WE ARE WITNESSES OF GOD

WE ARE WITNESSES OF GOD


We are the WITNESSES of God=
Witnesses of Jesus=just the way
HIS first DISCIPLES were


IMAGINE how those first disciples
Must have FELT=
When the RISEN CHRIST
Joined them


They were surprised-startled-
Terrified-joyous-and INCREDULOUS


But should they have been=
Jesus told them-
He had COME
To FULFILL the prophecies


And they are/were WITNESSED
Of everything that happened
In those first three years
Of his PUBLIC MINISTRY


“You are WITNESSES
Of these things” Luke 24:48


Maybe they hadn't
STOPPED to think about
All the things
He had told them-
What he actually MEANT


But we are WITNESSES TOO=
And we see the EVIDENCE
Every day=in our own lives


We are the WITNESSES
Of Jesus=the modern day
DISCIPLES of him


“A matter
Must be established
By the testimony
Of two or three WITNESSES” Deuteronomy 19:15


“He(John)-himself
Was not the light


He came only
As a WITNESS
To the light” John 1:8


“But you will receive power
When the Holy Spirit
Comes to you


And you will be
MY WITNESSES in Jerusalem
And in all Judea
And Samaria


And to the ends
Of the earth” Acts 1:8


And we are HIS WITNESSES
All the way
UNTIL the end of TIME


We see GOD'S WONDERS
All around us


In a baby's laugh
A new sunrise
And in the taste
Of fresh new food


And as WITNESSES-
We are called
To SHARE the evidence
To those who
Are STRUGGLING to believe=
And GIVE THEM HOPE


“Believe me
When I say=
That I am
In the Father


And that the Father
Is in me


Or at least believe
All the EVIDENCE
Of the works themselves” John 14:11


We are the WITNESSES
Of God and Jesus=all the way
Until the END OF TIME


Dear Lord=please USE our lips
And our BODIES=to OPEN the eyes
Of others


In the names of Jesus=and our Father=our EVER LIVING GOD
