Egypt =MONSTER of the seas

DESTINED FOR HELL

 

Pharaoh=and Egypt=as a MONSTER of the sea

 

LINES 1-2

Pharaoh=Like a LION=or  a monster

Of the sea

 

PROPHECY=12^th year=12^th month=1^st day of the month

A YEAR=after the FALL of Jerusalem

 

LAMENTATION ON EGYPT=

Pharaoh could NOT HELP Judah

 

Egypt 2^nd=IN POWER TO BABYLON

605 BC=Babylon won battle=of Carchemish with Egypt

 

But EGYPT=was still=A GREAT FORCE

 

LINES 3-8

God will SLAY and disgrace the SEA MONSTER

-Representing Pharaoh

 

God PROMISED TO CAPTURE Egypt=in a net=and drag him=TO LAND

WHERE he would be FOOD=for birds and beasts

 

-DEFEAT AND DEATH of Pharaoh=would be

GOOD For the world

Ie.   Like water to Land

PLAGUE for Egypt=IN MOSES’  day

 

DARKNESS over the land=Like

The 9^th plague of MOSES

 

GOD JUDGED EGYPT before=and would do it again

Ie.    Darkness and Plague

 

GOD was BETTER=than the IDOLS=that Egypt had

GOD WOULD EXALT HIMSELF!

 

LINES 9-10

There was FEAR AND ASTONISHMENT=among the nations

At Pharaoh’s fall

 

-OTHER PEOPLE would be TROUBLED=at Egypt’s

And Pharaoh’s=FALL FROM GRACE

 

The peoples and the KINGS=would be AFRAID=because=IF

God could BRING DOWN Egypt and Pharaoh=It could come to

OTHER NATIONS TOO

 

LINES 11-16

JUDGMENT by=THE SWORD=of Babylon

 

The KING of Babylon=His army and sword

WERE coming For Egypt

 

Babylon WOULD DESTROY=The multitudes of Egypt

Ie.   Pomp and Plunder=Egypt was a WEALTHY NATION

 

-The animals of Egypt=would be DESTROYED TOO

Ie.    Riverbanks would be desolate=From foot of man=and

Hoofs of animals

 

BOTH the surviving remnant of Egypt=Of Egypt=and other nations

Would LAMENT in sorrow=For Egypt

 

LINES 17-21

The 7^th Prophecy against Egypt

 

-Egypt dragged down to=THE PIT of the grave

12^th year=15^th day of month=LAST of prophecies against Egypt

 

ONE year=after the FALL of Jerusalem

-About 2 weeks later than previous  PROPHECY

 

-Egypt would be CAST=Into the pits of the earth

-Egypt was BEAUTIFUL=but its DESTINY was=AGONY AND DISGRACE

 

Egypt Uncircumcised=LAYING IN HELL=Egypt

WOULD be=Slain by the sword

 

LINES 22-30

Egypt will JOIN other nations=IN the pit of the grave

Ie.   Assyria and Edom

 

These nations were STRONG and  mighty=Assyria and Egypt

God’s JUDGMENT on Egypt=would be DISGRACE  and damnation

Other countries INCLUDE Assyria=Elam=Mishley=Tudal=and Edom

The NORTH and all The Sidonians=were ALL IN HELL

 

LINES 31-32

THE SWORD OF JUDGMENT On Egypt

 

-THE COMFORT for Pharaoh=Would come from KNOWING

HIS=was NOT the only nation=Facing shame and DISGRACE=

IN JUDGMENT FROM GOD

 

God brought ANOTHER JUDGMENT =to Egypt through Ezekiel

God WOULD BRING  TERROR TOO
