PRAY TO BE A LIGHT=IN SOMEONE'S WORLD

JESUS was a light=Some 2,000 years ago=But it took till some 400 years later=For

PEOPLE TO RECOGNIZE=Who he was=He was a  LIGHT for others=OFFERING HOPE=

Offering love=Offering MIRACLES=to the world=Finally he was RECOGNIZED as=

THE CHRIST=People believed in him=and he still is=THE LIGHT TODAY=MAYBE you

Can be a LIGHT=for someone in this world="Pour out your Hearts before him=GOD is

Our refuge"                                                                                                                            Psalm 62:9

Sometimes this life=BRINGS US PAIN=Physical pain=Emotional pain=and spiritual

Pain=PAIN visited me=EARLY IN MY LIFE=But I have had MANY LIGHTS=to HELP me=along

The way=The Holy Father God=and his Son Jesus=MY IMMEDIATE FAMILY=My extended

Family=My friends and my churches=have ALL helped me=ALONG THE WAY=and put me back Together=and I have TRIED to HELP and SPREAD=the Holy Father God's love and life=to as

MANY people as I could=PRAY THAT=YOU CAN BE A LIGHT=In someone else's world=Like you

ALL have been to me=

"And God said'='Let there BE LIGHT'=and there was light=God saw that the LIGHT was good=

And he separated the LIGHT from darkness"                                                                       Genesis 1:3

"The precepts of the Lord=are right=Giving joy to the heart=The commands of the Lord=are radiant=GIVING LIGHT to the eyes"                                                                                          Psalm 19:8

"Come descendants of Jacob=Let us walk=IN THE LIGHT=Of the Lord"            Isaiah 2:5

THINK about it MY Sisters and brothers=WHEN the dark days come=WHO or what=

Do we have=To wipe away=THOSE TEARS OF PAIN=From your eyes?=Our family=Our

Parents=Our Friends =Our church=But ABOVE all=we have the LORD=and his Holy Father God!

=Maybe even a stranger or TWO=have HELPED us along=On our way=and BROUGHT LIGHT=

And life to us=WHO did the Holy Father God and Jesus send to you?

And how about us guys?=You and me=Is there someone we have=OR that we can BRING

LIGHT TOO?=PRAY that=YOU CAN BE a LIGHT!=In someone else's world=In someone's eyes=

God can=Jesus CAN USE YOU=To be GOD'S PRESENCE=to family and friends=and strangers=

THROUGH  little acts of KINDNESS=You all have been there for me=and I try and NEVER=

FORGET any of you=I LOVE YOU!=Thank you for=BEING A LIGHT TO ME=and I HOPE=I have

Been that=to some of you guys=KINDNESS talks to our heart=to our minds=and to our

SOULS=PRAY THAT YOU CAN BE A LIGHT TO SOMEONE!

"........The people living in darkness=have seen a great LIGHT=On those living in the land=

Of the shadow of death=A LIGHT HAS DAWNED!"                                                               Matthew 4:16

"When Jesus spoke again=To the people =he said'='I am=THE LIGHT=of the world=

I WISH=I could EFFECT=MY GRATEFUL HEART=Upon every single person=Who has

Touched my life=and I HOPE you pray ALONG with me=My brothers and sisters=That you

CAN BE A LIGHT=and I can too=IN someone's world=Just like THE HOLY FATHER GOD and his

Son Jesus=have been=FOR ALL OF US

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our ever LOVING and living=ALWAYS THE LIGHT=

LET NOTHING DISTURB YOU---

( the story of SAINT THERESA of AVILA)

 

 

So easily

We become disturbed

In today’s world

 

About our health

About our finances

About our relationships

And about a myriad of other things

 

Even as a child

Theresa of Avila

Was thought to be particularly pious

Playing with her brother---at hermitages

 

And once---the two of them even ran away

Hoping to die as martyrs in Monaco

 

Theresa’s mother died when she was 14

And her reaction was predictable

As she developed a desire for worldly treasures

Such as romance, fashion, and perfume

 

Her father sent her away

To be educated by Augustinian nuns

And while there---she became ill

 

While ill

She began so study the word of God

And became so enthralled

By the letters of Saint Jerome

She decided to become a nun

 

She became a Carmelite nun

But a year later---became ill again

Possibly a malignant malaria

 

LET NOTHING DISTURB YOU

 

Theresa began to practice mental prayer

But later abandoned it

 

But after her father’s death

Picked it up again

NEVER to give it up again

 

Theresa’s exuberance, prudence, and charity

Touched ALL---but later

When she began to experience visions

And other SPIRITUAL encounters

She began

To become misunderstood, ridiculed, and even persecuted

 

She identified herself with two great Saints

---Two great sinners-penitents

Who were TRANSFORMED BY GOD---

Saint Augustine and MARY MAGDALENE

 

She lived in a little nunnery

With 12 other nuns

Under conditions of poverty-hardship-and solitude

 

Theresa herself---took her turns at sweeping-spinning

And many other menial household tasks

 

Her prayers to God

Lasted a lifetime

And LIVE ON today in her writings---

THE WAY TO PERFECTION and THE INTERIOR CASTLE

 

Dear God

We pray that as we experience hardship in this life

And we will

 

That we adopt that same attitude

Of Saint Theresa

That we keep our eyes FIXED on you

And that we truly live by what Saint Theresa truly did

And in fact said:

 

“LET NOTHING DISTURB YOU”

In your feelings about God

Whether positive or negative

The change is inside of you

 

God loved you yesterday

God loves you today

God will love you tomorrow

 

God is love

God is the same

MANY  THANK YOUS=to the TWO SISTERS MOVING COMPANY=LOVE YOU so much Terri and Mary=I am ALL CAUGHT UP Till the 23rd=WHEN Mary comes back=and the movers on the 24th

( I am like UNCLE Joe=moving KIND OF SLOW=at the JUNCTION)=KEEP THE PRAYERS Coming=

LOTS to do yet=LOVE YOU ALL so very much=GOD and FAMILY make the difference!

THE REAL PRESENCE OF GOD

I would imagine that

MOST priests and nuns

As well as MINISTERS

Would AGREE that God

And Jesus is the CENTER

Of this life

But there is a lot

Of us normal EVERY DAY

People=lay people

Who keep God and Jesus

At the center

Of our THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS

“To you will I offer

A sacrifice of THANKSGIVING.......”                                                                       Psalm 116:17

GIVING THANKS  to God and Jesus

For being PRESENT every day

Being present IN MASS and

Sunday services=which have been

VERY HARD for me

To attend since COVID

But regardless-

God and Jesus has REMAINED

At the center=of my life

And I NEED THEIR PRESENCE

Every day of my life

“Blessed are those

Who have learned=to acclaim you

Who walk

In the light

OF YOUR PRESENCE=Lord”                                                                              Psalm 89:15

“Where can I go

From your Spirit?

Where can I flee

From your PRESENCE?”                                                                                      Psalm139:7

“For Christ-

Did not enter a sanctuary

Made with human hands

That was only a copy

Of the true one=

He entered heaven itself

Now to appear=for us

IN GOD'S PRESENCE”                                                                                        Hebrews 9:24

And God and Jesus

Are PRESENT with me

Every day

WHEN I say my prayers

When I read my BIBLE=

When I say=MY ROSARY

GIVING THANKS 

For the real presence

Of God=

Giving thanks for the others

In this world

That God and Jesus LIVE IN

“But THANKS be to God!

He gives us=the victory

Through our Lord Jesus Christ”                                                                             1 Corinthians 15:57

And I BELIEVE God

Is PRESENT

Throughout the world

In the beautiful things

We humans=tend to make

A mess of a lot of things=

But God is STILL PRESENT

He has GIVEN

A lot to us

“THANKS be to God

For this indescribable gift”                                                                                    2 Corinthians 9:15

We are ONE in the Lord=

And I am GIVING THANKS 

For this heaven sent

GIFT OF LIFE

Until we reach the end

I am GIVING THANKS 

For his real presence

Here on earth

In Jesus' name=and in the the name=OF OUR ALWAYS PRESENT=Holy Father God!
