What KIND of life
ARE you living?
Are you living a
Sexually active life
OUTSIDE of the guidelines
Of marriage?


“For God does NOT call us
To IMPURITY-
But to HOLINESS” 1 Thessalonians 4:7


The pagan culture
In which the Greek culture lived
Had LITTLE REGARD for chastity


So the community
That Paul had-had to be REMINDED
That they were called
To LIVE a COUNTER-CULTURAL LIFE


They were NOT called
To live an ACTIVE-
Sexually promiscuous life
But ONE OF HOLINESS


Living a HOLY LIFE
Living a MORAL life
With INTEGRITY


“May INTEGRITY and UPRIGHTNESS
PROTECT ME


Because MY HOPE-Lord-
Is in you” Psalm 25:21


“Righteousness-
GUARDS the person of INTEGRITY


But wickedness-
Overthrows the sinner” Proverbs 13:6


“Now this is OUR BOAST
Our CONSCIENCE TESTIFIES
That we have conducted ourselves


In the world
With INTEGRITY and godly sincerity” 2 Corinthians 1:12


It is NOT EASY
To live with chastity-integrity-
Sexual PURITY=and HOLINESS
In this 21^st century


To LIVE the
COUNTER-CULTURAL LIFE


When NO ONE ELSE
Is doing it
There is LITTLE SUPPORT
For this type of life
In our CONTEMPORARY CULTURE


Yet we are CALLED by God
CALLED by Jesus
To live a MORAL LIFE
FILLED with integrity and holiness


“ASCRIBE to the Lord
The GLORY due
His name


WORSHIP the Lord
In the splendor
Of his HOLINESS” Psalm 29:2


“It is because of him
That you ARE Christ Jesus
Who has BECOME for us
WISDOM from God-


That is-our righteousness-
Holiness-and REDEMPTION” 1 Corinthians 1:30


I have had the PRIVILEGE
Of KNOWING some young adults
Who LIVE COUNTER-CULTURALLY


They really want to LIVE CHASTELY
They really want to LIVE
With MORALITY and INTEGRITY


They PRAY REGULARLY-refrain
From pornography-
And they SEEK OUT OTHER
Young adults-who SHARE THEIR VALUES


So WHOEVER you are=
Whatever AGE you are=live the
MORAL LIFE
Live the life/a life
Of HOLINESS and INTEGRITY


BE AN EXAMPLE=
And BLESS this world
With YOUR PRESENCE


In the NAME of Jesus OUR LORD-
And his MOST HEAVENLY FATHER

WHAT WILL HE SEE?

WHAT WILL HE SEE?


What did God see in you-
YESTERDAY-when you MOVED
Through your day?


What will he SEE in
You TODAY?


I HOPE it was LOVE & KINDNESS
I hope it is=WILL BE-
Love and kindness-in you every day
And in ALL
The days of your life


“Therefore-STAY AWAKE!-
For you do NOT know
On which day
The Lord will come” Matthew 24:42


We NEVER know what day
The Lord is coming
For us ALL


Or INDIVIDUALLY for you and me
So we NEED
To be READY


What WILL the Lord
SEE in you today?
What did he see
In you YESTERDAY?


So many of us
LIVE our lives with
QUALITIES that are NOT ATTRACTIVE


Like argumentativeness-gossip-
Greed-gluttony-fear-or laziness


I HOPE God sees GOOD
Things in you today=
Like LIVING IN HARMONY-
Generosity-and LOVE


Maybe even ALL
FRUITS of the SPIRIT Galatians 5:22


“I will PROCLAIM
The Lord's decree:


He said to me-'YOU are my son
TODAY-I have BECOME your father'” Psalm 2:7


“The Lord has done it
This VERY DAY
Let us REJOICE today
And be glad” Psalm 118:24


CHANCES are-all our
Behavior=yesterday=was NOT
Like CHRISTIANS should behave


MAYBE we even
Went to some PLACES
That TRUE Christian
Shouldn't go


Let us ASK GOD
To HELP us live TODAY with
CHRISTIAN LIKE QUALITIES


QUALITIES like
The FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT


“But the FRUIT of the SPIRIT
Is LOVE-joy-peace-
FORBEARANCE-GOODNESS-kindness-
FAITHFULNESS-gentleness-and SELF-CONTROL” Galatians 5:22-23


Let us MOVE closer=CLOSER
To God=and HAVE a little MORE
Of these qualities in our life
EACH DAY


Let us REMEMBER
That God and Jesus
Are with us ALWAYS


What will GOD SEE
In us TODAY?


Let us RESOLVE to make
EACH DAY
A LITTLE BETTER than the last


In the name of our LORD-Jesus-and HIS MOST HEAVENLY FATHER

GOD IS AT WORK IN US


Do you know-that the-
GRACE of God-the work
Of God-is AT WORK in you
And me?


That is WHY it is
SO IMPORTANT that we
SPEND a few moments=ALONE
With God every day


To let the SPIRIT-and his
GRACE & WORD
Work in us


“........In receiving the WORD of God

….....as it truly is
The WORD of God
Which is now
At work in you

I have PRAYED
With many others
During the course
Of my life


And it indeed IS a PRIVILEGE
To be on the leading
Or on the following end


It is indeed-DURING these times
That I truly feel the WORD
That I truly FEEL GOD'S GRACE
At work in me


GOD is at WORK IN US


“By the seventh day-
God had FINISHED the work
He had been doing


So on the 7^th day
HE RESTED
From ALL of his work” Genesis 2:2


“The heavens
DECLARE the glory
Of God


The skies PROCLAIM
The WORK of his hands” Psalm 19:1


“........
I ALWAYS pray with JOY
Because of your partnership
In the GOSPEL


From the first day
Until now


BEING CONFIDENT of this
That he who BEGAN
A GOOD WORK in you


Will CARRY it on
To completion
Until the day
OF Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:4-6


ALL these times
WHEN I pray with others
I always ASK GOD'S SPIRIT


To ENTER into us
And to MOVE God's GRACE
And WORD completely through us


I wish that EVERYONE in this
World=could FEEL GOD'S LOVE=
Could feel Christ's love
MOVING through them


Because GOD'S GRACE & WORDS
Are there=they are
AT WORK IN US


“For WHERE
Two or three GATHER in my name
There am I=WITH THEM” Matthew 18:20


I feel the MOVEMENT
Of God=in OTHERS and in myself
When we PRAY


“WOW”
And I NEVER forget to say
“THANK YOU” to God


The MYSTERY of God is CLEARLY
AT WORK IN US

But the TRUTH is=I don't
Really have to=IF I am
Living right=if you
Are LIVING RIGHT-
Our LIVES should SPEAK
For themselves


They-OUR LIVES-should be
The WORD of God in ACTION

The GOSPEL of God
With much struggle” 1 Thessalonians 2:2


Saint Paul WRITES
In his difficulty
In BRINGING the gospel
In DIFFICULT TIMES
To the church of Philippi


Saint Paul went through hell
He was ACCUSED
Of disturbing the peace
He was arrested-
Beaten-and imprisoned


THANK God-we don't have
To go through that
To SHARE the gospel
With others


LIVE LIVE that SPEAK=
USE WORDS=IF NECESSARY


Speak the GOSPEL
In whatever way that you can


“He said to them-
'GO into the whole world
And PREACH the gospel
To all CREATION'” Mark 16:15


LIVE by EXAMPLE
Let your LIGHT SHINE
USE WORDS-if necessary


“He gave me
The priestly duty
Of PROCLAIMING
The gospel of GOD


So that the GENTILES
Might become an offering
Acceptable to God


Sanctified by the HOLY SPIRIT” Romans 15:16


There are billions of people-
LIVING-who have NOT HEARD
Of the Gospel of Jesus Christ


“For when I
Preach the gospel
I CANNOT boast


Since I am COMPELLED
To preach-
WOE to me


If I do
Not preach the gospel” 1 Corinthians 19:16


We may NOT ALL
Have to go through
What Paul did


But we are all CHALLENGED
To LIVE the gospel
To live our lives
In the GOSPEL OF LOVE


Saint Francis of Assisi said-
“Preach the gospel ALWAYS-
If necessary-USE WORDS”


I INTEND to do just that


MAY my life/OUR LIVES=our WORDS
PREACH THE GOSPEL=all the days
Of our HOLY LIVES


In the NAME of JESUS OUR LORD

AN ACT OF WILL

AN ACT OF WILL


It is a TOUGH LIFE
That we live in-
It takes an ACT OF WILL
On our part
NOT to become jaded


And not give up=
It takes a lot of
FAITH-HOPE-and LOVE to keep
On GOING=and we have to
CONTINUE to work on them


“We give THANKS
To God always
….....
CALLING to mind


Your WORK of faith
And LABOR of love
And endurance in HOPE” 1 Thessalonians 1-2-3


Paul called faith=”work”
REFERRED to love as=”labor”
And hope as=”endurance”


YES=life really is
A test
And it really does
Take an ACT OF WILL
On our part


To KEEP working at our faith
To keep LABORING in love
And HOLDING on to our HOPE=
Is an ENDURANCE test


“I desire to do
Your will- my God


Your law
Is WITHIN my heart” Psalm 40:8


“For I have come down
From heaven


NOT to do my will
But to do the will
Of him who sent me” John 6:38


“Do not conform
To the PATTERN of this world
But be TRANSFORMED


By the RENEWAL
Of your mind


Then you will be able
To TEST and APPROVE
What GOD'S WILL IS--------


His good-pleasing-
And PERFECT WILL” Romans 12:2


Yes GOD'S WILL=takes a lot
Of faith-HOPE-and love=
NOT to mention work-labor
And ENDURANCE


Faith-hope and LOVE does
NOT come easily-and life is a TEST
That takes a lot of ENDURANCE


To keep getting up
OFF THE MAT


Life is a MARATHON
To be sure and it does
TAKE a lot of ENDURANCE


It is a case of will
An ACT OF WILL=
Of mind over matter


“MAY the God
Who gives endurance
And encouragement


Give you the SAME ATTITUDE
Of mind-toward each other
That Christ had........” Romans 15:5


It sometimes SEEMS like
We can't do enough
For our TROUBLED world


And even after a
LIFETIME of EFFORT
We are NO better off


Do NOT GIVE UP
My dear friends


KEEP MARCHING FORWARD
In faith-hope-and love


It is AN ACT OF WILL

TOTALLY FILLED WITH GRATITUDE

TOTALLY FILLED WITH GRATITUDE


The most PROFOUND CHANGES
BEGIN in your life=WHEN
You begin to THANK GOD
Every day


And when you KNOW=that
WHATEVER you accomplished=in life
WASN'T done by you=yourself


PAY HOMAGE to God and others
For the ROLES that they
Have PLAYED in your life


“I will GIVE THANKS to you
O Lord-
With all my heart” Psalm 138:1


I think I was ALWAYS
A person
FILLED with GRATITUDE


But I first became
TOTALLY CONSCIOUS of it=after God
SAVED my life=and SUSTAINED me
In life=4 times on my deathbed
In the 1970's


And I feel TOTAL GRATITUDE=for the role
My parents=and sisters have played
In my life


And my EXTENDED FAMILY
And friends=as well as my churches


SO MANY PEOPLE=have helped me
In SO many ways


TOTALLY FILLED with GRATITUDE=
Just to wake up every day


NOT to mention food on the table=
And a roof OVER my head


“LET the MESSAGE of Christ
Dwell among you richly
As you TEACH


And admonish one another
With ALL WISDOM
Through psalms=hymns=
And songs of the SPIRIT


Singing to God
With GRATITUDE in our hearts” Colossians 3:16


Yes=saying thank you=
To God=in ALL circumstances


Saying THANK YOU to God=
And others=for every little thing=
EVERY little experience
Of my life=even LIFE ITSELF


I was GIVEN UP for dead
When I was 22=
Due to a temperature of 108 degrees
Because of gangrene and peritonitis


And a BLOOD count of 3
Due to an internal bleeder


I will be 63 YEARS YOUNG
Next January


FILLED WITH GRATITUDE and THANKFULNESS
To God=my FAMILY & my friends


“OUR DAYS may come
To 70 years
Or 80 IF our strength ENDURES
….....” Psalm 90:10


Thanking God for it ALL
Thanking God
FOR EVERY EXPERIENCE


Thanking God
For the PLANS=he has for MY LIFE


“'For I KNOW the PLANS
I have for you,' declares the Lord


'Plans to PROSPER you
And NOT to harm you


Plans to give you HOPE
And a future'” Jeremiah 29:11


NEVER forget to say
Thank you for God-
EVEN for the setbacks
And disappointments


They GROW CHARACTER


I am THANKFUL to God
And others fro my EXPERIENCES
Of life and love


And I am TOTALLY FILLED
WITH GRATITUDE
For life ITSELF

WHO IS OUR FAMILY?

WHO IS OUR FAMILY?


LOYALTY is a great trait
It is WONDERFUL for families-and
For spouses=for friends and
ALMOST every relationship
That there is


TODAY we read about Ruth
-And what a wonderful RESPONSE
From a daughter-in-law=Ruth


Ruth's=mother-in-law Naomi=says
To Ruth


“'Look'-said Naomi-'your sister-in-law
Is going back to her people
And her God


Go BACK with her'” Ruth 1:15


“'But,'-Ruth replied-
'DON'T urge me to
Leave you
Or turn back from you


Where you go
I will go


And where you STAY
I will stay
Your people


WILL BE my people
And your God
MY GOD'” Ruth 1:16


So our IN-LAWS
ARE our family too
And deserve OUR LOYALTY


BUILD HARMONIOUS TIES


And Jesus tells us
EVERYONE that BELIEVES
In the WORD OF GOD


Are our FAMILY
Just like our mother and brother


“He replied to him-
'Who is my mother
And who
Are my brothers?'


Pointing to my disciples
He said-


'HERE are my mother
And my brothers


For WHOEVER does the will
Of my Father in heaven
IS my brother
And sister and mother'” Matthew 12:48-50


YES-Jesus died for ALL-
And we ALL should LIVE
For GOD & FAMILY


We are ALL
A part of the HUMAN FAMILY


“God sets the lonely
In FAMILIES
He leads out


The prisoners with singing
But the rebellious
LIVE in a sun-scorched land” Psalm 68:6


“SHE gets up
While it is
Still night


She provides food
For her FAMILY
And portions
For her female servants” Proverbs 31:15


We are ALL a part
Of GOD'S KINGDOM
We all BELONG
To the Father-and-
HIS SON-Jesus


We are all=FOREVER FAMILY


What a world this would be-
IF we all CLAIMED each other
As BLOOD=sons and daughters
Of God


In the name of Jesus Christ=OUR BROTHER=
And the LORD our God
