FACE-TO-FACE WITH JESUS

Are you FACE-TO-FACE

With Jesus every day?

Are you sitting down

With the LORD?

Every day I say

MY PRAYERS=I tell him

My hopes=my dreams=and

MY FEARS=How about you?

Do you do this too?

“........and they were ASTONISHED

At his teaching-

Because he spoke with authority” Luke 4:32

We take so many things

In our modern life

For GRANTED=

Things that others-

In OTHER parts o the world

Would consider MIRACLES

Flipping the switch

For the lights=

Running water=air conditioning

Theses are EVERY DAY MIRACLES

That we would miss

And then think

About the MORNINGS

When we read

And take in

The WORD OF GOD

We think only a LITTLE

About the life and authority

Of the words of Jesus

FACE-TO-FACE with Jesus

Every day miracles

“Many Lord= are asking=

'Who will bring us prosperity?'=

Let the light

OF YOUR FACE

Shine on us” Psalm 4:6

“Therefore have I

Set my FACE like flint

And I know

I will not be

Put to shame” Isaiah 50:7

“For God who said

'Let light

Shine out of darkness'

Made his light

Shine in our hearts

To give us

The light of the knowledge

Of God's glory-displayed in

The FACE OF CHRIST” 2 Corinthians 4:6

FACE-TO-FACE with Jesus=

We forget what it means

For God to have walked among us

In the person of Jesus=

And left behind

Parables=his voice

And his wisdom

He taught us how to live=

It makes me WONDER-

WHY so many of us

Just aren't doing it

Sometimes words are just words=

But when it comes

To Jesus' words=

They are

The words of GOD

And when we read

The WORDS of God=

We are face-to-face

With Jesus

“Heaven and earth

Will pass away

But MY WORDS-

Will never pass away” Matthew 24:35

LIVE by the words of Jesus=

Live with him=FACE-TO-FACE

And you might be astonished

You will LIVE FOREVER TOO

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our EVER FAITHFUL GOD

So much going ON

In our world=

The Corona virus=
Racial UNREST=

And POLITICAL DIVISIONS

At every turn

But I BELIEVE that despite everything

That in the end=

The SPIRIT OF GOD

WILL WIN OUT=

The SPIRIT of love

“For I resolved

To know nothing

While I was with you

EXCEPT Jesus Christ........” 1 Corinthians 2:2

We live in a society

OBSESSED with greatness

And fame

We love to gossip

About CELEBRITIES=and we

Celebrate anyone

Who seems to STAND OUT=

Just a little bit remarkable

Whether we intend to

Or not=WE JUDGE PEOPLE

Based on their net worth=

How SUCCESSFUL they are

And what they look like

But Jesus and Paul

Teach us ANOTHER WAY=

They teach us

THE WAY OF LOVE

They SHARE the good news

With the poor

And the suffering

They teach us that

THE SPIRIT OF GOD WINS OUT!

“I press on toward

Toward the goal

To WIN the prize

For which God has called me

Heavenward in Christ Jesus” Philippians 3:14

“........so that your daily life

MAY WIN

The respect of outsiders

And so that you will

NOT be dependent on anybody” 1 Thessalonians 4:12

To do GOD'S WORK

We don't have

To know much=

We need not

Be extraordinary

IF we are living

By the COMMANDS of God=

Probably few people

Will notice us

We need NOT convince

Anyone of anything

But I thoroughly BELIEVE

If we are CONSISTENT

In living God's word

The SPIRIT of God

WILL WIN OUT=

The Spirit of God

Will win IN OUR LIVES

Our “YES” to God

Is important in

The whole SCHEME of things

More important than anything else

In our lives

“Create in me

A pure heart=O God

And renew a steadfast SPIRIT

Within me” Psalm 51:10

“Since we live

By the SPIRIT

Let us keep in step

With the SPIRIT” Galatians 5:25

The world may NEVER NOTICE US=

But it will notice

The SPIRIT OF GOD in us

And the SPIRIT OF GOD

WILL WIN OUT IN THE END

THINKING LIKE GOD!

Are you THINKING like God?

Are you DOING God's will?

I TRY=but the only way

To know for SURE=is when

We meet our MAKER!

LOOKING in the

Rear view mirror=for the Lord to

POINT OUT our faults

And our truths

“You are THINKING NOT

As God does=

But as human beings do” Matthew 6:23

I can SEE GOD at the

World's end=or at my life's end

POINTING OUT all of my faults

I look forward

To his wise counsel=

I wish I had it NOW

I wish we ALL

Had it now

We are living in a world

FILLED with the Corona virus

Filled with racism

Filled with poverty

Just look at

WHERE thinking like man

Has gotten us

The real way out

Of this MESS is

To FOLLOW the way of God

Follow the COMMANDMENTS

The way Jesus did

'LOVE the Lord your God

The SCRIPTURE readings today

FOCUS on doing

The will of God

After Peter recognizes

Jesus as the MESSIAH!=

He tries to talk Jesus

Out of

Going through with HIS PASSION

And Jesus REMINDS us all

That we think

NOT as God does

But as humans do

I wish we all

Had the FORESIGHT of God=

Maybe the world

Would be in

A BETTER PLACE

Jesus wants us all

To take up OUR CROSS

“Whoever does not take

UP THEIR CROSS

Whoever finds their life

For my sake

We want the easy path=

The easy road for us all

But Jesus wants us

The CROSS was God's will=

And what was difficult

For him=

WAS A BLESSING

Dear Lord=even when the path

Is hard=

HELP US to do your will

HELP US to THINK like you and Jesus

PAYING THE PRICE!

 

PAYING THE PRICE!

I want to be

A GOOD PERSON=Don't you?

I want to be

A FOLLOWER of Christ!

Don't you?

That is what John

The Baptist was=

And he PAID THE PRICE

With his life

We too may have

To PAY A PRICE

To be

A follower of Christ

“Herod feared John=

Knowing him

To be a righteous

And HOLY MAN........” Mark 6:20

The POWER OF GOODNESS

Is a great quality

To have

It has the power

To ATTRACT PEOPLE

And it has the power

To make people FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE

That is what John the Baptist

Did to King Herod

He had John

Thrown into prison=

But did NOT

Execute him immediately

He loved

To hear John speak

Herod was genuinely fascinated

And even BAFFLED by John

GOOD PEOPLE do that

To us=because they LIVE

In a different way

They live in a way

That TRANSCENDS self-centeredness

And it defies time and logic

But as John the BAPTIST found out-

Sometimes there are consequences

To pay

For being a GOOD PERSON

PAYING THE PRICE!

“Trust in the Lord

And do GOOD=

Dwell in the land

And enjoy safe pasture” Psalm 37:3

“A cheerful heart

IS GOOD MEDICINE

But a crushed spirit

Dries up the bones” Proverbs 17:22

“How beautiful on the mountains

Are the feet of those

Who bring GOOD NEWS

Who proclaim peace

Who bring GOOD TIDINGS

Who proclaim salvation

Who say to Zion=

'YOUR GOD REIGNS'” Isaiah 52:7

GOODNESS has the power

To arouse anger and hatred

That is what happened to John

He PAID THE PRICE=

Jesus paid the price=

And we sometimes-

Have to PAY THE PRICE

For being good=DOING GOOD

Throughout Christian history=

GOOD PEOPLE have spoken

God's truth=and have had

To PAY THE PRICE

“You are NOT

Your own=you were BOUGHT

At a PRICE

Therefore honor God

With your bodies” 1 Corinthians 6:20

WHO attracts you

In this world

With their GOODNESS?

Are you paying

A PRICE for your FAITH?

That you give us

The COURAGE that we need

PRAYER OF FAITH

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve

I asked for health, that I might do great things

I was given infirmity, that I might know what is great

I asked God for riches, that I might be happy

But I was given poverty, that I might be wise

I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men

CONVERSION stories=

Finding ourselves=and loving God

THROUGH IT ALL!

He CONVERTED to Christianity

Is a DOCTOR of the CHURCH

He once said=

“Lord-give me CHASTITY=

But not yet”

We all change

Through this world=

WE FIND GOD

And we lose him

I FOUND GOD=when I found

He was the ONLY THING left

From my old world

“I the Lord=DO NOT CHANGE

So you=the descendants of Jacob

In life=even LOSING GOD

THE HIGHWAY TO NOWHERE

I’m on a highway to nowhere

Sometimes don’t even know where I’m coming from

Sometimes I don’t even care

Because I know where I’m at

And that is all I need

To curb my inner fears

You got to run your own race

You’re not in competition with anyone

So set your own pace

There’s miles to go before it’s over

So just relax

And along the way have some fun

Back on the highway to nowhere

All the cars go flying by

I’m tempted to try to pick up the pace

But then I let it slide

I’m just trying to stay within myself

I’m not reaching for the sky

The highway to nowhere

Where does it begin

Where does it end

How many of us know where we are going

How many of us know where we’ve been

I’ve been on the highway to nowhere
Too many times in my life

I’ll be on the highway to nowhere

Probably too many times again

But right now I’m in the pits

Charting a highway to somewhere

So I know where I’m at

And that’s all I need

To curb my inner fears

You have to run your race

You have to set your own pace

You’re not in competition with anyone

Your only goal should be to get there

And along the way to have some fun

Standing in the pits and looking out on to the highway to nowhere

All the people flying by

Think they’re getting ahead

But they keep going around in circles

Over and over and over again

Wonder if they know where they began

Wonder if they know they’ll never reach the end

Back on the highway to nowhere

But I think I’m going somewhere

Because I’m running my own race

I’m setting my own pace

Some people keep passing me over and over again

But they keep winding up behind me

They don’t even know where they’ve been

That’s the way it is

BEYOND ANYTHING!

It is easy to MAKE CONCLUSIONS

About people=but we

Are OFTEN WRONG

It is a a HUMBLING EXPERIENCE

To be proven wrong=

When we MAKE JUDGMENTS

About people=that is WHY

It is best

NOT to do it

“God's greatness is UNSEARCHABLE” Psalm 145:3

We can FALTER in the

Same way=when we

Consider the MYSTERY OF GOD

God KNOWS so much=

And we know so LITTLE

In our desire=

To Know God

We can MISTAKENLY ASSUME

That the judgments

We make about OURSELVES

And others= are

Also God's

But God knows so much

MORE THAN US=

His knowledge

Is BEYOND ANYTHING!

It helps me

To remember that GOD'S COMPASSION=

Generosity=and mercy

Are BEYOND anything

That I can conceive of

God has great COMPASSION=

Generosity and mercy

For us all

“From heaven you heard them

And in your GREAT COMPASSION

You gave them deliverers

Who rescued them

From the hand

Of their enemies” Nehemiah 9:27

“The Lord is

Good to all

He has COMPASSION

On all=he has made” Psalm 145:9

“For the Lord

Comforts his people

And will HAVE COMPASSION

On his afflicted ones” Isaiah 49:13

NONE of us know

What is IN another

Person's heart

None of us KNOW

The road

Someone else HAS WALKED

Therefore we would be WISE

To avoid

Jumping to conclusions

The Lord's COMPASSION

For us all

Is BEYOND ANYTHING!

“Therefore as God's chosen people=

Holy and dearly loved

Clothe yourself with COMPASSION=

Kindness=and humility=

Gentleness=and patience” Colossians 3:12

“The Lord is full

Of COMPASSION and mercy” James 5:11

Even the most loving=

GENEROUS=and wise

Among us

Reflect only a GLIMPSE

Into the HEART

Of our CREATOR

Our Lord=the Lord=

Is generous BEYOND ANYTHING!

To all of us

He is FULL OF COMPASSION!

It is the GIFT of God

ACCEPTING HIS INVITATION

 

ACCEPTING HIS INVITATION!

What is it

That makes you HAPPY
In this world?

BEING KIND to others

And REACHING out to others

Makes me happy

I don't like to hurt others

IN ANY WAY=physically=emotionally=

Or in any other way=

I try to FOLLOW

In the WAYS

Of the Lord!

“HAPPY are you

Who fear the Lord-

Who walk in his ways!” Psalm 128:1

And as I grew OLDER=

I learned that WALKING

In the ways of God

Was the PATH

That led to HAPPINESS

ACCEPT Jesus' invitation

To follow him

Accept his INVITATION

To love the Father

With your whole HEART and soul

Accept his invitation

LOVE OTHERS=as you love yourself

“For many are INVITED=

But few are chosen” Matthew 22:14

“For I was hungry-

And you gave me

Something to eat

For I was thirsty

And you gave me

Something to drink

I was a stranger

And you INVITED ME IN” Matthew 25:35

“If an unbeliever

INVITES you to a meal

And you want to go

Eat whatever

Is put in front of you

Without raising questions of conscience” 1 Corinthians 10:27

God and Jesus

Really want you to be HAPPY

And God

Sent his ONLY SON

To show us

WHERE the path to happiness

Could be found

His life REVEALED it all=

And he wants to

SHARE his happiness

With us

I for one

ACCEPT HIS INVITATION=

What about you?

He INVITED us

To follow him=

Could that be the

ULTIMATE KEY to HAPPINESS?

Just following him

“Listen to advice

And ACCEPT discipline

And at the end

You will be counted

Among the wise” Proverbs 19:20

“ACCEPT one another then

Just as

Christ ACCEPTED you

In order to bring

Praise to God” Romans 15:7

I ACCEPT the Father's INVITATION

To FOLLOW his son Jesus

In as many WAYS

As humanly possible

To find God

What is your story?

What is your testimony?

Are you seeing God in your life?

Even in your enemies?

Even in the bad things

That happen in your life?

Because my friend

God is everywhere

He is everyone

He is everything

Because my testimony-my friend

Is that GOD is in you

God is in me

Every time you love someone

Every time you forgive someone

Every time you perform an act of kindness for someone

You are acting like God

Whoever you are

I want you to know that

Isaiah ENCOURAGES us to look within ourselves and ask: WHAT do I have to offer God and others this Lent? What SHARING will grow my OWN SPIRIT as well as ENCOURAGE my neighbor?

GOD has a dream and a PLAN for our LIVES-and in the long run-it is ALL GOOD-but sometimes it involves fighting through the difficult circumstances of our own life-bad choices that we have made-and sometimes just misfortune

BUT THE GOOD NEWS is-that GOD never gives up on us-ENCOURAGES US-PROTECTS US-and walks every step of our lives with us-HE LOVES US and has a FULL DREAM for our lives

“SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME”
Is one of my favorite movies

It is a 1987 film

Where a cop

Acting as a bodyguard

For a murder witness

Falls in love

With the woman

He is protecting

To make matters worse

The cop has a wife and a child

Wouldn’t that be great

If we had someone watching over us

Someone protecting us

Every minute of every day

But we do

OUR GOD AND OUR FATHER

So as we journey through life

When we run into trouble

Our God and Father protects us

“You are my hiding place

You will protect me from trouble

And surround me

With songs of deliverance” Psalm 32:7

Isn’t that GREAT

We travel through life daily

And we have someone watching over us

Someone ready

To DELIVER US from our troubles

All we have to do is ask

And turn out hearts back to him

“Hear the word of the Lord

Oh nations

Proclaim it in distant coast lands

He who scattered Israel

Will gather them

And WATCH OVER his flock

Like a shepherd” Jeremiah 31:10

“For the Lord WATCHES OVER

The way of the righteous

But the wicked will perish” Psalm 1:6

So we know

THE LORD WATCHES OVER US

And we know

That he not only watches over us

But he will come get us

When we become lost

On the highway of life

And he will DELIVER us

And then he DELIVERS US safely home

Saint Report

I chose Saint Rose of Lima as my Confirmation Saint. She was born in Peru, South America and also died there. Her death was in 1617 when she was only thirty-one. Saint Rose is the Patroness of South America. She was also the first saint of the Americas.

Rose was always a good person. She was very obedient to her parents and always did tasks with a smiling face. She was always trying to please others. Rose was a beautiful girl. Her mother wanted her to wear pretty clothes but she said that only beauty of the soul is worthwhile. When a man wanted to marry her; to give her a large home with servants, she refused because she only wanted to love and serve God. Rose was always good to her parents. When they lost all of their money she went out to work every day to help them. She also went to the homes of the poor and brought them food.

She was definitely seen as a saint in her own time. She was always helping others and never doing anything wrong. Rose cared about everyone; good or bad. Often times the Lord appeared to her to tell her how pleased He was with her and her kind deeds.

I chose Saint Rose of Lima because I’ve always wanted to be like her. I used to look through the book of saints when I was a little girl and she always stood out. I liked the name, but it was more about her actions as to why I chose her. Rose was actually going to be my middle name, but my parents changed it to Elizabeth. Also my grandmothers saint name was Rose. I’d give anything to be like my grandmother; she was much like Saint Rose. Always caring and passionate for everything.

I learned that not only was Saint Rose of Lima kind to people, but she was kind to animals too. I learned that I am more like Rose than I thought. I am extremely passionate for animals. I’ve always dreamed of being a veterinarian in the future. I also would give anything and everything to please my family and friends. Those three things are what I always put first. I am ready to make this change in my life and be inspired by Saint Rose!

As the CHURCH is concerned

But as CHRISTIANS=we have

To be LIVING= like every day

Is EXTRAORDINARY=

Is a BLESSING FROM GOD

It is not Advent-or Lent=

Christmas or Easter=

But it is a SPECIAL DAY

Given to us

From God the FATHER

And EVERY DAY from God

Is a BLESSING!

How inscrutable

Are his judgments

And how unsearchable

His ways!........

For from him

We have been given

A NEW DAY

From God the Father

CARRYING EACH OTHER'S BURDENS

 

CARRYING ANOTHER’S BURDENS

Have you ever

Tried to help another human being

I mean really help someone

NOT just giving lip service

Whether it be family, friend

Or a virtual stranger

We ALL need help

At one time or another

It may be

Because of health difficulties

It may be

Because of financial problems or obligations

A lost job---mitigating circumstances

Broken relationships within a family

Or with a very close friend

In any case

We need help---we can’t do it alone

Because we are fighting heavy battles

And we are losing

It may surprise you to know

That OUR LORD knows this

It wasn’t any different 2000 years ago

Jesus saw this

And with a compassionate loving heart

He said,

“Come to me

All you who are weary and heavy burdened

And I will give you rest

Take my yoke upon you

And learn from me

For I am gentle and humble of heart

And you will find rest

For your souls

For my yoke is easy

And my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30

A yoke is the instrument

That binds 2 animals together

Maybe you have

So many problems

That you feel

You have nothing left

To help someone else

Maybe you have

So many burdens

That you feel

Nothing and no one can help you

I have some news for you

Jesus can

He carried

The weight of the world

Some 2000 years ago

I thin he is quite capable

Of carrying yours and my burdens

We live

In a world

Full of selfishness

Becoming more and more so

Each day

“What the world needs now

Is love---sweet love

It is the only thing

That there is just too little of” from a song many years ago

Tiredness of body---come to me

Weakness of soul and spirit---come to me

Jesus says,

“Come to me

Let me help you

Carry your burdens”

He can carry burdens

And solve problems

That we never can

Maybe

Burdens and problems that we

Were never intended to carry

Moses believed in God’s promises

Abraham believed

The Blessed Mother---Mary---believed

In Jesus’ day

He often talked about being

“CHILDREN OF LIGHT”

Mistakenly-the people of his day

Thought he meant being “spiritual” was good

And being “earthly” was bad

What Jesus was in fact

Trying to teach us

Was to CHOOSE good instead of evil

So how can we be CHILDREN OF LIGHT

In today’s world

Give someone who can’t get out

A ride to the Doctor’s office

Or to the store to get groceries

Volunteer at a hospital or a rescue mission

Send someone a birthday or a get-well card

Do something good for someone-ANONYMOUSLY

There are any number of things

That we can do in today’s world

Or we can choose to live selfish-self-absorbed lives

Concerned ONLY with ourselves-our own material goals

Our own sexuality-or our own needs

Choose to be a “child of light” in today’s world

For EACH of us-Saint or sinner-or most likely somewhere in between-there is a PATH in life-ACTUALLY there are many paths put in front of us-BUT for those of us BLESSED with the WISDOM of God-we will always choose GOD'S PATH

Dear Lord-we PRAY that we are HUMBLE enough, and ACCEPTING ENOUGH to ANSWER the call for our life that you put before us-for IF we live out our life and our calling in a worthy manner-we WILL ALWAYS BE walking with you Dear Lord

it is a GREAT DAY to answer GOD'S CALLING for our life and a great day to be ALIVE in God's love for us

CALLED TO SERVE

Are you

Living a life of service

If you are

You are in good company

After all-that is what Jesus did

“No one has greater love than this

To lay down one’s life

For one’s friends” John 15:13

As Christians

We are to put our lives

On the line-every day

IN LOVE

For our family

For our friends

And anyone/everyone we can help

During the course of the day

IF we can

The Lord said,

“It is no small thing

For you to be my servant

To restore the tribes of Jacob

And to bring back those of Israel

I have kept

I will also

Make you a light

For the Gentiles

That you may bring my salvation

To the ends of the earth” Isaiah 49:6

And Jesus himself said,

“Not so with you

Instead-whoever wants to be great

Among you

Must be your servant

And whoever wants to be first

Must be slave to all

For even the Son of Man

Did not come to be served

But to serve

And to give his life

As a ransom for many” Mark 10:43-45

There it is

SUDDENLY—BEING GREAT

Doesn’t sound too appealing

At least to me

How about you

Being great involves choices

Choices that CHANGE our lives

And the lives of our family

Our friends, and even strangers

And sometimes these choices

In serving

Are uncomfortable-unpleasant-

And even inconvenient and annoying

Dear Lord-we pray

That we-as you did

Make choices that benefit others

Even if sometimes-it works against

Our OWN selfish interests

Dear Lord-HELP US-like you

To be willing to pay the price

GOD SENT ME AN ANGEL

God sent me an angel from heaven

God sent me an angel from up above

God sent me an angel

God sent me an angel

An angel filled with love

He came to me out of nowhere

He was my friend

He helped me financially

He fixed my roof

He fixed my car too

God sent me an angel

An angel filled with love

He really was my friend

He helped me out

Without my even having to ask

He just did it

He just did it out of love

God sent me an angel from heaven

An angel filled with love

I felt like

I wasn’t there

When he was in need

But I know that that is not really true

Because to hold myself responsible

Is the last thing

He would want me to do

Today we have

The story

Of the RICH YOUNG MAN

Who wants to know

What he must do

To enter into ETERNAL LIFE

COUNTING THE COST!

“Just then a man

Came up to Jesus

And asked

'Teacher=what good thing

MUST I do to

Get ETERNAL LIFE?'” Matthew 19:16

“'Why do you ask me

About what is good?'

Jesus replied

'There is only ONE

Who is good

If you want to enter life

Keep the commandments'” Matthew 19:17

Which ones he says?

Jesus RECITES some of

The commandments=and then says

“........You shall LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR

As yourself” Matthew 19:19

COUNTING THE COST

To heaven=

Counting the COST

TO ETERNAL LIFE

It isn't easy to LOVE OTHERS

More than ourselves=Loving ourselves

Should come naturally

I WONDER if we

Have become like

The rich young man=

Just a little bit

WANTING to follow Jesus

Yet COUNTING THE COST

I hope we respond=and

NOT walk away SAD

Like the rich young man

“The beginning of wisdom

Is this=get wisdom

Though it COST all

You have=get understanding” Proverbs 4:7

“Come all you

Who are thirsty

Come to the waters

And you

Who have no money

Come-buy and eat

Come buy wine and milk

Without money and

WITHOUT COST” Isaiah 55:1

“To the thirsty

I will give water

WITHOUT COST

From the spring

Of the water of life” Revelation 21:6

WHEN we come to

The TERMS of the COST

Of following Jesus

May we turn

TOWARD JESUS

And not away

Like the rich young man did

May we ACCEPT OURSELVES

And others

Just the way

That JESUS accepts us

And may we LOVE OTHERS

In just the same way

As we LOVE OURSELVES

IF following the commandments

Is the way

To ETERNAL LIFE

May we do so

WITHOUT COUNTING COST

May we ALWAYS love

God and Jesus number one

And love others

Just the same way

We love ourselves

WITHOUT COUNTING THE COST!

Where is God’s treasure

Ps The heart is figuratively the center of person-that which

Gives direction to a person

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance

Or his height for I have rejected him

The Lord does not look at the things man looks at

Man looks at the outward appearance

BUT THE LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART” 1 Samuel 16:7

“Above all-guard your HEART

HER FAITH MOVES JESUS

 

HER FAITH MOVES JESUS!

Today we have a woman

Who only wanted the LEFTOVERS=

Who wanted the table scraps

But her faith TOUCHED JESUS=

Her faith reached

Jesus' COMPASSION

“She said='Please Lord

For even the dogs

Eat the scraps

That FALL from the table

Of their masters'” Matthew 15:23

This poor woman

APPEALS to Jesus' mercy

To HEAL her daughter

She humbles herself

And asks Jesus

To do WHATEVER he can

TO HELP

We are given a LESSON

In mercy and HUMILITY

As Jesus recognizes

The woman's deep faith

HER FAITH MOVES JESUS!

“Then he touched

Their eyes and said

'According to your FAITH

Let it be done

To you'

And their sight was restored” Romans 9:29-30

“For in the gospel

The righteousness of God

Is revealed--------

A righteousness that is

BY FAITH

From first to last=

Just as it is written

'The righteous will LIVE BY FAITH'” Romans 1:17

“Be on your guard-

Stand firm IN THE FAITH=

Be courageous-be strong-

Do everything in love” 1 Corinthians 16:17

UNLIKE the apostles

Who tried to shoo

This woman away

We must NOT IGNORE

The people=who reach out

To us

We need to HELP the people

Who cry out

To us IN FAITH

We need to RESPOND

To those who cry out

For the COMPASSION OF JESUS

HER FAITH MOVED JESUS!

We need to be moved

And HELP OTHERS TOO

“You make your

SAVING HELP my shield=

Your HELP

Has made me great” 2 Samuel 22:36

“I will strengthen you

And HELP YOU=

I will uphold you

With my righteous right hand” Isaiah 41:10

We NEED to respond

To people who reach out

To us in FAITH

We need to respond

With the COMPASSION OF JESUS=

NOT just look away

We need to GIVE MORE

Than the table scraps=to her

From the table

HER FAITH moved Jesus!=

We need to

Be MOVED by faith too

In Jesus' name=and in the name=of our EVER responding FATHER OF NEED!

A TREMENDOUS WILL TO LIVE

Once upon a time

I saw a gastroenterologist

In Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

My stomach was blown out

To about 45 inches

Like it gets sometimes

These days-almost all of the time

I was in tremendous pain

And he asked about all my operations

And my medical history

He said,

“You must have a tremendous will to live”

That I do

Because every time

That I want to quit

Every time

That I want to give up

I remind myself

Of all those years ago

And what I said,

“I don’t think God

Wants me to die

But if he does

There must be a reason

And if I do die

To please bless my father, my mother,

Terri and Mary, my friends, and my work

Because it would be harder on them

Than it would be on me

I would be gone

But if God wants me to live

I would live for my family, my friends

And all people everywhere”

I woke up two weeks later alive

I see my job

As keeping my word to God

And bringing as much love to others

As humanly possible
