MANY of you guys=have FAMILIES=have children=

I wish that I did=but I was NOT BLESSED= in that way

 

But I=GREW UP=in a family=with two sisters=totally on

GOD’S UNFAILING LOVE=and from my parents unfailing

LOVE too=and ALL of our love=for each other=”ALL who heard

These things=took them to heart saying=’What then will

THIS CHILD BE?’”                                                                                                                             Luke 1:66

 

THE HOLY FAMILY’S LOVE was our pattern=as it should be=

FOR ALL FAMILIES=We were brought UP on love=and that love

STILL EXISTS=among the three of us today=

 

We had SIT DOWN family dinners=we went to MASS=and

To CHURCH all together=we were TAUGHT the love of GOD=and

Families from our parents=for all of us=LET THEM SEE=

YOUR JOY=and love of God=My mother was devout=MY FATHER

Was a commentator at MASS=they let us SEE=THE JOY AND LOVE

For God=and Jesus=and IN THE HOLY FAMILY

 

“For seven days=celebrate the festival=to the Lord=Your God

At the place=the Lord will choose=For the Lord your God will=

Bless you=in all your harvest=and in all the work=of your hands=

AND YOUR JOY=will be complete”                                                                                                Deuteronomy 16:15

 

“Surely=you have granted him=unending blessings=and

Made him glad=WITH THE JOY=of your presence”                                                        Psalm 21:6

 

“Those the Lord=has rescued=will return=They will enter Zion

With singing=EVERLASTING JOY=will croen their heads”                                                Isaiah 51:11

 

So all of you PARENTS=out there=LET THEM=your children=SEE

THE JOY OF FAMILY=in your hearts=let theme see=THE LOVE=You

Have for your children=and for Jesus=and for THE HOLY FATHER GOD!

 

TAKE YOUR FAMILY=to CHURCH together=let them SEE=the LOVE AND

JOY you have for them=and for God

“And hope=does not put us to shame=BECAUSE GOD’S LOVE

Has been=Poured out into our hearts=through the Holy Spirit=

Made us alive with Christ=even when we were dead=in

So ALL=of you young parents=of children=do NOT be afraid

To show your children FAMILY LOVE=and your LOVE for=

The Holy Father God=and for Jesus=and they will=GROW UP

To be=people of FAITH=and People of JOY AND LOVE

 

Just like the HOLY FAMILY=Let your children see=YOUR JOY AND LOVE

For God=and for each other

HEARING YOUR PRAYERS=and they are WORKING on

Your behalf=behind the scenes=TRUST that God is

WORKING ON YOUR BEHALF=that God is WORKING=

On all that is IMPORTANT to you

 

“Whatever you do=WORK AT IT=with al your heart=as

WORKING for the Lord=not human masters”                                                                            Colossians 3:23

 

ALL that EACH=and any of us=CAN DO=is take care

Of all that we can do=and LEAVE it up to God=CONTROL

What we can=”TRUST THAT GOD=IS WORKING=on your

Behalf=even though=you are NOT seeing any results”=That

Is a DIRECT QUOTE from Pope Francis

 

I trust in him=but even MORE than that=I trust IN=the Holy Father

God=and HIS SON Jesus Christ

 

SOME of the things=that I pray for=Is a MORE UNIFIED CHURCH=

A more unified country and world=for all of us

 

And for MY OWN FAMILY=and all families=and friends=even

Though=I am not seeing results right now=I still TRUST that God=

IS WORKING FOR ALL OF US

NOT SEEING=any results=in your prayers=and in YOUR WORK=

Pulled in two directions=ONE is in the WAYS

Of our Holy Father God=and Jesus

Love=forgiveness=KINDNESS=and LIVING THE BEATITUDES

 

The other way=IS the ways=of the WORLD=If we

CHOOSE the ways of the world=we are PRIORITIZING

Money and materialism=maybe ourselves=and SELFISHNESS

Or maybe drugs=alcoholism=and moral permissiveness=WE NEED

 

To CHOOSE GOD FIRST=to BELONG to God for=”NO ONE

Can serve two masters”                                                                                                    Matthew 6:24

 

Today=we HONOR TWO MEN=who literally CHOSE

To lose their heads=Rather than approve of an IMMORAL=

Illicit King=a corrupt King=King Henry VIIITH=and his wife

And Boleyn=and their children=as righteous heirs

 

They CHOSE GOD=they chose RIGHT over the KING=and

They were MARTYRED for it=Their names were Saint John Fisher=

And Thomas More

 

We will=PROBABLY=never lose our lives=for the CHOICE

WE MAKE=in this world=but we NEED TO CONTINUE to make=

CHOICES of=PUTTING GOD FIRST=over money and materialism=

And over our own SELFISH INTERESTS

 

CHOOSE TO BE=GOD’S FIRST=Choose to be=A SERVANT

OF GOD

 

“Then Eli realized=that the Lord=was calling the boy=So Eli

Told Samuel’=’Go and lie down=and if he calls you again=say=

 

‘Speak Lord=FOR YOUR SERVANT is listening’=so Samuel

Dear Lord=we PRAY=that we always=CHOOSE TO SERVE YOU=

BE YOUR SERVANT=a servant of our God=and Jesus=HIS SON

And to THE CHURCH=of the Lord

 

May we CHOOSE=to PUT GOD FIRST Like Saints John Fisher and

Thomas More=and all the SAINTS of this world=who CHOOSE GOD

OVER the ways of this world

 

Dear Lord=when we are TEMPTED=by other masters=like

Political ideologies=like finances=like our careers=may we

CONTINUE to CHOOSE God first=and be YOUR SERVANTS

 

“I AM THE FIRST=and I am the last=apart from me

“BUT SEEK FIRST=his Kingdom=and his righteousness=and

Goodbyes are difficult

Goodbyes always

Cause someone pain

 

Goodbyes occur

For many reasons

A move, a death, a broken relationship

 

But as Jesus

Was leaving this world

Jesus said

I leave my peace

With you

 

It is the kind of peace

That is

Not the peace from this world

But a peace

In spite of this world

 

A peace that says

In every situation

I am with you

To trust God

And know

God will bring you safely home

 

God’s peace

Is a victory

Over the darkness of sin

In this world

 

It is a victory over

The coldness, the indifference, the selfishness

The ingratitude, the luke warmness

And rejection of this world

 

So please know

That whatever you are facing

In this world

 

And if you

Are facing

A goodbye for any reason

I wish you peace

FOR ALL MANKIND=They changed the world=through

GOOD PEOPLE=Holy people=Good hearts and good love!

 

“And God said’=’Let there be light’=and there was light=

God saw that the light WAS GOOD=and he separated

The light=from the darkness”                                                                                                     Genesis 1:3-4

 

“The fool=says in his heart=’There is no God’=They

Are corrupt=their deeds are vile=There is I no one=

WHO DOES GOOD”                                                                                                                        Psalm 14:1

 

“How beautiful=on the mountains=are the feet=

I too=IN MY LIFE=Have been Blessed by and with=some

For each other=We can’t change the world=as Jesus did=

With his disciples=but we CAN CHANGE=our own little

CORNER of the world=If we=SHOW that same love for God=

As the disciples did==If we have GOOD LOVE=for the Holy

Father God and Jesus=and for each other

 

“Why do you ask me=About what is GOOD?’=Jesus replied=

‘There is only ONE=WHO IS GOOD=If you want to

Enter life=keep the commandments’”                                                                                 Matthew 19:17

 

“His master replied’=’Well done=GOOD and faithful

Servant!=You have been faithful=with a few things=I

Will put you in charge=Of many things=Come and share

Your master’s happiness!’”                                                                                                            Matthew 25:21

WHERE have all the good people gone?=Where have all

Much hatred=so little CARING=we have to get back

To=LOVE OF GOD FIRST=we have to get back to=LOVING

Each other=as ourselves=we have to get back to being=

GOOD PEOPLE OF GOD=with GOOD HEARTS=and not just

Good love=but=OF GREAT LOVE=for each other

 

And MOST of all=we need the HOLY FATHER GOD=and Jesus

TO TOUCH US=all over again=and CREATE a miracle=of making

Us=GOOD PEOPLE=with GOOD HEARTS=and with GOOD LOVE

 

“…….being confident of this=that he who began=A GOOD WORK

In you==will carry it on to completion=Until the day of

Dear Lord=we PRAY=that you TOUCH US=Touch our world

All over again=and create=A MIRACLE=by turning us into=

Are KNEELING YOU to a cross=and taking your life?

 

That is=WHAT PERFECT LOVE=looks like=that is

THE LOVE=Jesus had for this world=and LOVE=

IS THE KEY=at all times=in all circumstances=in

THIS UNIVERSE=OUR MODEL=IS JESUS’ LOVE!

The perfect love=HE had had for HIS FATHER=and for

ALL OF US=”So BE PERFECT=just as your HEAVENLY FATHER

IS PERFECT”                                                                                                                                           Matthew 5:48

 

“Jesus said’=’FATHER=forgive them=for they do

NOT KNOW=what they are doing’”                                                                                            Luke 23:34

 

What Jesus is TEACHING US=IS that PERFECT LOVE

For the Holy Father God=and HIS OWN=perfect love=is

THE STANDARD=against everything else in this world=OUR MODEL

IS=Jesus’ perfect love=Jesus’ love and=THE PERFECT LOVE of

The Father=are THE MODEL=for all of us

 

“And so you=BECAME A MODEL=for all believers=in

To such help=bur in order= to offer ourselves=AS A MODEL=

For you to imitate”                                                                                                                         2 Thessalonians 3:9

 

By ourselves=we can TRY=and try=and try=But it is

IMPOSSIBLE=for us=to attain that perfect love

 

Jesus had it=Because he was=THE SON of=the Holy Father God=

And was on a MISSION=from his Father=Nevertheless=our GOAL

Is to try and ATTAIN that PERFECT LOVE=that our Lord

Jesus Christ had=but

 

We are NOT=without help=in obtaining that perfect love=of

Jesus Christ=He sends us=THE GRACE and truth of the Holy Spirit

Of God=LOVE IS THE KEY!=Our model=is Jesus’ love=His perfect

PERFECT LOVE!

 

“You will keep=IN PERFECT PEACE=those whose minds

Are steadfast=because they trust in you”                                                                                       Isaiah 26:3

 

“Do not conform=to the pattern of this world=but

Be transformed=by the renewing of your mind=Then

You will be able=

 

To test and approve=What God’s will is=--------his good

Pleasing=and PERFECT WILL”                                                                                                          Romans 12:2

 

“For by one sacrifice=He has MADE PERFECT forever=

Those who are being made holy”                                                                                                   Hebrews 10:14

 

We are CHILDREN of=The Holy Father God=we are

BROTHERS AND SISTERS=of our ever LOVING Lord

Jesus Christ=that is=what GIVES US HOPE

 

That we can=LEARN to love=maybe NOT PERFECTLY=but

As MUCH=as humanly possible=OUR MODEL IS=Jesus

And HIS PERFECT LOVE=and will always be=may we BECOME

And learn to LOVE=Like our model and example Jesus Christ

 

In Jesus’ name= and in the name=of OUR HOLY FATHER GOD=who

IS forever living and loving=they are=THE SPIRIT OF LOVE!

JOHN THE BAPTIST

 

 

Today is the feast

Of Jesus’ cousin, John

He was a forerunner

To Jesus’ message

Of peace and love

But he taught

In a way

Of fire and brimstone

 

He tried to

Prepare the way

For Jesus

He tried

To do what is right

He was rewarded

For his efforts

By someone

Cutting off his head

 

John had many followers

He even baptized Jesus

He was Jesus’ cousin

He was Jesus’

Forerunner in love

Ps        “Then Jesus came from Galilee

              To the Jordan to be baptized by John

              But John tried to deter him saying,

 

             “I need to be baptized by you

              And do you come to me?”

 

              Jesus replied,

 

              “Let it be so now

                It is proper for us

                To do this to fulfill all righteousness”

 

                Then John consented

 

               As soon as Jesus was baptized

               He went up out of the water

               At that moment-heaven was opened

               And he saw the SPIRIT OF GOD

               Descending like a dove and lighting on him

               And a voice from heaven said,

 

               “This is my Son-whom I love

                With him I am well pleased”                                               Matthew 3:13-17
