LOOKING FOR OUR LORD

 

LOOKING FOR OUR LORD

WHEN our Lord was 12

He went missing

He had been missing

A number of days

IMAGINE how his mother-Mary-

And father-Joseph-

Must have felt

From time-to-time

I/we get AMBER ALERTS

For missing children

I always FEEL EMPATHY

For the parents

As well as the children

As I admit

I am a sucker

FOR HAPPY ENDINGS

“AFTER three days(Mary and Joseph)

Found Jesus in the temple-

SITTING in the midst of the teachers

Listening to them-and asking them questions........”                                   Luke 2:46

Fortunately-for Mary and Jesus-

it was a happy ending

(and fortunately for Jesus and us too)

He was just 

IN the home of GOD-HIS FATHER-and ours

Learning about him

And fortunately for the parents

And our CHILDREN

There are some other happy endings too

But as sad as it is to say-

That is NOT always the way that it ends

We too-

The apostles and disciples

Of today

ARE also looking for the LORD

But not always in a physical way

But in a spiritual and emotional way

We just NEED to know that

God is ALWAYS THERE

“LOOK to the Lord

And his strength

Seek his face always”                                                              Psalm 105:4

“Then they will call me

But I will not answer

They will look for me

But will not find me”                                                           Proverbs 1:28

I am SURE Mary and Joseph

Were freaking out

The second and third days

That they could not find Jesus

And I am sure ALL parents

FREAK OUT-as they keep looking

For their children

And we all freak out

Each and every day

WHEN our problems

Are proving to be INSURMOUNTABLE

But we KEEP looking

Until we find the answers

To our problems

We must keep

LOOKING FOR THE LORD

“You ought to 

LIVE holy and godly lives

As you look forward

To the day of GOD

And speed its coming

….....

But in keeping with his PROMISE

We are looking forward

To a new heaven and a new earth

WHERE RIGHTEOUSNESS PREVAILS”                                          2 Peter 3:12-13

So when we are freaking out

Physically-emotionally-and spiritually-

Or ALL of the above

KEEP LOOKING FOR THE LORD

And keep putting your TRUST in him

Your FAITH will be rewarded
