MILES AND MILES OF HEART

 

 

 

 

 

 

MILES AND MILES=OF HEART!

 

WHILE in the hospital=the first week= I SAW

ONE of my most favorite old movies=it is called

“THE REPLACEMENTS”=and it is about a football team=

That goes out on strike

 

But management=RECONSTRUCTS a new team=to

PLAY the games=you get the picture=Gene Hackman=plays

Coach Jimmy McGinty=and he becomes MORE PROUD

Of his new football team=than the old one

He tells his team=You gotta have heart

“MILES AND MILES OF HEART”

 

Somehow=I feel=that is how Jesus=must have felt

About his apostles and disciples=some 2,000 years ago=

He knew his people=HAD HEART=THE HEART OF God=the

Heart=OF A CHAMPION

 

Jesus=and THE Holy Father God=feel that way=about us too

He KNOWS=we have the LOVE OF GOD=living inside of us=He knows

We are=HIS 21^st century apostles=and he knows=we have

MILES AND MILES=OF HEARTS=full of love

That we have=THE HEART OF GOD=Living

Inside of us

 

“If anyone forces you=to go one MILE=

Go with them two miles”                                                                                                                  Matthew 5:41

 

Jesus HAND PICKED his team=to go on=WITH HEART

After he was gone=He knew this “RAGTAG TEAM”=would

Come through=get the job done=with their lives=for he knew

THEY HAD HEART=Just like Jimmy McGinty=KNEW his

REPLACEMENT TEAM=would get the job done=Jesus KNEW

HIS TEAM=would give their lives=for him=for THEY HAD HEART

MILES AND MILES OF HEART

 

“But if from there=You seek the Lord your God=you will

Find him=if you seek him=WITH ALL YOUR HEART=and with

All your soul”                                                                                                                                    Deuteronomy 4:29

 

“But be very careful=to keep the commandment=and the law

That Moses=the servant of the Lord=gave you=to love

The Lord your God=to walk in obedience to him=to keep

His commands=to hold fast to him=and to serve him with

ALL YOUR HEART=and with all your soul”                                                                          Joshua 22:5

 

MY DEAR FRIENDS=Jesus and his apostles=WON

At the game of life=because they were 100%ers=because

They gave=ALL of themselves to a cause=they BELIEVED IN

 

They did this because=they had=MILES AND MILES OF HEART

They committed themselves=to SOMETHING=bigger than themselves

They BELIEVED in Jesus’ dream personally=and WON=with their love

And changed the world

 

“I press on=toward the goal=to WIN THE PRIZE=for which

God has called-me heavenward=In Christ Jesus”                                                                Philippians 3:14

 

“…….so that your daily life=MAY WIN=the respect of outsiders=and

So that you will not=Be dependent on anybody”                                                                1 Thessalonians 4:12

 

My dear brothers and sisters=my dear friends=Like

Coach McGinty’s squad=we are THE REPLACEMENTS=for Jesus

His rag tag team=IN THIS the 21^st century=We are the 21^st

Century apostles=of Christ=and HIS Heavenly Father God

 

We too can=CHANGE THE WORLD=If we stay anchored in

THE LOVE=of our Heavenly Father God=and his Son Christ Jesus

We can do it=If we just have

MILES AND MILES OF HEART!

 

In Christ’s love=and IN the Love of our Heavenly Father God=the GODS

Of life and love
