Does he come to you

When someone

Takes time to listen

All the time

In what ways you can’t imagine

Don’t you want

To join the club

Has he come to you

Perhaps he has

BECOMING LIKE HIM=WHO WE LOVE

 

 

THANK YOU ALL=for HANGING IN THERE FOR ME=

The reason for it ALL=is to become as much LIKE HIM=AS POSSIBLE!

LOVE YOU ALL!

 

 

 

BECOMING LIKE HIM!=

Who We Love

 

TODAY=we acknowledge that

Jesus is OUR KING=and that he is

Our King of the World=and he

IS OUR SHEPHERD

 

Our Jesus is our SHEPHERD=he

FINDS us when we are lost

He is=NOT just a HIRED HAND=he

Does not run=when TROUBLE COMES

 

He tends=and CARES FOR US

And he=INVITES US=to do that

For one another too

BECOMING LIKE HIM!=who we love

 

“The Lord is=MY SHEPHERD=I

Shall not want”                                                                                                                        Psalm 23:1

 

We find out=that Jesus’ kingship

Has=NOTHING to do with power=

Wealth=or lording things=over someone else

 

Long before Christ=the prophet Ezekiel

Told us=GOD’S KINGDOM=has to do

With his CARING FOR US=all of us

Taking CARE=of each one of us

Through the trials and troubles of life

Especially those of us

Who are most vulnerable

 

That is WHY=we should become

Like him!=who loves us=so we can

TAKE CARE OF OTHERS

 

“For this is what=

The Sovereign Lord says’=

I myself=will search=for MY SHEEP

And look after them”                                                                                                              Ezekiel 34:11

 

“AS A SHEPHERD=looks after

His scattered flock=when he is

With them=so will I=look after my sheep”                                                                          Ezekiel 34:12

 

“I WILL SEARCH=for the lost

And bring back=the strays=I will

 

Bind up the injured=and strengthen

The weak=but the sleek=and the strong

I will destroy

I WILL SHEPHERD=the flock with justice”                                                                           Ezekiel 34:16

 

AND in Matthew=Jesus tells us

That we too=can become GOOD SHEPHERDS

That we can=BECOME LIKE HIM!=by

LOVING like him

 

“When the Son of Man comes=

In his glory=and all the angels

With him=he will sit=on his

Glorious throne

 

ALL THE NATIONS=will be gathered

Before him=and he will SEPARATE the people

One from another=as a SHEPHERD separates

The sheep=from the goats

 

He will=put THE SHEEP=on his right

And the goats=on his left”                                                                                                         Matthew 25:31-33

 

I don’t know about you=but

I want to be=ONE of Christ’s sheep

When he comes=NOT a goat

 

But UNTIL that time comes=I will

Put all of my ENERGY=into

Being a shepherd=to be

BECOMING LIKE HIM!=Who we love

 

Dear Lord=You are our KING

Christ the KING=may you

And YOUR/OUR HOLY FATHER GOD=please

COME=and rule this world

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LIVING=FOREVER LOVING

If we are true Christians

True true Christians

Our mission in life

Is to become other Christ’s

Albeit

Maybe smaller---more miniature versions

And to make his word---God’s word

Come alive in today’s world

 

Picture this

 

You meet your cousin

At the river

He baptizes you

And as you come up

Out of the water

Heaven opens up

And the Spirit of God

In the form of a dove

Descends upon you

 

Lightening flashes on him

And a voice says,

 

“This is my dear Son

With whom I am well pleased”                                                      Mark 3:13-17

 

You—one of John’s disciples

Take this all in

From that moment on

You know that your life

Will never be the same

 

John himself said,

“I must decrease---and he must increase”

From that moment on

John’s disciples followed Jesus

 

So must it be with us

If we are truly to become other Christ’s

In this world

 

We must die to ourselves---our selfish sinful selves

And as Jesus himself said,

“If anyone would come after me

He must deny himself

And take up his cross

And follow me”                                                             Mark 8:31

 

We live in a Godless society

Becoming a little more so each day

 

A poet once wrote:

“He has

No hands but your hands

He has no feet

But your feet

He has no mouth

But your mouth…….”

 

If God’s word

Is to truly come alive again

In today’s world

It is up to us

 

Saint Paul once said,

“I have been crucified with Christ

And I no longer live

But Christ lives in me

 

The life I live in the body

I live by faith in the Son of God

Who loved me

And gave himself for me”                                                       Galatians 2:20

 

Each one of us

Has been handcrafted by God

Our own unique selves

To live a life---and do a job

That no one else can do

Only us

 

And part of that job

Is to make God come alive again

In today’s world

 

Finally---dear Lord

We pray

That you shine in us and through us

 

And we become so much like you

That when the world looks at us

It sees no longer us

USING OUR TREASURES!=For Our God

 

USING OUR TREASURES!=

For our God

 

We all have TREASURES!=or talents

Or gifts=IF you prefer=to use

TO BUILD UP=the Kingdom of God=and

WE are all called=to do just this

 

Using our TIME=our material possessions

And our talents=for our God

DO what you can=we are

CALLED TO SERVE

 

“I tell you=to everyone who has

MORE will be given=but

From the one

 

Who has not=even what he has

Will be TAKEN AWAY”                                                                                                         Luke 19:26

 

God wants us=TO ALIGN

Our very own wills=with HIS WILL

To build up=THE KINGDOM OF GOD

USING OUR TREASURES=for our God

 

Today=we HONOR Saint Cecelia

A virgin=and a martyr=who is

THE PATRON SAINT=of musicians

Who USED her talent=time=and TREASURES

For the=KINGDOM OF GOD

 

But=we don’t have to be=A SAINT

To work for=OUR HOLY FATHER God

And Jesus

 

It just takes a WILLING HEART=and

An open mind=USING OUR TREASURES

FOR GOD’S KINGDOM

 

“Do not=store up for yourselves

TREASURES on earth=where moths and

Vermin destroy=and where thieves break in

And steal”                                                                                                                                     Matthew 6:19

 

“……..in order that=they may know

The mystery of God=namely Christ

 

In whom=who are hidden

ALL THE TREASURES=of wisdom

And knowledge”                                                                                                                       Colossians 2:3

 

“He regarded disgrace=

For the sake of Christ=as

Of greater value=than

THE TREASURES OF EGYPT

 

Because he was=looking ahead

To his reward”                                                                                                                     Hebrews 11:26

 

My dear friends=my dear

Brothers and sisters=EACH

And everyone of us=are called

TO A VOCATION=with God

 

Called to be=in a RELATIONSHIP

With our Holy Father God and Jesus

 

We are called to be

USING OUR TREASURES=for

The glory=and the KINGDOM OF GOD

 

“The heavens declare=THE GLORY

Of God=the skies proclaim

The work of his hands”                                                                                                           Psalm 19:1

 

“And they were=calling

To one another=

‘Holy-holy-holy=is

The Lord Almighty=the whole earth

IS FULL OF=HIS GLORY’”                                                                                                       Isaiah 6:3

 

“……..and I saw

THE GLORY=of the God=Of Israel

Coming form the east”                                                                                                       Ezekiel 43:2

 

It is our duty=OUR CALLING

Our vocation=TO USE OUR TREASURES!

(Time=talent=and money)=to

BUILD UP=the kingdom=for

The Glory of God

 

We OFFER UP OUR TREASURES

In our service=for=the LORD’S KINGDOM

MORAL FAILURE

 

November 21^st

 

 

Moral Failure

 

The question is not

What are we going to do

If we encounter

Moral Failure

 

The question is

What are we going to do with it

Once we realize

We did fail

 

Look at Saint Peter

He denied Christ 3 times

Even after he said

He would never deny Christ

 

Yet

He went on

To actually BE the ROCK

And have the whole foundation

Of the Church

Built upon him

 

Look at Saint Paul

Previously called Saul

Not worthy to be called an Apostle

And a killer of Christians

In the new Church

 

Yet the Lord converted him

And he became

Probably

The most prolific writer

And recruiter

In the Christian movement

 

What about Moses

A murderer

What about David

An adulterer

What about anyone

In the Bible

 

What about you/what about me

When we realize

We failed God

In some way

 

How are we

Going to

Let God use us

In the building up

Of his Kingdom

 

There are

No perfect people in this world

Only Christ

 

So you failed

So what

You can still be

On the team

 

And maybe

Just maybe

A star

On the team

Of our Lord

TAKING A CHANCE=ON GOD

 

TAKING A CHANCE=ON GOD

 

Today we have the story=Of Zaccheus

Who took a CHANCE=ON GOD and Jesus

And Jesus INVITED HIM

Into his life=as he INVITES US!

 

Jesus came to his HOUSE

And visited with him=TAKING A CHANCE

On God=Taking a chance=ON JESUS

And INVITING THEM=into our lives

 

“But Zaccheus=stood there=and said

TO THE LORD…….”                                                                                                                   Luke 19:8

 

He took A CHANCE=

That Jesus would notice him=and Jesus did

How about you?

 

Are you WILLING TO=TALE A CHANCE

ON GOD?=On Jesus=just like Zaccheus

THE CHANCE=of a lifetime

The opportunity=of a lifetime

TAKING A CHANCE=ON GOD!

 

“Therefore=as we=HAVE OPPORTUNITY

Let us do good=to all people

 

Especially those=who belong to

The family of BELIEVERS”                                                                                                  Galatians 6:10

 

“Be very careful then=

How you live-------Not unwise=but as wise

Making the most=OF EVERY OPPORTUNITY

Because the days are evil”                                                                                            Ephesians 5:16

 

Zaccheus=was a sinner

Just like me and you=and

He was a VERY SHORT MAN

 

So when Jesus=Came to his town

He CLIMBED the biggest tree

So he could see him=so he could

TAKE A CHANCE ON GOD!

 

So when Jesus spotted Zaccheus=he said

“‘Zaccheus=come down IMMEDIATELY=I

Must stay at your house today’

And the people all said=

‘He has gone=TO BE

The guest=of a sinner’”                                                                                                    Luke 19:6-7

 

And our tax collector Zaccheus=

RECOGNIZES he has

ANOTHER CHANCE=to find GOD

And turn a NEW LEAF=he says

To the Lord Jesus=

“’Look Lord=here and now=I give                

Half of my possessions=to the poor

 

And if I=have cheated anybody=out=of anything

I will pay back four times=the amount”                                                                         Luke 19:8

 

Zaccheus=shows=EXTRAORDINARY COURAGE

He realizes=he has=another chance            

To find God

And SAVE=his lost life

 

And so do we=Our Lord Jesus

Our Holy Father God =will REPOND to us too

IF=we reach out like Zaccheus

Or any other sinner

Wishing to=TAKE ONE LAST CHANCE=on finding God

TAKING A CHANCE=ON GOD!

 

Jesus will respond to us=just like Zaccheus

“Jesus said to him’=’TODAY SALVATION

Has come to this house=because this man too

Is a son=OF ABRAHAM

 

For the Son of Man=came to seek

OPEN yourself up=to GOD’S GRACE

You will be glad you did=that you took

THE TIME=like Zaccheus to

TAKE A CHANCE=ON GOD!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our FOREVER LIVING=forever loving HOLY FATHER GOD=

Who LOVE=each and every one of us!

Troubles come

Sometimes trouble remains

But it really doesn’t matter

Because my hope

Is in you

 

We run out of money

We run out of time

Illness strikes

Or the unexplained happens

What is the difference

You still remain

 

So when trouble strikes

And you want to run

Always remember

Today is my friend, Joe Butler’s birthday.  Thank you for being there for me

When I needed you.

 

PRAYING TO JESUS!=FOR A MIRACLE

 

PRAYING TO JESUS!=for

A MIRACLE!

 

Have you EVER PRAYED=to

Jesus for a MIRACLE?=I have

And he answered me=with

This CONTINUOUS MIRACLE

Of LIFE

 

How about you=Have you ever PRAYED

To Jesus=or the Holy Father God

For anything?

 

Today in this reading=OF LUKE

We have=the MIRACLE

Of the HEALING=of a blind man

 

”He shouted’=’Jesus=Son of David

Have pity on me’”                                                                                                                 Luke 18:38

 

This blind man=does NOT KNOW

What all the COMMOTION=is about

So he asks=THOSE WHO CAN SEE

 

WHEN=he learns=it is Jesus

THE MIRACLE WORKER=the Son of God

He CREATES=a big scene

 

The crowd=tells him=to be quiet

But THIS BLIND MAN=is

Having none of it=HE PLEADS

To the Lord=he calls out=SO LOUD

That even Jesus=hears him

 

“Jesus stopped=and ordered the man

To be brought to him=WHEN he came near=

Jesus said=’WHAT do you want me

To do for you’”                                                                                                             Luke 18:39-40

 

How about you=have you EVER

Prayed to the Lord=FOR A MIRACLE=

Has he answered=have you TOLD

The world about it?

 

I TELL=the world seemingly every day

How the Lord=RESCUED ME=from death’s door

And how he SUSTAINS ME

With this MIRACLE OF LIFE

 

PRAYING TO JESUS!=for a MIRACLE

Like the blind man?=like me?

HAS the Lord=ANSWERED YOU?

 

“So we fasted=and petitioned

Our God about this=and he

ANSWERED OUR PRAYER”                                                                                                        Ezra 8:23

 

“HEAR MY PRAYER=Lord

Listen to my cry=for mercy”                                                                                          Psalm 86:6

 

“…….these I will bring

To my holy mountain=and give them joy

In=My HOUSE OF PRAYER”                                                                                                  Isaiah 56:7

 

How is your FAITH?=how is my faith?

IS OUR FAITH=like the great faith

Of this BLIND MAN?=it takes faith

For a MIRACLE to happen

 

So we have=to ASK

Ourselves some questions=How EAGER

Are we to see Jesus?=How much do we

APPRECIATE the MIRACLE=of our very own faith?

It can CREATE=miracles for us=with Jesus

In charge=it can set us FREE

 

“Therefore I tell you=whatever

YOU ASK FOR=IN PRAYER

 

Believe that you have received it=and

It will be yours”                                                                                                                         Mark 10:24

 

“AND THE PRAYER=offered in faith

Will make the sick person=well

The Lord=will raise them up”                                                                                               James 5:15

 

That is=WHAT HAPPENED

To the blind man=he pleaded

IN PRAYER=and that is what=happened to me

All those years ago

 

How about you=WHAT MIRACLES

Have you RECEIVED=in your life

Do you have=a story to tell?

PRAYING TO JESUS!=FOR A MIRACLE

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ever loving=MIRACLE WORKING
