Radical CONVERSIONS
In the history
Of MANKIND


Saul makes a U-TURN
From persecuting Christians
To becoming ONE OF THEM


“He fell to the ground
And heard a VOICE
Saying to him


'Saul-Saul
Why are you persecuting me?'” Acts 9:4


HOW did it happen?
Saul was knocked to
The ground=
And LOST control
Of his life


Then he ENCOUNTERED Jesus
And spoke to him
As he was
NEVER the same=
He was IN LOVE
With the RISEN CHRIST


CONVERTED TO GOD=
He was a changed man


“The Lord has sworn
And will NOT CHANGE
His mind” Psalm 110:4


“I the Lord
DO NOT CHANGE” Mal 3:6


“Listen-I tell
You a mystery


'We will not all sleep
But we will
All be CHANGED--------


In a flash
In the twinkling
Of an eye
At the last trumpet'” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52


Saul was blinded
And had to RELY
On the KINDNESS
Of the very people
He was persecuting


And finally
Saul RECEIVED the GIFT
Of the HOLY SPIRIT-
Like we all do


We are CHANGED=we
All become
CONVERTED TO GOD
When we need him
AT LEAST I DID


We EXPERIENCE our vulnerability
In a significant way=
As we TURN to God
And Jesus=IN PRAYER


We become DESPERATE
For the need of God


For the Holy Spirit
To keep filling us
With STRENGTH


CONVERTED to God
Through the HOLY SPIRIT


“And you will receive
The gift
Of the HOLY SPIRIT” Acts 2:38


“You however
Are not
In the realm
Of the flesh


But you are
In the realm
Of the SPIRIT


If indeed
The SPIRIT OF GOD
Lives in you” Romans 8:9


We too=like Saul
Will receive
The LOVE and SUPPORT of others


Our conversion
May not be
As DRAMATIC AS SAUL'S


But the Holy Spirit
Will fill us with STRENGTH
Just the same

TURNING TO GOD IN FAITH


DIFFICULT TIMES
Are upon us=
It is time for us
To TURN to GOD
IN FAITH


Looking for love=
Looking for guidance
Looking for the WAY
Out of this mess
We CALL the CORONA VIRUS


“I am the LIVING BREAD
That came down
From heaven


Whoever eats this bread
Will LIVE FOREVER


And the bread
That I will give
Is my flesh


For the LIFE
Of the world” John 6:51


This is ONE
Of many tough teachings
From Jesus=
MAYBE the toughest


This led to quarrels
Among the disciples and
Many DECIDED
To leave him


This teaching
CHALLENGES US to reflect on
The incredibly-vulnerable
And magnificent
LIFE OF FAITH


It is time for us
TO TURN BACK
To God=and back
To Jesus=
In these incredibly
Difficult days


“”Start children off
On the way
They should go


And even when
They are old-
They will NOT TURN
From it” Proverbs 22:6


“Let them
TURN to the Lord
And he will have
MERCY on them


And to our God
For he will
Freely pardon” Isaiah 55:7


What an incredibly beautiful day
It will be


WHEN we LEARN
To accept the TEACHINGS
Of Jesus


In stead of trying to
Question and understand them


LOOK at the crucifix
Of Jesus=
With the EYES
Of faith and truth


And you will SEE
The FLESH that is
The LIFE of the world


TURN TO GOD
IN FAITH=let the doubt go=
He CAN lead us out
Of any situation


“........To open their eyes
And TURN THEM
From darkness to light


And from the
Power of Satan=TO GOD........” Acts 26:18


We are ALL TAUGHT by God=
Let us TURN BACK
To God and JESUS
In these most difficult times

NEVER REJECTED

NEVER REJECTED


Jesus came for
The WHOLE WORLD
With love


He never rejected anyone=
He always ACCEPTED-
He had LOVE FOR EVERYONE!


“I will NOT REJECT anyone
Who comes to me........” John 6:37


Yet our Lord
Was REJECTED
By the whole world


He was humiliated
And BEATEN
In front of everyone


Yet he ACCEPTED=
He PERSISTED with his love
For all


“The stone
The builders REJECTED
Has become the cornerstone” Psalm 118:22


“He was despised
And REJECTED by mankind=
A man of suffering
And familiar with pain” Isaiah 53:3


“For everything
God created is good


And nothing
Is to be REJECTED
If it is
Received with thanksgiving


Because it is consecrated
By the word of God
And prayer” 1 Timothy 4:4


Fear of rejection
Runs DEEPLY within us=
Our human hearts


This FEAR haunts us at
Different times-
In different ways
And it EFFECTS us all


Yet one thing
RUNS DEEPER in us
Than our fear of rejection


OUR LOVE FOR GOD=
He always ACCEPTS US=
He always waits for us=
He has a
NEVER ENDING love for us


Like a flower to
The sun =
Our inner self
TURNS to to the LOVE
OF GOD


His=GOD'S LOVE
Love rests in us
And picks us up=
And SENDS US on our way
Back to the world
The harsh-cruel world


His=JESUS' ARMS
Are always wide open=
His love is always
ACCEPTING for us


NOTHING can take away
The inner knowledge
That we have=of HIS LOVE


“The Lord has heard
My cry for mercy=
The Lord
ACCEPTS MY PRAYER” Psalm 6:9


“Very truly I tell you
Whoever ACCEPTS anyone
I send=ACCEPTS ME


And whoever ACCEPTS ME
ACCEPTS the one
Who sent me” John 13:20


Jesus and the FATHER=are
Always NEAR to us
They NEVER REJECTS US


Help us Lord=to feel
Your love=and come to you
NO MATTER WHAT

THE ROCK OF OUR LIVES




WHO or what
Is the ROCK
Of your life


The anchor-the staple-
the center that
BINDS everything together


That entity
From which
ALL things flow


That entity
That makes all
Other things GO


For me
I think
It has always been GOD


And on a conscious level
I KNOW it has been God
Since I was 22


And then, of course,
FAMILY, friends, and churches


I could NOT
Have survived this long
Without any of the above


And some might say-NOW-
NOT only surviving
But thriving


BECAUSE OF GOD
The ROCK of my life
(and because of family, friends, and church)


“I love you-O Lord-
My strength


O Lord
My rock
My fortress
My deliverer” Psalm 18:2-3


We live
In unstable times


There are many things
Demanding our time and attention


And times
Seem to be becoming
A little more UNCERTAIN
Every day


This is WHY
We need our ROCK-
OUR GOD
A little more every day


“MAY these words
Of my mouth


And this meditation
Of my heart


Be PLEASING
In your sight
Lord-MY ROCK-
And my REDEEMER” Psalm 19:14


OUR Lord
OUR God
THE ROCK of our lives


Sometimes our paths
Are rocky and are painful


That even making it
Through another day
Seems NEXT TO IMPOSSIBLE


But we can do it
WHEN God
Is the ROCK
Of our lives


“PROCLAIMING
The Lord is upright


He is MY ROCK
And there is no wickedness
In him” Psalm 92:15


God wants to be
THE ONE
We lean on


The one
Who KEEPS us
Standing strong


He wants to be
THE ROCK
Of our lives


“For they drank
From the spiritual rock
That accompanied them
And that ROCK
WAS CHRIST” 1 Corinthians 10:4


GOD ENCOURAGES us
To develop
A relationship with him
And to make him
The FOUNDATION of our lives


We become more grounded
And stable


Let us ALL
Look to make God

MISSING HIM!


It is FUNNY how
God can be WITH US=
How Jesus can be
In our MIDST=
And we can MISS the signs


That is the case today
WHEN two of his disciples
Are walking along


Jesus JOINS THEM!=and they never
NOTICE it was him
Until he is gone


“........While he was with them
At table


He took bread
Said the blessing-
Broke it
And gave it to them=


With that their eyes
Were opened
And they RECOGNIZED HIM........” Luke 24:30-31


It is PUZZLING
How two disciples
Can meet and talk
With the RISEN LORD
Yet not recognize him


But how often
Do we MISS
The presence of Jesus


Right in our midst=
Right in the MIDST
Of another beautiful day
A beautiful
CONVERSATION with a friend=
Or when we are IN PRAYER?


Accompanying us=MISSING HIM!


“And these signs
Will ACCOMPANY those
Who believe


In my name
They will drive out demons-
They will speak
In new tongues........” Mark 16:17


“Desire without knowledge
Is not good--------
How much more


Will hasty feet
MISS THE WAY!” Proverbs 19:2


They talked about important things
Including crucifixion=
And death=
He even EXPLAINED
SCRIPTURE to them


He was there=
Yet they could
NOT SEE HIM


But aren't we just
Like them=
MISSING HIM!


Even when we pray=
Even when we are
Walking the walk
DON'T WE MISS
God and Jesus=
Don't we miss their presence


UNTIL it dawns on us
And we wake up=
HOW BLIND can we be?
Until it all
APPEARS to us


“When Christ
Who is your life=APPEARS


Then you also
Will APPEAR with him
In glory” Colossians 3:4


WHEN it all
DAWNS on us=
When the bread is broke-
And the wine is poured=
We will NO LONGER MISS HIM


We will stretch out out hands
And then he will be
RIGHT THERE with us
At the table

Spread joy=
GIVE JOY whenever you can


I hope you are having

And FEELING THE JOY!

To another human being


Even when we
Are feeling down=
Or having a bad day

Let us hear the
Psalmist today=
Let us give a JOYFUL SHOUT


To ourselves=and to others
WHEN we can give joy
To another human being


Capture that CHRISTIAN spirit
Make someone else
FEEL GOOD about themselves


“But the angel
Said to them


'Do not be afraid-
I will bring you
Good news


That will cause GREAT JOY
For all the people'” Luke 2:10


“I have NO GREATER JOY
Than to hear
That my children
Are walking in the truth” 3 John :4


So TODAY my brothers and sisters=
No matter what kind
Of day you are having


Pick up your day
BY GIVING JOY
To someone else


It will pick you up
And make you FEEL
Like you are having
Your BEST DAY EVER

OUR MEAGER GIFTS

OUR MEAGER GIFTS


God gives us all GIFTS
In this world=
Some of us MORE gifts
Than others


But what is GREAT
About our gifts=is GOD
MULTIPLES them
And makes them a lot more


Today for example
We have the MIRACLE
Of the loaves and
The fishes


“There is a BOY here
Who has five barley loaves
And two fish


But WHAT GOOD are these
For so many?” John 6:9


Our meager gifts=
ONE YOUNG BOY


Out of the multitude
Of Jesus' FOLLOWERS=
OFFERS his basket of bread
And fish


To HELP
Feed the hungry crowd
THE DISCIPLES are doubtful


But Jesus saw the FAITH
In this young boy=
And the crowd was there
NOT to eat=
But to be HEALED


ALL that were there
Needed SPIRITUAL NOURISHMENT=
This MIRACLE is a foreshadowing
OF THE EUCHARIST


For when we receive
The Eucharist=
We take CHRIST out
Into the world


“........for God's GIFTS and
His call are irrevocable” Romans 11:29


“We have DIFFERENT GIFTS
According to the grace
Given to each of us” Romans 12:6


“Follow the way
Of love=
And eagerly desire
GIFTS of the Spirit=
Especially prophecy” 1 Corinthians 14:1


MORE often than not=
We don't feel like
OUR MEAGER GIFTS


Can make a DIFFERENCE
In this world


But WHEN we offer
Them to Jesus


He can MULTIPLY THEM
A 1,000 fold
And make a difference


Just like he did
With the loaves
And the fishes


All it takes is
A LITTLE FAITH
On our part=
Just like the LITTLE BOY had had


“Then he touched
Their eyes and said=
'According to your FAITH-
Let it be done to you'
And their sight was restored” Matthew 9:29


WHEN we offer
OUR MEAGER GIFTS
To Jesus=
He will MULTIPLY THEM


And inspire us
To nourish others
With the LOVE OF GOD

HE RESCUES US!


This period of time
With the CORONA VIRUS=is one
Of the deepest-DARKEST times
Of my life


Maybe your life too=
Maybe of the WHOLE WORLD


But NOT to worry=our God
Does RESCUE US
In our times
Of deepest trouble


“When the just cry out=
The Lord hears them
And from all their distress
HE RESCUES THEM” Psalm 34:18


Is there anything
More COMFORTING
Than knowing
That the Father
Of the UNIVERSE


Is just waiting
To HEAR OUR CRY


He is just waiting
To come and rescue us


I BELIEVE our God
Can rescue us
FROM THIS SITUATION
From any situation


Our suffering NEVER
Goes unnoticed=
Our tears are
Never for nothing=
Our fears are KNOWN
BEFORE we ever ask


He is waiting
He=our Lord
Will RESCUE US=
He will save us


“Daniel=servant
Of the living God


Has your God
Whom you serve continually
Been able to RESCUE YOU
From the lions?” Daniel 6:20


Of course the LORD DID=
He delivered Daniel=
And he can deliver US


“........if this is so
Then the Lord knows
How to RESCUE the godly
From trials


And to hold the unrighteous
For punishment
On the day of judgment” 2 Peter 2:9


Sometimes our prayers
Are answered IMMEDIATELY=
Sometimes the answers are personal
And subtle=and only we understand
The RESPONSE=Sometimes we just
Have to WAIT AND WAIT


“........and to WAIT
For his SON from heaven-
Whom he raised
From the dead--------


Jesus who RESCUES US
From the coming wrath” 1 Thessalonians 1:10


WHAT can we do
While we WAIT
For the RESCUE?
What can we do
While we CRY OUT for GOD?


We can give up control=
We can GIVE OUR TRUST
To GOD=We can REMOVE
Our resistance and lack of acceptance


And FOCUS ON GOD=
Not the problems


The SOLUTION is in God=
TRUST IN HIM=
HE WILL RESCUE US

TO his Father too


STANDING NAKED before God-
The bishop-and all=
ONE DAY we will ALL
Do the same


In the light of the day=
THE TRUTH
Will have its way
WITH US


“Seek me in vain-
I the Lord
SPEAK THE TRUTH=
I declare
What is right” Isaiah 45:19


“Then you will
Know the TRUTH=
And the TRUTH
Will set you free” John 8:32


“They exchanged the TRUTH
About God=for a lie


And worshiped and served
Created things=
Rather than the CREATOR---------


Who is forever praised----amen” Romans 1:25


In the LIGHT
Of the TRUTH=
GOD SEES US


At times=we are all
Naked before God


And at times=like Adam and
Eve in the garden=
We want to hide
We are ASHAMED


Ultimately though=if we
Want to grow
TOWARD CHRIST


We have to ADMIT
Our failures and limitations=
It can be painful
And embarrassing


But it is the
PATH towards light=
The path TOWARDS TRUTH


“IF we deliberately
Keep on sinning
After we have received


The knowledge of the TRUTH=
No sacrifice for sins is left” Hebrews 10:26


I PRAY=Like Saint Francis
To stand bravely=and
With COURAGE before God
And face the TRUTH


May the LIGHT of God and Jesus
And the TRUTH=
Set us FREE from our sins


In Jesus' name=and in the name of our EVER TRUTHFUL FATHER

Salvation doesn't start in eternity=
IT BEGINS NOW


TODAY is a good day
To REMEMBER
The divine love of God
BOTH NOW AND FOREVER!


Our love comes from God=
When we REFLECT on it
When we
Think about it


When we really think about it-
We become MORE AWARE
Of the DIVINE LOVE
Of God=
That FLOWS within us
And BRINGS US PEACE


“SALVATION is found
In no one else


For there is
No other name
Under heaven


Given to mankind
By which
We must be saved” Acts 4:12


Our salvation is in GOD
The Father=and his SON
Jesus Christ=
BOTH NOW AND FOREVER

He BREATHED on them

He then sent them out
To SPEAK for him
In this world


And he sends us out
To SPEAK for him too

We are CALLED
To be DISCIPLES of Christ
And speak for him


SPREAD the good news


“But the word of GOD
Continued to SPREAD
And flourish” Acts 12:24


“In this way
The word of the Lord
SPREAD widely
And grew in power” Acts 19:20


“We sent Timothy
Who is our brother
And co-worker


In God's service
In SPREADING

So what does it MEAN
To be a DISCIPLE
OF CHRIST?


It means leaving
That locked room-or
WHEREVER I/we HIDE
From the world-
And MAKING PEACE


Making PEACE with all
In the NAME of Christ
And God our Father


Moving forward in conversation
And LEADING toward understanding


PEACE is both an OFFERING
From Jesus=
And the RECEIVING
Of the peace
That Jesus offers


And we have to OFFER
That peace of God
To all others


“A heart at PEACE
Gives life to the body=
But envy
Rots the bones” Proverbs 14:30


“Blessed are the PEACEMAKERS=
For they will be called
Children of God” Matthew 5:9


And they will be called
DISCIPLES OF CHRIST!


Dear Lord=BREATHE on to us

Were ordinary men


But they were GIVEN
The CHANCE
To step forward
And be BOLD
And become EXTRAORDINARY


They gave up their lives
For the CAUSE=
To become EXTRAORDINARY


“Observing the BOLDNESS
Of Peter and John

Are we ORDINARY companions
Of Jesus?


Yes=but we have
The CAPACITY
To be EXTRAORDINARY too=
Because of
Our RELATIONSHIP with Jesus


“God did EXTRAORDINARY miracles
Through Paul


So that even handkerchiefs
And aprons
That had touched him
Were taken to the sick


And their illnesses were cured
And the evil spirits
Left them” Acts 19:11


Yes=Jesus
TRANSFORMED the apostles
From ordinary men
To EXTRAORDINARY men
Of miracles


We may NEVER
Perform miracles=but
We can become EXTRAORDINARY
With Jesus Christ
And our loyalty


We are SPECIAL
Modern day disciples


We should be ABLE
To speak the word
With great boldness=
Like Peter and John
We can be bold too


Their examples were EXTRAORDINARY
And it should help us
To be COURAGEOUS TOO


“Be strong and COURAGEOUS=
Do not be afraid
Or terrified-
Because of them=


For the Lord your God
Goes with you
He will never leave you
Or forsake you” Deuteronomy 31:6


“Be on your guard=
Stand firm
In the faith=
BE COURAGEOUS=be strong
Do everything in love” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14


Our job isn't
To AMAZE PEOPLE


All we need to
Is to be recognized as
“COMPANIONS OF JESUS”


That alone
MAKES US EXTRAORDINARY

BY the SMALL LANTERNS
In our life=
They are so IMPRESSIVE


Our favorite priest CAN touch us=
SOMETIMES we put certain
Speakers and authors
On a pedestal


Sometimes we make
These people RESPONSIBLE
For our souls


But they are just
THE SMALL LANTERNS
Pointing the way=to CHRIST


Only Jesus saves=
NO ONE BUT JESUS!


“For God
Did not send him
Into the world


To condemn the world
But to SAVE THE WORLD
Through him” 1 John 3:17


ONLY JESUS can save us=
Go to him and ASK HIM=
How you can be a SMALL LANTERN
And bring others
To him

We are the WITNESSES of God=

But should they have been=

We are the WITNESSES
Of Jesus=the modern day
DISCIPLES of him


“A matter
Must be established
By the testimony
Of two or three WITNESSES” Deuteronomy 19:15


“He(John)-himself
Was not the light


He came only
As a WITNESS
To the light” John 1:8


“But you will receive power
When the Holy Spirit
Comes to you


And you will be
MY WITNESSES in Jerusalem
And in all Judea
And Samaria


And to the ends

And we are HIS WITNESSES
All the way
UNTIL the end of TIME


We see GOD'S WONDERS
All around us


In a baby's laugh
A new sunrise
And in the taste
Of fresh new food


And as WITNESSES-
We are called
To SHARE the evidence
To those who
Are STRUGGLING to believe=
And GIVE THEM HOPE


“Believe me

We are the WITNESSES

From the throes

Because it was IMPOSSIBLE
For him-

But the VICTORY of

Brings a GLORY

Little sin that we commit


HOW FORTUNATE
That we are that Jesus
CHOSE ORDINARY people
For his apostles=
Just like us


We are fortunate
For it
ALLOWS US to see
That God is a
FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL GOD


We love him-
Despite our failings=
But he loves us

SALVATION is NOT for

It is for us=those

SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS

SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS


WE are at the
BEGINNING of
Another Holy Week


With the Corona virus-
Making this a HOLY WEEK=
Like no other
That we have known


NO live Masses=or live
CHRISTIAN SERVICES=except online


“Morning after morning
He opens my EAR
That I may hear” Isaiah 50:4


2,000 years ago=
The disciples were NOT LISTENING=
They all ran away
While Jesus under went
HIS TEST


How are we=how have we
BEEN DOING TODAY?
As a world-
As a nation


Are we TURNING to God=
Or are we
Running away?


Are we LISTENING
To Jesus today?
Or is there
Another SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS again?


We need to be HEAR=
To hear the WORD=to be
MODERN DAY DISCIPLES=
We NEED to hear
The Word of God
And act on it
In our lives


“To the Jews
Who had believed him
Jesus said=


'If you hold
To my teaching
You really are my DISCIPLES


Then you will
Know the truth
And the truth
Will set you free'” John 8:31


“The DISCIPLES' were
Called Christians
First at Antioch” Acts 11:26


I plead with you
My dear brothers and sisters=
Don't let there be
A SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS
Like there was 2,000 years earlier


As we listen today
To the account
Of the AGONY in the GARDEN


We see that there was
A SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS=
We see that
The early disciples were MISSING
JESUS' plea to stay AWAKE


But I BELIEVE=
We are awake
Today SPIRITUALLY=
We are actively listening
For the WORD OF GOD


Even though at times=
We may feel a
LITTLE SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS


Let us LISTEN for the
WORD of God=this Holy Week


“Let the wise LISTEN
And add to their learning
And let the discerning
Get guidance--------” Proverbs 1:5


“Everyone should be
Quick to LISTEN-
Slow to speak=
And slow
To become angry” James 1:19


Today let us listen
For the VOICE of Jesus
And accompany him
ACTIVELY and openly
This HOLY WEEK


NO SPIRITUAL DEAFNESS WITH US!
In the name of Jesus=and us=his loving=LISTENING MODERN DAY DISCIPLES

FOR THE TRUE SAKE OF GOD

FOR THE TRUE SAKE OF GOD


Today we read
About Caiaphas=
As the Jews
Plot to kill Jesus


We know Jesus
CAME TO SAVE
The world=but the world
Had to COOPERATE


For the TRUE SAKE
OF GOD


“........it is better
For you that ONE MAN
Should die
For the people=
Than that the whole NATION PERISH” John 11:50


Caiaphas had his moment
In the SUN=as high priest
That year


He prophesied that
Jesus would die
For the whole JEWISH NATION


But also for
The SCATTERED children of God=
To make them ONE


FOR the TRUE SAKE
Of God


“All your words
ARE TRUE=
All your righteous laws
Are eternal” Psalm 119:160


“Now this is eternal life
That they have you
The only TRUE GOD


And Jesus Christ
Whom you have sent” John 17:3


“Not at all!
Let God BE TRUE
And every human being
A liar


As it is written=
'So that you may
Be proven right
When you speak
And prevail-
When you judge'” Romans 3:4


Caiaphas was a LIAR=
But it turned out
To be TRUE


FOR THE TRUE SAKE
Of God=
That one man
Be SACRIFICED for all


Yes Caiaphas
Had his moment=
In the sun=
But Jesus has his place
In HEAVEN=and on earth
And in OUR HEARTS=
For all of ETERNITY


He SAVED US=one for all=
For the TRUE SAKE
OF GOD


“For God
Did not send his Son
Into the world


To overcome the world
But to SAVE the world
Through him” John 3:17


We are JUST hours away
From PALM SUNDAY=
And our salvation
IS AT HAND


Caiaphas' conspiracy-
ONLY guarantees Christ's ENTHRONEMENT
On the cross


And our REBIRTH
As CHILDREN OF GOD


For the ONE TRUE SAKE
OF OUR GOD


In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our FOREVER TRUTHFUL FATHER!

WITNESS

LIVING STONES










It seems sometimes
This life is set up
For us to stumble
Stumble and fall


Stumble on our health matters
Stumble on our financial matters
Stumble in our relationships


“Though he stumble, he will not fall
He will not fall
For the Lord upholds him
With his hand” Psalm 37:4


Sometimes we not only stumble
Sometimes we actually do fall


Jesus falls the first time


But he got back up
How about us
Are we going to get back up


“For to his angels
He has given command about you
That they guard you
In all your ways


Upon their hands
They shall bear you up
Lest you dash your foot against a stone” Psalm 91:11-12






We may stumble again
Maybe even fall a second time


Jesus did
Actually fell a second time---but he got back up
How about us


Are we going to get back up


And as angels hold us up
We are to help others,


“We who are strong
Ought to bear
With the failings of the weak
Each of us
Should please his neighbor
For his good--- to build him up” Romans 15:1&2


Even with the help of angels
Even with the help of others
We may fall yet again


Jesus did
Jesus fell for even a third time


But his Father lifted him
One more time
To live with him for ALL of eternity


Success in life
Is getting back up
One more time
Than we get knocked down


God will
Bear you up
The angels
Will bear you up
Lest you dash your foot
Against a stone


“The stone
That the builders rejected
Has become the cornerstone” Psalm 118:22


“As you come to him---the living stone
Rejected by men
But chosen by God
And precious to him
You also---like living stones
Are being built into a spiritual house
To be a holy priesthood
Offering spiritual sacrifices
Acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” 1 Peter 2:4 & 5


By staying connected to God
By believing in Christ
Though we may stumble
Though we may fall


We---as believers---will be
TRANSFORMED INTO LIVING STONES

THE ROCK OF MY LIFE

THE ROCK OF MY LIFE


For as LONG
As I can REMEMBER=
The Lord has been
THE ROCK of my life


I have BUILT my life
On loving God=
On loving others=the
First two commandments


The Lord is-
THE ROCK OF MY LIFE


“I love you=O Lord=
My strength=


O Lord
MY ROCK=my fortress=
My deliverer” Psalm 18:2-3


We think we are
BUILDING ROCK solid lives
But the things


Of this world
DON'T LAST


Our lives don't last=
Our lives are fleeting=
MONEY sure doesn't last-
And relationships
Break down too


We have to BUILD
Our lives
ON THE LORD=
The ROCK solid Lord


“He lifted me out
Of the slimy pit-
Out of the mud
And mire


He set me free
ON A ROCK
And gave me
A firm place
To stand” Psalm 40:2


“Therefore everyone
Who hears these words of mine-
And puts them
Into practice


Is like a wise man
Who builds his house
ON THE ROCK” Matthew 7:24


“........and drank
The same spiritual drink


For they drank
From the SPIRITUAL ROCK
That accompanied them


And that ROCK=
WAS CHRIST” 1 Corinthians 10:4


Yes Jesus is Lord
He is the ROCK
Of my life


He is
Who I have
MODELED my life after=
And I love him dearly


EVERYTHING in life disintegrates=
Everything in life
Passes away


EXCEPT for the words=
Except for the
Teachings of Jesus Christ


“Heaven and earth
Will pass away
But MY WORDS
Will never pass away” Matthew 24:35


And you will NEVER
Pass away=
You will LIVE FOREVER


If you have
Built your life on ROCK=
If you have-
LIVED in the love of CHRIST


I/we will stand forever
In the Lord


On his SURE-
Strong=and lasting love


Lord=be my ROCK TODAY=
And every day of
My dear life=and yours


In the names of Jesus=and our FOREVER LASTING FATHER!

COUNTING ON OTHERS!

COUNTING ON OTHERS!


There once was a saying
“NO MAN
Is an island”


And that is so TRUE=
I have lived a life
TOTALLY DEPENDENT on God=
And I have COUNTED
ON OTHERS=
For many things in life


God and others
Have NOT
Let me down


When Abraham prostrated himself=
God spoke to him” Genesis 17:3


Abraham EXPERIENCED GOD
In today's readings=
He was DEPENDING on God too


“I am making you
The FATHER
Of a host
Of nations” Genesis 17:5


It is funny
That there is
So much DIVISION
In this world


ALL of our roots
Can be TRACED
Back to Abraham


We all NEED TO
COUNT on each other
In order to SURVIVE


In this age of
Corona virus=we are all
DEPENDING on one another


We all need to
HELP one another


“Lord my God
I called to you
FOR HELP
And you healed me” Psalm 30:2


“So do not fear
For I am with you


Do not be dismayed
For I am your God=
I will strengthen you-
AND HELP YOU” Isaiah 41:10


“In my distress
I called
To the Lord
And he answered me


From deep
In the realm of the dead
I called FOR HELP
And you
Listened to my cry” Jonah 2:2


Since my first operation
In January of 1977


I have been TOTALLY
DEPENDENT on God and others=
And God=family=and friends
Have ALL come through for me


And I HOPE I have
COME THROUGH for them in some
Ways too=
Especially in powerful PRAYERFUL PRESENCE


We are all
INTERDEPENDENT on one another


COUNTING ON OTHERS=
How valuable our
Prayerful presence is


“Hear my PRAYER-LORD=
Listen to my cry
For mercy” Psalm 86:6


“The Lord detests
The sacrifice
Of the wicked


But the PRAYER
Of the upright
Pleases him” Proverbs 15:8


In this day
Of the CORONA virus=
Let us COUNT ON
EACH OTHER=
Let us-
Lift each other up


WHEN we pray for each OTHER=
And stay at home=
And make the sacrifices
We NEED TO MAKE


In the name of Jesus=and our ALWAYS DEPENDABLE FATHER
