Saint Rita of Cascia/Saint of
the Impossible
The first time I ever heard of Saint Rita was in the 2002
movie, “The Rookie.”
Saint Rita, along with St. Jude, is known as the patron
Saint of desperate cases.
She lived from 1377 to 1437.
She wanted to become a nun, but in deference to her parents,
she married.
Her husband was violent and unfaithful. She endured her husband’s insults
And infidelities.
They had 2 sons. After 18 years,
her husband was murdered.
Her sons subsequently died too.
She then become a nun.
She is known for her holiness and miracles. She is also
Known as the Saint of matrimonial difficulties.
So if you need the impossible, or are in need of a miracle
in your marriage,
She might be a good place to start.
Today is her feast day.
