The Resurrection and Mary Magdaleneac
Picture this
Your best friend
And teacher has died
The only person
That has ever
Really and truly
Believed in you
You go to the tomb
To collect the body
There is
No body there
“Don’t be alarmed,” (
the man says )
“I know you are looking
For Jesus of Nazareth
Who was crucified.
He is not here,
He has been raised!
Now go
And give the message
To his disciples.” (
Mark 16:6-7 )
You feel
A plethora of feelings/emotions
Confusion, happiness, bewilderment
You really
Are not sure
What you feel
What you believe
But you decide
To do what the man said
You run
To the rest of your friends
You say,
“They have taken
The Lord out of the tomb
And we don’t know
Where they put him”
You and his other best friend
Simon Peter
Run back to the tomb
There still
Is no body there
Slowly
It is dawning on you
What your best friend Jesus
Has been teaching you
All along
At this
Your dear friend---Jesus
Appears to you and says,
“Woman, why are you crying”
You do not recognize him
And reply,
“They have taken my Lord away
And I do not know
Where they have put him”
Then you recognize him and say
“Teacher”
He says,
“Go and tell our friends
The good news”
You run
As fast as you can
To tell
The rest of your friends
That your friend, Jesus
Is indeed alive
Dear Lord
Your Resurrection
Has changed everything for us
And has made everything old---new
We pray to you---Dear Lord
That your life
Will fill our
Bodies, souls, hearts, and minds
With your new life
AND UNENDING FAITH

Ps Dear
Lord,
We thank
you for your life, your death, your Resurrection
And the
gift of testimony and faith that you have left us with.
We know
that we live in a fallen world---that our world desperately
Needs you. Please
help us to make the WORD of GOD come alive and become
Relevant again in today’s world.
HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE and HAPPY PASSOVER to ALL my JEWISH
