OUR GOD=DRAWS CLOSER TO US=

(Through OUR FEARS and DOUBTS)

 

THE RISEN Jesus=Constantly Greeted his apostles=SAYING’=’PEACE

Be with you’”=For the SUDDEN PRESENCE of Jesus=After his death=The

Risen Jesus=KNEW it would make them AFRAID=”PEACE BE WITH YOU”   John 20:19

 

THE RESURRECTION=Of our Jesus=Is the ONLY human experience Like this=

In human history=ONE such example of this=Is Jesus’ ENCOUNTER with=

The apostle Thomas=And Thomas’ encounter with Jesus=MOVES him=

From fear and doubt=To a PERSON=with deeper PEACE and faith=Our

God DRAWS CLOSER to Thomas=and the other apostles=Just as he draws

CLOSER TO US=As we FIGHT Through=Our daily fears and doubts=to

BECOME PEOPLE of faith=Just like the EARLY APOSTLES

 

“No one can=Come to me=Unless the Father=Who sent me=DRAWS THEM=and

I will raise them up=On the last day”                                                                                                   John 6:44

“And I=When I am lifted up=From the earth=WILL DRW ALL PEOPLE to myself”          John 12:32

“……..Let us=DRAW NEAR to God=With a sincere heart=and with the full assurance=

That faith brings=Having our hearts sprinkled=To cleanse us from……..”                          Hebrews 10:22

 

The apostle Thomas=DOUBTED that Jesus=Had appeared to the other apostles=

But Jesus came back=and APPEARED to Thomas and said=”Put your finger here=

See my hands=Reach out your hand=and PUT into my side=STOP DOUBTING and

Believe”                                                                                                                                                                    John 20:27

And that is GREAT ADVICE=to all of us=For we all=ME and you=have doubts=just

As Thomas did=So we should NOT be so hard on Saint Thomas=GOD DREW CLOSER=

To Saint Thomas=After the Resurrection=Just as he DRAWS CLOSER to us=His 21st

CENTURY CHRISTIAN APOSTLES

 

“The Lord is=CLOSE to the broken hearted=and saves those who are=Crushed in spirit”

                                                                                                                                                                                      Psalm 34:18

“He tends his flock=Like a shepherd=He gathers the lambs=in his arms=and carries them=

CLOSE to his heart=He gently leads those=that have young”                                                        Isaiah 40:11

“Their leader will be=One of their own=Their ruler will arise=from among them=I

Will bring him near=and he will=COME CLOSE TO ME=-------For who is he=Who will

Devote himself=To be CLOSE TO ME?”                                                                                               Jeremiah 30:21

 

THROUGH our fears=Through our DEEPEST DOUBTS=Our God=DRAWS CLOSER

To us=Just as he did with Saint Thomas=and the other apostles=God=Jesus=Through

His life=His cross=and RESURRECTION=Conquered all fears and doubts=That plague

OUR HUMAN HEARTS=”No=in all these things=We are MORE THAN CONQUERORS=

Through him=who loved us=For I am CONVINCED

 

That neither death nor life=Neither angel nor demons=Neither the present=nor the

Future=Nor any powers=Neither Height nor depth=Nor anything else=In all creation=

Will be able to=SEPARATE US-from the LOVE of God=That is in Christ Jesus our Lord” 

                                                                                                                                                                              Romans 8:37-38

 

Dear Lord=WE PRAY=on this our DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY=That we REALIZE=That

All our doubts and fears=INCLUDING our present doubts and fears=ARE OVERCOME

THROUGH the life=Death=and REURRECTION=of Christ our LORD!=as well as=the

EVER LIVING=ever loving=ever CONQUEROR OF FEARS=Our Holy Father God
