FINDING GRACE AND LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS Let's face it-we LIVE in A dark world EVEN with ADVENT approaching Even with the LIGHT of Jesus Right around the corner The darkness is still there The violence-the deceit-the fraud- ALL the evil in this world And NONE of us are perfect- So we need to FORGIVE ourselves- When evil-when bad things- Are NOT our intention Jesus is our SAVIOR-he is The PERFECTION-that we are Trying to achieve “You need not be ashamed Of all your deeds........” Zephaniah 3:11 OUR lives are messy-sometimes- We GIVE IN to temptation- Way more than we ought to But we LOOK for peace We strive for peace We FIND that peace In the COMING Of an infant child “TURN from evil-and do good SEEK PEACE and pursue it” Psalm 34:14 “A HEART at peace Gives life to the body” Proverbs 14:30 “........ To SHINE on those Living in darkness And in the shadow of death To guide our feet Into the PATH OF PEACE” Luke 1:79 Dear Lord-HELP us find grace Help us find light In the darkness Find it in the COMING Of the little infant Jesus boy “YOU are the MOST excellent Of men And your lips Have been anointed With grace Since God Has BLESSED you FOREVER” Psalm 45:2 “Simeon took him in his arms And PRAISED God-saying: …..... A light for REVELATION To the Gentiles And the GLORY Of your people Israel” Luke 2:28, 32 We LIVE in a cruel-dark- Violent world HELP us to find light In the darkness Help us To find Jesus=to find HOPE-and Life and love This advent season Jesus is the GRACE Jesus is the LIGHT In the darkness We may not Want to admit it Even to ourselves But we are DEPENDENT=on God- And God's MERCY In this dark world We ARE to be-and can be TRANSFORMED by the light of Christ Particularly-in this Christmas season We can find OUR TRUE WORTH In God and Jesus Dear Lord=Dear Jesus You are MY LIGHT in the darkness And my REASON for living With GRACE and light In this dark world Robert P.
