TO SEE GOD’S PURPOSE

 

 

CAN  you see=

THE PURPOSE of God

In all the events=Of your life?

 

You should be able to=

For I ASSURE YOU=nothing random

HAPPENS in your life

 

IF you are a GOD FOLLOWER=

If you are

A CHRIST FOLLOWER=all things

ARE CONNECTED=and have a PURPOSE

 

“And we know

That in all things=God works

 

For the good of those

Who love him

 

Who have been called

ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE”                                                                                             Romans 8:28

 

Dear Lord=we PRAY

That we offer=our illnesses

Our sufferings=in this life

For the good =of ALL OTHERS

 

STRENGTHEN OUR RESOLVE

To do God’s will=and help us

TO BE AN EXAMPLE

For the others=In today’s world

 

“I have set you

AN EXAMPLE=that you should do

As I have done=for you”                                                                                                    John 13:15

 

“FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE=as I

Follow the example=OF CHRIST”                                                                                            1 Corinthians 11:1

 

“Don’t let anyone=

Look down on you=

Because you are young

 

BUT SET AN EXAMPLE

For the believers=in speech=in conduct

In love=in faith=and in purity”                                                                                        1 Corinthians 4:12

 

That is YOUR PURPOSE=in God

That is my purpose

TO SET AN EXAMPLE

For ALL BELIEVERS=IN GOD

For all believers=in

Our Lord and Savior=Jesus Christ

 

TO SEE GOD’S PURPOSE

In our lives

 

Dear Lord=we pray

For the UNDERSTANDING

To FOLLOW our crosses in life

 

And for the HUMILITY

To accept=the HELP

Of God=and others=to help us

ALONG THE WAY

 

“Many are the plans

In a person’s heart

 

But it is=THE LORD’S PURPOSE

That prevails”                                                                                                                 Proverbs 19:21

 

“My word=will

But will accomplish

What I desire=

TO ACHIEVE THE PURPOSE

The truth is

We should BE LIVING

With God in our HEARTS

With Christ in our hearts=EVERY DAY

OF OUR LIVES

Living with love for EVERYONE

ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS!

 

Do you REMEMBER Y2K?

Everyone thought=DISASTER

Was coming at midnight

 

But January 1^st, 2000

Came and went=without anything happening

ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS!

 

“You will be=

Hated by everyone=because of me

 

But the one

Who stands firm

TO THE END=will be saved”                                                                                                      Matthew 10:22

 

“When you=

Hear of wars and uprisings

Do not be frightened

 

These things= must happen first

BUT THE END=

Will not come right away”                                                                                                    Luke 21:9

 

“THEN THE END=will come

When he hands over the Kingdom-

To God the Father

 

After he=has destroyed

Saint Paul=tells us today

NOT to be shaken

Or to be stirred

 

That there have=always been people

PREDICTING=the end of times

ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS!

 

Keep the faith=Keep

THE WORD OF GOD=at all times

No matter=what is

GOING on in this world

 

Saint Paul tells us today=

NOT TO BE SHAKEN for

“The day of the Lord=IS AT HAND”                                                                              2 Thessalonians 2:2

 

And saint Matthew says=

“But about that day

Or hour=NO ONE KNOWS

 

Not even the angels=in heaven

Nor the Son=

BUT ONLY THE FATHER”                                                                                            Matthew 24:36

 

We are called

NOT TO GUESS=at the end

But to serve God=IN FAITHFULNESS

Until the end of time

ONLY THE FATHER KNOWS!

SALT AND LIGHT

 

 

Jesus told us

You are the salt

Of the earth

You are the light

Of the world

 

But what does

It mean

To be salt and light

In today’s world

 

2000 years ago

Salt was the principal seasoning

That was used to cook

 

2000 years ago

There was no electricity

So light was a scarcity

And at a premium

 

So how

Can we

How will we be

Light in today’s world

It can be as simple

As a smile

Or an encouraging word

To someone

Who is having a bad day

 

Or it can be

To have a listening ear

For someone

Who needs to be heard

 

It can be as simple

As sending someone

A birthday card or get well card

Or it could be

Visiting a sick neighbor

In the hospital

 

Maybe we can’t

Change the whole world

As Jesus did

Just maybe

We can change someone’s world

 

Love, forgive, and be kind

I dear say

My friend

That if you do these things

You will be

Faith is NOT just

The things we believe=

It is

Much more than that

 

We need to have

A DIVINE FAITH=for

Our heavenly Father God and Jesus=

 

They ALONE=have the POWER

To restore=our hurting world

A DIVINE FAITH

In God and Jesus

To HEAL OUR HURTING WORLD

 

“Unless your FAITH=is firm

You shall not be firm”                                                                                                       Isaiah 7:9

 

Faith is NOT about

Ideal=values=or beliefs

FAITH IS

About our RELATIONSHIP with God

Faith is about LOVE

 

For the Israelites=it was

About the relationship

About the God of Abraham

It was=THE GREAT REVEALING

Of himself=to Moses=as “I AM”

 

And so today=we read about

The JEWISH PEOPLE=about their response

To GOD’’S INVITATION

To BE his holy people

In other words=FAITH

 

“HAVE FAITH

In the Lord your God

And you=will be upheld

 

HAVE FAITH=in his prophets

And you will be successful”                                                                               2 Chronicles 20:20

 

“He listened to Paul

As he was speaking

 

Paul looked directly=at him

Saw that he had FAITH=to be healed

And called out…….”                                                                                                 Acts 14:9

 

“For we=LIVE BY FAITH

Not by sight”                                                                                                         2 Corinthians 5:7

 

For us Christians=Faith is about

Our relationship with Christ

In the spirit=Of pointing us

Towards the Father

 

It is FAITH IN GOD

For a HEALING in us

For us to TRY and survive

In this lost and hurting world

 

WITHOUT THIS RELATIONSHIP

We are=lost and wandering

Having a DIVINE FAITH-in God our Father

Allows for a HEALING in us

To try and help BRING ABOUT

A healing=for the ENTIRE WORLD

 

“I will not bring on you

Any of the diseases

I brought on the Egyptians

 

For I am the God

WHO HEALS YOU”                                                                                                         Exodus 15:26

 

We need to be=

FIRM IN OUR FAITH

Not only for the world

 

But for ourselves

To have=A DIVINE FAITH

Of the soul=to help HEAL this hurting world

We all have FEARS 

In this world

These are all KINDS of things

But WITH GOD'S HELP=we can

All of our fears

In the STORMS OF LIFE

“Fools give full vent

To their rage

But the wise

Bring CALM

“Then my wrath against you

WITH GOD'S HELP

We can REMAIN CALM

In the midst

Of our fears

Without God

Our FEARS seem to have

An uncanny power

To master us

They can INFLUENCE

Our decisions and STOP US

In our tracks

There are no GUARANTEES

For safe passage through

Our fears

During this life

But the Lord is

CONSTANTLY PRESENT with us

In the midst

Of our fears

He is 

The ONE and only SOURCE

Of calmness-of steadiness

In the course of our life

WITH God's help

With God LEADING

We can make it

Through our fears

We can MAKE II through

Whatever life throws at us

“He makes me

Lie down in green pastures

He leads me

How many times

Does it take you

To RESPOND to GOD'S WORD

When he tells you

To do something

That you don't want to do?

IF you are like me

It takes a lot-

For me to respond

ONLY the Lord knows

For sure-for it is

That many

TODAY we read

About the story O f Jonah

“The word of the LORD

Came to Jonah

A second time........”                                                           Jonah 3:1

The first time

The Word of the Lord

Came to Jonah

He took off

As FAST as he could

And caught a ship to TARNISH

HOPING to out run 

The whole thing

And after a violent storm

He ended up 

In the belly

Of a whale

RELUCTANCE-

How many times?

You can't out run God

I should know that

Jonah-a prophet-should now that

And you should know that too

For us BELIEVERS

God ALWAYS gets his way

And that is BEST-

For he KNOWS

What he is doing

I certainly don't

“He will RESPOND

To the prayer

Of the destitute

He will not despise

“'In that day-I will respond

Declares the Lord-

RELUCTANCE-

We may as well RESPOND QUICKLY

But I sense Jonah

Would still be reluctant today

I know I am

As children

But the JOURNEY

ONE thing is for sure:

OUR GOD walks with us

EVERY STEP of the way

In love and support for us-and-

ENCOURAGING us to keep on going

As much as we can

“The Lord LIFTS up

Isn't it WONDERFUL to have

A loving and supportive God

The God who helps us up

EVERY STEP of the way

The loving and supportive God

Our God 

Is the safety net

Who helps us when we fall

Our God is the ROCK

That we cling to-when we fall

Our God is our mother and father

Who HELPS his children get up

When they fall down

God is the never-ending SUPPORT 

Who never gives up on us

He WALKS with us

EVERY STEP of the way

“They confronted me

In the day of my disaster

But the Lord

'My foot is slipping'

Your UNFAILING LOVE-Lord-

Kinds of ways-

SOCIALLY-when we gossip about another-

Spiritually-when we don't make time for God

In prayer

Yes God walks with us in support-

ENCOURAGING US to get back up

To get RIGHT AGAIN after our fall

“BLESSED are they-who have learned-

To ACCLAIM you

Who walk in the light

Of your presence-Lord”                                                                   Psalm 89:15

“WHEN Jesus spoke again-

To the people-he said-

'I AM 

The LIGHT of the world

Whoever follows me

Will NEVER walk  in darkness

But will have

So our GOD walks with us

Of God’s churches in Judea

 

Which are in

Christ Jesus=You suffered from

Your own people

 

The same things=those churches

Suffered from the Jews…….”                                                                                                    1 Thessalonians 2:14

 

IF INTERESTED=

Every human being=can read

THE GOSPEL of Jesus

 

For Jesus lived=died=and ROSE

To free us=we are TO SHARE

IN this gift from God=

This liberation

 

Paul tells us

(BE IMITATORS OF GOD”)                                                                                                         Ephesians 5;1

 

Called to be

IMITATORS=OF OUR GOD!

 

Today we must ASK OURSELVES

WHO is Jesus asking us to INVITE

Into the Kingdom of God?=and Jesus?

 

Called to love God=and

To LOVE ALL OTHERS

Called to be=

IMITATORS OF OUR GOD=and Jesus Christ

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our Holy Father LOVING GOD!

CALLED TO BE=IMITATORS OF OUR GOD

DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD LOVES YOU?

 

DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD LOVES YOU?

WHOEVER you are=wherever you are=I

Want to ask you=

Do you KNOW that God

LOVES YOU and do you KNOW

That God WANTS the very BEST

For you?

“WE have come to know

And to BELIEVE

In the LOVE

That GOD HAS for us”                                                                                                1 John 4:16

Jesus' apostles and disciples

Of yesteryear knew it

And KNEW it so much

That they could PERFORM MIRACLES=

Because of their FAITH

In the Lord!

I WONDER if we=his apostles

And disciples of today know it=

I wonder if we LOVE=

With that SAME FAITH

God LOVES us so much=that in fact=

NOTHING in this world

Can separate you from GOD'S LOVE

And EVERYTHING in this world

WORKS for the purposes

Of God's love for you

“And we know

That in ALL things

God WORKS for the good

Of those who love him-

Who have been CALLED

According to his purpose”                                                                                        Romans 8:28

“For I am CONVINCED

That neither death nor life

NEITH angels or demons

Neither the present

Nor the future

Nor ANY POWERS

Neither height nor depth

Nor anything else

In all creation

Will be able to SEPARATE us

From the LOVE OF GOD

That is in

Christ Jesus our Lord”                                                                                               Romans 8:38-39

Do you BELIEVE these two

SCRIPTURAL readings?  If you do=and

LIVE this way=you are a POWERFULFORCE

Do you KNOW & BELIEVE in

The POWER of God's love for you?

I DO=and he is the REASON

I am STILL standing today

I BELIEVE in God and Jesus

So much that I tell EVERYONE

“GOD LOVES YOU and so do I”

I really BELIEVE that=and I HOPE

That my life

REFLECTS that truth

“If you believe

You will RECEIVE

Whatever you ASK for

In PRAYER”                                                                                                              Matthew 2:22

“The TIME has come,” Jesus said

“The kingdom of God

Has come NEAR

Repent and BELIEVE

The GOOD NEWS”                                                                                                   Mark 1:15

BELIEVE the good news

That GOD LOVES YOU

And believe=that so do I

WHEN you know that God is

In your corner=it gives you

A CONFIDENCE that is REAL

Do you KNOW that

God LOVES YOU?

He does=live it=BELIEVING IT

Has made ALL the difference

In my life=and I believe 

IT WILL in yours

In the names of Jesus and GOD our LOVING FATHER

Your life=on

The TEACHINGS of Jesus?

 

Have you built your life

ON GOD’S LOVE?

If so=FINISH STRONG

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!

Have faith

 

“I am already-

Being poured out-

Like a libation

 

And the time=of my departure

IS AT HAND

 

I have competed well=

I have=finished the race

I have

KEPT THE FAITH!”                                                                                                             2 Timothy 4:6-7

 

How about you=

Are you=

FINISHING STRONG=In the Lord?

Do you have

ENOUGH FAITH=to see you

Through to the end?

BUILT TO LAST!

 

Pauls’ second letter

To Timothy=reads like

Saint Paul’s LAT WILL and testament=

The DEATH of Paul

Is imminent

 

Pauls’ time is SHORT=

And he knows it=

But it is not death=

It is a DEPARTURE

 

His WORDS about Christ

Will last AN ETERNITY

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!

 

“My food’=said Jesus

‘Is to do the WILL=of him

Who sent me

And to FINISH=HIS WORK’”                                                                                                      John 4:34

 

“However I consider

My life worth nothing

To me

 

My only aim

Is to FINISH THE RACE=

And complete  the task

The Lord has given me--------

 

The task of

Testifying to the good news

Of God’s grace”                                                                                                                         Acts 20:24

 

I love sports=DON’T YOU?

And Paul uses eloquent words

To COMPARE=THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

To an athletic event

 

He=Paul

Is FILLED with perseverance

To finish the race

THE MARATHON=of his Christian TESTIMONY

 

NOTHING is wasted by Paul=

All is on the line

For him=to FINISH THE RACE

 

“LET PERSEVERANCE=FINISH its work

So that you may be

Mature and complete=NOT lacking anything”                                                                              James 1:4

 

Dear Lord=we PRAY

That we all know

We will FACE DEATH=one day

 

Please help us

TO FINISH STRONG=IN THE LORD!

Like the great Saint Paul=and Jesus himself

 

And die in faith=let our faith

Pull us=THROUGH THE FINISH LINE

FINISHING STRONG=IN THE LORD!

 

In Jesus’ name=and in the name=of our ALWAYS FAITHFUL=Holy Father God!

A FISH AND LOVE STORY

 

A FISH AND LOVE STORY

It started with fish

And it ended with LOVE

Jesus' story with his BEST friends

And his apostles

Hence a fish and a LOVE STORY

“When they had done this

They caught

A great number of fish

And........FILLED both boats

So that they were in danger of sinking

….....

When they brought their boats

To the shore

They left everything

And followed him”                                                         Luke 5:6-7-11

What a great way

To call your first disciples

To FIND your friends

Simon Peter overwhelmed

Falls to his knees and says,

'Get away from me Lord;

I am a sinful man'”                                                                  Luke 5:8

Jesus-in turn-says-

“Don't be afraid

From now on

You will be FISHERS OF MEN”                                                  Luke 5:10

And what about us

In today's world

Are we not

A little bit overwhelmed

Do we not think and feel

The same way as Peter

(“Get away from me Lord;

I am a sinful man; or 

I am a sinful woman”)

But we need not worry-

Jesus calls us HIS FRIENDS

And we have a story

That ends just the way

It ended with the apostles

IN LOVE

IN JESUS' love for us-

Is us trying to bring people

To OUR LORD'S KINGDOM

“You are my FRIENDS

If you do what I command

I no longer

Call you servants

Because a servant

Does not know his master's business

INSTEAD I have called you FRIENDS

For everything that I have learned

From my Father

I have made known to you”                                                          John 15:14-15

And which of us

Hasn't sat down

With a brother and sister in Christ

Over a fish sandwich 

Or a fish dinner

And discussed how much God

How much our Lord Jesus Christ

LOVES US-and what he went through

To save us

Peter only denied Jesus three times-

And Jesus later AFFIRMED HIM

How many times have you and I

Denied Christ in this world-

If you are like me

It is probably too numerous to count

Jesus appears to his disciples again

After the RESURRECTION

And again they catch MANY FISH

Probably too numerous to count

But scripture says 153 “kinds”

Perhaps the number of kinds of people

In the world-at that time

Dear Lord-WE PRAY

Perhaps the SHARING of the fish

Was the beginning of sharing

Of the GOOD NEWS of THE LORD

HELP US

To continue to feed the people

The good news of your life

In today's world

For the job is ONLY 1/2 done

“ALL AUTHORITY in heaven

And on earth

Have been given to me

Therefore-go and make disciples

Of ALL NATIONS

BAPTIZING them in the name

Of the Father-and the Son

And the Holy Spirit

And teaching them to obey

EVERYTHING I commanded you

And SURELY I AM with you ALWAYS

To the very end of the age”                                                                   Matthew 28:18-20

Dear Lord-

HELP US to continue to share the fish

And to SHARE THE LOVE
