SECRETS
You have heard it said,
“We are only as sick as our secrets”
We all have secrets
Secrets that we
Don’t want anyone else to know
I have some news for you
God already knows ALL of your secrets ( and mine )
And he loves us anyhow
You are a child of God
He knows
The secrets of your heart
“Would not God
Have discovered it
Since he knows
The secret of the heart”
Psalm 44:21
But what is great
Is that he knows your good secrets too
He already knows
That you love him more
Than the deepest darkest secret of your life
“For God who said
“Let the light shine out of darkness”
Make light shine in our hearts
To give us the light of knowledge
Of the glory of God
In the face of Christ” 2 Corinthians 4:6
Secrets secrets
Secrets of our soul
There is some darkness there
That we already know
But Lord
Please let the biggest secret
Be known---and that is
We love you so
We know
That we are a child of yours
We know
That we are a child of God
And we know
That your light
That the light of God
Will outshine
The darkness of our secrets
“And the secrets of our heart
Will be laid bare
So he will fall down and worship God exclaiming
God is really among you” 1
Corinthians 14:25
If it is true
That we are only as sick
As our secrets
It is also true
That we are as strong
As the light within us
And the light of God
Outshines any darkness within us
“But if we walk in the light
As he is the light
We have fellowship with one another
And the blood of Jesus, his son,
Purifies us from all sin”
1 John 1:7
For when we overcome the
darkness
That is within our own soul
And when we choose God and light
Over the darkness
We will find God
We will KNOW
That in spite of it all
That we are CHILDREN OF LIGHT
And CHILDREN OF GOD
