JOURNAL/BETRAYAL....ONE LAST CHANCE

In today's gospel-WE read about Judas and his betrayal-a TRAGIC day for God and humankind

We may never face the tragic betrayal of a friend that costs us our live-but we face betrayals WHEN
people talk about us -lie about us-and DON'T keep their word-I CALL them LITTLE acts of treason

BUT we NEED NEVER worry-for we KNOW GOD has an INFINITE LOVE for us and will
NEVER betray or abandon us

WE can respond by giving our lives and love back to GOD-not matter how small we think it might be-
it is a PRECIOUS and WELCOME gift to God

IT is a GREAT DAY to be ALIVE in GOD'S LOVE for us! and a great day to give our life and
LOVE back to God

LOVE YOU ALL!








BETRAYAL---ONE LAST CHANCE




Imagine this


You are
An itinerant preacher
Living 2000 years ago
Preaching the Word of God


You basically have 72 followers
12 very close ones


The one
You have trusted the most
The one that handles the money
That you use
To help the needy and the poor
Is stealing from the treasury


You know
He is going to be your downfall
You know
He is going
To take you down


“Father
If it is possible
Take this cup from me
Yet not as I will
But as your will” Matthew 11:39


One last chance for friendship
One last chance for love
Please take it Judas
We can live
As one


“Yet not my will Lord
Your will be done”


What about us
Dear Lord
And all the times
That we let you down


What about us
Dear Lord
When our friends
Have let us down


Dear Lord
Please help us
To turn back to you


One last chance
For friendship
One last chance
For love


Yet---Lord---not our will
But your will be done


After all the time
That Judas had spent with Jesus
He just couldn’t accept him
Like Peter
And the other Disciples had done


Judas
His heart hardened
By the choices that he made
Was to remain closed


Sold his friend
For 30 pieces of silver
He sold out his friend’s love
He hung himself in Potter’s field
When he finally realized
What he had done


Dear Lord---when people
Let us down in this world
And they will
Please help us
To have that same spirit of forgiveness
That you had for Judas


One last chance for friendship
One last chance for love


“Not my will Lord
But yours”
