Western Pennsylvania area

And we will be

Right where we=ARE SUPPOSED TO BE

 

The great Roy Rogers=my childhood hero

Used to say

But in deference to Roy

UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

IS NOT WORKING

I miss=CLOSE PERSONAL FRIENDS

When God and Jesus

ARE LIVING=in our hearts

 

We are never too young

Or are we too old

If we=are OPEN TO GOD

 

“But the Lord answered me

To whomever I send you

Whatever I command you

Please KNOW

That you will be in MY HEART

And you will be=in my soul=and

“I CAN'T WAIT”-

In this life

TILL I am in high school

I get my driver's license

The GENERAL IDEA

“Gossip and  Judgment”

 

 

Have you ever been gossiped about and judged?  Which one of us has a right to judge someone

Else?  Which one of us truly knows what is in somebody else’s heart?

 

Who remembers the story of the people judging an adulterous woman ( John 8:4 )?  Who

Remembers what Jesus did?  He started writing the other people’s sins on the ground.

Who remembers what he said?  He said:  “If anyone of you is without sin, let him be the

First to throw a stone at her.”

 

Do you remember what happened?  They all walked away until only the woman and Jesus

Were left. 

 

What if the next time you and I gossiped about someone, Jesus had a skyscraper write your

Sins in the sky?

 

I don’t know about you, but I would run away as fast as I could…..

BRING all of your GIFTS

To God=HE can work his

BIGGEST MIRACLE though your flaw

Through our biggest weaknesses

He DID IT with me

The Lord chose Jesus' mortality

He CHOSE my health

To TURN me around

WHAT WILL he do for you?

What GIFTS can you bring him?

Into the PRESENCE

Lord--what makes it so hard

I think it’s just selfishness

Today we read

The story

Of Martha and Mary

 

You might think

That there is=A RIVALRY

Between the two sisters

BUT NOTHING could be further

From the truth

 

Jesus is just USING

The setting

To teach us=Yet another lesson

ONLY ONE THING

IS NEEDED=and that is

To worship God

No rivalry here

 

“There is NEED

Of only ONE THING”                                                                                                            Luke 10:42

 

“Mary has chosen

WHAT IS BETTER

And it will not be

Taken away from her”                                                                                                       Luke 10:42

 

Mary and Martha=are BOTH

SERVING God=each

In their respective ways

Both are good

 

But LISTENING to the Word of God

Reveling in the word of God

Is ALWAYS the better part

Jesus tells us that today

 

Martha is busy

At the work=of demonstrating HOSPITALITY

And is in the kitchen

 

Mary is sitting at Jesus’ feet

And listening

FOR the Word Of God

 

Listening to Jesus=FOLLOWING

The way of God

Is always better to SUSTAIN US

In this life=and FOREVER

 

“Do not=Be like them

For your Father knows

What you NEED=before you ask him”                                                                             Matthew 6:8

 

Bot sisters are worshipping God

In their own way=but ONLY ONE WAY

Is absolutely needed

LISTENING TO GOD

 

“The eye cannot say

To the arm=’I don’t NEED YOU!’

And the head=cannot say to

The feet=’I don’t need you!’”                                                                                        1 Corinthians 12:21

 

“Share with the Lord’s people

WHO ARE IN NEED

Practice hospitality”                                                                                                       Romans 12:13

 

BOTH sisters work together

For God=for Jesus

But Mary’s=Is the ONLY
ONE THING that is NEEDED

 

Give your ATTENTION

To the present moment in God

And you can never do wrong

BOTH WAYS=are ways of WORSHIPPING GOD

 

Have NO AGENDA=when it comes to

WORSHIPPING God=and always listen

For the words of the Lord

 

THE ONLY ONE THING NEEDED!

Do you WANT to be a

PART of Jesus' FAMILY?

A part of God's family?

I want to be part

Our BROTHERS & SISTERS

Include people who are forgiving

The widow and the orphan

People who put God and OTHERS

Above themselves

People who SHOW

Mercy and compassion

It is A HUGE FAMILY=

At least it can be=if MORE

Of us

Begin to ALIGN ourselves

With the WILL OF GOD

“I desire

To do your WILL

My God

Your law

“Why Are We So Lucky”

 

Today is a great day

To be alive

The sun is shining

And we feel good

 

But for many of us

In this world

It is going to be their last day

They don’t know it

But we will all die

Both Saints and sinners

 

But it is also a day

When many children are being born

All over the world

 

There is a 1 in 20 chance

That we will be born in America

 

Why are we so lucky

 

Most people are born to

Non Christian families

Muslim, Buddhist, etc.

 

Why are we so lucky

 

In India

You are lucky to live

To be a year old

Or if you are lucky

You might live

And just be sick

Your entire life

 

Why are we so lucky

 

I don’t know the answer

But I do know

Where much is given

Much is expected

 

I do know

God gave us a tremendous opportunity

God gave us a great gift--LIFE

What we do with our life

Is our gift back to God

So MANY of us

Are getting older

And this TOUGH LIFE

Is getting more difficult

I have even LOST

Friends and family members

 

But we ALL

Have a choice to make

HOW are we going to RESPOND

 

And the way

That we should respond is

To=live with HOPE

LIVE WITH=A BRIGHT FAITH!

 

RESPONDIND WITH=A BRIGHT FAITH!

“A bruised reed

A smoldering wick

We should look to

DAILY PRAYERS=And we should

Pray DAILY SCRIPTURES

 

The Scriptures proclaim

The COMFORT

And the tender kindness

Of our Jesus

 

Jesus FACED those same problems

We all face=and he RESPONDED

By living with HOPE

 

The least=we can do

Is RESPOND=

WITH A BRIGHT FAITH!

 

“The path=of the righteous

Is like the morning sun

 

SHINING ever brighter

Till the full light of day”                                                                                              Proverbs 4:18

 

“Out of the BRIGHTNESS

Of his presence=bolts of lightning

MY FRIENDS-

As we get older

And seemingly face

Let us LOOK=into

Each other’s face

And see BRIGHTNESS

RESPOND with faith

EVER SHINING JESUS

 

Let us reach out

And welcome each other

AND SHINE=

BE HUMBLE=AND SHOW GRATITUDE

 

BE HUMBLE AND SHOW GRATITUDE!

OUR God is

The most HUMBLE BEING

In creation

He could have done anything

To show his POWER

In this world

What does he decide 

To do?

But send his SON

To take on-

ALL of our sins

And suffer and die for us

Only to show his SUPREME power

Even over life and death

Even death has NO power

Over God and his creatures

“What do you possess

That you have not received?”                                                      1 Corinthians 4:7

Nothing-our God gives us

The gift of life

And of course-what we do

With our life

Is our GIFT back to him

Today we read about Saint Paul

And his message of

FORGIVENESS and SALVATION

To the GENTILES

THROUGH the death and RESURRECTION

Of our Lord and Savior=Jesus Christ

Paul truly LOVED-

The church and community of Corinth 

But he was deeply disappointed

In their claims of moral superiority

What about us today?---the CHRISTIANS

Of the 21st century-the Catholics-the Protestants-

The Baptists-and all the other denominations-

The people of Christ today-do we FEEL

Morally and spiritually superior too?

Let me caution you=

BE HUMBLE-and show GRATITUDE=not boasting

By being thankful for the GIFT of life

And all the gifts

God and Christ have laid on our plate

The GIFTS OF GOD-remember-

Who gave you what you have

“For the Lord-takes delight

In his people

He crowns the humble- 

With victory”                                                                                              Psalm 149:4

“He mocks proud mockers

But shows FAVOR

To the humble-

And oppressed”                                                                                         Proverbs 3:34

“But he gives us 

More grace

That is why Scripture says:

'God opposes the proud

But shows FAVOR

To the HUMBLE'”                                                                                   James 4:6

I have heard so many people 

Say in life:

“I am a self-made man-

Or woman”-or

“I have worked hard

For what I have got”

I am SURE you have

I am sure-

You are quite ACCOMPLISHED

But who gave you

What you have?

Who gave you the mental capacity

And financial means to be a success

In life?

It was GOD 

BE HUMBLE AND SHOW GRATITUDE

Do not boast

“LET the message of Christ 

Dwell among you richly

As you teach and admonish

ONE ANOTHER

With all wisdom

Through psalms-hymns-and songs

From the spirit 

SINGING to God-

With GRATITUDE in your hearts”                                                         Colossians 3:16

ALWAYS give thanks to God- 

Pray without ceasing-and

BE HUMBLE & SHOW GRATITUDE

Change it to forgiveness

Change the world

Change it for GOD

Change the world

Change it for your neighbor

Change the world

Change it for the CHILDREN

Change the world

Change it for yourself too

 

Just change the GD world

On the bus

Sitting across the aisle

I may say hello

But that is all

I may ever know about you

In the supermarket

Don’t have a clue

Who you are

 

In my life

That’s all I ever

May know about you

Yet I love you so

CHOOSING TO LIVE=WITH MERCY AND COMPASSION

 

CHOOSING TO LIVE=

WITH MERCY AND COMPASSION

 

It is a TOUGH LIFE=

And so many of us

Want to set ourselves up

As JUDGE and jury

For others

 

I sometimes WONDER

If that is not why

Our country=our world

IS IN=the shape

It is in

 

But God doesn’t want that

Jesus does NOT

Want that=and he tells us

That today

 

“I say to you

SOMETHING GREATER

Than the temple=is here”                                                                                                 Matthew 12:6

 

I don’t know

About you=but I find it

EASY to get into

Judging someone else

 

But God wants us to live

WITH MERCY=WITH COMPASSION

 

NOT to set ourselves up

To judge one another

CHOOSING TO LIVE

WITH MERCY AND COMPASSION

 

“Remember Lord

YOUR GREAT MERCY=and love

For they are=From of old”                                                                                                 Psalm 25:6

 

“In his love=AND MERCY

He redeemed them=

He lifted them up

And carried them

All the days of old”                                                                                                                   Isaiah 63:9

 

“But you have neglected

The more important matters

Of the law-------

Justice-MERCY=and faithfulness”                                                                                            Matthew 23:23

 

Sometimes our judgment gene

Gets us into trouble

 

But Jesus REMINDS us today

To temper that

WITH MERCY

 

For we NEVER KNOW

The full story

BEHIND another’s actions or words

 

FEEL COMPASSION

For one another=feel love

Try to put YOURSELF

In another’s shoes

 

“The Lord=is good to all

HE HAS COMPASSION=on all

He has made”                                                                                                                Psalm 145:9

 

“Therefore=as God’s chosen people

Holy and dearly loved

 

Clothe yourselves WITH COMPASSION-kindness-humility-

Gentleness=and patience”                                                                                             Colossians 3:12

 

WHEN we judge

Rather than=SHOW MERCY

AND COMPASSION

 

We lose sight

Of what is greater

IN GOD’S EYES=

Christ EXPECTS US

To live with mercy

 

CHOOSE TO LIVE

WITH MERCY AND COMPASSION!
