WITNESS

THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT
The greatest compliment
That we can give another human being
Is to tell them
That they are
An imitator of Christ
Albeit on a smaller scale
So how can we be
How will we be
An imitation of Christ
In today’s world
Be perfect in love
For every other human being
Be an imitator of Christ
Be perfect in forgiveness
For every other human being
Be an imitator of Christ
Be like Saint Francis of Assisi
Clothe the naked
Feed the poor
House the homeless
Be an imitator
Of Christ
Be an imitator
Of Saint Francis
Be perfect in love
For the lost and forlorn
Be perfect in kindness
For every other human being
Be an imitator of Christ
And though
We may not be perfection
As long as
We try
To do what we can do
Maybe someday---someway
Someone will say,
“I see Christ in you
You are an imitation of Christ”

COME FOLLOW ME---THE STORY OF SAINT ANDREW
One day
Jesus was walking
Beside the sea of Galilee
He saw two brothers fishing
Andrew, and his brother Simon ( now known as Peter )
Jesus said,
“Come follow me
And I will make you
Fishers of men” Matthew 4:18-20
Immediately they left their nets
And followed him
He was
A disciple of John the Baptist
Before becoming a follower of Christ
And we know
That Andrew was instrumental
In Jesus’ miracle
Of feeding the 5,000----the miracle of the loaves and the fishes
Andrew said,
“Here is a boy
With 5 small barley loaves
And 2 small fish
But how far will they go
Among so many” John 6:8&9
Pretty far
When the one
You are giving them too
Is a miracle worker
Pretty far
If you have
Just a little bit of faith
Come to me
It is believed
He preached the Gospel
In what is now known as
Modern day Greece and Turkey
And was crucified at Patras
Legend has it
That Andrew also stopped at a place
Called Fife---now called Saint Andrews
And built a Church there
Little more than this
Is known about the life of Saint Andrew
But it is enough to know
That Christ had the confidence in him
To call him personally to be an Apostle
It is enough to know
That he was called personally
To preach the good news
It is enough to know
That he accepted the GREAT COMMISSION
And spread the Word of God
ALL over the world
So Dear Lord we pray
That when we feel
The nudging of God in our heart
That when we feel the nudging of Christ
In our souls and spirit
That we have the FAITH of Saint Andrew

I was baptized into the Catholic Church February 6th, 1955, at Saint Andrew’s
In Pittsburgh, Pa. Also my Father and Mother’s first wedding anniversary.

ATTITUDE=KEEP IT POSITIVE
ATTITUDE=KEEPING IT POSITIVE
I think
MAYBE the most important thing
In life-IS
Keeping our attitude POSITIVE
After all
Good and bad
HAPPEN to all
WHY does one person
TRHIVE
In the face
Of difficulty
While
The same set of circumstances
Sink another
I dare to day
My friends-
IT IS ATTITUDE
KEEP IT POSITIVE
“You were taught
With regard to your former way
Of life
To put off
Your old self
Which is being corrupted
By its deceitful desires
To be made new
In the ATTITUDE
Of your MINDS
And to put on
Your NEW SELF
CREATED to be like God
In true righteousness
And holiness” Ephesians 4:22-24
That's right
You are CREATED NEW
To be MORE like God
And two things
I can tell you
About God-ARE:
GOD ALWAYS loves you
No matter what situation
You find yourself in
And God always
WANTS good things for you
Good things
To HAPPEN in your life
SO KEEP IT POSITIVE
God is nothing
If he is not positive
If he is not perfect
In every way
PARTICULARLY IN ATTITUDE
“TASTE and see
That the Lord
IS GOOD
BLESSED is the one
Who takes refuge in him” Psalm 34 :8
“A GOOD MAN
Brings good things
Out of the good
STORED UP
In his heart
….....
For the mouth speaks
What the HEART
IS FULL OF” Luke 6:45
So keep THE ATTITUDE POSITIVE
And do it
By thinking GOOD THOUGHTS
And by surrounding yourself
WITH GOOD PEOPLE
People that will ENCOURAGE YOU
And try to
LIFT you up-NOT
Tear you down
YOUR THOUGHTS
Are like your friends
And they both
NEED to be positive
For you-and your life
TO STAY POSITIVE
THOUGHTS are
The biggest influence
In your life
So don't hang out with
Negativity-with discouragement-and dissatisfaction
IF you are hanging out
With them-you are hanging out
WITH THE WRONG CROWD
So keep the attitude positive
And keep on hanging out
WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE
And hang out with GOD
Who FOREVER LOVES YOU
And you will
FIND God along way
To having
A positive life

IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
As 21st century=MODERN DAY APOSTLES=
Our job=is to RESPOND with LOVE
IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE
In other words=in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE-
To bring something BETTER
To the table=
That makes people feel better
That makes them THINK=
IF not say
"I never thought of that"
In every circumstance=let us
BRING LOVE!
"I-John saw.....seven angels.....
For through them GOD'S FURY
Is accomplished.....
WHO will not fear you-LORD?=
Or GLORIFY your name" Revelation 15, 1,4
I believe=GOD IS GOOD=
Compassionate=and full of LOVE
That is what I see
In my ROLE MODEL JESUS
LOVE=in every CIRCUMSTANCE
Of his life
That is WHY
I don't quite fully understand
The OLD TESTAMENT GOD
The angry and vengeful God
CAN a God of love=also
Punish and destroy=I don't know
I guess he can
But I do KNOW=as modern day CHRISTIANS
Our job is
To BRING LOVE into the world
To make the world A BETTER PLACE
In every circumstance
Bring love=LIVE WITH LOVE
"I am NOT saying this
Because I am
In need
For I have LEARNED
To be content
Whatever the CIRCUMSTANCES" Philippians 4:11
I have learned to TRY
To always RESPOND IN LOVE
"Rejoice always-PRAY continually
Give thanks in all CIRCUMSTANCES
For this is GOD'S WILL
For you in Christ Jesus" 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I can see
MUCH that would enrage God
In this world
WE make war on
One another=we pillage
And pollute the world
We MANIPULATE the young
CHILDREN of God
But God sends us Jesus
The SACRIFICIAL LAMB
To take on our sins
God RESPONDS with LOVE
Jesus responds with love
And God will respond with love
For us=EVEN TODAY
"He will RESPOND
To the prayer
Of the destitute
He will not despise
Their plea" Psalm 102:17
"'In that day=

Declares the Lord" Hosea 2:21
Our JOB=as CHRISTIANS is to
Respond to darkness and evil=
With love=IN EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE

STRENGTHEN YOUR TRUST=IN THE LORD
STRENGTHEN YOUR TRUST
(IN THE LORD)
Jesus DESCRIBED the END
Of the world=
As we KNOW IT
Sometimes I WONDER
If we are not
AWFULLY CLOSE
STRENGTHEN your TRUST
In the LORD=and do NOT
BE TERRIFIED
"While some people
Were speaking about.....
The temple.....
Jesus said='the days
Will come=when there will not be
A stone upon another stone
That will
Not be thrown DOWN.....
When you hear of wars
And insurrections=DO NOT BE TERRIFIED
For such things
Must happen first
But it will not
IMMEDIATELY be the end.....
There will BE
Powerful earthquakes-famines-and plagues.....'" Luke 21:5-6, 9, 11
Jesus told us=that even
He did NOT KNOW when
The end will come
That ONLY the FATHER knows
"BUT about that day
No one knows
NOT even the angels
In heaven
Nor the Son
BUT ONLY THE FATHER" Matthew 24:36
ALL these centuries later
Our world is experiencing
Violent conflicts-epidemics-earthquakes
And RISING TEMPERATURES
But Jesus told us
NOT to be terrified
SO STRENGTHEN YOUR TRUST
In our God and LORD
"So do NOT FEAR
For I am with you
For I AM your God
I will STRENGTHEN YOU
And help you
With my righteous hand" Isaiah 41:10
We need to STRENGTHEN
Our faith in the Lord
We NEED TO STRENGTHEN
OUR TRUST in the Lord
And work to deal
With these crises
The VERY BEST that we can
"May he STRENGTHEN your hearts
So that you
Will be BLAMELESS
And holy
In the presence
Of our GOD and FATHER
When our Lord Jesus COMES

LIFT UP OUR HEARTS
In almost every sporting event=
WHEN a person
Does the OUTSTANDING
He POINTS to the sky
Or she does
IS IT ANY WONDER?
People have always felt=GOD
Was in the SKY==
Was at the top
OF THE MOUNTAIN
LIFT UP our hearts
To the LORD OUR GOD
"Who can ascend
The MOUNTAIN
Of the Lord?" Psalm 24:3
On TOPS of many mountains
Are churches=temples=
Or a monastery
And most ASSUREDLY
OUR HEARTS
We LIFT UP our hearts
To the Lord=and we
RESIDE with the Lord
In the sky=and
ON the mountain
"The way of an EAGLE
In the SKY
The way of a snake
On a rock
The way of a ship
On the high seas
And the WAY of a man
With a young woman" Proverbs 30:19
"I will make
The DESCENDANTS of David
My servant
And the LEVITES
Who minister before me
As COUNTLESS as
The stars IN THE SKY

We lift up OUR HEARTS

MESSENGER AND WATCHERS OF GOD
MESSENGERS AND WITNESSES
Did you know that
We have MESSENGERS and WITNESSES
Of God?
I mean=in ADDITION to us
They are called ANGELS=and
They are also
Watchers and warriors of GOD too
"In this way
ANYONE wanting to harm them
Is sure to be slain
They have the power=
To CLOSE UP the sky........." Revelation 11:5-6
The book of Revelation
Is POPULATED
By a cast of ANGELS
And they are DOING
The work=in heaven
And on earth
These angels are strange
These ANGELS are terrifiying
They stand as tall
As the trees
They are BRIGHT
As lamps
They breathe fire and
They can bring destruction
IF destruction is needed
These angels are
The MESSENGERS & WITNESSES of God
And they keep watch
OVER us all
"Like a snow=cooled drink
At harvest time
Is a TRUSTWORTHY MESSENGER
To the ONE
Who sends him
He REFRESHES the spirit
Of his masters" Proverbs 25:13
These angels are
The EYES AND EARS of God
Just like us
"This is the ONE
About whom it is written
'I will SEND my messenger
Ahead of you
Who will PREPARE your way
Before you'" Matthew 11:10
The angels are GOD'S MESSENGERS
And WITNESSES
Just like us
They keep watch
Over anything
For God=NOTHING is hidden
These angels make us
SEE the words of God
For God=ALL ARE ALIVE=
All are to have HOPE
All are to hear
THE WORDS OF GOD
Thes angels=these WITNESSES
Are here on earth
To MAKE the way of God
KNOWN to us
Just like us=
YES=we are alive
In GOD'S WORDS

With the ANGELS=and be

Jesus SACRIFICED his whole life
For us=He gave us
HIS ALL=BE THANKFUL for him
Be THANKFUL for his giving
I GUESS if you had
To compare Jesus' life to
An animal=it would be a LAMB
The lamb is RECOGNIZABLE
Because of his suffering
And above all=HIS SACRIFICE
HE GAVE US HIS ALL
"Then I saw........
A LAMB
That seemed to have been slain" Revelation 5:6
We KNOW he is a lamb
Because of his SUFFERING
We know that he is a lamb
Because of the doorposts of
The HEBREWS
Were marked with
The BLOOD of the lamb
He GAVE us his all
IN sacrifice and suffering
BE THANKFUL
"It is the PASSOVER
Sacrifices of the Lord
Who passed over the houses
Of the Israelites
In Egypt
And SPARED our homes
When he struck down
The EGYPTIANS
Then the people bowed down
And WORSHIPED" Exodus 12:27
"SACRIFICE THANK offerings
To God
Fulfill your vows
To the MOST HIGH" Psalm 50:14
"For by ONE SACRIFICE
He has made perfect=forever
Those who are
BEING MADE HOLY" Hebrews 1:14
Saint Thomas recognized
The RISEN and glorified Christ
When he put his hand
In his wound
Jesus gave us his ENTIRE LIFE
For EACH and everyone of us
Let us be THANKFUL
For his perfect life
Perhaps we can RECOGNIZE
Christ's power and BE THANKFUL=
ONCE we have witnessed
His total sacrifice
"Devote yourselves to PRAYER=
Being watchful and THANKFUL" Colossians 4:2

Since we are receiving
A kingdom
That CANNOT be shaken
Let us be THANKFUL
And so worship God

It is that TIME of year

To be GRATEFUL
For ALL that we have

For another year of LIFE
For LIFE itself is
GOD'S GREATEST GIFT TO US

It is time

On a regular basis
Is not only the
RIGHT thing to do

CONSCIOUS effort=we notice
The GOOD THINGS in life
Noticing the good things
In life=
It is time to be GRATEFUL

And songs from the SPIRIT
Singing to God
With GRATITUDE

MAKE ROOM FOR JESUS=TODAY
Have you ever seen Jesus?=
Probably not=but CHANCES are=
You have FELT HIM
Chances are=you have
Felt him ACTIVE in your life
Zacchaeus had NEVER seen Jesus=
But he climbed a tree=to get
A GLIMPSE of a man
Everyone was talking about
Jesus not only sees him
But CALLS him by name
"Jesus looked up and said to him=
'Zacchaeus-come down quickly
For TODAY
I must STAY at your house'" Luke 19:5
Make room for Jesus=MAYBE TODAY
Is the day
Jesus CALLS YOUR NAME
Maybe today is the day
Jesus COMES
To STAY at your house
MAKE ROOM for Jesus
Maybe today=IS the day
Jesus-DOES-call your name
"He determines
The number of the stars
And CALLS them each

"The gatekeeper

What will your RESPONSE be
When Jesus calls
Your name? Will it be
Just like Zacchaeus?
HOW will you answer Jesus
When he CALLS you
By name? How will you respond?

The WHOLE WORLD

YOU COULD BE A STAR?
We have all KINDS OF STARS
In this world
Movie stars=sports stars=stars of
Medicine=and just plain
EVERY DAY STARS
But what is it about
The STARS in the SKY
That captures our imagination?
They stir the emotions
In the HUMAN HEART
They just have
A MYSTERIOUS PRESENCE about them
"But the wise
Shall SHINE BRIGHTLY........
And those who lead
The many to justice
Shall be
Like the stars FOREVER" Daniel 12:3
SHINING BRIGHTLY
Don't you just wish
You could be A STAR?
Don't you just feel
A MYSTERIOUS UNION
With the stars?
Don't you just wish
That you could LIVE forever
And shine brightly
Forever in the SKY?
The prophet Daniel
MAY have felt that way too
He used them as a metaphor
For men and women=who=
DO speak for JUSTICE
SHINING BRIGHTLY=living
Like a star
In the sky

Jesus' life=Paul's words
Underscore the POWER
Of a GOOD EXAMPLE
LIVING THE RIGHT WAY=set a
Good example=can do MORE to
INSPIRE OTHERS
Than all the preaching and
ADVICE=we can give someone
"For the grace of GOD
Has appeared........training us
To REJECT godless ways
And worldly desires
And to live temperately=
Justly=And DEVOUTLY to this age........" Titus 2:11-12
LIVING LIFE the right way
The POWER of good example
Living life the RIGHT WAY
ENCOURAGES others to TRY
To live the right way too
"You Lord
Hear the desire of
The afflicted
You ENCOURAGE them
And you listen
To their cry" Psalm 10:17

REJOICE!

DOING THE WORK OF GOD
As 21st century APOSTLES of God
=Apostles of CHRIST=
We are called to keep on
DOING THE WORK OF GOD=
To SPREAD God's love=forgiveness
And kindness
To everyone we INTERACT with
Both Christian and ALL
Other denominations
We are all
In this TOGETHER=
ONE GOD OF LOVE
"I have the STRENGTH
For everything through him
Who EMPOWERS ME" Philippians 4:13
As we GROW in God
We begin to understand
That we POSSESS an inner strength
That comes
From God and Christ Jesus=
Saint Paul tells us=
It is UP to us
To know this
And keep on DOING THE
WORK OF GOD
This INNER STRENGTH
That we have
ENABLES us
To OVERCOME everything
That life throws at us
And MOVE through our days
With the heart
And mind of God
To have GOD'S GRACE
BESTOWED on us=means
That we have all we NEED
To do
The WORK of God
In this modern day
21st century
"The heavens declare
The glory of GOD
The skies proclaim
The WORK of his hands" Psalm 19:1
"If anyone builds
On this foundation using gold=
Silver=costly stones=wood=
Hay=or straw
The WORK will be shown
For what it is
Because the DAY
Will bring it to light
It will be REVEALED
With fire
And the fire will
TEST the quality

WORK at it

As WORKING for the Lord
NOT for human masters
Since you know
That you will receive
An INHERITANCE from the Lord

By the SPIRIT
Every day
When we say OUR PRAYERS

We RECEIVE
The EUCHARIST of the LORD

ENABLES US=to continue

LETTING GOD'S GRACE FLOW THROUGH US
As I sit down
To write this
I am sitting in a hotel
In Pittsburgh, Pa.
On WATER STREET
Staring out the window
At the CHANGING leaves
And the Monongahela River
What better PLACE to write
A poem=about God's GRACE
Flowing through us?
"Wherever the river flows=
EVERY sort of living creature
That can multply
SHALL LIVE" Ezekiel 47:9
The WORDS of Ezekiel
And the IMAGE of flowing water
Brings up the idea
Of God's ever-flowing
GRACE=flowing through each and
Every one of us
Just as water
RENEWS parched land=
The mighty sea=provides NEW LIFE=
Abundant food and HEALING
And God's ever-flowing GRACE
Helps to heal us
As it FLOWS through us=
Each and every day
Letting GOd'S GRACE
Flow through us=to bring us
EVERLASTING LIFE
"They gave MOSES this account
'We went into the land
To which you sent us
And it does FLOW
With milk and honey!
Here is the fruit'" Numbers 13:27
"'Let anyone who is thirsty
Come to me and drink
Whoever believes in me
As Scripture has said
Rivers of LIVING WATER
Will FLOW from within them'" John 7:38
Envision God's grace
Flowing through you
AS we go forth
To LOVE & SERVE GOD
In our daily lives
Just let God's grace
Flow through you
FLOW THROUGH US
"You are
The most excellent of men
And your lips
Have been anointed
With GRACE
Since God has
BLESSED you forever" Psalm 45:2
"And the child
Grew and became strong
He was filled with wisdom
And the GRACE OF GOD

THE COURAGE TO BE HUMBLE
THE COURAGE TO BE HUMBLE
Jesus was the MOST courageous
And HUMBLE PERSON
Who ever lived
The question is=do we
have the COURAGE and
HUMILITY to try and imitate him?
Do we have the COURAGE
To LIVE like him=to live
With humility?
"Have among yourselves
The same ATTITUDE
That is also
Yours in Christ Jesus
.........
He humbled himself
........." Philippians 2:5,8
We are told by Saint Paul
To be HUMBLE=but what
Does that exactly mean?
Jesus was humble=he did OFFER
Himself to be a SERVANT=
The SERVANT OF ALL
But he was NOT AFRAID
To stand up for himself
He was not afraid
To DO what was RIGHT
Regardless of the cost/CONSEQUENCES
He had the COURAGE=to do
What it took=to do
What life DEMANDED
"Lord Almighty=
God of Israel
You have revealed this
To your servant saying=
'I will build a house for you'
So your servant
Has found COURAGE
To PRAY this prayer
To you" 2 Samuel 7:27
"So keep your COURAGE men
For I have FAITH IN GOD
That it will happen
Just as he told me
Nevertheless=we must aground
On some island" Acts 28:25-26
The question REMAINS=what does
It mean=to be HUMBLE
How can we LIVE
With the HUMILITY OF CHRIST?
HUMILITY is defined as a
"MODEST or low view
Of one's own IMPORTANCE=
HUMBLESNESS"
To me=TRUE HUMILITY is
The true ACCEPTANCE of ourselves=
And Jesus KNEW exactly who he was=
The SON OF GOD
But he had NO NEED
To brag about it=because he knew
He had the COURAGE=
Th know that time and circumstance
Would take CARE of it ALL
He had the courage
He had the HUMILITY
"In your majesty ride
Forth victoriously
In the CAUSE of truth
HUMILITY and justice
Let your right hand
ACHIEVE awesome deeds" Psalm 45:4
"When pride comes
Then comes disgrace
But with HUMILITY
Comes wisdom" Proverbs 11:2
"In the same WAY
You who are younger
Submit yourselves
To your elders
All of you
Clothe yourselves with HUMILITY
Toward one another=because
'God OPPOSES the proud
But shows favor
To the HUMBLE'" 1 Peter 5:5
Dear Lord=please help us
TO BE HUMBLE
Yet LIVE our lives=COURAGEOUSLY=

LORD YOU TAKE OVER
Are you trying and trying
To rebuild your life
Overcome your obstacles
And lift your life
Back up to God
Not by our own power
Can we do so
Not by our own power---
If we are looking for our lives
To be lifted up
Not by our own power
Can it be done
Only by the power of God

We are headed
For a fall

They did
And a great catch was made---153 in all
Lord you take over
We are headed for a fall
Lord---we try and try
To overcome our health difficulties

To make our financial ends meet
Lord you take over
We can’t do it alone
We try and try
To make our marriage
And personal relationships work
We want the best
For our family and our kids
Sometimes it doesn’t work out
The way we intend
Lord you take over
We can’t do it
With our own power
We can’t do it alone
Saint Paul said,
Three times I pleaded
For the Lord
To remove the thorn in my flesh
But the Lord said to me,
“My grace is sufficient for you
My power is made perfect
In your weakness” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Lord we are weak
But you are strong
Not by our own power
Can we do it
Lord you take over---PLEASE---Take over all

It is so great
To be a BELIEVER
In the LOVE OF GOD
It is so great to BELONG=
To know that we
Are loved
By God
And by our FAMILY
At the BANQUET of God
We are all
CHERISHED GUESTS
We all BELONG
And NO ONE is ever
Turned away
“For none of us
LIVES for ourselves alone
And none of us
DIES for ourselves alone
If we live
We LIVE for the Lord
And if we die
We die for the Lord
So whether
We live or die
We BELONG to the LORD” Romans 14:7-8
SOON I will be SEEING
My family and friends in

GOD SENDS PEOPLE
WITNESS

GOD SENDS PEOPLE
Throughout time
When the world
Has chosen the wrong road
Has chosen the road of darkness
Instead of God’s road of LIGHT
God sends people
God sends people
People to point out our mistakes
God does this
Because there is
So much at stake
One such person
That God sent
Was Jeremiah
A prophet who came
About 600 years before Christ
Idolatry and perverted worship
Were the rule of the day
God sent Jeremiah
To the people of Judah
Who had
Turned their back on God
Jeremiah pointed out
To the people of his day
That we should worship God
And God alone
For his efforts
Jeremiah endured
Contempt and ridicule
Lost his family and friends
And even suffered attempts
On his life
Throughout time
God has sent us people
Abraham, Moses, and Elijah
Throughout time
God has sent us people
John the Baptist, Peter, and Paul
Throughout time
God has sent us people
Jesus Christ alone
The One who stands out
For all time
This world
Is lost today
Turning its back
On God
Making the wrong decisions
Time after time
Who is God sending today
Perhaps you
Perhaps me

FOR US
The OLDER I become
The more I look back
And the MORE GRATITUDE I feel
For all
GOD has done for me
In my life
GOD'S LOVE for me and
Probably for you too
Has been RADICAL
And PERSISTENT and has sustained me
Through all things
He loves you=and he loves me
With a NEVER ENDING LOVE
“ONLY goodness and kindness
Will follow me
All the days

Whether we are AWARE of it
Or not=I/we are being GUIDED
By God
We WONDER why he
Takes us
To SOME of the places
He does
But he sustains us=
He GUIDES US
He walks with us
Through all things

LOVE for us

By PERSISTENCE in doing good

IMMORTALITY

Today=on ALL SOULS DAY=

FOLLOWING GOD
Following the steps
Where God GUIDED them
Those who FOLLOW a God
Who refused
To ever
Give up on them
“GUIDE ME in your truth

For you are my God
And SAVIOR
And my HOPE is in you

CALLING ALL SAINTS
Today=11-1-18=we CELEBRATE
The feast of ALL SAINTS=and tomorrow=
11-2-18=we celebrate
All the SOULS
Who have faithfully DEPARTED
I PERSONALLY want to celebrate
And ACKNOWLEDGE
ALL the saints and souls
Who have HELPED me
On my JOURNEY OF FAITH
“To LIVE for my family=
Friends and all people EVERYWHERE”
“After this-
I had a VISION
Of a great multitude........
From EVERY nation-race-people
And tongue” Revelation 7:9
I SALUTE every Saint
From every FAITH=nation=color=creed
Let us all have
The COURAGE
To live like them
Do you KNOW
What a SAINT IS?
“A saint is a PERSON
Who is recognized
As having an exceptional DEGREE
Of holiness
Or likeness or
CLOSENESS TO GOD”
And so I say
Thank you to all
My FAMILY MEMBERS=friends=
And all people
Who have SUSTAINED ME
In my search
To FIND GOD
And bring LOVE
BACK into this world
I thank you=
YOU=are SAINTS to me
You have given me
The COURAGE to keep fighting
To keep living
OUT OF FAITH
CALLING ALL SAINTS
Let us step up
To God=and our FAITH
And KEEP living lives
CLOSE TO GOD
CALLING all Saints
Calling all people
Close to GOD
NO MATTER what your faith=
Color or creed
“The Lord is CLOSE
To the brokenhearted
And SAVES those
Who are
Crushed in SPIRIT” Psalm 34:18
“And he has raised up
For his people a horn
The PRAISE of all
His faithful servants

Our faith in GOD
KNOWING that PRAYING to him

For the Lord

How many of us
Have ever a looked at a person
Of another race, color, creed
Doing something that we don’t like
Or demonstrating a quality
That is particularly ugly
How many of us
Have then taken that experience
And associated it with
An entire race, color, sex, religion, etc……..
If you say that you have NEVER done it
You are a far better person than I
Martin Luther King
Began a movement some 50 years or so ago
That still lives on and is in us today
He died for what he believed
God bless him for what he stood for
It may surprise you to know
That there was a man that lived
From 1579 to 1639
He was known as “Half Breed” or “War Souvenir”
Cruel names inflicted on him
By those of “pure” breed
He was the illegitimate son
Of a freed black woman from Panama
Who possibly had some Native American in her too
His father was a man of Spanish descent
From Lima, Peru
Because Martin was black like his Mother
It took his father 8 years to acknowledge him
Martin never became bitter---even as a child
He gave his heart and all that he had
For the poor and despised
Early on---Martin became a barber
And drew blood and administered medicines
In hospitals
Martin then applied to the Dominicans
To be a “lay helper”
Not feeling himself worthy
To be a religious brother
TALK ABOUT HUMILITY
In his medical duties---and in life
Martin treated ALL people with dignity
Regardless of race, color, status, etc……..
He worked side-by-side with ALL
In the kitchen---in the laundry
And in the infirmary
Martin’s life
Reflected God’s extraordinary love
And he became so highly thought of
That many of the religious
Took him on as their spiritual advisor
Saint Rose of Lima, Peru
Became his very good friend
Dear Lord---we pray
That we become like Saint Martin de Porres
Who lived his life
For the dignity of ALL
We pray that we become
Like the great Martin Luther King
Willing to live out our lives
In life and in death
For the dignity of all
And most of all---Dear Lord---we pray
That when we look at people
We see---NOT color---NOT sexuality---NOT creed
We pray that we just see people
People and their NEED
May we build a better world
