VISION-SECOND SIGHT Do you think God has vision for your LIFE VISION is defined as the faculty Or state of being able to SEE: A SUPERNATURAL apparition Maybe call it DESTINY Maybe call it FATE But I BELIEVE That God has a PLAN for all of our lives And it is ALL GOOD If we-just cooperate And if we don't cooperate GOD GIVES us another chance Call it SECOND SIGHT-if you will Like Saint Paul Who when he was Saul Didn't get it right But in SECOND SIGHT-As Paul He went on To be-perhaps the GREATEST APOSTLE of Christ That the world has ever seen “So then-King Agrippa-I was NOT disobedient To the VISION from heaven” Acts 26:19 LIKE Saint Paul I did not get it right The first time I was CONVINCED That God's plan FOR MY LIFE Was through a family And children of my own But NOW I AM CONVINCED That I-as all of you BELONG to the FAMILY OF GOD And we ARE to BUILD UP GOD'S KINGDOM In this world “BEHOLD-the Kingdom of God IS AMONG YOU” Luke 17:21 SCIENCE has made Wonderful strides In the partial and nearly complete restoration Of human beings' sight But of course GOD'S PLAN Is even more complete Of course-we have Peter and Paul and ALL the other apostles and disciples Who after getting it wrong Went on To BUILD the KINGDOM SECOND SIGHT And it is NOT ONLY for our churches today But it is ENCUMBENT On you and me To do WHAT we can In thought In word And in deed To build up the kingdom Maybe you Are like me And ONLY can do it Through the written word Due to a disability-or a time factor Or some other limitation REMEMBER “The PEN Is mightier than the sword” Regardless Of what it may be YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS are wanted In the building up Of the KINGDOM GOD'S VISION IS PERFECT But for us It may need A SECOND SIGHT OUR VISION Can become PERFECT Through the HEALING SIGHT Of our Lord “PRECIOUS in the sight of the LORD Is the death of his saints” Psalm 116:15 NOT only the death Of his saints BUT ALSO THE LIVES Dear Lord-WE PRAY That when We get the original plan Of our lives wrong That you BESTOW on us Like you did for Peter and Paul SECOND SIGHT And with another chance WE SEE our lives With the 20/20 VISION That you gave us And we USE this gift IN THE BUILDING UP Of the kingdom Of God Robert p. YE OF LITTLE FAITH

YE OF LITTLE FAITH Today in Mark chapter 4 We read about Jesus CALMING the storm On the water But Jesus can also HEAL the storms of our life If we but give him a chance And have a LITTLE FAITH “Leaving the crowd- The disciples took Jesus with them In the boat Just as he was And other boats With him” Mark 4:36 Thank God- Jesus was with the apostles To CALM the storms On the water Thank God- Jesus is HERE To quiet the storms of our life With just a little faith Ye of little faith “Early in the morning They left For the desert of Tekoa As they set out- Jehoshaphat-stood and said, 'Listen to me- Judah and people of Jerusalem- HAVE FAITH in the Lord your God And you will be upheld Have faith in the prophets And you will be successful'” 2 Chronicles 20:20 And in chapter 15 Of Matthew We read about the FAITH Of a Canaanite woman- “Then Jesus said to her- 'Woman you have great faith Your request is granted'” Matthew 15:28 And back to Mark-chapter 4 For a moment “He got up and rebuked The man and said to the waves- 'Be quiet-be still' Then the wind died down And it was completely calm” Mark 4:4-39 “He said to his disciples, 'WHY are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?'” Mark 4:40 YE OF LITTLE FAITH And what about me and you And our problems In this 20th/21st centuries PROBLEMS of health And chronic illness Problems with work and money OUE RELATIONSHIP and friendship issues Don't you think God has the POWER To HEAL these issues of ours too Ye of little faith WHERE is OUR FAITH? All we need-as Jesus tells us is: “THE FAITH OF A MUSTARD SEED” “What shall we say The kingdom of God-is like Or what parable Should we use to describe it- It is like a mustard seed Which is the smallest Of ALL seeds on earth Yet when planted It grows and becomes the largest Of all garden plants With such big branches That the birds Can perch in the shade” Mark 4:30-32 DEAR LORD-we your disciples Of this world- PRAY for just a little bit Of your faith For with it-with your leadership WE too could CHANGE the world Make us into people of GREAT FAITH- no longer people of just little faith For with FAITH We can shed your LIGHT On this world Robert P. TEMPTATIONS-CHOICES-WHERE IS YOUR SELF-CONTROL?

TEMPTATIONS-CHOICES- WHERE IS YOUR SELF-CONTROL ONE of the things That we all struggle with Is temptation-sexual temptation Today's readings are about The choices that we MAKE When we come-face-to-face With sexual temptation King David becomes aroused By the unexpected sight Of Bathsheba bathing Bathsheba-a married woman- Sleeps with David And becomes pregnant He tries a cover-up And when his plan fails He arranges for her husband- Uriah-to be killed “Place Uriah up front Where the fighting is fierce Then pull back And leave him To be struck down dead” 2 Samuel 11:15 David comes face-to-face With temptation And he succumbs David's initial sexual arousal Is NOT the problem -That is a natural Human response The problem is David succumbs And gets in deeper and deeper WITH each decision that he makes Where is his self-control? “Like a city Whose walls are broken through Is a person who lacks self-control” Proverbs 25:28 “Do not deprive each other Except perhaps-by mutual consent And for a time So that you may DEVOTE yourself to prayer Then come together again So that Satan Will not tempt you Because of your lack of self-control” 1 Corinthians 7:15 (From Paul's dissertation on married life) And ALL good sincere Christians know That if you are not married ABSTINENCE-is the only real choice And we know as Christians There are only two ways To defend against temptation- Ant type of temptation 1. FLEE the situation 2. And using the WORD OF GOD King David did neither He gravitated toward the situation And made one wrong choice after another “Watch and pray So that you Will not fall into temptation The spirit is willing But the FLESH is weak” Matthew 26:41 “Now CHOOSE LIFE So that you and your children May live And that you May LOVE the Lord your God Listen to his voice And hold fast to him” Deuteronomy 30:19-20 One thing is for CERTAIN In life You will come Face-to-face With ALL kinds of temptation In this world Including sexual temptation CHOOSE GOD-CHOOSE LIFE Defend yourself-by doing the right thing Either flee- Or USE the WORD of God THE CHOICE IS YOURS Robert P. GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET

GOD IS NOT FINISHED WITH YOU YET Whoever you are Wherever you are NO MATTER how much You have been through No matter How far-or overwhelming It seems PLEASE know this: God is NOT FINISHED With you yet And God will HELP you find Your mission in life And COMPLETE IT “Then King David Went in and sat Before the Lord-and said- 'Who am I, Lord God, And who are the members Of my house, That you have brought me To this point?'” 2 Samuel 7:18 Basically-King David-is asking “Why me?” Why do I Have to go through this And it's a point That we ALL get to At some point in our life WHY ME? God is NOT finished With you yet Your life is not yet complete And God will help you Get through Whatever it is that you have To get through “I thank my God EVERY TIME I remember you In all my prayers For ALL of you I always pray with JOY Because of your partnership In the gospel From the first day-until now Being CONFIDENT of this That he who began A good work in you Will carry it on to COMPLETION Until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:3-6 It is as they say: “If God brings you to it- He will bring you through it” God is NOT FINISHED with you yet No matter what heartaches And disappointments Are in your past Or what you might be enduring RIGHT NOW God has a plan and a purpose For it A plan and a purpose FOR YOUR LIFE “But the plans of the Lord STAND FIRM forever The purposes of his heart Through all generations” Psalm 33:11 “COMMIT to the Lord Whatever you do And he will establish Your plans” Proverbs 16:3 It is ONLY in Looking back-in retrospect That we can understand Why certain things happened In our life But one thing that I am SURE OF is that GOD ISN'T FINISHED WITH YOU YET- Or me In each of us He is BUILDING a palace And he is-GOD IS THE MASTER BUILDER Robert P. GOD IS THE MASTER FARMER

GOD IS THE MASTER FARMER As servants of God- As servants of Christ- As their apostles and disciples In the 20th and 21st century It falls upon us To SPREAD the word of God We don't know Who will be receiving that word If anybody And who will not God is the MASTER FARMER “A sower went out to sow” Mark 4:3 Today's reading Mark 4:1-20 Is about the parable Of the sower A reading that almost ALL 20th and 21st Christians know The truth is That when a farmer farms NOT all of his efforts PRODUCE good crops And the truth is too WHEN we spread the word of God Not all of our efforts Produce fruit-in other words- REACH people who are receptive To the word of God “The fruit of the righteous Is a tree of life And the one who is wise SAVES LIVES” Proverbs 11:30 “Likewise Every good fruit Bears good fruit But a bad fruit Bears bad fruit A good tree Cannot bear bad fruit And a bad tree Cannot bear good fruit EVERY tree That does not bear good fruit Is cut down And thrown into the fire Thus by their fruit You will RECOGNIZE THEM” Matthew 7:17-18 God is the master farmer It is ONLY GOD Who can make the WORD OF GOD Grow inside someone It is God who determines Who the good fruit are When we put The word of God out Some falls on rich soil And grows Some fall on the path And are rejected Some words Fall on rocky ground And are uprooted by the people With selfish values And other words Fall among the thorns That injustice chokes off But the words That fall on good ground LASTS FOREVER in those individuals And in the world “Heaven and earth will pass away But my words Will never pass away” Luke 21:33 God's words-Jesus' words- LIVE IN ME God-the DIVINE-the MASTER FARMER-LIVES ON in me Robert P. THAT PERSONAL TOUCH

THAT PERSONAL TOUCH Two thousand years ago It wasn't quite so easy To keep in touch with people No telephone-no face book- No instagram-e-mail-or even twitter PERSONAL TOUCH ONLY “For God did not give us A spirit of cowardice But rather of power And love-and self-control” 2 Timothy 1:7 Don't get me wrong=I use Face book and e-mails daily But I have never sent a text In my life-NOT even one I still like to give people A HUG- HAND WRITE notes and cards And send birthday cards THAT PERSONAL TOUCH “She said to herself, 'If I only TOUCH his cloak I will be HEALED'” “Jesus said to her, 'Take heart daughter,' He said, 'Your FAITH has healed you' And the woman was healed At that moment” Matthew 9:21-22 In Jesus' time ALL they had Was personal talk- And personal touch Research-suggests- That people's hearts and minds ARE more likely to be changed By PERSONAL CONTACT And-by my own experience- I LOVE the one-on-one contact The one-on-one approach The one-on-one phone call- the one-on-one e-mails And one-on-one personal talk/touch Through HUGS-notes-cards-etc., Jesus KNEW- Jesus understood that this is The BEST form of contact TOUCH ME-HEAL ME Jesus did MOST oh HIS HEALING One-on one “He sent out HIS WORD And healed them He rescued them From the grave” Psalm 107:20 Jesus sent out the twelve “HEAL the sick Raise the dead Cleanse those Who have leprosy FREELY you have received Freely give” Matthew 10:8 And today-we are his apostles We are the 12 I WISH I could sit down And tell every single person in this world HOW MUCH God loves us/LOVES THEM How much God loves EACH and every one of us- INDIVIDUALLY GOD'S POWER of love God's power to CHANGE the world Comes from that personal touch That personal contact May you FEEL it today If not from me From someone that you LOVE & respect From someone with whom you have THAT PERSONAL TOUCH Robert P. TRANSFORMED FROM THE INSIDE OUT

TRANSFORMED FROM THE INSIDE OUT Today we CELEBRATE-possibly-probably The greatest transformation project In history The CONVERSION of Saint Paul You know the story-how Saul Went from a man Who persecuted Christians To perhaps the GREATEST EVANGELIST- Paul-in Christian history And it makes me think About my own transformation- Since I had a birthday A few days ago About HOW God transformed me From a young man- In his early 20's- TRYING to build a life On secular values To a middle-aged man Whose ALMOST every thought Is about God “'WHO are you Lord?' I asked” “'I am Jesus of Nazareth, Whom you are persecuting,' he replied” …..... “'WHAT shall I do, Lord?' I asked” “'Get up,' the Lord said, 'And go into Damascus There you will be told ALL that you have been assigned to do'” Acts 22:7-10 And the rest-as they say- IS history Paul goes on to be-arguably- The greatest evangelist in history (outside of Jesus himself) My story Is still being written But if God and Jesus Can transform Paul Through his weakness And me-through mine (health-money-and sexual relationships) Just imagine What he can do with you too “If I must boast- I will boast of the things That show my weakness” 2 Corinthians 11:30 “But he said to me- 'MY GRACE is sufficient For you For my power Is made perfect In WEAKNESS'” 2 Corinthians 12:9 There is nothing In this world- Secular or otherwise- That has a greater power Over me Than to love and SERVE GOD Than to love and serve others USE me Lord TRANSFORM ME Make me Into anything you want me to be “Do NOT conform To the pattern Of this world But be TRANSFORMED By the RENEWING of the mind Then you will be able To test and approve What GOD'S WILL is- His good-pleasing-and perfect will” Romans 12:2 The late great comedian-Johnny Carson- Used to say “WHEN you come To the fork in the road-take it” I have FOUND GOD At every fork in the road Of my life I PRAY That you will too I pray That like Saint Paul That like me You will become TRANSFORMED from the inside out Robert P. GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US!

GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US (even in despair and suffering) OUR GOD is always With us Even in times of suffering And times of despair We all go through those times In life When we can't feel God Much less see him But I ASSURE YOU That is when He is especially near “They mourned and wept and fasted ….....because they had fallen By the sword” 2 Samuel 1-12 At certain times In our life Despair and suffering-seemingly- Can crush us The LOSS of a loved one The breakup of a relationship Illness or disability Etc., etc., etc., I should know I have been through it all Just like you- The times when we weren't sure God even existed- Much less walking beside us As he always is GOD IS always with us God is-always near-always close “The Lord is close To the brokenhearted And SAVES those Who are crushed in spirit” Psalm 34:18 “ONE who has unreliable friends Soon comes to ruin But there is a friend Who sticks CLOSER Than a brother” Proverbs 18:24 And I should know He never let me down I SHOULD KNOW- In 1978-I had just had My third life and death operation Within a year-and survived Yet the medical profession Had no answers- And I had just lost my job And a relationship-because of medical reasons There was NO ONE in this world Who could help me-EXCEPT for God GOD directed me-guided me=he showed me HOW to make a life through him-and- DOING IT his way And through family-and friends-and through churches “GUIDE me In your truth And teach me For you are God my Savior And my HOPE is in you ALL DAY LONG” Psalm 25:5 “But when he The SPIRIT OF TRUTH comes He will guide you Into the truth” John 16:13 He will NEVER abandon you- Just like-he never abandoned his SON- MY Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Just like He never abandoned- The GREAT SAINT Paul “But he said to me, 'My GRACE is sufficient For you For my power Is made PERFECT in weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9 Just like He never abandoned me The good news is: GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US Even in periods of hardship And intense suffering God suffers And mourns with us We are never separated From God- In life-or in death (Romans 8:38-39) OUR GOD IS ALWAYS WITH US Robert P. SAYING YES TO THE GOD OF LIFE

SAYING YES TO THE GOD OF LIFE All life is SACRED Our FAITHFUL-our LOVING GOD Loved each of us Into existence We should demonstrate And REFLECT our love for life By the individual choices That we make “For your MERCY Towers in the heavens And your faithfulness To the skies” Psalm 57:11 This world is CRYING OUT For an example Of how MEANINGFUL life is We need to stand up And be counted By our RESPECT FOR LIFE By respect For our unborn children And by our RESPECT for All children No matter what age- No matter what gender As CHRISTIANS We need to live For all people For all children “The Lord is my light And my salvation Whom shall I fear? The Lord Is the stronghold of my life- Of whom shall I be afraid?” Psalm 27:1 “For those who find me FIND LIFE And receive favor From the Lord” Proverbs 8:35 What kind of world Do we live in? We live in a world With ISIS-and terrorism NO RESPECT for life there We live in a nation With multitudes of killings In every city In the United States No respect for life here HOW CAN we say no To life WHEN our God Has said YES RESPECT LIFE All life is SACRED Respect all life Be the EXAMPLE of God- FOR LIFE-for others “For whoever Wants to save their life Will lose it But whoever Loses their life for me And the gospel will SAVE IT” Mark 8:35 “Just as the living Father Sent me And I live because of The FATHER So the one Who feeds on me Will LIVE Because of me” John 6:57 I think about My death bed PROMISE-daily “To LIVE for my family-friends- And ALL PEOPLE everywhere” With GOD'S STRENGTH I have lived 39 additional years Since the promise Won't you join me In saying “YES” to the GOD OF LIFE And LIVING FOR GOD And all of mankind RESPECT LIFE ALL LIFE IS SACRED Dear Lord- Help us to see YOUR YES In every person that we meet Robert P. THE HEALING PRESENCE OF OUR LORD Use your imagination Take yourself back To Jesus' day IMAGINE yourself To be one of the sick And the suffering ONE of those NEEDING the healing PRESENCE Of our Lord As Jesus walked through the hills And valleys and mountain sides PREACHING the good news To the crowds “He told his disciples To have a boat ready For him Because of the crowd So that they would not Crush him” Mark 3:9 Back then-AS NOW Just needing Jesus to touch you Makes ALL the difference To present HIS HEALING To you The HEALING PRESENCE Of our Lord Back then- Just needing him To touch us-or to touch him- In order-to be HEALED And today-just needing him To touch us-to touch OUR HEARTS “Gracious words Are a honeycomb SWEET to the soul And HEALING to the bones” Proverbs 16:24 “Jesus went through Galilee Teaching in their synagogues PROCLAIMING the good news Of the kingdom And HEALING every disease And illness Among the people” Matthew 4:23 ALL miracles-are NOT medical miracles Even in today's world GOD has kept me alive Some 39+ years To TESTIFY to THE HEALING PRESENCE OF OUR LORD He walked the hills and valleys Of our world Some 2000 years ago And walks with us today ALIVE in our hearts And we can experience- A true GOD-GIVEN miracle If we just believe BELIEVE in The HEALING PRESENCE of our Lord “You make known to me The PATH of life You will FILL me with joy In your presence With eternal pleasures At your right hand” Psalm 16:11 “Dear friends- If our hearts Do not condemn us WE have CONFIDENCE before God And receive from him Anything we ask Because- We keep his commands And DO what PLEASES HIM” 1 John 3:21-22 Dear FRIENDS- As we seek OUR Lord out For his healing WE FEEL his eyes and heart On us They are FILLED WITH COMPASSION- And maybe not now But someday soon We will FEEL the actual healing If we just-stay in FAITH And stay in THE HEALING PRESENCE OF OUR LORD! PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL

PURE AND UNCONDITINAL Do you know That God's love for you Is PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL Nothing that you can do To interfere with his love For you HIS LOVE-for you Has NO reservations “The Pharisees went out And immediately took counsel With the Herodians Against Jesus To put him to death” Mark 3:6 There is an odd conspiracy At work here The Pharisees-so pure- That they are untouchable And the Herodians- Contaminated-are united- By their hatred of Jesus They have sworn to kill him Hatred kills-LOVE heals everything Some people hate the idea Of a PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL loving God So much-they just hate God Jesus HEALS the man With the withered hand On the Sabbath Jesus' LOVE for the poor man Is pure and unconditional And ours should be For each other too “Create in me- A PURE HEART-O God And renew a steadfast spirit Within me” Psalm 51:10 “The Lord detests The thoughts of the wicked But gracious words Are PURE in his sight” Proverbs 15:26 HATE conspired to kill Jesus And it did Albeit temporarily But LOVE HEALS Love encourages And LOVE INSPIRES And that Is WHERE Our CHRISTIAN LOVE should be ENCOURAGING AND INSPIRING others To live great Christian lives “Finally brothers and sisters-rejoice Strive for full restoration ENCOURAGE one another Be of one mind Live in peace And the God Of LOVE AND PEACE Will be with you” 2 Corinthians 13:11 And our PRAYERS for others Should be PURE AND UNCONDITIONAL too Just as GOD'S LOVE for us-IS WE should have the courage To pray For those who ignore us To pray for those Who scold us And even PRAY for those Who doubt us and hate us Just as Jesus did Finally-Dear Lord- LET our prayers for others Be PURE and UNCONDITIONAL And encourage and inspire others Just as Jesus' was Robert P. LET GOD DO THE WORK Is life Coming a little too hard For you Is life A little-just- A LITTLE HARD Seemingly- No matter how hard That we/I/you TRY Never seeming To get there NEVER seeming To get anywhere Maybe you need To cut back On your effort-just a little And REST in God Rest on THE EFFORT OF GOD “The sabbath Was made for man NOT man For the sabbath” Mark 2:27 Rest on the effort Rest on The LAURELS OF GOD “It does NOT-therefore- DEPEND on HUMAN desire- Or effort But on GOD'S MERCY” Romans 9:16 “For Scripture Says to Pharaoh- 'I raised you up For the very purpose That I might DISPLAY My POWER in you And that my name Might be PROCLAIMED In all the earth'” Romans 9:17 I think-maybe- At times I am like that I want God's name To depend on me But it doesn't depend on me- IT DEPENDS ON GOD Let GOD- Let him USE YOU The way He wants to use you NOT the way That you want to be used You are HIS vehicle You-me-and ALL the world ARE AT HIS MERCY “Those who Cleanse themselves From the latter Will be instruments For SPECIAL PURPOSES made holy- USEFUL to the MASTER And prepared to do ANY GOOD WORK” 2 Timothy 2:21 “MY God-my God-why have you Forsaken me?” Mark 15:34 I am sure That Jesus thought he FAILED His Father As I often do-in the PROMISE- I made to God But the lesson here-IS- To REST in God To SURRENDER OUR WILL To the Father's After all-he CHANGED the world- ONCE-through his SON'S PERFECT LOVE WHO is to say- That IF we SURRENDER our will- And personal plans to the Father That he will not do it again REST IN GOD And LET GOD- DO THE WORK Robert P. WITNESS 9-6-13 THE ULTIMATE GIFT How would you Define the word gift I would define it As something given to you Of value Usually by one person To another Unfortunately for us We human beings Usually define gifts As something we can touch Or feel Fortunately for us GOD KNOWS That the lessons that we learn In life Are of MUCH greater value Than anything That can be measured materially Or of material value “But the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE In Christ Jesus our Lord” Romans 6:23 That is IF we are believers And if We do our best To live by the GOLDEN RULE And the TWO GREATEST COMMANDMENTS One of my favorite movies Is a 2007 movie Called, “The Ultimate Gift” It is the story Of a love-hate relationship Between a wealthy grandfather And his grandson-the black sheep of the family When the wealthy grandfather dies All the rest of the family Show up to claim their inheritance That they are sure is theirs They get nothing The black sheep-the grandson- a young man- Named Jason Stevens Gets nothing too But he does get a crash course In life-via video tape-from his belated grandfather This crash course That his grandfather has devised Leads him to finding out That giving and happiness Is what is important in life Not money God and Christ Has left us an inheritance too But like the spoiled young grandson We too Must learn That what is important is LOVE In order to inherit it “But the meek Will in inherit the earth And enjoy great peace” Psalm 37:11 “Having believed You were marked in him With a seal The promised Holy Spirit Who is a deposit Guaranteeing our inheritance Until the redemption Of those who are God’s possession To the praise of his glory” Ephesians 1:14 Dear Lord-we pray That we learn Like young Jason Stevens-in the movie THE ULTIMATE GIFT in life Is what really matters: IT is LOVE-not sex It is GIVING-not receiving or selfishness It is FORGIVING-not vengeance AND IT IS GOD AND FAMILY-not money And Dear Lord, we pray That we DO learn our lessons in life And that we DO Put them into practice And may our inheritance be A LIFE LIVING FOREVER WITH YOU MERRY CHRISTMAS MY FRIENDS I LOVE YOU Robert P. IN HIS STRENGTH Have you ever heard A man or a woman say, “I am a self-made man”-or “I am a self-made woman” I BELIEVE There is no such thing For at the very least We NEED the circumstances- CREATED by God- To put us in a situation- Conducive to being successful- And some HELP Form someone along the way (Hopefully-we are NOT just stepping On people-and using people- On our way up) “Oh Lord In your strength The king is GLAD” Psalm 21:2 I feel just the opposite I feel like I have Accomplished NOTHING on my own I feel like I have been TOTALLY DEPENDENT On God Totally dependent on others Since God SAVED my life Through a miracle When I was 22 “My salvation And my honor DEPEND on God He is my might rock He is my refuge” Psalm 62:7 So many people Have ENCOURAGED me- I do my best To try and encourage All others “Leave your fatherless children I will KEEP them alive Your widows too Can DEPEND on me” Jeremiah 49:11 GOD HELPS all those Who NEED his help Who depend On his strength “The Lord Gives STRENGTH to his people The Lord BLESSES his people With peace” Psalm 29:11 “For the foolishness of God Is WISER Than human wisdom And the weakness of God Is stronger than Human strength” 1 Corinthians 1:25 Look at where you are In life Look at where You want to be It can be so overwhelming But when you think Of GOD'S STRENGTH Carrying you there I know I can Make it Because I look to Where I have already been And I look To WHERE God Has already taken me And I KNOW He can carry you there too GOD'S STRENGTH IS LIMITLESS “Even to your old age And gray hairs I am he I am he Who will SUSTAIN you I have made you And I will CARRY YOU I will sustain you And I will rescue you” Isaiah 46:4 RELYING-IN HIS STRENGTH We can make it Through anything and everything And REJOICE in the Lord Robert P. OVERCOMING OBSTACLES KEEPING YOU FROM GOD Is there anything In your life KEEPING you from God Physical obstacles-or illness Spiritual obstacles-lack of faith Or emotional obstacles-maybe The BLAMING of God For something that has happened In your life Don't let it happen NOTHING should keep you From God In the beginning of Mark-chapter 2 We read about a paralytic man And his friend Chiseling their way Through the roof In an effort to see Jesus And FIND his healing touch HOW can Jesus Not be impressed By such a paralyzing display OF FAITH “When Jesus Saw their faith- He said to the paralytic- 'Child- Your sins are forgiven'” Mark 2:5 WHATEVER obstacles Are in your way KEEP REACHING for God Keep reaching for Jesus Dazzle Jesus WITH YOUR FAITH “Therefore Let us STOP passing judgment On one another Instead- Make up your mind Not to put Any stumbling block In the way of a Brother or sister” Romans 14:13 Decide what really matters- It IS our brothers and sisters In NEED We can overcome Any obstacles To HELP another In need That is what Jesus did That is What we ARE to do too As his disciples and apostles Of today KEEP REACHING out for God In faith OVERCOME every obstacle Keeping you from God And keeping you From HELPING others in need “Do not hold against us The sins of the past generations May your MERCY come quickly To meet us For we are In DESPERATE NEED” Psalm 79:8 “Do not be like them For your Father KNOWS What you need Before you ask him” Matthew 6:8 OUR Father Knows that we need the FAITH To overcome obstacles Keeping us from him And to HELP others in need And he SUPPLIES us Just like he helped The paralytic man This story Has a LESSON for all of us It teaches us That GOD'S grace-love-and forgiveness Are on the other side Of these obstacles ALL we have to do IS KEEP REACHING OUT Until we find The love of God And others They are fully available To ALL of us-IF WE REACH OUT IN FAITH Robert P. BEING PERFECT

BEING PERFECT Are you perfect NOT just physically perfect But emotionally perfect And spiritually perfect IF you are-CONGRATULATIONS You are the first person I have met WHO is perfect Other than Jesus Of course Who was perfect SPIRITUALLY “It is GOD Who guides me And makes my way perfect” Psalm 18:32 Me perfect NOT in My wildest dreams Not physically perfect Not emotionally perfect And not spiritually perfect ALTHOUGH I do My very best To FOLLOW the ways Of the Lord In the 19th chapter Of Saint Matthew's gospel Jesus tells a young man Who wishes to follow him WHAT he has to do In order to be perfect “Jesus said.....,'IF you wish To be perfect GO-sell what you have And give it to the POOR And you will have treasure In heaven Then COME FOLLOW ME' WHEN the young man Heard this statement He went away sad For he had MANY POSESSIONS” Matthew 19:21-22 Wow- I can sympathize With this man WHO could go And sell ALL their possessions ESPECIALLY in today's ME first society MAYBE the lesson is JUST to GIVE as much as we can GIVE- At least till it hurts “EVERY MAN Shall give As he is able ACCORDING to The BLESSING of the Lord Thy God Which he has GIVEN YOU” Deuteronomy 16:17 And maybe THE ULTIMATE MEANING Of Jesus' words Is an invitation To give OUR HEART COMPLETELY TO GOD And other people So that There will be NO ROOM In our heart For our possessions ONE THING I do know for sure IS WE should never stop giving Because LIVING IS GIVING And GIVING IS LIVING And when and if We give it all away We will be PERFECT As the Lord IS PERFECT And the truth is NONE of us Will be able to do this So we SHOULD Just give away AS MUCH OF OURSELVES As we possibly can Robert P. THAT MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP The MOST important relationship That we will ever have In our life Is with God At least As far as I am concerned I believe ALL other relationships All things of importance Stem from there Stem from LOVING GOD FIRST And stem from loving others second CONNECT to God And connect to others BUILD fellowship-BUILD LOVE In this world “RISING early-before dawn He left And went off to a deserted place WHERE HE PRAYED” Mark 1:35 In the passage Immediately preceding this Jesus HEALED an entire town Of people Who were ill Or POSESSED by demons I don't know-but I imagine He was tired-after a day LIKE THIS Nevertheless-his first action- WHEN getting up- Was going to pray To the FATHER CONNECTING with the Father That most important relationship Maybe that should be OUR FIRST ACTION everyday too PRAYING to the Father- Connecting to the Father- And PRAYING FOR OTHERS each day “My servant Job Will pray for you And I will ACCEPT his prayer And NOT deal with you According to your folly You have not spoken The truth about me As my servant Job has” Job 42:8 The POWER of A praying man-or a praying woman That most important relationship Is our relationship With God “Therefore-confess your sins To each other And PRAY for each other So that We may be HEALED The prayer Of a righteous person IS POWERFUL AND EFFECTIVE” James 5:16 WHEN we connect To God first It changes the way That we think It changes the way That we feel It EFFECTS every choice That we make OUR RELATIONSHIP with God IS our most important relationship And it should stem From love On our side too And WHEN we connect With God out of love That leads us To CONNECT with others out of love too Is it any wonder That Jesus told us That these Were the first two commandments (In fact-the only two) The choices that we make Dictates our actions Our actions Dictate our character And our character Dictates OUR DESTINY Our destiny is INTERTWINED With God and with others If we just REMEMBER THAT MOST IMPORTANT RELATIONSHIP CONNECTING WITH GOD Robert P. A DIALOGUE WITH GOD Do you know What PRAYER is It is simply A DIALOGUE WITH GOD It is simply the opening Of our inner most thoughts With God It is SHARING the POSITIVE In our life It is sharing The negative In our life And it is sharing OUR deepest darkest Inner most secrets-with God (he KNOWS them anyway) In fact That is WHERE my prayer life with God BASICALLY BEGAN “........ Since she had ASKED the Lord For him” 1 Samuel 1:20 (READ 1 Samuel 1:9-20 to get the whole picture) Today we learn something fundamental- About prayer-from Hannah ASK-ASK-ASK-........ Ask-you have to ask God For what you want Before you can receive it You see-Hannah had wanted A SON- And she PROMISED GOD-if she Would receive one- She would dedicate him to God- She asked-she received And the rest-as they say IS HISTORY Samuel went on To be a great great PROPHET What is it That you NEED in your life? Maybe you should ask GOD for it Maybe you should begin To PRAY-for it To have a DIALOGUE with God- The worst thing that can happen Is that God says no And then-you would have found THE BEST THING any way- PRAYER-in a dialogue with God And the SHARING of your life With him “For anyone who asks- Receives For anyone who seeks- Finds And to the one who knocks- The door will be opened” Matthew 7:8 “Whoever WELCOMES a prophet As a prophet Will RECEIVE a prophet's reward And whoever Welcomes a RIGHTEOUS PERSON As a righteous person Will receive a righteous person's reward” Matthew 10:41 So open up your heart-your mind- And your soul to God BEGIN a dialogue with him today Will you receive What you want? TIME FOR CHANGE CHANGE is The beginning of SOMETHING NEW There are many times WHEN God breaks through And presents something NEW That is What God and Jesus Are doing here It is TIME for Something new “Jesus said, 'This is The time of fulfillment The KINGDOM of God Is at hand Repent and believe In the Gospel'” Mark 1:15 And then-AS NOW Maybe it is time For something NEW In our lives again Maybe it is time To BRING GOD To the forefront Of our lives Once again And to The forefront Of our world Lord knows What we have been doing now Is NOT WORKING TIME for something new Time for some change Jesus is announcing: “GOD is starting something NEW DON'T MISS IT” “He put a new song In my mouth A hymn of praise To our God MANY will see And fear the Lord And put their trust In him” Psalm 40:3 “Sing to the Lord A new song For he has done Marvelous things His right hand And his holy arm have worked salvation For him” Psalm 98:1 “Go stand in the temple courts”-he said- And tell the people ALL about the NEW LIFE” Acts 5:20 Jesus is telling his disciples COME with me And we will CHANGE THE WORLD We will GIVE HOPE to everyone No longer fisher men But “FISHERS OF MEN” They could have ignored Jesus But I think Even to their own Utter amazement They bought into JESUS THEY BOUGHT INTO HOPE I believe it is time For CHANGE in our world ONCE AGAIN Why can't we BUY into God BUY INTO Jesus-all over again And bring LOVE & HOPE & CHANGE To the world-all over again “If you really CHANGE Your ways and your actions And deal with each other JUSTLY If you do not oppress The foreigner The fatherless and the widow And do not shed innocent blood In this place And if you do NOT FOLLOW Other gods-to your own harm ….....” Jeremiah 7:5-6 Dear friends It is TIME FOR CHANGE In this world-ALL OVER AGAIN- May we CHANGE THE WORLD One more time-TO LOVE THIS TIME-FOR GOOD Robert P. NOT JUST WORDS-BUT DEEDS I write a lot Of words You guys know that But words are MEANINGLESS Without the deeds or actions To back them “Praise your God-O Zion For he has strengthened The bars of your gates He has BLESSED your children Within you” Psalm 147:12-13 This is one BUSY GOD Our God Not only Is he loving us And protecting us But our God Is strengthening the gates BLESSING children And PROCLAIMING THE DIVINE WORD Our God Is always moving To bring about GOOD In the world And good in our lives When he can “Taste and see That the Lord is good BLESSED is the one Who takes refuge in him” Psalm 34:8 “Whoever seeks good Finds favor But evil comes to one Who searches for it” Proverbs 11:27 DO GOOD ALWAYS There is an old saying That goes like this: “Actions speak louder than words” We have to REMEMBER That love-forgive-and BEING KIND Are verbs too- And IMPLY ACTION There must be some action Some deeds in our words- Or our words are meaningless “For I know Your eagerness To HELP And I have been boasting About it To the Macedonians Telling them That since last year You in Achaia Were ready to give And your enthusiasm Has stirred most of them To action” 2 Corinthians 9:2 That is what we all need ENTHUSIASM-PASSION For the WORD OF GOD NOT just say words But act in our deeds “In the same way FAITH by itself If it is Not accompanied by action Is dead” We must USE OUR WORD To spur ourselves- And others-into action And produce good deeds- GOOD WORKS So try some Of these words PRAY to God PRAY for others GIVE A HUG To someone in need Someone feeling low May our words TODAY- May our words Produce actions That BLESSES and ENRICHES others' lives Robert P. LOVE LIKE CHRIST Who is it in the world That is the hardest person For you to LOVE? It may be more than one For there is certainly No shortage Of rude crude people In this world “This is the commandment We have from him WHOEVER loves God MUST also love his brother” (and sister) 1 John 4:21 After all Christ laid down his life For ALL of mankind NOT just us believers “But to you Who are listening-I say LOVE your enemies DO GOOD to those Who hate you BLESS those Who curse you PRAY for those Who mistreat you If someone Slaps you on one cheek Turn to them The other also” Luke 6:27-28 & Matthew 5:44 Probably the hardest lesson And most hard to IMPLEMENT (at least for me) But I have learned To do that LOVE LIKE CHRIST Is there anything BLOCKING my love of anyone Or ALL of mankind EXAMINE yourself Examine the commandments Examine your love Do NOT let your love Be blocked LOVE like Christ Love your brothers and sisters In Christ Love one another The GOSPEL of John Particularly John 15 Has some great teachings ON LOVE “My command is this: Love each other As I have loved you” John 15:12 “GREATER LOVE Has no man than this To lay down one's life For one's friends” John 15:13 I think back To my deathbed promise to God “To love God-and LIVE for my family-my friends And ALL people everywhere” I didn't know it At the time But I was giving up my life For the LOVE of ALL my brothers and sisters I TRULY LOVE ALL of mankind And I HOPE My life has made a difference In the lives of some others “This is my command: LOVE EACH ANOTHER” John 15:17 And so as you CONTEMPLATE Another day of life/and HOPEFULLY/ Another day of love Think about your own GOODNESS and failings Think about WHO you can love Who you can forgive today Life is a gift DON'T take it for granted LOVE your brothers and sisters in Christ Love an enemy Love all of mankind LOVE LIKE CHRIST And do it today Dear LORD OF LOVE=we pray= TEACH US to love like you Robert P. FINDING THE TIME TO PRAY We live in a SUPER busy Fast-paced world I don't know about you But I don't always FIND the time To spend time with God That is WHY I try to PRAY The first thing EVERY MORNING If I can And that is why I try to find time Every day To write poetry-and write MY FEELINGS about God “And WHEN He had taken leave of them He went off To the mountain to pray” Mark 6:46 If finding time To pray to his FATHER Was that important to Jesus It should be At least that important To us And it doesn't matter Where we pray As long as we take the time To FOCUS on God-EXCLUSIVELY “But when you pray Go into your room Close the door And pray to your Father Who is unseen Then your Father Who sees what is done In secret Will reward you And when you pray Do not keep on babbling Like pagans For they think They will be heard Because of their many words” Matthew 6:6-7 That is exactly What I did AFTER my 3rd life and death surgery In 1977-went to my room-and CLOSED the door And began praying to God For GUIDANCE And he has PROVIDED the answers For me Provided the HELP That I needed To keep on going To sustain myself Through God- And through the help Of my family and friends ABUNDANTLY SATISFIED Through prayer With God the Father And our brother-Jesus “You let people Ride over our heads We went through fire And water But you brought us To a place of abundance” Psalm 66:12 In PRAYER We will find the answers Not in an abundance Of possessions But in God's GRACE And PEACE “Grace and peace Be yours in ABUNDANCE” 1 Peter 1:2 So find some time During the day For some quiet-daily prayer Find the time To REFUEL in God To refuel in Jesus Dear Lord- HELP US to find some time For you today For our QUIET TIME Set apart with you Is the KEY to all we do And accomplish each day HELP US to find the time To pray to you TODAY Robert P. THE SMALL AND IN THE ORDINARY MOMENTS TOO

IN THE SMALL AND IN THE ORDINARY MOMENTS TOO We have THANKSGIVING In the rear view mirror Christmas and New YEARS too While these are great holidays And MIRACULOUS religious holidays too We must REMEMBER That OUR GOD is in the routine The ORDINARY DAYS of our life And in The SMALL things too “WE receive from him Whatever we ask Because we keep his commandments And do whatever pleases him” 1 John 3:22 Are you ready To go back to school? To go back to work? Are you ready to get back To the routine and to the ordinary? It's easy to lose sight That that is really and truly WHERE GOD IS But we must REMEMBER THAT=if We remember anything at all After all-90-95% of us Are ORDINARY By the standards Of this world Yet we are ALL EXTRAORDINARY creatures In the eyes of God- To be valued and LOVED For who we truly are “WHEN they saw The COURAGE of Peter and John And realized That they were unschooled ORDINARY men They were astonished And they took note That these men Had been with Jesus” Acts 4:13 What made the apostles Extraordinary=SPECIAL Was their relationship with God Their relationship with Jesus We too Are ordinary men and women But what makes us SPECIAL- HIS BELIEVERS of today- Are our relationships With God and Jesus “God did EXTRAORDINARY miracles Through Paul........” Acts 19:11 Why Paul? Because he had great faith And God will use us To perform great miracles THROUGH our routine-ordinary lives Why-because we have GREAT FAITH too You can ONLY change The large picture in the world After day-by-day efforts Of trying and changing the SMALL picture GIVING OTHERS the courage And the faith That they can Make a difference In their own Small corner of the world You have to PROVE yourself To God In the small things BEFORE you will be Entrusted with the large “When he comes He will PROVE the world To be in the wrong About sin-and righteousness- And judgment........” John 16:8 “But wisdom Is proven RIGHT by her deeds” Matthew 19:11 And so As we go back To our routines-to the ordinary Let us grow CLOSER To God and Jesus In our own small corner Of the world And remember That change has no season- No calendar Let us all go gently Into reality in 2016 And CHANGE THE WORLD Through the ORDINARY- AND THE SMALL TOO Robert P. THE EPIPHANY Do you know What the word epiphany means Maybe you have even said, “I had an epiphany” It means A moment of revelation or insight Usually through Some simple or common occurrence---an experience In Christianity---specifically It is the manifestation of Christ To the gentiles In the persons of the magi---the 3 wise men I wonder If they knew---really knew That they were looking at God himself All those years ago Did they really have an epiphany At that very moment I don’t know But I do know this In Matthew 2 Matthew tells us the story “Magi from the East Came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one Who was born King of the Jews We saw his star in the East And have come to worship him” Pretty smart---these 3 wise men And they brought gifts Gifts befitting of a King Gold-incense-and myrrh And I do know this Herod was worried enough About his kingship To want to kill our newborn baby King He met with the Magi And asked them to report to him Where our baby could be found But they were warned in a dream They did not go back to Herod And returned home By another route Pretty smart---these 3 wise men I guess they did Have an epiphany after all “But you Bethlehem In the land of Judah Are by no means Least among the rulers of Judah; For out of you Will come a ruler Who will be the Shepherd Of my people Israel” Matthew 2:6 We could learn a lot From these 3 wise men I wonder---when or if Our epiphany moment Is going to come in today’s world Robert P. CHOICES IN LIFE

CHOICES IN LIFE Life is nothing IF but a life of choices Where are we going to school? Who will I marry/or will I marry at all? What will be my career path? And on and on and on But the one choice That is most important is: WILL I believe in God? Will I believe in THE CHRIST CHILD-and- Will I believe in LIFE EVERLASTING with them? “We saw his star …..... And have come to pay him homage” Matthew 2:2 That was the CHOICE Of the three kings-the MAGI But what is your choice? What is mine? CHOOSE God and Jesus Choose life CHOOSE the GOODNESS in this world You see As SURE as I am sitting here Writing this That is how sure I am That God is ALIVE That is how sure I am That Jesus Christ-is the MESSIAH- The SON OF GOD Just as SURE as I am sitting here You see-I was given up For dead-WHEN I was 22 I had come to the end Of what medical science could do PRAISE God-PRAISE JESUS CHRIST- LIVE a life of love and GOODNESS That is what I will do-or attempt to do UNTIL the end of time That is MY CHOICE And that is what I CHOOSE To do-out of my LOVE FOR GOD And out of my love FOR ALL OF MANKIND (Just as Jesus taught me to do) “But if SERVING the Lord Seems undesirable to you Then CHOOSE for yourselves This day Whom you will choose …..... But as for me And my household WE WILL SERVE THE LORD” Joshua 24:15 I was BROUGHT UP On God From the time I was an infant I thank God and Jesus I thank MY PARENTS I will FOLLOW GOD and Jesus UNTIL the end of time “You did NOT choose me But I chose you And appointed you So that you might go And bear fruit- FRUIT that will last So that whatever you ask In my name The FATHER will give you This is my command LOVE EACH OTHER” John 15:16 Jesus was a polarizing figure EVEN in his time You either LOVED HIM And would give up your life For him Or like King Herod You tried to KILL-or discredit THE NEWBORN KING You only get ONE LIFE And it is too important To be on the wrong side of this DON'T BE like King Herod Don't choose evil Don't choose to be self-serving Like many of our men and women In today's world LOVE ONE ANOTHER CHOOSE God-Choose Jesus- CHOOSE LIFE THIS is the ONLY CHOICE That really matters In today's world Robert P. DO YOU RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR LIFE? God is with us EACH DAY- And every day in our lives HE is in each and every one Of us He is especially in The grieving=the brokenhearted -and Those of us Who are BROKEN IN SPIRIT “........ There is one among you Whom you do NOT RECOGNIZE ….....” John 1:26 One of my FAVORITE READINGS Or messages in the bible Are the BEATITUDES And I especially TRY to incorporate this (And these)= into my life “BLESSED are the POOR IN SPIRIT For theirs is The kingdom of heaven” Matthew 5:3 BLESSED are those Who mourn For they will be COMFORTED” Matthew 5:4 (and the BEATITUDES continue through Matthew 5:11) Do you RECOGNIZE GOD in the poor And brokenhearted people in this world? The people in NEED- Because that is WHERE God is at In today's world And that is WHERE=WHO God And Jesus are asking you to HELP “The Lord is CLOSE To the brokenhearted And SAVES those Who are CRUSHED in spirit” Psalm 34:18 “HE HEALS the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds” Psalm 147:3 Do you RECOGNIZE God In the poor-in the homeless- In the NEEDY? Do you recognize God In the widows-and-in the orphans? Do you recognize God IN YOUR LIFE? “Religion that God our FATHER ACCEPTS As pure and faultless is this: To LOOK after orphans and widows In their distress And to keep oneself From being polluted By the world” James 1:27 It is NATURAL If you think about it FIND GOD in the children Find God in the aged Find God in the Sick and forlorn Find God in those WHO HAVE NEEDS OUR GOD is ALWAYS near To us-in HEART He is with us When we are laughing An when we are crying In this NEW YEAR Take HEED of John the BAPTIST'S call: “Make STRAIGHT The way of the LORD” John 1:23 Dear Lord=WE PRAY HELP US to recognize you today In the FACE of those Who are in NEED=every day= And in every way “By their fruit- You will RECOGNIZE them” Matthew 7:16 DEAR LORD= You are right here -Sitting within us -And right beside us HELP us-to recognize you -Dear Lord-right here-IN OUR HEARTS And right here In the NEEDS of others- Who are BROKEN You are-right here-ALIVE- In our world- IN THE NEEDS OF OTHERS Robert P. CHANGE IS POSSIBLE IN 2016!

CHANGE IS POSSIBLE IN 2016 Today embarks the BEGINNING Of a new year WHEN we look back AT our lives for 2015 We REMEMBER the good times The good qualities That we have And the good things That was left at our door BOTH from God And from others However-if we are HONEST With ourselves We all have something About ourselves That we would like to CHANGE “So shall they Invoke my name …..... And I will BLESS them” Numbers 6:27 GOD BLESSES us all No matter Whatever we state Are in “The Lord gives STRENGTH To his people The Lord BLESSES his people With peace” Psalm 29:11 “For there is no difference Between Jew and Gentile- The same Lord Is Lord of ALL And richly BLESSES ALL who call on him” Romans 10:12 BLESSED or not We all have certain failings In our life And we may feel powerless To change But the TRUTH is It still is CHRISTMAS SEASON And the BIRTH of Christ Makes change truly possible IF we really Want to change our lives To LIVING BY The SPIRIT OF GOD And not by the forces And characteristics of this world CHANGE IS POSSIBLE In 2016 God has entered our world And our lives Through the life of Our Lord-Jesus Christ NOW we are empowered By the DIVINE PRESENCE Of God-and HIS SPIRIT CHANGE is possible We can CHANGE In 2016 “If you Really CHANGE your ways And your actions And deal with each other JUSTLY ….....” Jeremiah 7:5 “TRULY-I tell you UNLESS you change And become like little children You will never enter The kingdom of heaven” Matthew 18:3 Make a list of The behaviors and attitudes That you want to change And TURN them over to God Asking for strength IN GOD-you can do it BECOME the person You want to be in 2016 TODAY is the beginning Of my/your NEW LIFE CHANGE IS POSSIBLE this year In 2016 Robert P.
