A DEAD NATION=RESTORED TO LIFE
LINES 1-3
THE VALLEY OF BONES
A VISION by Ezekiel
(NOT A PHYSICAL VISION)
=The MIDDLE of the valley=WAS FULL OF BONES
Ie. BONES all around
in an OPEN VALLEY
-NOT living in a body=But very DRY BONES
No life=No bones=NEED HOPE RESTORED
CAN these dry bones=LIVE AGAIN?
Ezekiel=”ONLY YOU KNOW GOD”
Ezekiel=THE HOPE is in God=NOT IN the bones
LINES 4-6
SPEAKING LIFE=into dead bones
-God COMMANDS Ezekiel=to speak to=THE DRY BONES
Ie. A vain and foolish
act=PROPHESY
DRY BONES=Needed the WORD of God
Ie. Ezekiel
knew=God’s word=had SUPERNATURAL POWER
GOD promised=to BRING the dry bones=BACK TO LIFE
Ie. A REVIVAL=a
restoration=IN GOD’S WORD
Ie. THE SYMBOLIC
RESTORATION of the nation
LINES 7-8
Dead bones=ASSEMBLE TOGETHER
IF Ezekiel had doubt=He put it away=and DID
What God commanded
Ezekiel prophesied=and the BONES came together
Ie. RATTLING of the
bones
Muscle and Tissue came=UPON the bones too
It happened in stages=and the BONES HAD LIFE=Just
AWAITING the breath of GOD
LINES 9-10
THE SECOND PROPHECY=of the bones
BRING LIFE and death
Breath=and GOD’S LOVE=Ezekiel called upon
That they MAY LIVE
NEEDED the WORK=of the Holy Spirit of God
Ie. EZEKIEL Called
on the Holy Spirit and=THE WORD OF GOD
MIRACLES and
Recreation
Ezekiel prophesied=and PRAYED for=THE WORK of God=
To be completed
The BREATH of God=came upon the BONES=and
They CAME to their feet
The bones became=an ENGROSSING GREAT ARMY
They LIVED=on the WORD OF GOD=Who gave them LIFE
LINES 11-14
God EXPLAINED=The vision to Ezekiel
=THE bones are=THE WHOLE HOUSE OF ISRAEL
Including BOTH
The NORTHERN KINGDOM of Israel=who the Assyrians CONQUERED
150 years ago=and the KINGDOM OF JUDAH
Bones are dry=HOPE had been cut off=Until
LIFE is brought to the dead=and they COME OUT
Of their graves
-THE REVIVAL of Israel=Includes restoration
TO THE LAND
GOD=would be REVEALED=through
Revival and RESTORATION
of Israel
THE SPIRIT=of the living God=would be
Put INSIDE of Israel

ONE KINGDOM=with one King
TWO sticks become ONE STICK=Ie. EZEKIEL took two sticks
And made ONE STICK=Writing and IDENTIFYING
Judah and Ephraim(Israel)
The sticks REPRESENTED Israel=and the two
SOUTHERN TRIBES OF JUDAH
Ephraim had been=THE NORTHERN KINGDOM=Ezekiel JOINED
The two sticks TOGETHER=Into ONE
LINES 18-20
THE MEANING of=the JOINING of the sticks
The PEOPLE=wanted to KNOW=what Ezekiel meant=MYSTERY
-The MEANING WAS PLAIN=Just one KINGDOM
(Of Ephraim and Judah)
LINES 21-23
THE PROMISE to gather=TO UNIFY=and to
RESTORE ISRAEL
COMBINE the RESTORATION=of THE BABYLONIAN EXILES=with
Those SCATTERED=among the nations
God would bring=The JEWISH PEOPLE BACK TOGETHER=in
WHOLE and complete restoration=Of land and of people
Ie. ONE NATION=In
the land=On the MOUNTAINS of Israel
ONE NATION=under one KING=and they would NOT
DEFILE themselves any longer=WITH IDOLS
A CLEANSING
“THEY WILL BE MY PEOPLE=and I will BE THEIR GOD”
A NEW COVENANT
LINES 24-28
ONE KING DAVID=the
RESTORING of Israel
-The one KING would be David
-They will DWELL in=The land=GIVEN TO
The/MY SERVANT JACOB
David shall be=GOD’S PRINCE FOREVER
Ie a millenial
kingdom=UNTIL Jesus
A COVENANT OF PEACE=and an EVERLASTING COVENANT
That never ends
I will ESTABLISH and MULTIPLY THE RESTORATION
Ie. LARGE not small
And there will BE A TEMPLE too=FOR THE RESTORATION!
