The SINS of=The PRINCE OF TYRE
-Ezekiel prophesies again Tyre=THE COMMERCIAL HARBOR City
Of the Phoenicians=North of Israel
-Ezekiel will now=SPEAK AGAINST=The city of Tyre
THE PRINCE OF TYRE
-The FUNDAMENTAL SIN=Of the PRINCE of Tyre=was PRIDE
He called himself a
“GOD”
-He glorified himself=and his city
But GOD KNEW=The
Prince of Tyre=Was no god
The PRINCE=thought he was=WISER THAN DANIEL
-The Prince of Tyre=THOUGHT he was INVINCIBLE=and thought
He was a God
-The PRINCE of Tyre=was NOT CONDEMNED=because he was rich
But because=He was CORRUPTED=by his riches
LINES 6-10
JUDGMENT UPON=The prince of Tyre
-Because=The PRINCE thought he was a GOD=
JUDGMENT WAS COMING
--OTHER NATIONS would destroy=The beauty and SPLENDOR of
Tyre
-They will THROW YOU=Into the PIT=The downfall of Tyre=and
its leadership
OTHER NATIONS=would expose the HUMANITY=of the PRINCE OF
TYRE
He would be HUMBLED=a disgraceful DEATH WAS COMING
LINES 11-15
The lamentation for=THE KING OF TYRE
-The GLORY of=the PRIVILEGE of=The PRICE OF TYRE
Ezekiel SPEAKS to=the King of Tyre
-THE PRINCE=or the King of Tyre=was just a human KING
-He was SINNING=and heading for a=SPIRITUAL FALL
-God did NOT describe the King of Tyre=the way
The KING=Thought he was
But as a BEING=of great perfection=wisdom and beauty
The KING of Tyre=Thought of himself=as NO HUMAN KING
(He referred to
EDEN=and the Garden of Eden)
The King of Tyre was=SATAN HIMSELF=a great
ADVERSARY to God and humanity=The King of Tyre was=LIKE
SATAN HIMSELF
(COVERED by God=and glory and splendor=UNTIL THE FALL)
God was COVERING HIM=Like he did Satan
Satan=had a SIGNIFICANT ROLE=In the music of HEAVEN
Before his fell
Satan was an ANGELIC CHERUB=Before his fall
The CHERUBS surrounded God’s throne=with their WINGS
-SATAN had great PRIVILEGES=from God=Before his fall
He was given a POSITION=Of great BEAUTY=wisdom and adornment
-Satan was on the HOLY MOUNTAIN=Before the fall
Ie. MOUNT ZION
-INIQUITY=was found in Satan
Ezekiel tells us=THE KING OF TYRE=was Satan himself
CORRUPTION=In the cherubs=IN Satan=and the King of Tyre
LINES 16-19
THE PRIDE and The INIQUITY of=THE KING OF TYRE
-God spoke of=Satan’s
sins=and the King of Tyre’s sins=as the same
-TYRE focused only on
WINNING and profit
The King had a=CORRUPT SPIRIT=Wanted to be exalted
ABOVE ALL OTHERS
=Satan had a BATTLE=with God and humanity=But humanity was
TO BE MADE=IN the Image of God=But
The King of Tyre was CORRUPT
THE EXPULSION of Satan
from heaven=The 4 falls of Satan
This referred to the 2nd=He wanted to BE
GLORRIFIED
SATAN’S SIN was PRIDE=His heart was SWELLED with his=Own
sense of BEAUTY
And splendor
-God RESISTS THE PROUD=and GIVES GRACE=to the humble
-Satan’s fall was PUBLIC=and dramatic=and the WORLD would
know of
THE FALL OF=The King of Tyre=Ie. GOD’S JUDGMENT WAS COMING
-The FOCUS ON PROFIT=Ruined ancient Tyre=The focus on
WINNING and POWER=Was the CORRUPTION OF=The King of Tyre
-The NATIONS WERE HORRIFIED=at the JUDGMENT upon Satan/Tyre
LINES 20-23
THE PROPHECY against Sidon
Sidon was another Phoenician city=GOD JUDGED THEM TOO
GOD WOULD GLORIFY HIMSELF=Because Sidon had sinned too
Line 24=
BLESSINGS TO ISRAEL=In the JUDGMENT upon=Nebuchadnezzar
nations
Israel’s neighbors =were NO LONGER THREATS
=God WOULD REVEAL=his
Holy and RIGHTEOUS NATURE=
They would KNOW=He was the LORD!
LINES 25-26
THE PROMISE TO RESTORE ISRAEL!
Ezekiel=Looked forward to the GATHERING of his people!=and
BACK to their land=They would be BACK=In their land in
ISRAEL!
Ezekiel looked forward to THIS RESTORATION!
ONLY partially restored in=TODAY’S WORLD
YET another way=for YAHWEH=to REVEAL HIMSELF to the WORLD
