MEANT FOR ME=AND YOU TOO
In the EPISTLE TODAY=Saint Paul tells us to KEEP OUR HEARTS=On what
IS ABOVE=and LESS on earthly things=What a BETTER WORLD=It
would be=
If MORE of us=Would do just this=And this is=MEANT FOR
ME=AND YOU TOO!=
“Since then=You have been=Raised with Christ=Set your
HEARTS=ON THINGS
ABOVE=But on earthly things”
Colossians 3:2
We are told to=PUT TO DEATH=Things
like=”……..Immorality-impurity-lust-
Evil desires=and Greed=Which is idolatry”
Colossians 3:5
In other words=Put ASIDE these things and=FOCUS on loving
God=Loving our
Sisters and Brothers=Forgiving each other=and CARING for
each other=IN OUR
HEARTS=Focus on HEAVENLY things from above=Not on earthly things=FOCUS ON=
The above and the heavenly=That is=MEANT FOR ME AND YOU TOO!=”But
will God=
Really dwell on earth?=The HEAVENS=even the HIGHEST HEAVEN=Cannot
contain you=
How much less=This temple I have built”
1 Kings 8:27
“When I consider=YOUR HEAVENS=The work of your fingers=The
moon and the stars=
Which you have set in place”
Psalm 8:3
“In my vision=at night=and there before me was=One like a Son of man=Coming with
THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN”
Daniel 8:13
When we read this=With OUR HEART=We should focus=ON THE
HEAVENS=and Not
On the earthly things=WE think=That that does not apply to
us=To you and me=But
IT SURELY DOES=For there are MANY evil things=Running
RAMPANT in this world
Things like=
“Anger=fury=malice=slander=OBSCENE LANGUAGE=out of our
mouths=Stop lying
To one another……..”
Colossians 3:7-9
It is UP to us=To you and me=To put these things to
DEATH=Within ourselves=And
For us to focus=ON the things from ABOVE=The things of a
HEAVENLY NATURE=Like
Loving the God of LOVE=Loving one another=and it is MEANT
FOR ME AND YOU TOO!=
Put on LOVE!=THE love
of above=THE LOVE FROM HEAVEN!
“But store up=For yourselves=TREASURES IN HEAVEN=Where moths
and vermin=
Do not destroy=and Where thieves=Do not break in and steal=For
where your treasure is=
There your HEART=will also be”
Matthew 6:20-21
“For we know=That if the earthly tent we live in=Is
destroyed=We have=a building from
God=An eternal house
IN HEAVEN=Not built by human hands” 2 Corinthians 5:1
“But our citizenship=IS IN HEAVEN=And we eagerly=Await a
Savior=from there=
The Lord Jesus Christ=Who by the power=That enables him=To
bring everything=
Under his control……..”
Philippians 3:20-21
I am ashamed=TO SAY=I have felt some of these=EVIL EARTHLY
DESIRES=Like
Anger=Like Jealousy=Like greed=Like Immorality=I would bet
you have some too!=It
Is important=That we sublimate these desires=When we feel them=and that WE=
PUT ON LOVE!=”And over all
these virtues=PUT ON LOVE!=Which binds them all together=
In perfect unity”
Colossians 3:14
MY FRIENDS=Our earthly nature=Gets us INTO TROUBLE=But if we
think about
THINGS FROM ABOVE==and our HEAVENLY LOVE=We can survive==God’s
love=and
Jesus’ love=are MEANT FOR US TOO!
In Jesus’ name=and IN the name=of our EVER LOVING=ever
living=ever FAITHFUL to us
The Holy Father=GOD OF LOVE!
