The TIME span of Genesis=Covers more time=than the other

65 BOOKS=of the bible combined

 

TITLE

The title Genesis=means “BEGINNING”

The Hebrew word=bereshith means “in the beginning”

 

BACKGROUND

Genesis is the first book=Of five books written by Moses=also called

The Pentateuch

 

The first 11 chapters=Cover from Eden to Ur=and

The next 39 chapters=Covers from Canaan to Egypt=This book

IS THE BASIS=for all further REVELATION=About God=and his plan

For MAN

 

WHERE WRITTEN

On Mount Sinai=Where Moses RECEIEVES his revelation for man

 

WRITTEN FOR WHOM=

Genesis is written=for the Israelites=but the

MESSAGES ARE TIMELESS=and

 

THE PROMISES God MAKES=is about HIS LOVE=and the

REDEMPTION of mankind Through Jesus Christ

 

CONTENT

God BRINGS all creation=Into being=THROUGH HIS WORD

 

 

The creation is PERFECT=Until man FOLLOWS Satan

Instead=Of TRUSTING God=and Following his plan

 

The sins of Adam and Eve=RESULT in spiritual death=and leads to

FILLING the world with hate=violence=and disobedience=SIN PREVAILS

 

Until GOD==Uses a flood to Destroy mankind=EXCEPT

For the righteous Noah and his Family=SIN still sweeps the land

And the people=BUILD the huge tower of Babel=In defiance of God

 

But God NEVER stops loving us=and the last 39 chapters REVEAL

How God=Through the Family of Abraham=SAVES his people

Through FELLOWSHIP with him=The book closes with THE CHOSEN PEOPLE

In Egypt

EVEN though we sin=God will NOT ABANDON=or give up on us

Even though we FAIL GOD=OUR GOD LOVES US=and sees our worth and value

 

The LORD=has a PLAN=for every single life=and it Includes salvation

And OBEDIENCE for HIS WORD

 

God has the LOVE=as well as THE POWER=to PROTECT and provide for us=

If we place OUR FAITH in him
