JOURNAL/THE GREATEST COMMANDMENT


“WHY are you doing what is UNLAWFUL on the sabbath?” Luke 6:2


WE live in a society FULL of rules-more so today than even back in the olden days-but JESUS REMINDS us that the ONLY RULE that really matters is the rule or LAW OF LOVE-LOVE GOD and LOVE ONE ANOTHER


“MASTER-which is the greatest commandment in the law?


Jesus said unto him-'thou shalt LOVE the Lord thy God with ALL thy heart-and with all thy soul-and with all thy mind


THIS is the first and greatest commandment


AND the second is like unto it-thou shalt LOVE THY NEIGHBOR as thyself


ON these two commandments hang ALL the law and the prophets'” Matthew 22:37-40


DEAR LORD-in a world full of rules- thank you fro REMINDING US that LOVE is the ONLY RULE that really matters


IT IS a GREAT DAY to be alive in GOD'S EVERLASTING LOVE for us and a GREAT day to love GOD and to try and LOVE ALL OTHERS

THE GREATEST COMPLIMENT


The greatest compliment
That we can give another human being
Is to tell them
That they are
An imitator of Christ
Albeit on a smaller scale


So how can we be
How will we be
An imitation of Christ
In today’s world


Be perfect in love
For every other human being


Be an imitator of Christ


Be perfect in forgiveness
For every other human being


Be an imitator of Christ


Be like Saint Francis of Assisi


Clothe the naked
Feed the poor
House the homeless


Be an imitator
Of Christ


Be an imitator
Of Saint Francis
Be perfect in love
For the lost and forlorn


Be perfect in kindness
For every other human being


Be an imitator of Christ


And though
We may not be perfection
As long as
We try
To do what we can do


Maybe someday---someway
Someone will say,


“I see Christ in you
You are an imitation of Christ”

on to them-FOR WE KNOW-in the way we JUDGE OTHERS-that is HOW
GOD HIMSELF will judge us-BE MERCIFUL
