IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

Today=we read about=THE GOSPEL

And the CHURCH=being spread=Through

Saint Paul=and in the homes=of people

Like Priscilla=Aquila=Andronicus=and

ALL the others

 

That is THE WAY=it was=in the EARLY CHURCH

It was SPREAD=in the HOME=and that is the

WAY it was=in my day too

IT BEGINS AT HOME!=through your parents

Your siblings=your cousins and=YOUR

Neighbors and friends

IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

“Greet also THE CHURCH=

AT THEIR HOUSE”                                                                                                               Romans 16:5

 

MY mom and dad=talked about God=they

TALKED ABOUT JESUS=and we had

The CATHOLIC CHURCH AND SCHOOL=right

Around the corner=from our house

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER!

 

I was the CONFIRMATION SPONSOR=for

My three cousins=THE MILLER BOYS

Rest in peace Cousin Jim=and we had

THE CHURCH=in common=with

My relatives and friends too

The gospel=the Church

IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

I think=that is WHY

We have LOST our way

IN OUR COUNTRY=in our world

So many of us=have TURNED our backs

On GOD=the gospel=and the church

IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

“IN THE BEGINNING=you laid

The foundations of the earth=and

The heavens are=the work=of your hands”                                                                             Psalm 102:25

 

“The fear=of the Lord

Is=THE BEGINNING=of KNOWLEDGE

But fools despise wisdom=and instruction”                                                                     Proverbs 1:7

 

“IN THE BEGINNING=was the Word=and

The Word=was with God”                                                                                                          John 1:1

 

Isn’t it fitting=that

THE WORD=and the world BEGAN

With the Word of God

 

And isn’t it fitting

That the WORD CONTINUES=in our homes

Too=to this day=with the FAMILY

It=the gospel=the church

IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

We KNOW=that the

Early CHRISTIANS=met

In each other’s homes=and SHARED

Christian living=and the WORD

IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

IN the home=with our nurturing Father

Gospel living=and the WORD OF GOD!

 

“YOUR WORD=is a lamp

For my feet=a light=on my path”                                                                                                       Psalm 119:105

 

“The WORD=became flesh=and made

His dwelling among us”                                                                                                                  John 1:14

 

HOW FITTING=The Word=the NEW WORD

Began in the HOME=with Jesus=Mary

And Joseph

 

HOW FITTING=there has been

That CONTINUATION=down

Through the years=IN YOUR HOME

And mine=IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

CHRIST =is present with us

IN all of our HOMES=and when

YOUR friends and family members leave

They go in love=to spread

THE WORD OF GOD!=IT BEGINS AT HOME!

 

In Jesus name=and in the name of our HOLY FATHER GOD=and

HIS HOLY FAMILY!
