CHOOSE

 

THE GOD of our choice

Or to not worship

ANY God at all

 

But for me

GOD WILL ALWAYS BE

The Holy Father-

And his SON Jesus Christ=

And will be represented

Through the Holy Spirit

Through the Holy WORD OF GOD

THE GREAT FREEDOM!=of our lives

To choose

 

We are BLESSED=with this great country

THIS GREAT FREEDOM!

 

“…….that the creation itself

Will be liberated

From its bondage=to decay

 

And brought

INTO THE FREEDOM=and glory

Of the children of God”                                                                                                           Romans 8:21

 

“Now the Lord is the Spirit-

And where=the Spirit

Of the Lord is=

THERE IS FREEDOM”                                                                                                   2 Corinthians 3:17

 

Let us RECOGNIZE

THESE GREAT FREEDOMS!=alive

In our country

And IN OUR GOD

 

In today’s gospel

Jesus RAISES a little girl

From the dead=In him

WE ARE FULLY FREE!

I love you ALL!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS LIVING Holy Father God!

It’s gotten a bit frayed now

Its cotton culler’s faded see,

Aroun’ the edges, ah, well

Guess it’s a lot like me.

 

It’s been in the dooryard nigh’ on

Four generations, Lord knows,

Attached to the Ole Pole awavin’

Any way the wind blows.

 

The Ole’ Flag can still bring on

A glow of emotion, a sigh

When it snaps to an’ stretches out

Like cloth pinned to the sky.

 

Its culler’s once were carried with pride

Aroun’ the world just ‘bout everywhere

In theatres of war where heroes died

So that others would breathe free air.

 

I’ve seen it in the sunrise

Sil’vry dew hung on the bars,

An’ against the golden sunset

That bursts into blindin’ stars.

 

The Ole’ Flag, how proud it flies

Yet half-mast would befit it best,

When this last ol’e soldier dies

An’ goes to his LONG rest

SUFFERING

 

July 3^rd

 

“Suffering”

 

What do you do

With your suffering

 

What do you do

With your cross

 

In our Lord’s day

Capital punishment

Consisted of hanging

On a cross in front of everyone

 

Today it is the electric chair

 

But the essence

The true essence of the cross

Is anything

That causes

Anguish of the mind

Or desolation of the spirit

 

Is there something

In your life

Causing you

Anguish of the mind

Or desolation of the spirit

 

Heaven knows

There are many things

In today’s world

That causes

Anguish of the mind

And desolation of the spirit

 

But there is an answer

To this anguish and desolation

And the answer is

God and Christ

 

So

Do not suffer alone

Pick up

Your cross

And share it with

God and your neighbor

 

Jesus said

Pick up your cross

And come follow me

DO NOT SUFFER ALONE

A GRATEFUL HEART

“A Grateful Heart”

 

Oh Lord

You who

Have given us

So much

Give us one thing more

 

The gift

Of a grateful heart

 

In the Bible

Jesus tells the story

Of how

He healed 10 lepers

 

1 came back to thank him

What about us

Are we like the one

Or

Are we like the other 9

 

All we have

In this world

Comes from God

All we are

All we can ever become

Depends on God

 

What about us

Are we unreal

Are we selfish

Are we demanding

Are we proud and arrogant

 

Dear Lord

Please help us

To always be

Like the one leper

Who

Came back and said thank you

 

So finally Lord

We pray

You who have

Given us so much

Give us one thing more

 

The gift

Of A grateful heart

NEVER A DOUBT=THE STORY OF Saint Thomas

 

 

 

 

 

 

NEVER IN DOUBT

( the story of SAINT THOMAS )

 

 

How many of us

Have seen a sporting event

A particular nitty-gritty contest

Where you had no idea

Who was going to win

 

Then after the outcome

And your team won

Thought or said,

 

“The outcome

Was never in doubt”

 

Well I am here to tell you

The story of Saint Thomas

The story of “Doubting Thomas”

 

Well I am here to tell you

That the outcome was

“NEVER IN DOUBT”

 

We forget

That when Martha and Mary

Summoned Jesus to come back

And help Lazarus

Many of the other Apostles

Didn’t want to go

 

Because they had

To go through Judea

An area

Where Jesus had just almost been stoned

 

They were afraid

 

Then Thomas spoke up and said,

“LET us also go

That we may die with him”                                                    John 14:16

 

Then we flash forward

To after Jesus’ death

To where we find Thomas saying;

 

“Unless I see

The nail marks in his hands

And put my finger

Where the nails were

And put my hands into his side

I will NOT believe it”                                                               John 20:25

 

Do you ever feel that way

I know that I do

 

Thomas is our inspiration

For those of us

Still struggling with our faith

For whatever reason

 

For we know

That Thomas

Went on to preach about Jesus

After the Resurrection

And was martyred for it

 

Saint Thomas

Is the Saint of architects

And the spiritually blind

 

For those of us like Saint Thomas

Struggling with our faith

Like our favorites sports team

Striving for victory

WE WILL TRIUMPH

 

For we know that the outcome is

 

NEVER IN DOUBT
