THE ASSUMPTION

 

 

The Assumption

Of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Is the principal feast
of churches

Dedicated to Mary

Without any further title

 

GOD NEEEDED MARY

To fulfill his plan for salvation

And Mary

IS the flesh and blood of Jesus

THE HOLY ONE

That the Lord

Would not allow to see corruption

 

The ASSUMTION

Refers to Mary’s

BEING ASSUMED both body and soul

To heavenly glory-

 

SHE DID NOT DIE

 

On November 1^st, 1950

Pope Pius XIIth

Solemnly proclaimed it

As a DIVINELY REVEALED truth

 

“That the IMMACULATE MOTHER OF GOD

The ever-virgin Mary

On the completion of her earthly life

Was assumed

Body and soul into heaven”

 

By the Vth century

August 15^th was kept at Jerusalem

As the commemoration

Of the Assumption

Of the BLESSED Virgin Mary

 

In determining

That the Assumption of Mary

Become DOGMA in faith

And with pressure

From every diocese in the world

 

Pope Pius XIIth

Asked two questions:

 

1. Do you judge

That the bodily assumption

Of the BLESSED VIRGIN MARY

Can be proposed and defined

AS A DOGMA OF FAITH?

 

2. Do you

And your clergy and people

Desire it

 

The answer to both questions

Were a resounding yes

 

And then

We have the Coronation

Of Mary in Revelation 12:1

 

“A GREAT and wondrous sign

APPEARED in heaven:

 

A woman clothed with the sun

With the moon

Under her feet

And a crown of twelve stars

On her head”

 

Mary is so closely

Associated with the mysteries

Of Jesus’ life

From birth

To the first miracle-

The wedding feast at Cana

And being present

At the crucifixion

 

That it is not surprising

That the Holy Spirit

Has led the Church

TO BELIEF

In Mary’s share

In his glorification

 

She was SO CLOSE

To Jesus on earth

That she must be with him

BOTH BODYAND SOUL

IN HEAVEN
