A PROMISE=to RENEW=The land of ISRAEL
Ezekiel=prophesies to=THE
MOUNTAINS of Israel

It IMPACTS the people=But the FOCUS is mainly
ON THE LAND
Israel’s enemies THOUGHT=That because
Israel was IN EXILE=THE LAND was theirs=For the TAKING
God has an=ENDURING INTEREST=In the land of Israel
Ie.=Mountains=hills=valley=rivers=etc., etc., etc.
God spoke=AGAINST EDOM=and all the other nations=WHO
Set themselves=AGAINST Israel’s PURPOSE AND WILL
Ie. Who wanted to
PLUNDER ISRAEL
Lines 6-12
The LAND of Israel=RESTORED from her shame
-God continues=HIS WORD=to the LAND OF ISRAEL
(Ie.=Mountains=hills rivers=valleys=etc., etc., etc.)
The Lord was focusing =ON RESTORING Israel’s FUTURE
(Israel was=THE PROMISED LAND)
-Israel was UNDER ATTACK=from ALL the other nations
-STILL TRUE=to this PRESENT DAY
In a Solemn OATH=God
promised=TO VINDICATE Israel
And put SHAME=On the nations=who were Israel’s ENEMIES
-God PROMISED=to deal with Israel’s enemies=and
RESTORE the land of Israel=with ecological and agricultural RENEWAL
-God promised=He
IS=FOR=the land of Israel=and that
The LAND=would be TILLED AND SOWN
-The cities would be REBUILT=and inhabited =through
Birth and immigration
The land and ITS PEOPLE=would be BLESSED
Beyond before
-The CURSE=of Israel=and its children=WOULD BE REVERSED

The NATIONS would see=THE BLESSINGS=of the LAND OF ISRAEL
-What was FORMERLY said=of Israel
Scarcity=desolation=and barrenness of the land
(until the Zionists=of the 19thth century)
You shall DEVOUR MEN NO MORE=Nor break your nations anymore-
Nor will you have OTHER NATIONS=Taunt you anymore
God will RESTORE and TRANSFORM YOU=
Israel would have=A RENEWED STATUS

GOD’S JUDGMENT=
Upon Disobedient Israel
-Israel had DEFILED=ITS OWN LAND
-God SHED FURY=On Israel=For their bloodshed
On one another=and their WORSHIP OF IDOLS
God had SCATTERED them=AMONG THE NATIONS=For
Their disobedience and REJECTION of him
Ie. Their ways and deeds

GOD’S CONCERN for=HIS HOLY NAME
-The JEWISH PEOPLE=did not glorify God
-They had GONE=out of their own land=God’s REJECTION
Of his people
-GOD’S RESTORING OF HIS PEOPLE=and ISRAEL
Was NOT ONLY for
them=but for
THE RESTORATION=of his Holy Name
-WHEN God was=ONCE AGAIN HONORED=by Israel=it would
REVEAL TO THE NATIONS=That Yahweh=WAS AGAIN LORD!
LINE 24=
A PROMISE=to GATHER SCATTERED ISRAEL
-God promised to=BRING BACK the people=CAPTURED by Babylon
And have an=EVEN GREATER GATHERING
=God promised=to RESTORE ISRAEL=to its OWN LAND
(Promised to Ezekiel)
NEW COVENANT=would INVITE=the GENTILE NATIONS TOO
LINE 25
A PROMISE to=A SPIRITUAL CLEANSING=made possible
BY JESUS’ death
Ie. NEW CVENANT
INSTITUTED
-A TRUE CLEANSING of SIN=made POSSIBLE=by the
FINISHED WORK=Of Jesus Christ
Ie. A REMOVAL of
the filthiness
LINES 26-27
A promise to=SPIRITUALLY RENEW ISRAEL
-A NEW SPIRIT=within you=God promised a NEW COVENANT=and
A NEW HEART=from the INSIDE OUT

BEING BORN AGAIN=Ie.

A PROMISE=to bless=the land and ITS AGRICULTURE
NEW COVENANT=A gathering IN THE LAND
-You cannot SEPARATE=the land and its people
“You shall BE my people=and I will be YOUR GOD”
NEW COVENANT=would mean DEPTH and strength=for
ALL of God’s people=Just as before
The people’s UNCLEANNESS=would be soon SEEN=With a NEW

ISRAEL’S RESPONSE=in light of=THEIR UNWORTHINESS
For this PROMISE
-The PEOPLE=Would
loathe themselves=for
Their iniquities and abominations
God was CONCERNED=for the RESTORATION=for his
OWN GLORY and REPUTATION=Of himself=NOT ISRAEL’S

A PROMISE to RESTORE=the desolate peoples
-When CLEANSED=The PEOPLE=could dwell in the cities again
Ie. The desolate
land=WOULD BE FRUITFUL AGAIN
The other NATIONS would know=God REBUILT the cities=and
THE GREATNESS of
Yahweh
=To REMOVE all doubt=God gave HIS SUPREME OATH
-THE NEW COVENANT=meant
NEW DYNAMIC PRAYING=Through
The GRACE of God=Hebrews 4:16
=AN INCREASE in people as promised=God wants us TO PRAY=for
WHAT HE WANTS=and has promised
