NEEDING TO HEAR

NEEDING TO HEAR


Sometimes=there are things
In life=
That we don't
Necessarily want to HEAR


But we NEED TO HEAR
Nonetheless=for our
VERY OWN GOOD


That is the case today=
As we CELEBRATE
The martyrdom
Of the FIRST
CHRISTIAN MARTYR=Saint Stephen


“But they cried out
In a loud voice


COVERED their ears
And rushed upon him together” Acts 7:57-58


That was the CASE
For today of our
GREAT SAINT Stephen


He was PREACHING a
JOYFUL reality of Christ
To the people


IF they would only
TURN away from their sins


That is AS TRUE today
For us=and our FOLLOWERS
Of Christ


As it was 2,000
Years ago
NEEDING TO HEAR


“........if my people
Who are called
By my name
Will humble themselves


And pray
And seek
And seek my face
And turn
From their wicked ways


Then I WILL HEAR
From heaven
And I will forgive
Their sin” 2 Chronicles 7:14


“In that day
The deaf will HEAR
The words
Of the scroll” Isaiah 29:18


“Whoever has ears
LET THEM HEAR” Matthew 11:15


The people did
NOT WANT to hear
The words of Saint Stephen


So they made him
THE FIRST CHRISTIAN MARTYR


What teachings do we
NEED TO HEAR
From our CHRURCH
In today's world?


Are we STILL FIGHTING
Against the TEACHINGS of Christ
From 2,000 years earlier?


MAYBE=there is something
In the BIBLE
That we still
NEED to take to heart


That you need to heart
AND APPLY to your life
In today's world


“Pay attention
And turn your ear
To the sayings
Of the wise


APPLY your heart
To what I teach” Proverbs 22:17


“APPLY YOUR HEART
To instruction
And your ears
To words of knowledge” Proverbs 23:12


And so today-
As we celebrate
THE LIFE of saint Stephen


Let us keep our minds
And our HEARTS OPEN=
About what we NEED TO HEAR


From the CHURCH=
And from the bible=
And from others
