A LOVE AND FISH STORY!

 

A FISH AND LOVE STORY

It started with fish

And it ended with LOVE

Jesus' story with his BEST friends

And his apostles

Hence a fish and a LOVE STORY

“When they had done this

They caught

A great number of fish

And........FILLED both boats

So that they were in danger of sinking

….....

When they brought their boats

To the shore

They left everything

And followed him”                                                         Luke 5:6-7-11

What a great way

To call your first disciples

To FIND your friends

Simon Peter overwhelmed

Falls to his knees and says,

'Get away from me Lord;

I am a sinful man'”                                                                  Luke 5:8

Jesus-in turn-says-

“Don't be afraid

From now on

You will be FISHERS OF MEN”                                                  Luke 5:10

And what about us

In today's world

Are we not

A little bit overwhelmed

Do we not think and feel

The same way as Peter

(“Get away from me Lord;

I am a sinful man; or 

I am a sinful woman”)

But we need not worry-

Jesus calls us HIS FRIENDS

And we have a story

That ends just the way

It ended with the apostles

IN LOVE

IN JESUS' love for us-

Is us trying to bring people

To OUR LORD'S KINGDOM

“You are my FRIENDS

If you do what I command

I no longer

Call you servants

Because a servant

Does not know his master's business

INSTEAD I have called you FRIENDS

For everything that I have learned

From my Father

I have made known to you”                                                          John 15:14-15

And which of us

Hasn't sat down

With a brother and sister in Christ

Over a fish sandwich 

Or a fish dinner

And discussed how much God

How much our Lord Jesus Christ

LOVES US-and what he went through

To save us

Peter only denied Jesus three times-

And Jesus later AFFIRMED HIM

How many times have you and I

Denied Christ in this world-

If you are like me

It is probably too numerous to count

Jesus appears to his disciples again

After the RESURRECTION

And again they catch MANY FISH

Probably too numerous to count

But scripture says 153 “kinds”

Perhaps the number of kinds of people

In the world-at that time

Dear Lord-WE PRAY

Perhaps the SHARING of the fish

Was the beginning of sharing

Of the GOOD NEWS of THE LORD

HELP US

To continue to feed the people

The good news of your life

In today's world

For the job is ONLY 1/2 done

“ALL AUTHORITY in heaven

And on earth

Have been given to me

Therefore-go and make disciples

Of ALL NATIONS

BAPTIZING them in the name

Of the Father-and the Son

And the Holy Spirit

And teaching them to obey

EVERYTHING I commanded you

And SURELY I AM with you ALWAYS

To the very end of the age”                                                                   Matthew 28:18-20

Dear Lord-

HELP US to continue to share the fish

And to SHARE THE LOVE

MORAL FAILURE

Moral Failure

 

The question is not

What are we going to do

If we encounter

Moral Failure

 

The question is

What are we going to do with it

Once we realize

We did fail

 

Look at Saint Peter

He denied Christ 3 times

Even after he said

He would never deny Christ

 

Yet

He went on

To actually BE the ROCK

And have the whole foundation

Of the Church

Built upon him

 

Look at Saint Paul

Previously called Saul

Not worthy to be called an Apostle

And a killer of Christians

In the new Church

 

Yet the Lord converted him

And he became

Probably

The most prolific writer

And recruiter

In the Christian movement

 

What about Moses

A murderer

What about David

An adulterer

What about anyone

In the Bible

 

What about you/what about me

When we realize

We failed God

In some way

 

How are we

Going to

Let God use us

In the building up

Of his Kingdom

 

There are

No perfect people in this world

Only Christ

 

So you failed

So what

You can still be

On the team

 

And maybe

Just maybe

A star

On the team

Of our Lord

TO BRING PEOPLE TO GOD

 

 

 

 

 

 

TO BRING PEOPLE TO GOD=

(The Holy Father and Jesus)

 

Do you KNOW the story of Zaccheus?=In the New  Testament=WHO is

Your Zaccheus?=”……..The Son of MAN=has come to seek=and to save=What

Was LOST”                                                                                                                                                         Luke 19:10

 

Zaccheus was a man=SHORT in stature=He was very rich=and very UNPOPULAR=

On top of this=He was a tax collector=and this BROUGHT lots of resentment and envy=

IF we were part=Of the crowd=We probably would NOT have liked him=But don’t forget=

Jesus came for=THE LOST=Namely me and you=and  to BRING PEOPLE=to his

Holy Father God=He came to BRING all of us 21^st century apostles=who are LOST=

Almost all of us=back  TO GOD=That is part of=OUR MISSION TOO!

 

“My people=have BEEN LOST SHEEP=Their shepherds led them astray=and caused them=

To roam on the mountains”                                                                                                         Jeremiah 50:6

“You have not strengthened=The weak or healed the sick=Or bound up the injured=You

Have not brought back the strays=or SEARCHED FOR THE LOST”                           Ezekiel 34:4

“I will=search FOR THE LOST=and bring back the strays=I will bind up=The injured=

Ant strengthen the weak=But the sleek and the strong=I will destroy=I will shepherd

The flock with justice”                                                                                                                  Ezekiel 34:16

 

There was SOMETHING about Zaccheus=That MOVED the Lord==and something about

You and me=That MOVES the LORD TOO!=Zaccheus CLIMBED a tree=to get a

BETTER LOOK =at the Lord=and Jesus was SO MOVED by this=That he went to his

House=despite the grumbling crowd=”Jesus said to him’=’TODAY salvation has come=

To this house=Because this man too=is a SON OF ABRAHAM=For the Son of Man=Came

To seek=and to save the LOST’”                                                                                      Luke 19:9-10

 

Zaccheus=was ONE of the LOST=The 12 apostles were LOST too=so  were some of

THE SAINTS=at one time or another=and we THE 21^st century apostles=Of the Lord=are

LOST TOO!=The Holy Father God and Jesus=REMIND US=Me and you=Of this thought

Every day=IN OUR PRAYERS=We need to HELP=The GOD OF LOVE=and Jesus=Return

The Lost=to the Holy Father!

 

“Suppose one of you=has a hundred sheep=and loses=ONE of them=Doesn’t he leave

The 99=In the open country=and go after the LOST SHEEP=Until he finds it?”                     Luke 15:4

“And when she finds it=She calls her friends and neighbors together=and says=’Rejoice

With me=I have found=my lost coin’”                                                                                                    Luke 15:9

“For this Son of mine=Was dead and is alive again=He was LOST=and is found=So

They began to celebrate”                                                                                                                                Luke 15:24

 

MY DEAR FRIENDS=my sisters and brothers=We are LIVING in=a LOST COUNTRY=a

LOST WORLD=Where 90 per cent of us=have our PRIORITIES=totally out of whack=Putting

Love of materialism=Love of sexuality=and the Love of science=above  the LOVE OF GOD=

Love of neighbor=and the LOVE OF FAMILY=PEOPLE REURN TO THE GOD OF LOVE!

“What is more=I consider everything a LOSS=Because of the surpassing worth of=

Knowing Christ Jesus my lord=for whose sake=I have LOST all things……..”        Philippians 3:8

 

My friends=You don’t have to=CLIMB A TREE=Like Zaccheus=to find God=Just

OPEN YOUR BIBLES=as well as YOUR HEARTS=your minds=and your SOULS=to

The Love of=The Holy father God=and Jesus=and they will RETURN YOU HOME=

From the LOST

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name of=OUR FOREVER FINDING AND RETURNING

DIFFICULT=KEEP MOVING FORWARD

We LIVE in difficult

Times today=I am SURE

They were DIFFICULT

Back in Jesus' times too

Especially when HE

Went back

To his home town=and

They REJECTED HIM

“He was amazed

At their

LACK OF FAITH”                                                                                                 Mark 6:6

What a difficult TIME=

It must have been

For Jesus

To go back to

Your home=difficult

With DOUBT=blank stares

And rejection

These days are difficult times

For us too=

In today's world

This world LACKS FAITH=

And there is violence=conflict=

And so LITTLE HARMONY

In this world

All we can do

Is keep

MOVING FORWARD

In Christ Jesus

Keep being a PRESENCE

Of God=and Jesus

And LOVE=in this world

FOR OTHERS

Hopefully when others=

Think of us=others will THINK

Of God and LOVE TOO

“In the shelter

Of your PRESENCE

You hide them

From all human intrigues

You keep them safe

In your dwelling

From accusing tongues”                                                                                   Psalm 31:20

“Where can I go

From your Spirit?

Where can I flee

FROM YOUR PRESENCE?”                                                                        Psalm 139:7

“To him-

Who is able

To keep you

From stumbling

And to present you

Before his GLORIOUS PRESENCE

Without fault

And with great joy........”                                                                                      Jude :24

WHERE was the FAITH

Of Jesus' family=friends=

And neighbors=

OF HIS COMMUNITY?

How DIFFICULT it

Must have been

For Jesus

But Jesus kept

MOVING FORWARD in faith

And that is all

We can KEEP ON DOING=

Is keep moving forward

IN FAITH=in this world

“For in the gospel

The righteousness of God

Is revealed

A righteousness

That is BY FAITH

From first to last

Just as it is written

'The righteous 

Will live BY FAITH'”                                                                                            Romans 1:17

So let us KEEP LIVING

In the BEATITUDES

In this DIFFICULT WORLD

Let us FOLLOW

The example of Jesus=

And encourage others=

As we keep MOVING FORWARD

Today we=CELEBRATE the FAITH of=the great man=Saint Albert the GREAT=He

Was a man=OF DYNAMIC FAITH=and he was KNOWN=for his famous pupil=

Saint Thomas Aquinas too=These TWO MEN=were great in=THEIR OWN RIGHT=

But they are known=For their ability to EVANGELIZE=and too bring OTHER’S
HEARTS to God and Christ too=We should all=HAVE this ability=to have this

GREAT FAITH=as to bring OTHER’S HEARTS=to God and Jesus=Display your faith=and

LET IT SATURATE=into others=In today’s world too

 

“NOW FAITH is=The  CONFIDENCE in what=we HOPE for=and the assurance=about

What we do not see”                                                                                                                                        Hebrews 11:1

“AND WITHOUT FAITH=it is IMPOSSIBLE to=Please God=Because anyone who=

Comes to him=Must believe that he exists=and that he REWARDS those=who earnestly

The RETURN of Jesus=at some SUCH TIME=is definite=It is not just a POSSIBILITY=That

And when we have THIS FAITH=we HELP DRAW OTHER’S HEARTS=to the Father  and to

Saint Albert The Great=Brought his great LEARNED PUPIL=Saint Thomas Aquinas to

Faith=and all of us too=to BRING OUR HEARTS=to the Kingdom of God=That was Jesus’

Calling to all of us=to bring other HEARTS to=The Kingdom of God=So MY BROTHERS and sisters=

SHOW your great FAITH=IN bringing others to=THE KINGDOM OF GOD!

 

Dear Holy Father God=Saint Albert the GREAT=INSPIRED us all=with his GREAT INTELLECT

And Faith=He inspired=Our hearts=our minds=and our souls=PLEASE HELP US=Bring

That same FAITH=To other 21^st century apostles=IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD!=May we

INSPIRE OTHERS=In that same way

CHRIST NEEDS US

 

 

 

 

“Christ Needs Us”

 

All good human relationships

Are based on 3 things

Respect, trust, and need

 

This is true of

Husbands and wives

Parents and their children

And friends for friends

 

And it is true

Of our relationship with Jesus Christ

 

Jesus doesn’t coerce us

Jesus doesn’t compel us

To obey him

He allows us

To be free

 

He does this

Because he loves us

And because he needs us

 

When he was alive

He needed people

And today

He needs us

More than ever

 

He needed his Mother Mary

To be born

He needed his Father Joseph

To provide for him

He needed John the Baptist

To baptize him

And he needed his Apostles

To teach the word of God to

And to spread his word

After he was gone

 

But the job

Is only ½ done

And it is up to us

To continue

The Great Commission

And to spread the word of God

All over the world

 

It is true

 

What the poet wrote

"He has no hands

But your hands

He has no feet

But your feet

He has no lips

But your lips

And he has no love

But your love"

 

I need God and Our Lord

In my life

I can’t imagine a day without him

But he needs us too

 

Jesus is our friend

BECOME LIVING EXAMPLES!

WE are called to be=LIVING EXAMPLES!

Of our God’s love==his forgiveness=and

HIS KINDNESS=in today’s world

 

That is =WHAT SAMUEL WAS=the prophet=

WHO was the Son of Hannah=that Holy woman

Of our God

 

Today Samuel DESPAIRS= because his sons

Have become CORRUPT=and have failed to RULE        

Israel justly=They have SQUANDERED their

OPPORTUNITY from our God

 

“Now that you are OLD=and your sons

Do NOT FOLLOW YOUR EXAMPLE=appoint a king

Over us=as other nations have=to judge us”                                                                         1 Samuel 8:5

 

Let us=NOT TURN our back on God=like

The sons of Samuel=let us become LIVING EXAMPLES

Of our Holy Father God=and his Son Jesus

IN this world

 

Let us live=with GOD’S MERCY=and with

THE ETERNAL LOVE=of our Father

LIVING EXAMPLES!=of Jesus’ love=and forgiveness

In this world=and 21^st century apostles=let us

BECOME LIVING EXAMPLES!=of our God

 

“I have set you=AN EXAMPLE=that

You should do=as I have done for you”                                                                    John 13:15

 

“FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE=as I=follow

THE EXAMPLE of Christ”                                                                                         1 Corinthians 11:1

 

“Don’t let anyone=look down on you

Because you are young=but=SET AN EXAMPLE

For the believers in speech=in conduct

In love=in faith=and in purity”                                                                                 1 Timothy 4:12

 

WOW!=what a better world=it would be

IF MORE OF US=did this =or lived with

The FRUITS=of God’s Holy Spirit!

 

Many PARENTS=in today’s world=have REGRETS

Like our Samuel did=They have been GREAT EXAMPLES

Of love for their children=but their children=have

NOT FOLLOWED=God’s way of love

 

EVERY ONE of us=in this world=CHOOSES

Who or what=will BE KING=of their life

For me=it will ALWAYS BE=the Holy Father of God

And his Son Jesus Christ

 

And I will strive to be=A LIVING EXAMPLE

Of God’s love=for others=in this crazy-mixed up world

I HOPE=that you will too

BECOME LIVING EXAMPLES!=of our world

Of our God’s love=forgiveness =and KINDNESS

 

Be living=in the SPIRIT=the Holy Spirit

Of our God

“But the FRUIT=of the Spirit=is love-joy-peace-

Forbearance-kindness-goodness- faithfulness

Gentleness=and self-control=Against such things

There is no law”                                                                                                               Galatians 5:22-23

 

“To this=you were called=because Christ

Suffered for you=LEAVING YOU AN EXAMPLE

WHEN we believe=in the MERCY of OUR GOD

(Doing the RIGHT=and Honorable thing)

 

Jesus tells us=THAT FOLLOWING HIM=will not=always be EASY=He tells us=

IT IS THE WAY OF THE CROSS=and it is NOT always pleasurable=In fact=it is

A WAY=of giving ourselves IN SACRIFICE=of LOVING=it is=THE WAY=OF THE

CROSS!=The way of THE Lord is=all of that=”You will be HATED by all=Because

Of my name……..”                                                                                                                                   Luke 21:17

 

And that is the WAY it was=SOME 2,000 years ago=His apostles and disciples=

SUFFERED ridicule=hatred=PERSECUTION=betrayal=imprisonment=and even death=

And for some today=IT still is that way=But for many of us today=many of us Christians=

It is NOT that way=especially for you and me=But we still EXPERIENCE the coldness=

THE INDIFFERENCE=the ingratitude=the luke warmness=and ULTIMATE REJECTION=

Of our faith=and what WE BELIEVE=So pick UP=Your cross=and FOLLOW JESUS

Anywhere=DO THE RIGHT and honorable thing=and live SACRIFICIAL LOVE

 

“And  when your children=ask you’=’What does this CEREMONY=Mean to you?’=then

Tell them=’It is the PASSOVER SACRIFICE=to the Lord=who passed over=The houses of=

The Israelites in Egypt=and spared our homes=When he=Struck down the Egyptians’”

“MY SACRIFICE=Oh God=Is a broken spirit=A broken and contrite heart=You God=

Will not despise”                                                                                                                               Psalm 51:17

“For I desire mercy=NOT SACRIFICE=and acknowledgement of God=Rather than burnt

What is SACRIFICIAL LOVE?=It is DOING something for someone=WHEN it is inconvenient

For you=It is PICKING UP=the spirit of someone=WHO IS BROKEN=and encouraging them=

When they are FEELING DOWN=It is DOING THE RIGHT=and honorable thing=by REACHING

Out=to that person=In need=OVER and over again=It can be done=an ANY number of ways

 

BEING PATIENT=with an aging parent=Showing KINDNESS to a stranger=Giving TIME=to a

NEEDY CHILD=Donating to a cause=or even Just PRAYER to the Holy Father God and his SON=

Every single day of your life=The SUMBOL of Christianity is the CROSS=Not a lazy boy

Reclining chair=What is THIS THING=CALLED THE CROSS?

“Then he said to them’=’Whoever wants to be=My disciple=Must deny themselves=Take

Up their CROSS=Daily and follow me’”                                                                                                            Luke 9:23

“For Christ did NOT=send me to baptize=But to preach the gospel--------Not with wisdom

And eloquence=LEST the CROSS of Christ=Be emptied of its power”             1 Corinthians 1:17

“And having disarmed the powers and authorities=He made a public spectacle of them=

Triumphing over them=BY THE CROSS”                                                                                        Colossians 2:15

 

And so my sisters=and my BROTHERS=What is YOUR CROSS?==in your Christianity=that

IS making things UNCOMFORTABLE for you?=What is MAKING it tough for you=TO FOLLOW

The Lord?=to follow=THE WAY OF THE CROSS?=Whatever it is=Overcome it=CHOOSE THE

RIGHT and honorable way=OF FOLLOWING JESUS!=Choose love=CHOOSE SACRIFICE=Choose

THE WAY=of the CROSS!=”Whenever the living creatures=GIVE glory=HONOR and thanks=

To him=who sits on the throne=and who LIVES=forever and ever…….”                    Revelation 4:9

 

SO SISTERS and brothers=Choose the WAY OF THE CROSS=Choose the WAY OF LOVE=

Do the honorable and right thing ALWAYS!

In Jesus’ name=And in the name=OF our forever living=and forever loving HONORABLE

FATHER GOD=who always does=THE RIGHT THING!

GOD'S WAY TO OUR DESTINATION

When we are LOST=

On our way=to

Our destination

It is usually because-

WE are NOT FOLOWING

Our map or our GPS guide

SOMETIMES=we make a wrong turn

And we get lost

On our way too

LIFE is like that too=

Sometimes-we get OFF TRACK

And lose our way

We need to FOLLOW

The GPS of God=we need to do

Things his way=to get 

To OUR DESTINATION

“YOUR WAYS=O Lord

Make known to me=

Teach me your paths.......”                                                                                        Psalm 25:4

We don't want

To GET LOST on our way=

For we may

MISS=an important appointment-

Dinner-or special occasion

And we don't

Want to get lost

In our life=for HEAVEN'S KNOWS

What we may be missing

We need to FOLLOW

GOD'S WAY

To arrive at our destination=

Or we=may never

Get there at all

We need to KEEP

Our spiritual life

On track too=

Let's all follow

GOD'S WAY to our DESTINATION

“Commit your WAY

To the Lord=

Trust in him 

And he will do this.......”                                                                                         Psalm 37:5

“Start children off

ON THE WAY

They should go

And even when

They are old-

They will not turn from it”                                                                                        Proverbs 22:6

“But when you are tempted-

He(GOD)-will also

Provide a WAY

So that you

Can endure it”                                                                                                    1 Corinthians 10:13

Sometimes life goes OFF TRACK

Because we try

And do things

OUR OWN WAY

We don't want to do things

The right way=GOD'S WAY=

We get off of

OUR SPIRITUAL GPS

“.......by a new

AND LIVING WAY

Opened for us

Through the curtain

That is his body”                                                                                                 Hebrews 10:20

Sometimes we might MISS our path

That we are supposed to be on

Because we we are BLINDED

By our own biases

Or the expectations of others

But when we spend

MORE TIME with God praying=

Our spiritual road map

Becomes CLEAR=

We FIND our way

With our SPIRITUAL GPS

Follow GOD'S LOVE=

Follow God's directions=and he

Will take you

To your PROPER DESTINATION

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS GUIDING FATHER!

Turning the other cheek

God’s way is near

Hatred likes to make distance
