For the Love of Us All

TODAY-MAY 2^nd, 2013 IS A NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER

NATIONAL DAY OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Today September 12^th, 2011

Is the National Day of Encouragement

We are all

On a journey

On this road we call life

And as Christians

We are to love God

And to encourage each other

On this journey

“Preach the word

Be prepared in season and out of season

Correct, rebuke, and encourage

With great patience and careful instruction”                                         2 Timothy 4:2

“Similarly encourage the young men

To be self-controlled

In everything set them an example

By doing what is good

In your teaching

Show integrity, seriousness,

And soundness of speech

That cannot be condemned

So that those who oppose you

May be ashamed

Because they have

Nothing bad to say about us”                                                          Titus 2:6-8

Where are the role models

For our young men and women

Of today

Hollywood leaves a lot

To be desired

So do our athletes

The politicians

Have let us down

Main stream religion

Is often questionable

I had my father

I had my uncle John

I had other family

To look up to

And they did not let me down

But today

On this National Day of Encouragement

Where and who do the young men and women

Look to

We can look back to

The one perfect example---Jesus Christ

We can look back to---the Apostles

And other men like Paul and Barnabas---

( whose name means Son of Encouragement )

And most of all

We can look to each other

Hold each other accountable

And build each other up

“Therefore encourage one another

And build each other up

Just as in fact you are doing”                                                        1 Thessalonians 5:11

And if we can find no one

Or nothing else to encourage us

Only God

We must

Look deep within ourselves

And find the strength

To be a source of encouragement

To others
